Service here was excellent. For the price point with their AYCE options, I could find much better options though with more variety. Their AYCE is for lunch time only, or you can still order a la carte. They have a few rolls, hand rolls, nigiri, appetizers and dessert. It's not the best sushi spot that I have been to but still glad I was able to try them out.

We were hiking in the area so we stopped by here for the lunch AYCE. It's $30/pp, which for the quality of the fish and the rolls it's pretty good for the price so you don't have to break the bank. We like that their rolls came as four pieces so we were able to try more options. The rolls were pretty tasty, just wish they had less sauce over them. Otherwise, we were seated quickly, and the service was good. If we were in the area again, we would come back!

One of the better options in the area, many options on menu, and creative rolls. Nice portions, and prompt service. Located in the ranch 99 parking lot. It's easy to find and has plenty of parking. Go stop for sake and quick bites or dinner.

I went to Hisui Sushi for lunch and had a patchy experience. The price was affordable and customer service was great. We got seated fast and the waitress was attentive and answered our questions. The restaurant offers plenty of seating space in the main dining room as well as seating at the bar. We got three rolls and some nigiri. First the nigiri, the fish did not taste fresh at all. We had the halibut/albacore. The rice did not taste as fresh as I had hoped it to be, which kind of affected the overall quality of the nigiri. The rice tasted stale. On this visit we also had three rolls. While some parts of the rolls were fine, others simply were not that tasty and had the stale rice. It was slightly disappointing given the high standards for good sushi and overall rating for this restaurant. It's a decent spot for a fast lunch with great service, but the sushi itself has work to do.

Service was friendly and fast. My kids ordered the Philadelphia roll. It was made fresh and the rice to fish ratio was perfect. I had the sesame chicken bowl. The chicken bits were flavorful and crispy. The chirashi don had all kinds of sashimi. This is a Folsom staple.

Those four letters A Y C and E, one after another catches my attention every time. When I found out that Hisui Sushi offers AYCE lunch buffet of sushi, my interest was peaked. I gave it a go. But alas, I have to say it was ok. However, it is worth a visit for folks not in a time crunch and wanting an AYCE experience with the purpose of filling up. I dropped in a weekend and the waitress was working various tables, it was difficult for her to provide optimal customer service for all her tables. She had a terrific up beat attitude. But do you the large number of customers, I did not see her for long stretches of time making it difficult to order buffet items and timely get the bill. Plus there is a wait time from sushi chefs to churn out the sushi. For the lunch buffet, you order items off a pre-set menu. You are limited to five items at a time. The sushi rolls are half size. The quality and flavors of the sushi were not bad but not particularly outstanding. Chicken skewers: One serving is two skewers of what tasted like thigh meat. The flavors were safe, on the mild side. The teriyaki sauce drizzled on top added flavor. Crispy salmon skin hand roll: Hello... this was fantastic! Absolutely delish. The strips of salmon skin were fried to a light crispness with a salty savory taste. Spicy tuna hand roll: The tuna had a grounded up consistency with a strong smelling marinade. I took only a couple of bites and could not get over the texture and smell. Rainbow roll: It had thin slices of sashimi. So thin, that I could not taste the flavors of the various fish. I also ordered another roll but it also had very thin slices of sashimi and not memorable. I wanted to order more food but I did not see my waitress and being there for nearly a hour with the restaurant filling up with more customers, I called it. I needed to get going and flagged down the two other servers to help get my bill.

Due to its location in a not so diverse city, it's not your typical sushi restaurant. The nigiri is pre sliced by the staff instead of keeping them in saku blocks and slicing to order. However, you'll find traditional Japanese sushi cuisine being served. Another thing is the portion sizes are HUGE. See the picture for the gigantic crispy rice tuna appetizer. I also really appreciate them having kizami wasabi (fresh wasabi) available, as it's so much better than the fake wasabi paste that's made of horseradish.

