We were given an estimated wait time of 35 minutes that ended up being an hour. Once we finally sat down the service was SO slow. 20 minutes to get water. Food took another hour to arrive & they got an order wrong. The wrong order, a simple grilled cheese and bowl of tomato soup that I could whip up in 5 mins, wasn't expedited so we sat there for another 15 minutes waiting for that to come out. Food was mediocre at best. We got zero attention while eating and didn't even see our server again after she took our order. Had to ask two different people for hot sauce. Had to ask for the bill after 20 minutes because they didn't notice we were finished. Had to flag down a server to actually ring us up after waiting to be noticed for another 15 mins. The 3.5 hours spent in this location were not worth the view. Would give 0/5 if it were an option. read more

Great new spot in Oceanside with beautiful views and comfortable outdoor seating. Dog friendly. It's our 4th time here. Food is consistently good, we tried different things and always enjoyed it. As an Oceanside local, I was very excited for this spot to open. I've been a few times now. The food is always good, but the service is awful! They are very disorganized. I went today and was told it would be a 10 minute wait. There were plenty of tables open, yet it took 30 minutes to be seated. And that was only after we asked about an open table. Once we were seated, it took over 10 minutes for a server to come to our table. At that point, we left. Getting any food was going to take even longer. It's such a shame because it's in such a prime location. I won't be going back any time soon. read more

It's a perfect location to have a drink facing the ocean. Comfortable seating and pleasant atmosphere. Good service. This looks like a newer restaurant. I only had Mexican hot chocolate just to experiment. I would recommend others at least to check it out. read more

FOOD EXCELLENT WE HAD THE SALMON SCRAMBLE, TRI-TIP IN EGGS AND CHINESE CHICKEN SALAD. ALL EXCELLENT. SERVICE A LITTLE UNCOORDINATED. Host was also waiter and cut back and forth several times while waiting on us. WE ORDERED THREE HOT DRINKS TO OPEN and two came late with the food. I don't li8ke hot chocolate with chinese chicken salad. Worth a visit. It was windy and cloudy at 1PM. The heaters on the deck didn't do much. The wind went thru the inside area. They could put stage like screens up and block the wind and leave room to walk around Or they could open up the west end of the lobby for more indoor seating options. Hopefully just working out the issues having opened a month ago but not up to par at this point. We were in the area and decided to stop in for lunch. The patio is really nice and the view is wonderful. They do need to invest in an awning or at least a couple more umbrellas as half the tables are in full sun and we saw 3 groups ask to be moved. Drink selection is pretty good but the menu is a little odd. Supposed to be modern American brunch fare but it's a little limited and some items are overcomplicated. Also given the proximity to the ocean, I'd have expected more seafood options than just 2 shrimp dishes. When the actual food arrived it left a lot to be desired. My husbands poached eggs came out cooked hard so he had to wait another 20 minutes for a new entree. The second dish of his came out with way too much sauce so it was a soupy mess. My dish was fine, with the exception of the big chunk of avocado stem in it. We had our son with us but there are zero options for young kids until the evening snack menu (i.e. chicken nuggets) is available so it's hard to find a good option at lunch/brunch time. We ended up getting him a ham and cheese croissant but he wouldn't eat it because it had whole grain mustard baked into it. All in all, as we sadly have come to expect with the waterfront lounge restaurants, they rely on the location to keep them busy and let the quality and service slide. read more

Food was good, but service was not good. I was alone and there were several tables open, but I was only offered a seat at the bar outside. There were a lot of flys as well. I was finally served my salad and iced tea, but then no one ever came back to check on me. I ordered right away when I was seated because I knew what I wanted, but it took over an hour to get my salad, drink and check. I think they completely forgot about the lady next to me as well and she only ordered a salad a well. Not sure what you need to do to up your service game, but I hope you figure it out. read more

Absolutely the worst cheeseburger I've ever had in my life. The meat had no flavor, the "special sauce was a watered down version of thousand island dressing with no flavor. I asked for mustard & the waiter looked at me like it was a foreign substance then proceeded to tell me they "might have" Dijon mustard. He did bring me the Dijon mustard. My side salad was lettuce greens only, no other veggies. The ranch dressing had no flavor either. The diet cola was some off brand from New York & tasted like pencil lead. The best thing about the meal was the tomato on the burger & the view. It's too bad that such an amazingly located restaurant can't even produce a tasty burger. read more

We thought he was being nice so we said yes. We were charged for all of it. When we arrived we were told our wait would be an hour. We were happy to wait for such a beautiful view and menu that sounded delicious. Unfortunately that hour turned into over two hours. We were told that even though there was empty tables they couldn't seat us since we were a group of four and those were intended for a group of six. If you're hungry, this may not be it. Food was ~30 minute wait with no complimentary bread. Overall, the food lacked consistency and wasn't worth the price. We ordered the shrimp roll, fish sandwich, tri-tip melt, and huevos rancheros. If there is anything I would get again, it would be the shrimp roll and that is it. Shrimp roll had a flavorful taste that was super refreshing. The fish sandwich didn't taste fresh, and I regretted getting that over another shrimp roll (which is the same price). Tri-tip melt and huevos rancheros were average. The tortilla in the huevos rancheros was crispy and made very nicely but was essentially refried beans between two crispy whole tortillas topped with eggs, sour cream, and guacamole. Fries and tater tots were ok, nothing special. Our server checked in with us several times to let us know our food was taking a while and ask if there was anything they could do, so kudos for that. Our table was outdoors and warm food turned cold quickly after being served, so I recommend eating indoors if you're ordering hot items. The wind was super cold and only while leaving did we notice the hostess ask the incoming table if they wanted the heater on. That definitely effected my experience, and I wish our table was give that option. Seems like a popular spot for drinks but not sure I'd visit again for the food. read more

