We have been eating here on a regular (2x year or so, driving to Calistoga from the East Bay) basis since it opened. We loved the fresh and distinctive food offerings and the efficient assembly line way they were made. Returned today for the first time in 8 months. The place was remodeled. Assembly line gone and replaced with well-meaning but inevitably slower table service. Lost ability to customize the construction of food (more peppers, less cabbage, whatever). Many new items on the menu (burger! Really? There aren't a zillion places to get a burger already? Revel in your distinctive menu instead of going wider!) No option to choose bread--items served as bowls (except Bahn mi). Table service is too much fuss for the old menu and we were not interested in the new menu. The old items weren't as good as we remembered them and we spent 20 minutes longer on dinner than we planned or wanted to spend. read more

My husband and I have been going to Heritage eats as long as I can remember living in Napa Valley and because of your lack of grace I will NEVER give them another cent! My husband I and walked up to the door in which there was a sign that read: Building Closed. Point taken. There was a food truck in front of the building but we weren't sure what it was. Then I hear the monosyllabic Karen, from inside the truck, ranting that she can't understand why idiot patrons go up to the door when clearly the store is closed. Ok, bye. The manager and waiters are trash. We came to pickup our order and they told us to wait outside, when we told them we actually changed our mind and wanted to eat inside they said they did not want to change the setting, this after having us wait already for a while. Also the open kitchen smelled like rotten pork . Definitely would advise to reconsider eating there. read more

We went for a late weekday lunch and wasn't too busy. It was a nice sunny day so we took advantage of the outdoor tables. The menu has a lot of choices so we took some time figuring out what to order. We ordered a burger and waffle fries, jerk chicken tacos, and brussel sprouts. The burger was very good and it was topped with pork belly so it was extra good. The brussel sprouts were nice and crispy, and had a delicious sauce probably with balsamic vinegar so no bitterness. The jerk chicken had a nice spicy kick but not too hot. Overall we enjoyed the food, service, and setting. We'll be back to try other menu items read more

I'm surprised that I haven't left a review before. This spot is one that I like to go to because it was the last spot with meat before going over the hill to Middletown. I like the fact that they have meat and many preparations - sando, taco, salad, etc. I appreciate the fact that everything isn't dredged in a ton of flour before cooking, frying, etc. I really did enjoy my stay and look forward to returning. The service was quite good. The people were very nice and they prepare the food in front of you which is a nice touch. The place was set up for takeout, which was cool and they had the stations for that. It was clean looking. The only issue is that when it comes to drinks to go with the meal, they don't have a lot of options. I had the Thai noodle salad with grilled tofu- tofu completely tasteless, salad dressing had good basic flavor but it lacked any real punch. Noodles overcooked. Portion was huge but it was so underwhelming I didn't bother taking leftovers. My daughter had eggs Benedict- she said the sauce had a sour flavor. Best thing on her plate were the roasted potatoes. We both had Thai iced tea. Watered down with mostly ice so it was hugely disappointing because Thai tea is usually so flavorful and creamy. $60 down the drain. I've come to this location for years and always look forward to a good meal and great service. I had the Tikka Masala Chicken bowl with yellow rice, Cole slaw, edamame beans and cucumbers covered in Lemon Tahini sauce with a side of Creamy Cilantro sauce. I had been eating and ordering food from Heritage Eats religiously when I worked at the Napa Outlets a few years ago, and just recently came in for a quick lunch last month. The food is just as good as I remember! My go-to is the Caribbean chicken bowl cuz I absolutely love the spice on it! And their waffle fries are probably the best ones I've had from anywhere. So crunchy and flavorful! My husband said he really liked the lemongrass pork that was in the bahn mi, and that it had a great cook to it! Only complaint from him was that the dutch crunch bread is pretty massive, so the sandwich was hard to eat. Otherwise it was a hit! And the churros!! They were delicious! Crispy on the outside, and warm and fluffy on the inside. Perfectly paired with a side of their chocolate sauce. Besides a few additions to the menu, not much has changed since I last grabbed a bite to eat here a few years ago. Our dining experience here at Heritage Kitchen and Taps was nothing short of amazing. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was warm and welcoming and Sharin truly elevated the entire experience for us. She was attentive, friendly, warm, engaging and went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. She was absolutely extraordinary! As for the food, wow was it FANTASTIC. I have enjoyed heritage eats for the past 5 years and will never be back. Their remodel to be a sit down dine in experience not only robs Napa of a unique fast casual restaurant but is now no longer a fast lunch option. We went today for lunch and waited over 30 minutes for our food. Our waitress was polite and helpful but the three other front of staff employees weren't helping her at all only focused on to go orders. This remodel just comes off as corporate greed, who needs a $35 lobster roll on a lunch menu. read more

We paid $30 and got one adult meal, one kid's meal and a San Pellegrino. My kid ordered a burger and waffle fries. She refused to eat more than two bites of the burger because she said it was gross. She isn't usually picky about burgers. Her waffle fries were undercooked. I eat a lot of Indian food so I ordered the Mumbai Masala with turmeric rice and salad. The salad was good, the rice was a bit cool, and the masala was rather plain. The square blocks of chicken were tough and overcooked (they had been sitting around in the buffet style heater for a while) and the masala sauce was okay. I asked for it to be made spicy (a menu option) and got chipotle sauce squirted on top! It really didn't work well with the masala. The atmosphere strongly reminded me of my British high school canteen. Plain little tables and uncomfortable benches / chairs and some stools in the window seat. No decor to speak of. We got plastic knives and forks for our $30 lunch. It was all very sad. I regretted our choice to visit. Perhaps we ordered the wrong dishes, but I won't be back to find out. read more

This casual counter/cash register restaurant is eclectic, international, earthy and tasty. I ordered the Tikka Masala chicken wrap, and while it was messy it was so good. I stole a spoonful of the tomato soup and have been craving more since then. My friend had the Bao that required assembly and while he enjoyed it, the spice created beads of sweat (we both have a low tolerance). Tucked away in a corner of the strip mall would be hard to find if it weren't for the gigantic sign on its rooftop. Parking is easy and free. I'll be back! read more

I didn't have time to go back in line as it was quiet busy to complain so it was not worth it. I ordered chicken jerk bowl half turmeric basmati rice half salad. I got steak bowl. Steak bowl was underwhelming. I didn't even get if I wanted the other toppings. I guess I need to "build my bowl" next time and not order from the menu. I had to ask for edamame and I would have loved some kimchi. I don't go here often I think I have been to heritage eats one time before. Curry wrap.. just get the bowl the "wrap" became soggy from the tikka masala sauce and there was way more rice than meat and other ingredients. Idk if I'd come back tbh. I honestly didn't really know what to expect. Generally a place that offers a bit of everything ends up producing a bit of nothing. The menu is all over the place with just a hint of every cuisine. And yet....it worked. Holy cow does it work. We started with the jerk chicken waffle fries which had a ton of awesome jerk spicing and plenty of chicken. More chicken than I thought and I was so grateful for that. I actually made like a half meal out of the leftovers because we had so much food. But for my main meal I got the lemongrass pork bao. I got delivery so it came deconstructed so it ensured that everything stayed fresh and didn't get soggy. But it was a ton of pork, some good bao, and incredible flavoring. And so much food.