Popped in this afternoon for a quick bite and was surprised to see they offer AYCE for lunch! We chose the regular menu but that's always an option for another time. The host was friendly and our server was nice as well. The restaurant was pretty much packed on a Saturday afternoon but we were served quickly and everything arrived with a short wait. We were in and out in about 40 minutes. We ordered the Firecracker to start and that was amazing!! I subbed out the spicy tuna for crab mix and that was perfect. Everything else okay. I generally love nigiri, but the nigiri here is too rice heavy. The scallops were slightly fishy and wasn't the most fresh compared to other times I have tried hotate. The albacore was fine. I like how they offer a little bit of pickled wasabi on the side but, we wouldn't order their nigiri if we go back. The rolls were fine. The crab mix is a little heavy on the mayonnaise and the Snow White roll was very saucy too. They are a little too rice heavy for me as well. Overall, if we're on this side of town, it's a convenient stop but definitely doesn't take the cake.

Wow! I was impressed to find this great of a sushi place in Folsom. We came for a birthday and was not disappointed. We arrived in the afternoon right before their buffet was able to end. We were hoping to opt in their sushi buffet, but didn't want to rush ourselves so we ordered a few rolls to share. We wanted a sale to go along with our meal and our server recommended one that we all fell in love with. I wish I remembered the rolls, but to be honest everything we tried was delicious. The service was on point, and our server made sure she answered all our questions. We definitely will be back.

Celebrated birthday girl here and had a blast. This spot is slightly trendy but not overly fancy -- more or less putting out a modern yet casual ambiance. We ordered a bit of everything but mostly sashimi as we are all fans. The fish was fresh and easy to distinguish between each tasting. We also ordered a bento box to share which was perfect to square up dinner. The soft shell crab for our appetizer was meh to me. Since we were there celebrating a birthday, our server brought out a complimentary dessert for the birthday girl at the end of dinner -- she was super happy. Although, I wish they would've had some candles on hand because we all wanted to sing happy birthday to her. Nonetheless, the comp was a sweet gesture from the house. Wouldn't mind returning if ever in the area again.

It was a terrible idea to come here. Me and my boyfriend came here for lunch, and we were expecting a little bit more. The quality of the fish was terrible and strangly dry and flavorless? Normally it is expected when you order off the lunch menu at most sushi places but we ordered some of their more expensive dishes off their regular menu and it wasn't quality for what we paid for which was about 95 dollars in total. The customer service was awful as well, we waited for 30 minutes before we got to order any drinks and almost left. Spend your money elsewhere, it's been a year and we have never come back. read more

Decided to try this place out since it was new and I love sushi. My friend and I went for dinner and the staff members were super friendly. Someone (the manager, I'm assuming) even came by and asked how everything was and our waiter was attentive and so nice. Pricing is what I expected from a sushi place and the rolls were delicious! I'm definitely coming back. read more

First time coming here and glad that we did. We just had enough time to order the all you can eat and there were plenty of choices to pick from. $15.95 is a great deal and sure was worth it. Seafood was fresh and the rice on the rolls was just right. The rolls were all great but the one I would remember is the salmon skin hand roll, it's the bomb dot com! Service was great and our waiter was attentive and friendly. Glad this place opened as it's close to home. Would definitely recommend this place and yes we will be back! read more

Superb! Hisui Sushi was a wonderful treat.Fresh,flavorful,and very well prepared.Folsom has a treat,the rolls were fantastic,an array of roll combinations,the tempura was excellent.I typically will start with the edemame accompanied with sake,as I ordered a variety of items,I wanted to try some of everything,I appreciated the flavors of the smoked eel.The layout is modern,stylish and artistic.The ambience is perfect to take your mind away,while enjoying a dining experience that is complimentary to all.If you are a serious sushi eater,you will love it,if you are new to sushi,the waiters will recommend the perfect combination .Although it is primarily a sushi restaurant,there is so much more to choose from the menu,you will be pleasantly pleased,i'll definitely be a regular! read more

Hisui Sushi is by far my favorite sushi restaurant in town. I know im going to leave full and satisfied whenever I go to Hisui Sushi. I would recommend anything on the AYCE menu and its a great place to eat dinner too. I usually come once every week or so because I know how awesome the food and service is. All the staff is really nice and now knows me by name, which i find to be very important for your neighborhood restaurant. I tell all my friends to try Hisui if they are craving sushi. read more

