Love the fried chicken here. Every night market I look forward to the chicken wings. They are crispy and flavorful and can't wait to go back. The service is great very helpful and welcoming.

New. Golden. Daisy. All auspicious words to welcome a golden beginning--Happy New Year! While New Golden Daisy is known for chicken drummettes, their other BBQ items are just as outstanding. The BBQ pork for example is slightly sweet, savory, salty, and smoky. The roasted duck is flavorful, crispy skin with succulent duck meat. And the roasted pork (Siu Yok) is great too with crackly crispy skin. An awesome Chinese BBQ spot in Chinatown. Service efficient and ambiance is that of a takeout place. Love that I can do takeouts and via a few popular delivery apps. Located on Stockton between Jackson and Washington.

I dropped by on Super Bowl Sunday to get some wings, since I haven't had New Golden Daisy in a long time. If you are not familiar with this place, it's a Chinese-style deli selling all sorts of dishes and Chinese barbecue by the pound. I arrived around 1:30 PM; there were three people ahead of me, and I waited about five minutes to place my order. I was originally going to get a mix of chicken wings and drumettes, but they brought out a fresh batch of drumettes, so I ordered those instead. I got three pounds at $7.99/lb (I think the wings are around $10/lb) which was pretty reasonably priced. It smelled so good I couldn't resist eating one on my way out. The drumette was piping hot, the meat was juicy, and the batter was crispy and chewy--I believe it's rice flour--and loaded with flavor. For Super Bowl Sunday, you are better off skipping all the over-hyped wing spots and supporting these Chinese delis that are always reliable.

Very good chicken feet. They sell it by the pound so you can tell them exactly how many pieces you want to eat. I ordered it both days I came and I snacked on it all over San Francisco. I really recommend trying it if it is something you are into.

despite the long lines always forming outside of good mong kok, the real place that deserves all the attention is new golden daisy. the fried chicken drumettes are to die for. i've been eating them ever since i was a kid and my grandma would walk to chinatown to get them for us. the batter is crispy, sweet, and salty. the chicken is juicy, yet not oily. it's somehow always hot and fresh when we get it. there's always some bits of batter that get fried (we call this bonus), and those are the nicest little surprises. absolutely love this place!

I had the best meal ever when I had food delivered to me from the restaurant. The duck with steamed cabbage and steamed rice was finger licking good. I highly recommend this place if you are ever in San Francisco! I may order food from here again sometime. The service was nice and the ambiance of the place was amazing from what I've read in other reviews. I give them 5 stars !

Best. Fried. Chicken. In. China. Town. Hands. Down. Anytime I visit China town I have to leave with 2lbs of fried chicken from New Golden Daisy and a 1/2lb of BBQ Pork. I love how authentic the food tastes, with a genuine taste of the chicken with no sauces, or rubs, just good ol' fried chicken! The BBQ Pork is finger licking good and smacks so hard! Our boxes can never make it fully to the car without myself or fiancé taking a taste, we latterly stand 5' from the front door and have a taste of a wing or two before we keep going. I will always keep coming back if they keep up the quality of fried chicken! Cheers!

I have been here many times and this time I went the lady scammed me. The food is good but I do not appreciate being scammed because I do not speak good Cantonese. She noticed that and took advantage of the situation. I got a pork belly, the sign says $14.99 and I got a pound of chashu which should of been $20 (see their menu). I didn't notice this until after but she intentionally added on $4-$5 each per line item. Doesnt matter if food is good. This place has no integrity and scams people, their customers, in broad daylight. Do not come here ever if you want to support an honest business.

You just have to try their chicken feet! They're so moist! I'll definitely come back for more. The store is not busy compared to the Good Mong Kok next door - so they don't like us standing at their window while waiting for Good Mong Kok... but honestly, that's their failure. By waiting in line and staring at the window, I got so much cravings for their food. If you love fried foods, go here and get some. Like all the bakery nearby, there is no seating so if you want to eat those food right away, make sure to bring your own napkins/utensils and stand around to eat!

While we were waiting for our table, we saw 2-3 couples get turned away. The restaurant is small, but the interior is well-decorated. It pays homage to HK posters, music, and culture. They offer two complimentary small bites of smashed cucumber and peanuts. - XO Escargot: a must order, the dish only comes with 6 pieces but it's so worth it. The sauce is garlicky, buttery, and each bite with the milk bread is so good. The bread also has a crispy outer layer while the inside is super soft. - Eggplant: at first, we thought the dish was good, but the pieces on the bottom that soaks up all the sauce makes the eggplant full of umami flavor. This paired so good with rice. - Mapo Tofu Spaghetti: just as you imagine, but very yummy. I wish there was more of a numbing spice personally! - Black Pepper Steak: The steak was cooked perfectly to medium rare and the sauce was very yummy. This dish did not blow me away like some of the others but was still good nonetheless. I really wished we could have try the Singapore Chili Crab, but that would have been too much food. Our server was also fantastic and so kind, I wish I caught her name. Will def be back!

Nostalgic interior with posters of Canto celebrities on the walls and Chinese pop music playing in the background, but not to point where it was drowning out conversation. We had the fried rabbit (limited quantities), green beans, the claypot with Chinese sausage and bacon, the chili crisp pig head, escargot with XO sauce and milkbread, the fish fragrant eggplant (aptly named), the fried squab, the HK black pepper steak, and the abalone special over vermicelli. For dessert, we had the mango pudding, red bean shaved ice with culde de leche , and the huckleberry silken tofu. Like I said, we came hungry. We did struggle to figure out how to go about splitting the abalone over vermicelli amongst our group since everything was piled on a small abalone shell and not enough abalone to go around for everyone. The HK black pepper steak was very good and cooked perfectly medium rare, but wasn't a fan of the raw onions that accompanied it. Everything else was scrumptious! My parents would most definitely gawk at how much we spent on our meal, but I think overall it was worthwhile and I'm glad we got to try it.

They were just launching their kiosk orders and I was directed to use that for ordering and ask for help if needed. I chose soup dumplings and garlic noodles. I wasn't prompted about any additional sauces for dipping and I wish I had been offered them or have them as an option in the kiosk. It was ready pretty quickly and the fast walk "home " was perfect because I was super excited to dig in! Noodles were a little dry and I wish there was more sauce or some soup sauce or something but the actual flavors were well balanced and satisfying. I love this so much better than the standard buns. I also loved the fried string beans. It was tempura fried and very light. It didn't taste greasy at all. Out of three places we went to dinner for work, this was my favorite by far. It is right in Ghirardelli Square so there's a lot of things you can walk around and do either before or after. My husband and I had an entree each and dumplings, as well as a drink each, and the bill was low considering the amount we had. We did have a reservation. It seems difficult to get a table without one. For our appetizer, we ordered the vegetarian mushroom dumplings. I am not usually a fan of mushrooms (I find the mushy texture unappetizing), but they cooked them perfectly crispy, and they were delicious. I was surprised to have the dumplings served with no sauce to accompany them, however, and did not get a chance to request any. I had the mapo tofu (vegetarian), and it was a decently large serving. It was delicious, and the sauce was perfectly seasoned. Their green onions were my favorite part. My husband got the Peking duck, and I had to steal one of the buns it came with--it was so soft. The food came out pretty quickly, and the staff was attentive overall. I had one slightly awkward interaction with a waiter who seemed a little impatient when I confused myself while ordering, but otherwise the service was great. For drinks, we had an espresso martini and a lychee martini, and they were delicious. Do beware that there is an automatic 18% gratuity added to every check. This is less than I usually tip, so it did not negatively impact my experience. It's a great spot to bring friends or for date nights. I will be returning!
