If you're a woman shopping for a car - avoid this dealership at all costs. I have never once experienced the amount of unprofessional behavior (and quite frankly, blatant sexism and condescension) as I witnessed today from the manager of this location. I came car shopping with my father (and they were well aware that I - not my father - was purchasing the car), and not once did the manager address me when discussing the price of the car, except for lecturing me on whether or not I would be a good candidate for buying a hybrid. I have done my research in terms of whether or not I'd believe the car would be a good fit to me - which I should not have to justify to the person attempting the make a sale in the first place. The manager only addressed me to say that I "should do my research on the car" as "unless you are getting greater than 12,000 miles, you shouldn't be getting a hybrid because disposing the battery would cause more damage to the environment." I have a minor in environmental sciences. I know the environmental impact it would have. A simple no would have sufficed in terms of whether or not they were willing to negotiate the price of the vehicle. I would have been willing to purchase a different car as the one we were discussing was not even in the color I wanted, but after this experience - ABSOLUTELY not. read more

Avoid this dealership. There are others. Bait and switch is their game and it's illegality doesn't stop them from using it compulsively. The dealership gave me a written quote for a new Honda by email. I asked them to clarify that the price was the out the door price and that that price included all the features on the car. They confirmed this in two subsequent emails. That day I made an appointment and arrived as promised early the next morning with the email documentation in hand. The manager told me he'd taken it under advisement and Jonathan, the salesman I was assigned to, promised he would too. Then after nearly an hour of waiting, they gave me a written quote for about $900 more than they had quoted me by email, despite no added features or perks. After a vociferous discussion, they said they'd "honor" the price from the email. How honorable of them. After we agreed to this I decided I wanted them to do something additional that they said would add $500 to the total cost of the car. I was fine with that, and they agreed. Then, AFTER agreeing to this $500 add-on to the original price, they did a second bait-and switch and told me it could be $40 more than what they'd just agreed to. I asked them to put the new price with the added $500 in writing, WITHOUT the $40 tacked on--because we'd finished already negotiating and they should not change the price again! They nevertheless tacked on the $40 in their second written quote. At this point I told Jonathan I would buy my new Honda elsewhere and congratulations, he and Herson's had just earned a review of 1 star. Who knows how much time and money they would have tried to bleed out of me if I'd stayed. The potential for added haranguing seemed endless. Their approach to the deal seemed slimy, exploitative, and greedy. They lost a sale over $40. Especially pathetic since I had just finished telling the salesman how irritated I was the first time they tried to bait-and-switch me. It seems that Herson's knows only one thing: business by bait-and-switch. They are blind to business by respect, business by building trust, business by treating a customer like a human being. Shop: I'll let the technician know. Tuesday Shop: The technician wasn't in today. Me: Please tell him that my battery is still draining. I'm pretty sure it's the sliding door mechanism. Shop: The door? Um. OK. Wednesday Technician: This is the technician calling. Your battery won't hold a charge. It needs to be replaced. Me: Yes, I know. It's still draining, and I'm pretty sure the problem is with the sliding door mechanism. Technician: The door? Huh. OK. I'll take a look at that. Thursday Technician: We replaced your battery. When would you like to pick up your van? Me: What about the door? Technician: The door? What do you mean? 2 Minutes Later Me: Is this the service manager? Y'all seriously need to check the sliding door on my van. Manager: The door? Hang on. (Brief pause.) The technician assures me there's nothing wrong with it. Me: Dude. Please. Just go and check. Manager: (Dubiously.) OK. I'll call you right back. 15 Minutes Later Manager: Did you know there's a problem with your door? It might take us another day or two to pull the door apart and figure out why it won't open. We'll need to keep your van over the weekend. Me: (Sound of eyes rolling right out of their sockets.) OK. That's fine. Please let me know what you find out. Late Monday: Me: (On the phone) Hi, can you tell me what's going on with my van? Technician: We're still not seeing any drain on the battery. Me: What about the door? Technician: The door? What about the door? Two Minutes Later Me: Is this the service manager? Manager: Yes. Me: You were supposed to be taking apart the door on my van. You told me last Thursday that it wasn't opening. You said you needed me to leave it over the weekend so you could diagnose the problem. Manager: Um. Well, the service order here doesn't say anything about a door. It says your battery has been draining. Me: You are the fifth person I've had the same conversation with. What kind of circus are you running over there? Have you been renting my van out? Did you use it in the commission of a felony? Can you maybe try to put that crack pipe down for one whole minute? Manager: I'm very sorr... Me: What time are you open until? An hour later Me: You do realize that I brought this vehicle to the dealership because you're supposed to be the definitive experts, right? I had multiple dealings with the Service Department here. TLDR: This place is very dishonest and also way overpriced. 