Update: they told me I needed brakes, when my brakes were done two days ago!! I took it to my mechanic who showed me pictures that are clear that I have, at least 15,000 more miles on the brakes. Hot mess. read more

This is the worst Honda dealership you can deal with. I have a honda accord which was giving me emissions problems. I took it to Herson's Honda at Rockville location and the first time they told me what the "problem" was, a couple days later same problem again.. apparently these people were NOT FIXING THE CAR they were just getting money from the warranty we currently have and wanted to keep getting money for doing absolutely nothing. I went to this Honda dealership because it had an earlier appointment than the one closest to me. I went in for a gas fuel pump recall. When I went to pick up the car, it was not starting. I had never had this issue with my car. I had to leave it for an additional day. I got a call the next day asking for $218 for a diagnostic test. I've gone to Honda before and only had to pay $120 for this type of service. Now, I have to push my car to get it to start. Something they did went wrong. read more

I had the most wonderful experience at Herson's Honda. I was helped by Noella and Andy. I walked into the dealership and I had an idea of what I wanted but Andy helped me work through everything from models, to trims, and pricing. He was very patient and worked through each step with me. Even when things were getting a little exhausting he kept my spirits high. This is my first time buying a car and I couldn't have dreamt a better experience. Then when it was time to discuss packages Noella walked me through everything, answering all my questions, and making sure I was getting exactly what I needed. I have bought numerous vehicles over the last 45 years, new and used. The purchase of the used Honda Civic EXL from Herson's Honda in Rockville MD on May 20, 2024, has been by far the worst experience. Only because I have to check a star, I selected one. Otherwise, I would give it no stars. I should have walked out from the moment I detected the salesperson lacking interpersonal skills. The reasons to buy the vehicle were that my son really liked the car and it had low mileage for a 2020 model with no crash history . This is the first time that I do not get the car washed and cleaned before driving it out of the dealership. Second, the car did not get permanent tags until August 20. After 30 days with the temp tags, I called the dealership to inquire about the permanent tags. Every call I made, went unanswered. Nobody seems to answer the phone in that dealership. Finally when I was able to speak with CJ, we were just given a farfetched story about a backlog at the MVA. We had to go through two sets of temp tags because they do have an expiration date. We ended up having to drive to the dealership and spoke with Kevin. He acknowledged that the request for the permanent tags had fallen through the cracks and indicated that the reason was because the previous owner was a diplomat and the cars are registered in a way that is not through the MVA. Once permanent were available, I did not get any information about the title. After an email, I was informed that the MVA would send the title to me. It is now Sept 20 and no title! Third, my son was driving the car at the beginning of Sept when 3 error messages popped up all of the sudden in the dashboard (collision mitigation, auto cruise, and road departure). To make the story short, my son took the car to a Honda dealership in Ohio and he as told that the car was likely on a fender bender and not reported to CarFax because there was evidence after inspecting the detector inside the bumper. I had to pay nearly $500 despite the fact that I had purchased premium insurance coverage at Herson's Honda. This is because the insurance would not pay a replacement from the outset before "detector aiming" is done to attempt fixing the errors. Because of the evidence of a fender bender, insurance would not pay for the aiming work. When I contacted Herson's Honda about this problem, CJ insinuated that this was likely due to something we did to the car. This really was the straw that broke the camel's back. I never write reviews for any product I buy. But the insinuation that I am lying and that something happened to the car while we drove it for 3 months made me furious. I will never come back to Herson's Honda and I seriously recommend anyone else looking to buy a Honda vehicle to search for another Honda dealership. read more

Fraud, plain fraud. I brought the car in with AC issues and an extended warranty. In short, Herson's tells me that they need to charge $600+ to add dyed refrigerant to the lines to figure out what's wrong, that it was "a little low", and that it isn't covered by the warranty. (Refrigerant is only covered if its related to a broken part. I stated that there is inherently a broken part if refrigerant is low, but Herson's does nothing to advocate for this). Angry about this, I decline and take it to Ourisman Honda- which runs the car all day to find it's a mechanical part, and the REFRIGERANT IS COMPLETELY FULL. (I tested it at home as well- same result). Herson's wanted to make a quick $600-700 off me but not filling the refrigerant but telling me they did and now it's full- how would I ever know? Didn't bother to spend the time to actually run the car, get a code, and figure it out. (Incidentally, all covered by the warranty). Scammers. Will never use again. Honda should be ashamed to be associated with them. read more

