For the price we paid, the room was a bit underwhelming. It was pretty small with no counter space. Trying to get ready to go somewhere in the bathroom was a pain because there was nowhere to put any items. The shower needed some serious work too. Being in the downtown area, we understood that there would be a lot of noise but our room was a few floors above the valet area and there were just constant car horns of locking vehicles all through the night. It was very frustrating, there should be another garage that the cars get taken to or a silent locking of cars if possible through the door handle button. The hotel bar was very nice. Stayed here over Memorial Day weekend as it was one of the few somewhat affordable hotels available in Back Bay/downtown area. We arrived in the morning, and our room wasn't ready but we were able to store our bags in the luggage room. We were in a two queen bedroom, which came included TV, coffee maker, mini fridge, safe, and cupboards/cabinets. Pros: - Well maintained: Our room was cleaned everyday - Location: Biggest plus in my opinion. Right by Newbury Street and Boston Common, with a tram stop directly across the street. - Filling breakfast (although expensive) Cons: - Small rooms (especially for the price point) - No smart TVs: I was disappointed that the rooms were not equipped with smart TVs considering this is supposed to be a modern hotel - Breakfast service: We would usually wait 15-20 minutes to be seated. Service was inconsistent - our server on the first two days was awesome, but the server on our last day completely forgot about us and another waiter had to remind her to take our order. I had a very disappointing stay at Hilton Boston Park Plaza. The room was extremely outdated, small, and not clean, which was surprising given the price point. It definitely did not meet the standards of a 4-star hotel. Don't be fooled by the website photos showing large, spacious bathrooms--the reality is very different. Service was also lacking--there was no one at the entrance to assist with unloading luggage, which made arrival inconvenient and unwelcoming. I've visited Boston many times and stayed at various hotels, and this was by far the worst experience I've had. Honestly, this felt more like a one-star hotel and was even worse than some budget inns I've stayed at. Due to this experience, I will be moving to another hotel tomorrow. Stayed here for a few days and loved the staff who were all very helpful from directions around town how to get to trolley stops, restaurant recommendations, to arranging us a private driver to take us back to airport at the end. This historic hotel enjoys an excellent location--just a 10-minute drive from the airport or Amtrak station, and within walking distance of the Green Line, Boston Common, and the start of the Freedom Trail. The surrounding area is filled with restaurants and shops, and the lobby makes a strong first impression. Unfortunately, that's where the positives end. The hotel is in a busy area, and the rooms are not well soundproofed, making it difficult to sleep with frequent street noise, including sirens and honking. The noise does taper off around 3 a.m., but light sleepers may struggle before then. The guest rooms are dated and poorly renovated. We had to change rooms four times, and each brought new issues. The first, an accessible room, wasn't ideal for our needs but was at least functional. The second, a standard room, was not clean--the bathroom was dirty, and the refrigerator was too large for its cabinet, preventing the door from closing. The third room had a poorly installed bathtub fixture and a loose sink no longer secured to the wall. At these prices?! What keeps me from being too mad was that I was in Boston for a business trip, and this hotel was associated with the conference. The thing I'm referring to here is the size of the bathroom. It's not as small as you see on airplanes. At the same time, cramped for $335 a night is patently unacceptable. Another thing, which is hilariously bad, is the water pressure in the shower. No matter how I point the showerhead, I had to stand directly under it, or the water wouldn't reach me. Thankfully, these were the only bad parts of the stay. Everything was spectacularly clean and passed the black light test with flying colors. The bedding was also immensely comfortable - some of the more comfortable bedding I've had in a hotel in a while. Now, while the room was a little bit on the smaller side, this was not an inconvenience or otherwise unpleasant. I'd also like to give some credit to the staff, as the folks at the front desk were some of the most professional people I've encountered in many hotel stays. Final verdict: Outside the bathroom, a perfectly fine stay; a little bit small, but with super comfortable bedding to make up for it. Inside the bathroom takes me back to my college days. But wait! We would absolutely stay here again but would absolutely opt for a larger room. We didn't realize just how small it was until we were there. It is tight and the bathroom was even smaller. However, valet (around back) was easy. My truck was kept in a garage (that it actually fit in even thought it's a rather tall Land Cruiser). The check in process was even easier! I believe Charles was the "bellhop" as he referred to himself and he was amazing. You literally cannot touch your own bags they do it all. It was just an experience that we really enjoyed. The hotel is close to everything most would want to walk to or rideshare to. We did have a bit of an issue after one of our longest outing days. Just as we laid down to sleep the fire alarm went off and the entire place was evacuated. We stood outside after midnight for about 10-15 minutes and then were told "all clear". Yes, it was frustrating, especially since I'm pregnant and had to take the stairs from the 8th floor, but they handled it well. We stayed at the Hilton Boston Park Plaza in late July 2026, and overall had a great experience. My husband uses a wheelchair and requires accessible accommodations, and this hotel met most of our needs. The main entrance, lobby, restaurant, and common areas were all wheelchair accessible and easy to navigate. Our guest room was a bit small, and some of the furniture made it somewhat challenging for my husband to maneuver his power wheelchair, but it was still manageable. One suggestion I would make for the accessible rooms is to replace the carpet with hard flooring. We use a Hoyer lift for transfers, and while the bed height was excellent for transfers and there was plenty of clearance underneath for the lift, the carpet made it much more difficult to move the lift smoothly. I imagine this could be even more challenging for someone using a manual wheelchair. Despite those minor challenges, we really enjoyed our stay. The staff was welcoming, the hotel was comfortable, and the location was fantastic--within easy reach of many of Boston's top attractions. We would definitely stay here again on a future trip to Boston. read more

