We were visiting Sacramento for the first time and just staying one night, so I was looking for good places to eat. We love buffets, and when I saw that Hibachi Buffet was only $23.99 on the weekend, I was honestly surprised. That's a great deal, especially with how expensive everything is these days. When we arrived, I was a little worried there might be a long wait, but we were seated within minutes. When you enter, you pay first, then they walk you to your table. A server checks your receipt and brings any drinks you order. Super easy and efficient. Let me just say, this is probably the best Chinese-style buffet I've been to in California. My all-time favorite buffets are in Vegas on the Strip, but for this price, Hibachi Buffet easily ranks near the top. The variety and value are impressive. I especially liked that they have a Mongolian barbecue station where you can pick your own ingredients and the chef cooks it fresh for you. They also had a wide range of sushi, which were labeled clearly, plus a selection of soups, and tons of hot dishes ranging from classic Chinese to American comfort food. What really won me over was the crab. I always feel like I get my money's worth when I can fill up on crab. They had two types the night we visited. One was deep-fried blue crab, kind of done in a salt and pepper style, and the other was Dungeness crab cooked in a ginger sauce. Both were really flavorful, and I ended up having three full plates of crab. I tried a few other dishes too, but honestly I just came back to the crab again and again. One thing I noticed and appreciated was how well they manage the food stations. There were two or three employees constantly monitoring everything. They wore headsets and would call into the kitchen whenever something was running low. That meant fresh food came out quickly and there was rarely any empty trays or long waits. Very smart system and it kept the buffet moving smoothly. I really wish we had a place like this in the Bay Area. I am not usually a huge fan of buffets because they lack in flavor and quality, but this place changed my mind! They have a large variety of Asian food. Their raw fish and sushi was actually pretty good in quality. Their hibachi section has ribeye and galbi. My friends and I are huge fan of crawfish, and the ones here are huge and meaty! $25 per person is a steal. It's not the best food in the world I mean c'mon it's buffet food but damn it was actually pretty good for buffet food and the value just made it even better. I ran thru 3 full plates so I def got my money's worth. The hibachi isn't really a hibachi but more like a Mongolian BBQ. It's pretty solid tho and kinda cool to have it at a buffet where it's made to order. I've also never seen a buffet with crawfish boil. The seafood and sushi rolls tasted pretty solid and food seemed to be replenished pretty quickly. Overall pretty impressed by the value. After seeing them on social media in the past, I was finally in the area and gave them a try. They have a large variety of hot foods as well as sushi, dessert, and a hibachi grill where you fill a plate with raw meat, noodles and veggies for the chefs to cook up. Some of the hot food was good while others were just okay. The sushi wasn't bad although the nigiri I had could have been colder. I enjoyed the hibachi flavors but thought the beef was just a little bit tough. Service isn't bad although they don't really interact with customers after ringing them up and bringing them to their table. The bussers are pretty efficient and quick to grab your dirty dishes when you get up for more food. It can get a little loud in there and the parking lot can get tight but there was plenty of seating inside and I didn't have to wait for a table although I saw a huge party waiting since they had a ton of people together. For $17 during lunch on a weekday, I say it's worth a shot. read more

For lunchtime, it's a very good deal for Citrus Heights area. That said, after a few bites my stomach started telling me this definitely was not the best life decision, so I decided to stop while I was ahead. Once seated, we tackled the hibachi grill section as the food will take some time to cook and the wait might be long. There are veggie options, protein options and noodle options. Parking was packed and we thought it was because of El Tapatio. We walked in and it was not what we expected. The building itself was pretty big and well decorated. The restaurant was packed as well. We paid at the counter and the prices were pretty decent. Soda and other drinks costs extra. We were given a buzzer. We didn't have to wait too long before we were seated. We were shown to our table and the area was pretty cramped. To accommodate all the people, most of the tables were crammed close to each other. The buffet section had a big variety of dishes as well as sushi and hibachi. The There were plenty of seafood and vegetarian options as well. Even dishes