Hideaway pizza was great! The place has a great vibe. It's very family friendly and in a great location off University and Hardin. We went on a Saturday evening and waited about 30 minutes to be seated (party of 4). We were seated outside on the 2nd floor. It was 94 degrees outside and there were plenty of fans with misters that kept it cool and fly-free. The view of the sunset was enjoyable and there were large tv screens to watch the football games. Our waitress Kaila was very attentive. We ordered fried pickles, fried mushrooms, and fried mushrooms as appetizers. The pickles were thick, which made them crunchier, and crispy! The mushrooms, surprisingly, were very crispy given how moist a mushroom can get when cooked. The mozzarella sticks were large too! For the main course, we ordered a medium Big Country pizza, small cheese pizza and the Meatball Hero. All three were delicious! We ordered something new, something outside a traditional pizza flavor. The Big Country had polish sausage, hamburger beef, pepperoni, bacon and cheddar cheese. Again, not the typical pizza and it was soooooo good! The chips included with the meatball sandwich were super tasty too. I think they make them fresh. When the pizzas arrived we thought they look too small and maybe not enough for us. We were wrong lol. My son is 13 and he ate the entire small cheese pizza. It's a total of 6 slices, but they aren't very large. The perfect size if want to go solo or share with one other person who may not have a big appetite. The Big Country pizza was a medium size. My husband I split it but it was way more than enough. The slices are a little larger and we took half the pizza home. From a $$ perspective, we ordered 2 apps, 2 pizzas, 1 sandwich and 4 drinks. It was roughly $80 (not including tip). Hideaway Pizza off of N Hardin Blvd in McKinney, Tx is one of our top 5 favorite places to eat!!! The food, service, staff, and manager's are consistently super awesome!!! Regardless of how crazy busy they are the STAFF IS ALWAYS INCREDIBLY KIND and ALWAYS READY TO SERVE!!! I would say we eat here at least 3-4 times a month. The mozzarella sticks were large and crispy and gooey on the inside, tasted great. We built our own pizza - medium hand-tossed crust with curl-up pepperoni, sausage and bacon. I wish I could say it was as good as the rest of our visit but it was average at best. The curl-up pepperoni was dried out and lacked flavor. We also didn't care for the crust which kind of reminded us of DiGiornio if I'm being honest. The prices though were excellent. We fed 2 adults and one 12 year old for just over $50 before tip. It's hard to find that kind of value these days. Next time, because we'd definitely try it again, we'll go for something else or try the thin crust. Overall, I'd recommend. read more