1st time I took in my car: Cost me over 300 dollars to get my pair of keys. Told me I had other issues in my car and quoted Engine Oil : $251.89. 2nd time I took in my car: Service Department inspected it and told me my AC Compressor needed replacement. They quoted me $2300. I took it to a different local mechanic and they found it was the hose that was leaking and got it repaired for 10th of the price. They are literally scammers dressed in Honda. Don't go there. This young man was honest, forthright, and super helpful, chatting with me through a test drive of a 20222 CR-V and working with me to get the vehicle to a price that my wife and I could handle, chip shortage notwithstanding. Ultimately, when it seemed we would be going to another dealership with our business, Andrew handled it with ADMIRABLE aplomb, being honest even to the end. Pretty disappointed in the recent service I've received. I brought my car in because of an issue with my windshield. I was told by American Honda to bring in my car for inspection- and it was looked at the manager, Matt. He's a nice and pleasant person- he looked at it and took some pictures. I was then told to contact American Honda to try and get this issue resolved as it may be a warranty defect. American Honda called me twice and I returned each call. After that, no communication until I tried to reach out, again. Their decision was that it was not a warranty defect and I would have to get it fixed on my own. This decision was based off of pictures and speaking with the manager. I asked for a second opinion (someone in service preferably) and reasoning on why it's not covered under warranty if I can't be given a reason why it was damaged. The representative, Alan, just said that "it was just a decision we made" because the car was purchased 17 months ago. He also said it was sooner, they may be able to help. I've been with Honda since 2010 (with this being my second Civic) and this has been the most disloyal service I've had. my Odyssey had a major electrical issue and transmission issue that was intermittent, so I brought it in to have the dealer look at it. this is the FOURTH time a dealer has looked at it to no avail. INSTEAD OF DIAGNOSING MY PROBLEMS, they told me that it needed new filters, brakes, fluids, oil, and spark plugs! That would be fine if it was true, BUT I had just changed all of that in the last 4000 miles! All new! When I asked about the problems that I was having, the tech said it would take at least $800 to begin to diagnose it, so he didn't bother, since that was a lot of money. If I could give this review negative stars I would. This has been by far the worst customer service I have ever experienced in my life. Not only did the salesman completely lie, but the manager had zero accountability for his mistakes. Furthermore they did not even apologize a single time. It all began when I came in shopping for a Honda Civic coupe. They did not have the model that I was looking for, so they then looked into bringing one in for me. After they claimed they found the specific model and build I wanted we proceeded to negotiate and agree on a price. They promised that I would have my car in by Wednesday/Thursday latest, which was perfect because the car would be ready for me once I came back from out of town(I had a vacation) the following Monday. I planned everything out to a T because I recently moved and needed a car. Anyways, the dealership and I came into an agreement and I signed a paper and put a deposit to get that car.... Now here's where everything went downhill.. I was out of town on my vacation and Kevin (salesman) did not take the initiative to give me updates and communicate truthfully with what was happening. To begin 1. They never had "dibs" on the vehicle they PROMISED I would get. Another dealership had it requested already for a different buyer... 2. I'm flying back home into the US and once I landed I turned on my phone to receive a text, not voicemail, a TEXT saying "Hello Savannah good morning, i tried reaching you in regards of the civic coupe. We have bee trying to get the car i spoke with my manager and the vehicle that was waiting at the port and showed up in our system was already on hold from another dealership. We have found another vehicle in Pennsylvania that we can have come in. I just wanted to check in with you because the car will have at least 200 miles on it and i want to make sure thats okay before we bring it in." Not only was this text unprofessional, but I was absolutely unaware that I was not guaranteed this car to begin with. This completely caught me off guard. I was under the impression and had the expectation that the car would be ready for me to take home when I came back from vacation. Kevin never once communicated the situation and