Went out for a friend's birthday. Definitely will not be coming back. The food was pricey for what it was. Our server was ok. We asked for things specifically and still didn't get it. There was 9 of us and we were told we couldn't split the check. It is what it is but literally this place made all of us mad for one reason or another. Just because you were about to close is no reason to be rude to paying customers. Still left a tip even though no one else wanted too. My eggs were runny even after asking for them to be "well done".. bacon was undercooked. Nothing was amazing. I may give it one more try and order something different since it was our first visit. Had hopes for this place as I heard the food was great. I did a telephone order for Baja shrimp roll and guacamole and chips and Tri tip sandwich. Ordered a side of fries with the Tri tip and I was literally given like 10 very soggy fries. There were just a little more fries with the Baja sandwich but they were also soggy. The Baja shrimp sandwich basically had no shrimp it looked like tiny cut up pieces of shrimp in a sauce on a roll. Definitely disappointed for the price you pay for sandwiches. Super disappointing trying to grab an easy breakfast staying at the hotel. I'm not expecting a lot but it's a small menu so I figured it's not hard to master a few things not was it super busy. Apparently none of the men employed there understand a mask needs to cover your nose. Makes you wonder if they follow any food safety rules. We ordered sides of eggs, bacon, sausage, and hash browns for our breakfast but instead of giving us a plate with our food, it came out on a bunch of small dishes which seemed a little strange not to combine it not a big issue but lots of little plates were annoying. We ordered the crunchy Hawaiian fried rice & the toes on the nose for breakfast. Unfortunately, we did not enjoy one part of the breakfast. The homemade spam in the fried rice tasted like it was something vegan but based on the description I'm assuming it is not. Not able to identify what it is exactly. Bland and no flavor. The rice was crunchy alright (not sure if it has sat out and dried out for hours). The waffles were by far the smallest and thinnest I've ever seen. The eggs appeared to be cold & reheated by staff before serving. The sage sausage Patty.... Not good! The indoor dining area was so cold no heater on and we were inside. I'm not sure of health code but there were 2 dogs (mind you I love dogs) but these dogs were not service animals. They were allowed to even sit up on the indoor cushioned bench and almost eat off the owners plate. Don't waste your time or money at this business! read more

Great food and location spoiled by the quality of the staff and service. This new restaurant in the grounds of the Mission Pacific is a great addition to Oceanside food options. My wife and I both really enjoyed the quality and taste of the food (the waffles are to die for). Unfortunately the staff and service are well below par, from an uninterested and disheveled Hostess, to a poor server and an ineffective manager. Not the kind of service one would expect at this quality of a hotel. Hoping it will be better when we go again soon. read more

This spot looked promising but didn't quite meet the newly revitalized downtown expectations. The Cardiff crack hash sounded delicious, but it was under seasoned and the tri-tip was over cooked. Make sure to ask detailed questions about the sides as the menu does not state what comes with your food. We ordered a burger & fries but when the food came it was sweet potato fries which was a surprise. When we asked two different staff if we could switch our side for something else (since it wasn't what we expected and was not something we would have ordered had we known) we were told not all their items were in stock since they just opened - I would have paid for substitution, but they didn't have anything. Some other bugs that need to be worked out were the heaters on the patio, it got a little chilly so we asked if they could turn the heater on, but we were told they were not working. The staff was hardworking, but not very knowledgeable about the menu. The banana pancakes were good and the view & atmosphere are fantastic! It's too bad because we were really excited to try this place. It was kind of pricey to walk away feeling like we didn't enjoy our experience. They're still working out the bugs, so perhaps we'll give it another try in the future. read more

They have plenty of wait staff but they either have no one in the kitchen or the kitchen is managed very poorly. The only thing that was quick was the check and we got two within 30 seconds. I've heard good comments before coming out to eat here. So we arrived at the restaurant and it seemed very nice (with Top Guns house next door) until the waiting period for a table began. Finally got a table after 40 minute wait and the girl that came to clean it "did not" know how to properly clean a table, something so simple. We ordered immediately since we saw a disparity in the slowness of the waiters. 30 minutes later we got our food. We ordered the Cardiff Crack Hash, the Avocado Toast and Sweet Potato Fries. The food looked really good BUT of all things it was "cold". In all honesty, the food was good but cold! Lastly, the service, from the moment we asked for a table, waiting, getting the table and the cleaning of the table and receiving the food was terrible and slow. Management needs to apply better leadership and train/coordinate timing with the employees for better customer service. read more