There are hundreds of shopping, dining and entertainment choices within easy walking distance. Beacon Hill and the Theater District are less than a half-mile away. We stayed here for a conference and spent a lot of time in their function rooms, i.e. Hancock, Clarendon, Tremont, Exeter, and Georgian. We had a Welcome Party in a gorgeous space known as The Square and a beautiful banquet in their Avenue 34 Ballroom. Our group catered meals were all very good -the breakfasts and lunch in the Arlington/Berkeley/Clarendon rooms and the fancy dinner for 120+ in Avenue 34 (the short ribs were great!). The staff was very helpful setting up our microphones, AV and streaming equipment to broadcast our meetings to members that didn't make the trip to Boston. Our hotel room itself was very comfortable with a big flat screen TV and a zillion satellite stations, a nice work desk, a big comfortable bed, excellent Wi-Fi and temperature control, a K Cup machine, plenty of outlets and a very large bathroom with a good shower. The only odd thing we noticed was the lack of a couch or sofa in what was advertised as a suite. We needed help lugging in a SUV full of boxes, luggage, and garment bags, and the hotel staff and parking personnel were very helpful during our arrival and departure. Perfect location if you are going to a game. Jennifer was an absolute treasure checking us in, and she made sure we had a beautiful view. They have a nice bar that stays open late, so we were able to grab a drink after the game. We flew in & took the T from Logan almost to the front door of the hotel. Had a good stay here for 4 nights for business. The lobby is spacious and there's a beautiful bar and restaurant right in the middle. There's also an adjoining Starbucks and Lynx fitness center which guests have free access to. The Starbucks can get crowded but they take online orders through the app, so I recommend ordering from there. I did not get a chance to visit Lynx, but I heard it's spacious and even has a golf simulator. Pros: -Clean rooms -Friendly, professional staff -Excellent location. I wish I could say good things about this Hilton. The bed was super comfy, the room was clean. So props to housekeeping, at least. I should note up front that I'm a Hilton Honors member, Diamond, and have stayed at a wide range of Hilton properties all over the world. That frames the context of my review and expectations. We had come to Boston for a Valentine's Day overnight. I wanted something special, and we used a blended points/pay balance to reserve a king premium deluxe room. These are larger rooms with the best amenities. When it came time to check in, I used the app and picked my room. I usually study the floor plan in the app, and look for proximity to elevator (I don't want that), ice makers and other noise sources, etc. I also check to try to get the highest floor possible. I selected what is marked as 7079, and thought we were good. When we got to the hotel, the first off-putting moment happened. We pulled up to what definitively looked like the entrance to the hotel. We were parked in a zone that the signs clearly indicated were "valet parking" (the only kind the hotel provides) and we got out and started to unload the car. A bell person came over in the classic doorman's coat and hat, and said, "No no, you can't park here. Are you staying here?" And we said yes, but he said, "This is not the valet, the valet is on the other side." I looked at him, the signs and entrance trying to comprehend why you would set up for navigation to lead people to a door that was clearly marked "valet", only to not have that be the case. But we took his little map and followed it to get us around to the larger valet entrance on the other side. There we were able to get the car relinquished and get our belongings out and go check in. Of course we were early so I had no expectations that the room would be ready, but did go to the reception to check in so they knew we were there. The room wasn't ready but would be in 40 minutes or so. So after my spouse retrieved misplaced glasses from the car with the valet, he joined me at the bar. I initially however, tried to get a table to sit at. The lobby bar and restaurant is in an open area of the lobby, and the tables were all empty but set for lunch. I went to a deuce to sit as we wanted to do some work on our laptops while we waited for the room. A lady swooped in to say I couldn't sit there, that the restaurant didn't open until noon (it was about 11:37 am). I said, well can't I still sit here and then when it opens we can order something? But she said no, we had to be at the bar, or leave. So to the bar it was, where they had one side with the lower bar that you could sit at more like a table, and do work on a laptop. Maybe it was just the experiences stacking on top of each other, but the bartender seemed to convey an attitude of "oh bother, customers", as if we were an inconvenience. I ordered a beer and my spouse a rose sparkling wine. The room now ready we settled and went to check in. That part went well enough and I was given the keys to room 7079, the room I had selected on the map. We went up, only to find that the room I saw on the map was apparently now renumbered 7081, and 7079 a smaller room on the other side, a short distance away (marked as 7077 on the app, and not the premium deluxe level I had paid for). People were in 7081, with the door propped open and lots of people going in and out, part of a conference event that was taking place there. The room was good enough and I realized that trying to change or fix it was probably not going to be possible. We went out to do things and enjoy the city and a nice Valentine's Day dinner. We returned to the room around 8:30 pm, with a lot of folks in the hall by the other room, all with conference badges around their necks, talking loudly. We went to our room and when they saw how close we were they quieted down. For about 10 minutes. Then it got loud again. After about 10 minutes I stepped out to ask them to be quiet, that there were other guests at the hotel, and they should go in a room if they wanted to talk; the hallway wasn't appropriate. That lasted about another 15-20 minutes. I messaged in the app and via Diamond text but had no response for over an hour. So we called to the front desk, and had to do so twice. Finally, after security had supposedly been dispatched 2-3 times, and telling the guests again ourselves, they quieted down around 11:30 pm, well past the conventional 10 pm "quiet hours". Good thing we got a late check out at least, so we could sleep in and get rest. I had hopes the Park Plaza could be our new standard hotel for Boston. But after this stay, I don't plan to return to this property ever again. You should consider other, better options too. If you DO choose to stay here, remember that the map of the floor plan is wrong. read more