for the kids to enjoy, like pizza and fries. Most items were replenished quickly. The most popular dish was the sautéed crab. It ran fast and took a little longer to be refilled. Overwise everything looked clean and fresh. The food was pretty good, much better than we expected. We haven't always had the best experience with Asian buffets but this was great. We enjoyed some items over others, but nothing tasted bad. I have been wanting to come here for a while after hearing the reviews, and I finally made the 45 minute drive this weekend. Is it worth the hype? For the price you pay, I think it is. Unlimited food that includes two type of crabs, frog legs, sushi/sashimi, oysters, and a wok/hibachi area for only $25 during a weekend dinner?! You have to pay extra for drinks but I'm a water girl so that's OK lol. My favorite items were the sashimi and sushi, by far, and the hot wok area. I made garlic fried rice with mushrooms and steak. So good! I wish the carrots were cut smaller though as they were undercooked. The sashimi was very refreshing; I just wished they marked what the fish were and put out more since they go fast. My least favorite items were the baked oysters (too overcooked and oceany) and the calamari (not fresh enough). Dessert was a bit limited. I didn't like the custard in the banana cream dessert but the raspberry mousse was pretty good. I would come back if I was in the area again. read more

I love Hibachi Buffet and Grill. This place is well kept and the service is phenomenal. I'm a big fan of buffets and one hungry Saturday, I learned just how much I love this specific buffet. It reminds me of casino buffets in Vegas without the price tag. The food is all fresh and chefs continuously change out and bring out new food. The only reason I'm giving it 4 stars is because I haven't ventured out to their grill to order anything but from the looks of it, I can tell that the grill option is very similar to Mongolian BBQ where you pile your bone with fresh veggies and frozen meats and it is cooked to perfection for you to enjoy. You pay up front (they accept most payment methods except American Express). The front desk staff weren't the friendliest--they seemed focused on keeping the line moving, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. Initially, they told us our table was ready, but due to a mix-up, we had to wait an additional 10-15 minutes to be seated. The buffet offers a wide selection of dishes, and for the price, it's a solid deal. Our group of 9 came out to around $260 total after tax and tip, which is VERY reasonable. The price for the variety of food served was very fair (adult was $14.99 and kids 7-10 was $8.99) but the food quality was just okay. The buffet had Mongolian bbq, sushi, salad, Western hot foods, dim sum, fruits, dessert, and ice cream station. Wow the place was reeeally clean. Staff were actively picking up finished plates, the buffet counters were spotless, and even the presentation of the food was spectacular. I came during lunch with the fam and tried as much as I could. My favorite was the nigiri sushi. The salmon was FRESH. Not even fishy, was super buttery, and the rice was perfectly seasoned! That was a huge win in my opinion. No one likes under-seasoned rice. Perfectly cooked rice too. It was just...superb for a buffet to offer such exquisite sushi. For the rolls, they really do stuff 'em. They do not skimp at all! The chinese food buffet was awesome! You can tell they used the best ingredients. Super fresh, and they taste better than most Chinese restaurants. The honey walnut shrimp? INSANELY good. Like, super crunchy and didn't even get soggy at all. I wish they had a bigger soup selection though. The only part I did not like at all was the Hibachi grill where you get custom dressed noodles and they fire it up for you at the grill. It was insanely bland and didn't seem like they added anything to it. No sauce, nothing. I'd skip that next time, cuz I ended up scarfing it down when it was incredibly tasteless, just wishing I had scarfed down more sushi instead. Get the chowmein, it tasted waaay better than this. We would've appreciated if they explained how everything works especially since it was our first time here. We figured it out on our own after but still would've appreciated a run through. it's $16.99 for lunch and $23.99 for dinner. we also got two sodas which were $2.59 each we came 10min before they started offering dinner but they did not explain that to us. we were listening to the customer next to us who had to ask them about the pricing. So came in Today for dinner with my husband most of the food was cold and it was packed and made you feel uncomfortable. The food wasn't as good as the 1st time I came in. The bathrooms did need to be cleaned as well and they did seem to have a lot of under people working and one waiter asked my husband if he wanted his drink refilled but then handed it off to someone else to do it.
