I was in LA for a book launch and needed a place to finish up work before the event - I love the location off West Adams, so it was kismet that there was a Highland Park location. It's a bigger and def a lot brighter, with so much space to spread out and work. Abundant access of outlets and great wifi was great. The service was fantastic, everyone was so kind and really made me feel welcomed. They also have a no computer policy at 5pm where they turn off the wifi for their dinner service, which i actually think is pretty great. it led me to unplug for a bit before my event, which i loved. lastly, the food was so good! i had lunch and dinner but only took pics of my lunch haha, their lettuce wrapped fish sandwich was sooooo good, i wanted more. i will 10/10 be coming back next time im in the area. read more

Pleasant experience having a late lunch here.   Came on Sunday with a reservation at 1pm. However, the traffic was pretty bad and the parking was also equally as bad, so we were a bit late to our reservation. We called the restaurant and we were able to adjust our reservation time though, but they had already marked us as late. I would plan ahead for traffic and parking since the area is crowded, especially on weekends. For parking, I parked at a paid parking lot nearby which fills quickly. I was lucky because someone pulled out as soon as I entered, but my other friend took 45 minutes to find parking. There's also limited metered parking around the restaurant.   Walking in, I loved the vibe of the place. A rustic-looking coffee bar and a beautiful and shaded outdoor area. Perfect place for a brunch. It also is pet friendly.   I ordered the black sesame waffle with chicken strips and hot honey since it was a weekend special only available on Saturdays and Sundays. The waffle itself was good. It was crispy and cakey on the inside. Not too dry and not too sweet, it was nice. However, I didn't get too much black sesame flavor which was disappointing. It paired well with the butter, syrup, and chicken strips. The chicken strips were good, they were panko crusted and not dry. They paired well with the hot honey sauce which wasn't too overpowering. I wish the chicken strips were bigger though.   The service was not great. Our server was nice and gave us good recommendations, but she was not attentive at all. We had to go out of our way to flag her down to order, for water, and to pay which wasn't ideal.   This place is also vegetarian and vegan friendly!   Overall, this was an okay experience. Now I have been recommended this place for a year and just never made it over until this past weekend. Such a cute spot for working, socializing and gathering. The decor was welcoming and loved the outside area. I had the breakfast burrito which was super filling along with the matcha lemonade. My friend had the kale salad which also looked delicious (mental note go back for that). I wanted the deviled eggs but I was told it is on the Happy Hour menu. Service was good while we were there with our waiter. She was kind, patience and attentive. The only thing that threw me off was maybe about an hour in, the host asked us to wrap it up (nicely) because they had a reservation. That then prompted my friend to share that when she tried to make a reservation for lunch they told her they do not make reservations before 5p. So to hear that we are being asked to leave for a reservation was odd. Overall had a good experience. The ambiance makes it worth it. This was the perfect spot for a 2nd date for a Sunday lunch. He made the reso, arrived first and I greeted him on their quaint patio (which is quite dog friendly) Bonus, there's an outdoor bar here, I fully support that! Food was great! I'd give my Farrow Salad 4 1/2 Stars. it was delicious! My date got the BLT, which looked amazing - specifically the focaccia bread. (Drool worthy) The cocktails were pretty good, wish they had Grey Goose or Belvedere vodka for a Vodka Martini though. We got the highly talked about Yuzu Deviled Eggs, which I didn't love. The hubby and I were in the area to catch a show at the nearby Lodge Room and decided to give this place a try for dinner beforehand. We were impressed by the hip, upscale-casual atmosphere, and since we didn't have reservations decided to sit at the bar, where we ordered the following: - Bon Chovy Dirty Martini: a fun martini garnished with a pickled green bean and an anchovy--yum! - Fettuccine Alfredo: perfectly al dente pasta with a rich but slightly sharp cream sauce instead of the usual mound of bland stuff. - Artichoke and arugula dip with lavash chips: soooo good. The dip itself tasted like typical spinach artichoke dip, but it was really delicious, and those lavash chips were lighter and crisper than the usual pita chips, but were still substantial enough to get the dip out - Gigante beans with greens served with baguette: a true surprise and delight of the night, with its slightly sour citrusy broth, which was a nice counterpoint to the richness of the other two dishes. The beans were perfectly tender, the greens were still bright green and not overly cooked, and the accompanying baguette was crusty with a nice chew. We were pleasantly surprised at how good everything was. You kind of expect a place like this to be more style than substance, but it really had both in spades. Very nice ambience the food looks pretty good even though I haven't tried it yet. I had a cortado. And it was nice sitting there until I realized a foul smell. I thought it was my upper lip, but I looked to the right and I noticed that the dumpsters were off to the side. I'm assuming that's where the smell was coming from, which started to make sense to me why no one was sitting off to the sides of the table. So I had to quickly pack my stuff and leave because the smell of garbage was driving me insane and overtaking my olfactory. I went inside and the smell lingered inside as well. Next time I know to sit far away from the dumpsters. It could have been that or it could have been a dumpster truck that drove by since it was Tuesday aka Trash day. The inside is cute with table and bar seating, and during happy hour/during the day you can just order at the counter and grab a number. The back patio is huge with a bar and lots of greenery and heat lamps. During dinner time, it becomes a more full-service restaurant with a waiter. I came here a couple times and really enjoyed the happy hour cocktails and snacks. For dinner, it was a bit over-priced and the food was average, but the ambiance is great.