that there was a chance I would not get this car.. (if he would of communicated this to begin with, then this would have never happened). Furthermore, since when is it okay for a salesman to have a serious conversation through text? It's completely unacceptable and he should have not text me something I did not even know about to begin with. 3. After this whole ordeal unrivaled, the manager was a complete moron. He never apologized a single time, offered anything, or take any accountability. Wait it gets even better... even after they messed up multiple times, I gave them a chance to redeem themselves because I understand that miscommunications and things occur sometimes... But then when we start talking about the car in Pennsylvania, which Kevin (salesman) said that we would be able to get that, the manager later says that he does not know if we would be able to get it. For the second time in a row, the manger and salesman told me two different things. The lack of communication is beyond imaginable.... After this occurred, I was done giving them chances. They were jerks and took zero ownership of any of this. I don't even know how these guys work there, especially the manager. I have never witnessed a manager have as bad of leadership traits as this guy did. He should not be a manager! We decided to give them one last shot, since they are the nearest Honda dealership to us, and we're glad we did! Third time really was the charm :) Dan patiently walked us through the process of buying a car for the first time, and was candid and knowledgeable from the beginning. The process was painless, we didn't feel misled or taken advantage of, and we're very happy with our purchase. I STRONGLY RECOMMEND DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR IN FOR SERVICES AT HERSON'S HONDA IN ROCKVILLE MARYLAND. My 2003 Honda Accord needed a new key with remote car locking capabilities. I have 4 cars and I rarely drive this car. This car was in excellent condition. I explained that I drive it once a week. I explained that I came to the Honda dealership because it was very close to my home. I just needed a key right away because the car remote stopped working andI cant lock the car doors. I specifically requested that I do not want any other checks or services done to my car because I have a Mechanic that do the service on my car. I have all my records. I filled out the service paperwork for a ket to be replaced. I asked was this neccessary because it's just a replacement key. They said I had to fill out the service request and they need to take the car in to replace the key. They asked for the key and came back approximately 1 hour later and the service representative explained that the technician did a courtesy check and informed me that my car needed several things done to it. They asked me if I wanted to get the work done and they would give me a discount. The things that they requested for me to get done was ridiculous. The fee was over $500 dollars. I informed them that I was not happy with them checking my car without permission. I expressed my dissatisfaction. I made a verbal complaint to the management. They later returned me my car after waiting for over 30 minutes and the first thing I noticed qhen I turned on the car was my AC was not working. I was pissed and informed them now my AC was not working and it was working perfectly when i brought my car in for a key. I believe they personally did something to my AC because I complained about the unauthorized service check. I believe that explained why my car took so long after I requested for them to bring my car out. I believe they did something to my car to meet quotas for sales and service due to this being a business that was possible suffering financially. They never offered to repair it and in fact i woulf have declined to get it repaired in fear of them doing something else to my car. I took it to my personall trusted service Mechanic and he took car of fixing my AC. He informed me that it appears that someone cut my AC line. He showed me the cut. After being approved for a 1.9 interest rate on 2017 Honda Accord the year before I went back to the dealership after my car was totaled in a bind trying to get another car what a terrible experience. Was given a 13% interest rate. After being told by America Honda finance and multiple Banks that the interest rate is way too high it just goes to show that when you're in a terrible bind and you really need to get something done this dealerships going to take the worst type of advantage of you. I cannot reiterate how much of a trash box this place is. They tried to sell me a car 2k over MSRP They're crooks, liars, and cheaters. They force you to get "extras" with your new car, and the service area is always a zoo. It's always been a zoo, it has nothing to do with the construction. I took my car here for the "free maintenance". You get what you pay for; they didn't fill up the oil, and the tires were 10 psi under the recommended inflation. They emailed me about it, and I responded. They haven't emailed me back. Every single staff member wore masks and the establishment abided by COVID-19 rules/policies. They weren't pushy when I left the dealership back in July to work on my financial situation with only the occasional email reminder on new deals for the car I was looking at. By the