I regret buying my 2020 Honda Accord Hybrid from this dealership. They did a bait and switch method through email and in person, i was introuduced to a different person. I didnt pay attention at first then he tried to make me pay more. I had to dwindle down to a price where I was happy when the deal was supposedly done deal on email with a different person. 4,700 miles later... not even 8 month old. A stress crack appeared on the windshield; my the Accord was parked for 2 weeks. I called Herson Honda and explain my situation, they said, to come in. I was under the impression, if its stress cracked and they would warranty it on the phone. As soon, I came in, they confirm its stress crack but...they basically said, take it to your insurance. We do not warranty window. Then why ask me to come in. As soon, I took in for my oil change. They do not do car wash like other dealerships do. I would never come back to this dealership. They just want your money. Check out the review in the past year. They have gone downhill.... RUN for your lives. They are worst than covid19. read more

I'm gave Herons 3 stars because when it comes to sales, I'd have to say they are a pretty great dealership. Throughout my family we have purchased 4 vehicles from them. Percy was a great salesman with recent purchases. The last car my husband and dad purchased as a surprise for me on my birthday...a 2019 Honda civic. Kevin was an amazing car salesman! Overall, their service department is mediocre. I left Criswell to get my service done at Hersons, since Criswell was overall just awful. The first few times I have taken my older civic, my experience was fine. Online scheduling is convenient, and the check in is as well. I took my newer civic in recently and mentioned a paint chip that was noticed right after my husband purchased the vehicle. I explained everything to the service writer then had to explain it again to the director, who didn't seem to really care bc he maintained eye contact with the service guy instead of talking to me, the customer. I also had a prior issue with the service director (Greg) when I had emailed him regarding a prior visit. There were cigarettes left in my car and the smell of cigarettes was lingering. I was pretty annoyed and had emailed the director about this when I got the survey. His response was he would talk to the managers about it...thats it. With regards to the paint chip, they followed up with the sales department and apparently no one wants to cover the manufacturing default. Overall, its a dealership, so I never expect much. But the salesmen I have encountered have been great. The just need to work on their service department and customer service. read more

ROBBER-BARONS DO NOT BRING YOUR CAR HERE FOR REPAIR! So, I bought a CR-V and an extended warranty from this dealership several years ago. For the first time we had an issue that required repair, check engine light, AWD, traction lights all came on at the same time. We dropped the car off overnight, received a notice that they have the car the following day. We hear nothing else until near close of business that they won't look at it until the following day. That's fine and understandable. Then today, we get a call that they want almost $400 for the DIAGNOSTIC alone. Even with the warranty, I'm told that I'm on the hook for that diagnostic fee. I obviously rejected service, called AAA and am waiting right now for the tow truck to take the vehicle OURISMAN Handa in Laurel. We've worked with OURISMAN Honda before - where they are honest, fairly priced, and do excellent work. DO NOT BRING YOUR CAR FOR REPAIR TO HERSONS HONDA. The sales department may be fine, but they charge you the max possible for any and all services and repair. I was told that the reason for the rediculous DIAGNOSTIC fee is that "I have to pay my technicians". I'm sorry, but an OBD-II scan should not cost $400, and if your techs need an entire day to run a diagnosis on a vehicle that has been regularly serviced here at the same location for 5+ years, and the warning lights came on at the exact same time (meaning one issue is causing an error cascade), tells me they're either terribly trained, inexperienced, or are padding their invoices. Once again, DO NOT BRING your car here for service. I'd rather be robbed at an independent location where they are scratching by than the Robber Barron management/ownership at Hersons Honda. Came to this location to see if i could find a new car for myself. As always when you go to buy anything the biggest fear is that "they are just trying to get your money" but not for this location. As soon as I walked in i was genuinely greeted. Mr. Kevin A. And Mr. Alpha answered all my questions and really took time and patience to explain different cars and features. Terrible experience today at Herson's Honda. We did some research about their recent deal on the website and we found a great lease deal. When we walked in this afternoon, a sales lady welcomed us and led us to the test drive. Everything went pretty well and we liked the car and her service. When we went back to her office, she offered a sheet listed all the cost about that car including taxes and fees. She offered that we only have to pay $1000 down payment and $229 first month lease payment and we can take the car home. So I clarify with her that the taxes and fees are included in the future monthly lease payment, she said yes. Then I clarify with her again, so first payment (today) $1,229 and future monthly payment $229 for 35 months are all we have to pay, then she said yes. I though that it is a pretty good deal so I sign the credit application to proceed the agreement. She said the car will be ready in 15 mins and she even already gave me the key. I thought it was a done deal. Then her manager came to me and asked me to pay $3,826, which is way over than the number ($1,299) the sales lady talked to me. The manager said something which is totally different with what the sales lady told me. He said that the taxes and fees are not included in the monthly payment and asked me to pay for it. I said that the sales lady talked with me the totally different story. Later on, the manager said one of the worst sentences I ever heard from a sales person. He said: "You have to accept that we make mistakes because we are human beings." I agree that everyone sometimes makes mistakes. But when you are doing business and you make mistakes, you better admit your mistakes and honor your words. Otherwise, you damage your reputation. Maybe the manager thought that I am only one customer so he did not care about how this customer feels. I will never do business with somebody with this kind of mindset. When you are doing business with your customer and think that it is common for people to make mistakes, you are not doing things with correct mindset and you do not care about your customers. You may think I am the only customer with this experience but I will share this experience with my community since it is one of the worst experience I ever had. I bought me third Honda at Herson's recently. The whole operation is top-notch, from sales to service to parts. This review is about Robert, my salesperson. He made the whole process very easy. And when I left the dealership with my new car, he gave me his number and said to call if I had any questions. I have had a few, as I find the manual to be quite overwhelming. So I have called Robert a time or two and have even stopped into the dealer ship to ask a question. Not only is he completely knowledgeable, but he is kind and patient and he gives me as much time I need, explaining things to me in a way I can completely understand. When I leave, he always says to call him or stop by if there is anything I need help with. I'm sure I will again - he is the absolute best ever! read more