This was one of the most disgusting hotels I've stayed in. The lobby area is so misleading to make you think it's a nicer, upscale hotel. Not only were the rooms tiny, they were so gross. Stains all over the carpets, a strong foul musty odor, rusted out old AC vents, a ridiculously small bathroom that you could hardly turn around in. Patched up old dry wall and rotted out door edges. I felt like we were in a hostel horror movie. I'm embarrassed we chose this hotel and it was our first visit to Boston and embarrassed we had an international conference take place here. First off, I will say that all the people I interacted with at the front desk, bellhop, concierge and valet were very pleasant and helpful. Really nice folks. Then the bad. This hotel is crazy overpriced for how bad the room and bar area were. The room: comically small, which isn't a big deal, but should be noted. -The remote for the tv didn't work at all. -The small area with the cooler had a door that wouldn't close and kept swinging open. -Bathroom door would stick and we had to use a ton of force to open it when it was closed all the way -Didn't provide soap, just conditioner and two shampoo bottles. -Tried to get in touch with the front desk via text as was suggested and only got a chat bot that didn't help. The bar/restaurant- The server at night was completely rude and disinterested in helping us. Instead, making comments about reserved tables even though we were sat by the hostess with no argument or complaint. Then after all that, tried to sit other parties at our table when members of our group had gone to the restroom. Then, the next morning, no one could answer us in regards to where to sit for breakfast. Just very bazaar. Also, there is no clarity at all about where to go for valet. I arrived last night and asked the lady at the desk if there was somewhere I could post up and do some work so I don't keep my roommates awake. She suggested the library to the left of the lobby. What a fantastic recommendation! I wish all hotels had a library. It's an inspiring place to work being surrounded by books while seated in a high backed arm chair. While here, I can say something for certain, the night crew is fantastic. I unfortunately became hungry after the hotel's kitchen and the neighboring Irish bar's kitchen had closed. I spoke with Sean/Shawn at the front desk who recommended I take a walk to the 4th wall, and it did not disappoint. When I returned, he offered me a bottle of water. Shortly thereafter, I spoke with another gentleman, whose name I didn't catch, and asked about a microwave; he offered to have it sent up right away. All around great customer service! I'm a night owl, and I used to work night shifts at a hospital, so, I know how different things can be between day and night shift. In my opinion, night shift workers are either a blast, or cranky (from working against most people's normal diurnal cycles). I'm grateful that the night shift staff here is the former. I can't speak to the day shift crew, since I haven't met them yet, but the night crew has set the bar high. Thank you Hilton night crew for being so welcoming to a fellow night owl. read more