time I was ready to go, Jeffrey (saleswoman) responded to my emails quickly and in a professional manner. They made sure to get me the best deal possible even when I was negotiating between a few dealerships. CJ (car dealership owner) worked with me personally by the time I went in to the business to finalize the purchase and broke down the best financing/lease options in layman's terms. I wanted to be positive, but after three visits (the first two I thought were positive), I now realize that they fit the stereotype of the dealer who is in the business of selling cars and not servicing cars. When you have your car serviced READ THE FINE PRINT! My invoice stated that I declined services that I was never informed about. I noticed this today as I was checking out. The only thing discussed with me was a failed sensor.The previous visit documentation alleged that I was complaining about green leaking fluid (I never made the complaint, the employee at the business claimed that the radiator fluid was leaking from my car despite my stating I wasn't aware of any leakage). I purchased four tires from this dealer because their prices were the same as competitors but had what I thought was a better warranty. I had complained that my TPMS sensor was popping on and off and then was only told about the tire replacement as a solution due to cupping. Not even a week after the replacement, my tire sensors went haywire. Then, when they went to pull the previous invoices, claimed they could only pull items from six months ago so had no proof that these things were noted in previous inspections. When I looked at my receipt that they were unable to find, the documents they presented to me today WERE NOT ATTACHED! I'm sorry, but as a single mom I would not purposely drive my child around in an unsafe car, so I would have taken the time ot research these issues if they were explained. Many of the items on the car were a result of age (My car is ten years old, I get that). However, don't state that the customer declined a service when they were never informed of the service in the first place! I was definitely in the place of buying another car because I love my Honda... this won't be the place that happens however due to their inability to be upfront and honest about issues and problems. I am a person that spends my money with people I can trust, that is no longer the case here. Back story: purchased new Honda Accord some years ago from Herson's and was somewhat put off when Finance Manager tried to upsell several thousand dollars of unneeded security and protection packages, after we had agreed on purchase price. Subsequently, had 2 very negative experiences with their service department (coupled with very good service experiences at 2 other Honda dealerships) and decided I would never set foot in Herson's again. Fast forward to this week. Looking at used Honda CRV's and Herson's had a potential one. I figured it's been 8 years; maybe they have changed. Made an appointment and came there expecting car would be ready to look at. Wrong! The appointment process at Herson's only generates an email to you saying you have one; it never actually goes to the sales department saying someone is coming. Duh? Anyway, it took Herson's 25 minutes to locate the car while I waited. Long enough to see the $5000 "market adjustment" upcharge they were applying to a new Kia and long enough to see the usual smarmy sales tactics. I left with nothing but distaste for the dealership. The sales agent, Matar, is very helpful in printing out the car insurance ID card. This was the first time I brought my Honda CRV in for service after the free oil changes that came with car purchase. The dashboard said A7 service needed-this is oil change and replace brake fluid. When I called to make the appointment, I asked for the price of each and was told $65 for oil change and $120 for brake fluid. After I brought the car in, the service tech called and quoted a high price for the brake fluid, but said it would be reduced to $144 because I bought my car at Herson's. When I said I had been told $120, I was told I heard this wrong, and they would not do the service for what they quoted to me before I brought the car in. $120 doesn't sound anything like $144. They already had my car, and I was busy, so I had the work done.Very dissatisfied with my service expereince. read more

I walked in, told him what I was looking for, he immediately got keys and showed me the car. I started asking him very specific and directed questions. I tried to see if he would give me REAL answers or if he would BS me like all the other car salesmen I've worked with. Aaron remained calm the whole time. He never tried to "sell" me on anything, and he answered all my questions honestly. He told me his honest opinion about certain models. He told me the Pros and Cons of going up a model or down a model. He made the decision very clear to me and gave me the confidence I require in making a very logical and practical decision. When it came time for the sales part, he gave me a phenomenal starting rate. I did my research before hand so I knew it was good. My experience with the service department at Herson's has been dismal. My CR-V has a very annoying rattle, which I have shown them through a Youtube video. They claimed to fix it once. When waiting to get my keys, I