First time trying this new sushi place...we are very picky and I can honestly tell you this place is one of the best sushi restaurants we have ever been to! The staff was amazing, the portions were huge (way bigger than anywhere else I've been), and the sushi was so fresh! We are used to other sushi places so we ordered way to much food, but after this experience we can't wait to go back and try some more rolls! Defiantly try the Kamakazi roll and the Giants roll, sooo good! read more

It s just a buffet sushi, will not recommend, as well they cheat giving false advertising, that there is lunch special with 50% off, so in add they say lunch is to 2:30pm, but in real they close at 2pm, they you have to use regular hours and pay for rise as for sushi, regular price. Just a waste of time read more

Went for lunch with my Calendar girls birthday lunch group. Even @1 pm, very busy. 1 in our group ordered the all you can eat Sushi for $19.95, looked quite plentiful & presentation was tasty! I ordered the Teriyaki Noodles with fried tofu in the appetizer section & it was most plentiful even took leftovers home. I'm so excited that this place opened up so close to my house! The other sushi places in the area were okay but not quite the best, but Hisui met and exceeded my expectations. The inside of the restaurant is really nice, and the service is good as well. I ordered the cucumber sunomono and the Tataki Attack roll, and I was really pleased! The food is delicious, and they have an extensive menu. I'll be coming back very often. Edit: I've been here three times now within the past week and I have to say I absolutely love this place already! read more

I have only been here twice with my girlfriend so far but both times we have been it has been extremely busy. We went once for dinner and today for their all you can rat lunch. Despite the busyness, service was quick and the waiter was polite. We were even checked up on by multiple other staff members. Their sushi is good, and the all you can eat is definitely a deal. Their gyoza was great and I personally love the 49'ers and dragon rolls. read more

Tom and Amy and their team put a great sushi dinner out! They are so welcoming every time we come in. We love the casual atmosphere for families. And the evening is always easy and good. The honey chicken bowl is my husbands favorite. I have yet to find a roll I didn't love. The Kings roll is a must. Great neighborhood spot. A regular stop for us. read more

We ordered off the Ayce menu, i'd rate the sushi about a 3.5. There wasn't a ton of different options, all rolls were fairly similar and just okay. The food wasn't as awesome as i'd hope, but worth a try. Given the amount of sushi places near me, i'd probably not come back. read more

Best sushi place around. Very happy we found this place. The lunch buffet is amazing. Service was amazing and as I was eating I was watching the staff in the back and noticed a man that seemed to be the manager checking everything as it left the kitchen. Its so nice to have the piece of mind that someone actually cares about presentation and service. Very pleased with my experience and we will both be returning soon. We had sushi night this past Sunday. My wife and son love sashimi. Thought we would try Hisui. The fish lovers in my house said the Chefs choice sashimi was some of the best they have had recently. The sashimi was very firm, flavorful and fresh, with decent sized portions. Wasabi lovers, make sure you try some of the wasabi root relish, instant decongestant !!! The miso soup was very flavorful and raider roll was a great roll for those transitional hakur types. read more

While there are lots of choices for Sushi in Folsom and near by El Dorado Hills this place is ranked at the top of the best in those areas. Great deal of choices for different rolls and other dishes that I have not had the chance yet to try yet but they are on my radar for my next trip. read more

We got there on Friday we did not know that you can make a reservation. It was packed, we waited for 40 minutes. The place is nice and Eugene I believed he is the owner, he was very nice. We love the food. But our waiter was ok, I was asking him questions and replied to me with a tiny bit of "condescending" mind you it was our first visit at this restaurant. Otherwise, I think we can go back to eat there. The waiter was probably just having a bad night since it was so busy.. read more