Worst service ever. It happened two times already. First time I finish my maintainence (yes I got charged about $1500. I know it's 100k miles so of course there are a lot of replacements going on). That's fine. After going home, my wife starts to smell some gas inside the car every time we start driving. Obviously something is wrong after that expensive maintainence. Call back and have it checked next day and got the answer( oh some engineers forget to screw the lid so something was leaking) yeah very professional. It was no charge so I let it go. Yesterday it happened second time. I had my regular A123 service done there and got charged $200 which is about right. However, it was finished in day time and the headlight was not turned on. When I drive home and tried to turn on headlight, great! The headlight is not working. I call again and they said they gonna check it up today. Here I come just now and they gonna charge me $55 for headlight which was ok before maintainence. This is totally ripoff. I don't know what happened to this dealer but I will never come back here for any service ever! read more

Had a great car buying experience. Have had multiple poor service experiences. Wouldn't have bought my car here if I knew what the service was going to be like. I bought my car during the dreaded March 2020 era. My experience was incredibly pleasant and I was so happy to have Matar sell my car to me. He was incredibly professional and kind. Which was refreshing, as I was a single female purchasing a car, which comes with its own level of anxiety. His manager on the other hand...a fast talker kind of pushy guy. He made a mistake in what car he was selling me and I ended up having to switch the model (HRV with AWD to a HRV sport) and call the insurance with a new VIN all over again. After I bought the car I saw the bad reviews of this place on Yelp and wondered what my service experience would be like. They are accurate. Anyways onto my service dread. About 1 year after buying the car I get a push notification in the Honda app that a part was recalled (fuel pump). I call the dealership to ask if it's something urgent I need to take care of immediately. Sadly I'm informed Matar is gone. I speak to the new guy. he said it's serious I need to book a service job immediately. I go to do so and am told they don't have the part yet. So I wait 2 weeks call again, again no part but I'm told I should have already received something in the mail about this. no mail. Call again 2 weeks later and ask if they have the part before booking. they say they've got the part and book me an appointment. I get a call 2 min later saying no part. okay so why was I told they had one? I call a few weeks later again told I should have gotten something in the mail with when a part was coming in. No mail. Finally WEEKS (maybe months) later I call and they have the part. they said bring it in 1/2 tank of gas. at this point my oil life light comes on and the car is suggesting 1A maintenance. so I schedule both services together. I drop it off at the dealership with a little less then a half tank of gas in it. The Honda service tech tells me they can't take my car because it should be 1/4 full. I ask her to double check b/c I was told 1/2. she was very nice about this and checked and said they can do it at 1/2. she then said they need access to the entire body of the car. this would have been good to know before today. I had to quickly try to move everything in the car to the front seat. I was told the car would take 4 hours over the phone. in person was told it would take ALL DAY. what even?? A few weeks later I'm driving the car and the tire pressure light comes on. the tires look fine. I'm thinking this is something related to the maintenance. MONDAY I call the Honda dealership to get a service appt to get the tire pressure checked. I was told service was busy and I should leave my cell number so they can call me back. I called at 10:30am and by 4:30pm nobody had called me back. so I personally called back. I was told the earliest appointment was FRIDAY. So I drive the car around like this all week. I go in on Friday and was told this is likely due to the tire rotation they did. I waited 1 hour and was told by someone else the tires were overfilled. That's weird. I tried to ask the Honda technician about this and they basically accused me of filling up the tires on purpose. I said I didn't do this and asked for more info and the tech basically told me how to walk myself out and walked away. Like this dude didn't give A FUCK. If I was willing to go to an air pump and figure out my tire pressure situation I wouldn't have waited an entire week to have my car seen at a dealership.. STAY TUNED FOR MORE. read more
