    Beautiful place

We added our name to the list... it was a busy morning..... they said 25 minutes... our table was ready in 10.... Jacob was our server.... He was very patient with all of us female's.... all wanting this and that... Jacob was friendly and very knowledgeable about the menu as well as the area... we kept him hopping and he did a great job of keeping up... They're pretty strict with breakfast and lunch menu times... We all ordered different kinds of food... I haven't been disappointed yet... We parked in the parking structure... a few blocks from the beach...

The overall experience was disappointing due to a clear lack of quality control and execution. The fried chicken tenders were unusually dark (overcooking or poor oil management). The flavor and texture reflected that as well. The Hawaiian kimchi fried rice (?)wasn't actually fried. The kimchi tasted raw and barely warmed, mixed into hot rice without proper cooking. It felt unfinished and difficult to eat--I only had a couple of bites before stopping. What made this more concerning was noticing that another table also left more than half of their fried rice untouched, suggesting this wasn't an isolated issue. Overall, the food felt overthought yet under-executed. Some dishes lacked a clear identity and came across as confused rather than intentional. If the kitchen isn't confident in executing certain dishes, it would be better to remove them from the menu entirely. Restaurants should serve food that guests can reasonably enjoy and finish. Creativity is welcome, but it needs to be supported by clarity, consistency, and proper execution--unfortunately, that balance was missing here.

High/ low is a solid brunch spot with spectacular views. I've tried a few things on the menu, but the spicy BLT is my favorite. I love coming here and sitting outside on nice days. Service is a bit slow, but other than that it's great!

Decent joint. Service was fantastic. I had the Hash (was not what I was used to, but was decent), and my wife had a pancakes and sausage. I thought her sausage was delish. We both enjoyed a couple cocktails. Not bad. Love that they are dog friendly. Overall was an average experience. Nothing really "Wowed" us.

This place was great! The location and setting is perfect being right across the beach. The vanilla latte was good. I also got the breakfast burrito (I ate it before any pictures) and it was great! The service was friendly and had good recommendations.

Had a lovely lunch here at High/Low. They have a great outside patio which has nice ocean views from across the street.. The menu has a variation of offerings leaning towards brunch/lunch. I had the grilled cheese & tomato soup & my friend had a yummy egg scramble dish. Friendly & attentive servers. Good spot to bring out of towners

Great breakfast location near the ocean. Make reservations to avoid long wait. You can enjoy a latte while you wait which is delicious. Spent Christmas morning here studying enjoying my coffee which was refreshing. The location is right accross the pier and decor is hip concrete modern inside and oceaside beach wood outside. The staff is always welcoming and very attentive. Would recommend this place.

I've been coming to high/low since it's opening around 5 years ago. The food (classic Southern California/American fare) is consistently delicious. The cocktails are fresh and inventive. When I am wanting a coffee + pastry and a walk on the beach, I love to get an Americano and their almond croissant and stroll the pier. When I want to grab lunch with a friend or bring a guest from out of town to a restaurant with an ocean view, high/low is at the top of my list! I came today with a friend and we enjoyed lunch. She had the rockfish ceviche and I had the chicken and avocado sando. And we both chose a little sparkling wine to go with. The sando was great, with the bread being perfectly buttered and lightly toasted. I was grateful to the server for the suggestion of swapping out the coleslaw for sweet potato fries. My friend said the ceviche, which is served with plantain chips was so good, she ended up scooping up the juice with a spoon! Recieved excellent service- chill, knowledgable about the menu and friendly. The price for a sit down meal is somewhat expensive, but worth it. Will happily pay for scrumptious food and an oceanfront view. High/Low is located in front of and attached to the Mission Pacific Hotel. Parking can be a challenge, but there is a Pay lot nearby and metered street parking. Looking forward to going back soon!

Lovely place to enjoy a drink and appetizers on the patio. Especially liked the garlic fries topped with shaved Parmesan. Waiters are friendly and efficient. Been here three times in a week and will be our go-to while on vacation. Steps from the beach with a great view.

I've been trying this business out since I moved here and they still don't disappoint... my group loved the food. Eggs were cooked perfect, waffles were delicious, tater tots are a little oily so can't eat too many of them but I love the crunch, the clamp chowder was good- not too creamy but make sure you love bacon because its a bit overwhelming in flavor, and the Bloody Marry was great. The view of the ocean is pretty much blocked by the plants in front of the outside dining area, I wish it was more open for the view but you can venture out after dining for an amazing walk down to the beach or at the Pier. The wait was about 20 minuets on Sunday, they didnt take reservations. Enjoy!

After 40 min waiting for the food I left. So annoying when service is so bad. Paid $13 for coffee and orange juice.

Only reason I'm giving it a 3 star is the fact that they had no flavor creamer. The avocado toast was great. The service was great also.