stood around for over ten minutes while waiting for any service member to acknowledge me. I can't believe that the quality of customer service exists. This last time, I told them what the exact problem was. Herson's drove the car several times, claiming the issue could not be heard. I nicely picked up the car, this time knowing I would hear it soon afterward. Sure enough, I took a YouTube video showing that three miles after I picked up the car, the rattle occurred again. I don't know what to do. Herson's claimed their technician and two drivers took the car out and claimed there is no sound. Yet it happens right away when I drive it. I will take my car elsewhere. Last Monday I called Sport's maintenance department to inquire as to whether they could look at my car, which wouldn't turn on. Eventually, the AAA guy found the issue and started it at my house, but I wanted to be double sure that all was okay. The guy from Sport maintenance was unnecessarily rude and dismissive to me. It was at that point I decided that I had enough of giving Sport my business. This attitude is something I faced from Sport maintenance staff over the years despite my over a decade of using Sport's Service center and buying my 2016 civic at the dealership. I called Herson's and they were helpful and told me to come down to check on my car, even though they were busy. While there I traded in my civic for a CRV. Mike was very helpful; however, I could not endure having to bring in my car for any issues or service to Sport's team any longer. Took in my boss's Honda CRV for scheduled maintenance and pulled into the service lane where a nice gentleman came out immediately, asked a couple of questions and took my keys. Then he walked me to the waiting area which had a (quite good) coffee dispenser and two large boxes of donuts. I found a comfortable private cubicle to rest and watch tv and charge my phone. They came and found me ten minutes before the original allotted time frame. Done and out the door. The reason for 3 stars? It's this thing that happens at every dealer's service dept and Herson's is apparently no different. The lot jockeys whose whole mission is move the car a few feet from the service entrance to a spot, then to a service bay, then to a pick up spot...always manage to screw with things inside the car that there is no need to. They use the radio and in my case, opened the sunroof also. No reason for this and no reason they can't put it back to the way it was when I gave them the car. If you cannot help yourself and must play with my car's controls for the few seconds you are in it, at least put things back to how they were. Turn off the radio, close the sunroof! I mean, seriously? Is this some kind of mental defect in these guys that they MUST play around in all the cars!? You are in the car for roughly 60 seconds! Stop it, please! read more

The dealership is dishonest. Asked for a quote. Received 2, both higher than what is listed in site. I call and ask for e price. It's higher than quoted price. I question them on it, after being put on hold 3 times, am told it was a "mistake" the mistake has been up a week. Now the say going to change. Isn't that illegal. Going back to business 101? AVOID THIS DEALERSHIP AT ALL COSTS. Dishonest and they try to rob you of your money. I went for an oil change and they didn't change the filter(which is supposed to be included with an oil change). When I called to ask why they didn't change the filter, they said that you have to legitimately request a filter change. They are liars and thieves. DO NOT GO HERE. Jazz didn't want to negotiate on a used 2016 Honda Accord. He claims they're like Carmax. Before this, he told me we could negotiate if I put in a credit application. The dealership is very unprofessional with young people cursing, and not greeting new clients. The person who showed me around the lot was nice, Luis. However, he is young and doesn't understand boundaries. He made several sexual suggestions during my test drive including offering a massage. Please save yourself the sexual harassment and poor management by skipping a visit to this dealership. I'll be complaining to corporate ASAP. read more

Don't trust their service department. My 2017 Honda Civic condenser went out. My wife sat in service 3 hours past the appointment time to be told there was "physical damage" and wanted to charge $1300 to replace it. I inspected the unit and found not only the damage (which appeared man made as the metal fin was only slightly bent), as well as what was clearly oil/fluid leaking out of the condenser. It was clear to me that they did not run a dye test or even test the condenser to find the leak. I did some research and found a Honda Service Bulletin 19-091 that extends the condenser warranty (if there is no physical damage causing a leak), as it is the number one complaint at carcomplaints.com. I took it to a different dealership who ran proper tests and is replacing the condenser, under warranty, as they determined the leak was happening where there was visible fluid. Waits for service are always too long. I made an appointment to have one flat tire replaced. Total time here is estimated to be four hours. When I checked in no mention was made of how long this was going to take. Why bother to make appointments if they can't adhere to them. read more