They treated us with empathy, patience, and kindness, and worked quickly to get our group accommodated. So this hotel has a lot of mixed reviews. I picked it because the location is great for first time visitors. Yes, the hotel rooms are small. I thought ours might be a bit bigger because we booked the king superior room. It was fine for two people but I can't imagine how small the wicked small rooms are. Our flight arrived early and after an early start to our day, we were totally ok with paying $50 to check in at noon. For those not wanting to spend that, they can hone your bags for you. It was rainy when we first got there so we were grateful to regroup in our room. The room was clean, housekeeping was great. The toilet paper holder was in a terrible spot in the cramped bathroom. The TV also was in a bit of an odd place directly in the right hand corner of the room and not centered in front of the bed. So many great options within walking distance. Boston Common and the Public Garden are so close to the hotel. Was great to spend a portion of each day there. Newberry street is not far for those looking to do high end shopping. Several spots for the freedom trail are easily accessible. Cheers bar is a short walk and there are stops for the old trolley tour nearby. Back bay neighborhood is a great neighborhood for first time visitors to Boston looking to do touristy things. Is this hotel a bit dated, yes. This first section of my review is for the Lobby Bar: Fortunately, the "Off the Common" lobby restaurant was still serving food. DH had a bacon cheeseburger that we shared. He described the burger as 'glorious'. I ordered the clam chowder. It was delicious too. The service and the surroundings were both splendid. The only regret was not ordering the Lobster Roll - I'm sure it would have been fantastic too. (We never saw it during our trip again!) For dessert. We had a fabulous Boston Cream Pie. Yumm! Thank you to our waitress! The 2nd section is for the Hotel: Negatives . . . The bathroom, was the first place we went and we couldn't find the light switch! It was 3 minutes later, did we find it. It was hidden behind the bedroom lamp shade. The toilet paper holder, I just hate that! Each time I use it, the paper falls off to the floor. The shade, you can be seen as 'shadow' if the lights are on, from the neighbors across. Beware going naked inside, or making love! There were no Kleenex in our room, the box was empty. I have to go down to the lobby to ask for one. There was no toilet paper, too. We have to put one on the holder. We didn't know, the employees have been on strike for the 4th day, and we met them as we board the bus, in the morning we were leaving. Other than that: The bed was comfortable. The shower flow perfect, except there was no handrail, to hang onto, while I use a washcloth on me. There were lots of shampoo & body wash, and extra towel for my wet hair. The pillows, put me to cloud heaven. This is the Hilton! What? No Hot Cocoa? Yes, you heard me. We have to go to Starbucks for that! read more