Hoping this review gets some attention with some policy changes so that I can update or remove the review later. Back when the store was Red & White I got food poisoning there twice. I mean serious, went to the ER, tested positive for Salmonella, legit food poisoning. When I called the store after the second time, a staff member literally laughed at me and said there's no way I got food poisoning from them because they wear gloves. The mere fact that someone would think wearing gloves is enough to avoid foodborne illness, was a strong indicator that the staff had not been properly trained. After that I swore off the store, despite it being walking distance from me and a major convenience. Within about 6 months, they were closed. When they reopened as Uncle Anthony's under new management within the same family, I decided tentatively to give them another shot. I started off avoiding produce and only getting prepackaged things - jars, cans, etc. The very first time I attempted produce, I got cherry tomatoes, which when I got home I realized were moldy. Even still, I gave the benefit of the doubt and have been slowly trying more items, and I can confirm I haven't yet gotten sick again. But I've had to be especially careful when checking items here. Produce seems to wilted and/or moldy more often than at other outlets. And I've found dry shelved items months past their expiration dates. It doesn't seem like there is any strict policy of reviewing the freshness of what's in stock. Another example was a premade chicken dish that started smelling rotten within a day or two of purchase, despite being a few days away from the sell-by date printed on the package. Yesterday I purchased some prepackaged potatoes, meant to be microwaved and then mixed with some included seasoning. When I opened the package, at least a few of the potatoes were sprouting. Trying to be reasonable, I cut off the sprouts and heated everything up. But when the first bite gave me a metallic taste that started numbing my tongue, I threw everything away. Went online and discovered those are the exact signs of solanine toxicity in potatoes. I called the store and let them know about the sprouting as well as the metallic taste and numbing sensation. I stopped by today, and all of the potato packages were still out for sale. When I asked why, they said because someone looked at the potatoes and they didn't appear to be sprouting. Regardless, these remaining few packages were being sold for $4 each. So $12 of product being thrown away, versus risking that you're selling toxic potatoes to people after getting a specific call about an issue. I really like the people and the food here in general. And as I mentioned earlier I'm down the street, so going here is a major shopping convenience. But none of that is worth a health risk to the community. So I'm really hoping that while my previous calls and conversations seem not to have had an effect on the store's internal policies, this review will be taken seriously.

This is my (second order) from the Door Dash App website on the Pastrami & Pickles Delicatessen. I…read morestill decided to give this Pastrami & Pickles Delicatessen a Excellent (5 stars rating) because this Door Dash Delivery Company resolved my issue with this missing dessert item today. This is my order that I placed on the Door Dash App this morning. My order was one Pastrami Toasted Sandwich on white sandwich bread. These ingredients included: (lettuce, sliced tomatoes, sliced pickles, and cucumbers with a spicy mustard). The price is $12.99. I also ordered the one Potato Salad. The price is $3.00. My beverage was the one Ginger Ale it was $3.99. For dessert I ordered one cheesecake the price is $5.99. My subtotal was $25.97. The Delivery Fee would have been $6.99 but since I have a Dash Pass Membership I was NOT charged a delivery fee on this online order. The Expanded Range Fee was $1.49. The Service Fee was $4.93 but it was reduced to $2.33. The Estimated Tax is $1.73. This Dasher Tip I had chosen for Armor was $6.00. My total bill was $32.52. My order arrived on time at 8 a. m. from Armor my Dasher Driver and he handed me my order. The Pastrami Sandwich on the white bread with all the healthy ingredients inside was very delicious and I love Pastrami it was piled high inside my sandwich. The Potato Salad was very good and it was a great combo with my deli. sandwich. The Ginger Ale was very refreshing and not too sweet for a soft drink. And for my dessert the one sliced Iced Lemon Loaf Cake was really flavorful and yummy! I ordered one piece of this sliced Cheesecake and the price is $5.99. I dd NOT receive this Cheesecake with my order. Instead, I received a (Substituted Item), it was this one package of this sliced Iced Lemon Loaf Cake and I was still charged the $5.99 almost $6.00 to my NFCU Visa Credit Card Account today. This substituted dessert the one package of the sliced Iced Lemon Loaf Cake doesn't cost $5.99. The same dessert item at Walmart only cost $1.24. There was (no Note) telling me that my Cheesecake which I had originally ordered was missing from my order and it was not available to me their new customer. There should be an explanation telling me their new customer in writing a (personal note) to me that this one Cheesecake was sold out or you need to update your Menu on your website, so your future customers will not have to go through this same issue that I had experienced today with my Door Dash online order. I had to sign into my Door Dash Account and I explained this issue to the Door Dash Delivery Company. I said there was a Missing Item from my order today but I had received a substituted dessert which was the one sliced Lemon Loaf Cake but it's a cheaper price than this Cheesecake for The $5.99. This Door Dash Company made me really satisfied and I was given a credit to my visa credit card account in the amount of $7.03. I can use this credit which will be applied to my next online order that I place on the Door Dash App. This Door Dash Delivery Service really cares about their loyal customers like myself in resolving my issue today. Door Dash gave me Excellent Customer Service today and as always. I also received really delicious deli. food for my lunch time meal.