This is not one of them that I would say is designed as a historic hotel. The rooms are horrible. The carpet is frayed and probably very dirty. It's hard to tell because it's so dark. There's no desks in the room. The heater broke. We had a blackout. The bathrooms are way too small and the rooms are way too small. This is not a hotel I would ever come back to. Next... our heater broke. Maintenance came and said he can't fix it and he was very nice and said he would bring up a space heater so we would have heat in the morning and they would move us AGAIN tomorrow. You can't make this up!! Still.. one hour later.. no space heater. I can't believe this!!!! read more

Overall it was good. But here are the things you should know before you stay: -It's in a VERY busy area of the city, and there is a fire station nearby. So there was almost constant sirens and honking. Bring some sort of sound machine to drown it out. -They have water bottle filling stations on each floor by the elevator. The one on our floor needed the filter replaced. For three days. So obviously no one checks those. -What they call a "suite" I would call a regular room. So don't expect large, spacious rooms. The hotel itself is spacious and amazing smelling (seriously, I need to figure out how to bottle it and bring it home), with clean rooms and friendly staff. Bobby at reception made the check-in process especially easy (after a long day of travel, no less) After first watching him be exceptionally kind to an older guest, then he checked us into our reservation with such sincere care. Really enjoyed our stay at the Hilton Boston Park Plaza! Jennifer was really great at check in. Loved the location. Happy that there was a Starbucks right there. Staff was friendly. Can't remember the bellman's name who helped us but he was great. Only downside was the size of the bathroom. Understand it is a hotel in a big city. read more

Three nights in Boston on mixed business / family trip and picked the Boston Park Plaza for location. Enjoyed this full service hotel. Nice common area with warm bar and great service, also where you have breakfast. Full service Starbucks, not kiosk, just off lobby. Third party "real" gym (fee included for guests). This is really nice. We picked full size rooms after reading about "wicked small" rooms, that were less, on Yelp. Rooms were really nice. One night I had a car and parked in self parking garage $40 vs $67 for valet. Self park is short walk, but know in and out. read more

The TOILET is IN the SHOWER. Pic below. The entire bathroom - sink, commode, shower is about 25 sq ft Not even Yankees fans should be made to stay in this 300+ dollar a night room. Ok...yes they should. The room is So small you can't walk across the room- you have to 'Crab" slide to navigate from one side of bed to other. The small coffee machine is ON THE FLOOR. There is no closet. The bed itself is fine but tarnished by the rest of 'room'. The common areas and people are nice actually - but you don't need to pay for a room to experience those. Maybe if it was 29 dollars a night. But it's 300+ A NIGHT. read more

I've stayed here often when I was in town. It's a beautiful property, location is perfect, close to Boston Commons and Newbury Street. Rooms here are various sizes and perfect for those short business stays here in Boston. I usually have great stays here but this time I had an odd encounter in customer service with the front desk. I was on the phone inquiring about an issue and the individual was not very kind and abrupt. I understand maybe they were busy but they just weren't nice at all. I feel there is a way to speak to your customers and no need to be rude otherwise you may be in the wrong career. Anyway, there usually is a high turnover rate in the hotel industry. Sadly I don't think he'll last long here as most people here are kind and compassionate. read more

When you walk in to the hotel- the lobby is gorgeous. The bar is stunning. Even the elevators are gorgeous. But the rooms do not match the lobby at all. The rooms were rusty in corners. They definitely just have buckets of paint somewhere and just layer over imperfections without actually fixing it. It's dusty and had an unclean feel. The housekeeping staff however are so nice and very fast. It's also a spectacular location. Just walking distance from the Boston commons, Cheers, lots of restaurants. There also a Starbucks attached so you don't have to venture into the cold. Arlington train line is just a block away. read more

Great location and wonderful classic architecture. Though I would be very cautious of the "wicked small" room and would heed why management is bluntly honest about the size & descriptors of the room. read more