Since it wasn't very busy when we arrived, we were seated right away. The dining room is fairly large, with a mix of tables, booths, and counter seating. Each table has a tablet for electronic ordering, but we decided to go old-fashioned and order through our server. We started with a large hot sake and six pieces of gyoza, asking our server to hold the entrées until we finished. The sake hit the spot and paired nicely with the gyoza. The gyoza tasted good but was just a bit harder than we'd like. For the main meal, I ordered a bento box with nigiri sushi and tempura, while the others chose a salmon teriyaki bento box and a Spicy Yellowtail Roll. My nigiri tasted fresh and nicely prepared. I also tried a piece of the Spicy Yellowtail Roll and found it to have a nice flavor profile. The salmon teriyaki was clean and sweet, with a natural salmon flavor, and was tender and juicy. The portions were generous, making for a satisfying meal, and everyone enjoyed their food, although my companions thought the tempura was a bit too oily. Despite the slightly firm gyoza and oily tempura, the good sake, generous portions, and relaxed atmosphere made for a very enjoyable lunch. The highlight for me was sipping the remaining sake and enjoying the nigiri.

My first bite was very delicious I tasted a lot of the fish versus rice which is always hard to find at certain places when the ratio isn't right. Service was 5 stars for me! TONS of food, which was nice (especially for the price)! both steaks were ordered medium rare; the filet was cooked as ordered and the rib eye was on the medium/medium well side. however, the major bummer with the rib eye was the menu states well marbled but the steak gas VERY fatty when you're paying $62 for a USDA prime, "well-marbled" (per the menu's description) steak, the last thing i'd expect is to describe the steak as more fatty then marbled. the sides were great; the garlic mashed potatoes with the soy wasabi sauce were incredible! SERVICE our server started out very attentive and progressively we saw him less and less throughout the night; waiting for the check, needing water refills, etc. i get that everyone has busy tables and the F&B industry is having a tough time, but dang. at a place like this, i'd expect top notch service throughout the dining experience! AMBIANCE it's very nice inside. super cool bar when you first walk in. lots of spacious seating so you're not sitting on top of one another and modern decor. after having worked in F&B, i totally understand the industry; some nights people call out, larger parties consume the kitchen, etc. but for the price, nothing really seemed to blow us out of the water :( hopefully it was just a bad night that we went. it has a great reputation for a reason! hoping the next visit is a better experience!

I recently visited Hisui Sushi in Folsom, CA after a swim meet. I found this place based on Yelp reviews, but unfortunately, I have to say that it did not live up to its 4.5-star rating. One of the main reasons we chose this restaurant was because they had oysters on the menu, but when we arrived, they were not available. The restaurant was also uncomfortably warm, which made us concerned about the quality of the sushi. We decided to order for the kids first and unfortunately, the katsu and shrimp tempura tasted like it was fried in old oil. However, it wasn't all bad. The sashimi pepper fin was delicious and the nigiri selection was decent. We also enjoyed the tapas, which included options like tuna sliders and igadashi tofu. The waiter claimed the hottest roll, the inferno, didn't have the slightest kick! My kid could have eaten it! While Hisui Sushi had some good dishes, the overall experience was not up to par with its high rating. read more

Going to give 3 stars, as I give a 4 star to their in service normal dining and a 2 star for AYCE. Their AYCE policies are far too strict when it comes to fees/issues. For me, never an issue, but I could see many families with picky eaters, etc. that would suffer from the extra fees Hisui charges for "left rice on plate". I'd recommend the owner to fix the menu to reword "left rice", as that's a very confusing phrase to define. However, their sashimi otherwise is great. Some are phenomenal, some are average. Definitely try the Ono. Creamy texture and just lightly tempts the palate. Their other sashimi options weren't as satisfying, but the quality of the Ono itself merits a good review. Don't go for the AYCE. Check out the Ono. Thank you. read more

We came in party of 7 , cudnt even sit 4 of us down, we had to wait for almost 30m to get seated becuz he wants everybody in the party to get here. I asked to sit down becuz we was hungry and we want to get started on drinks and orders. The waitress sat us down and immediately, the owner came at her and told her he wanted us to wait . He said to her if they don't want to follow the policy they cud leave and he doesn't need us to come and eat! Best sushi in town!! They have an all you can eat lunch special!! The fish is so fresh. Best AYCE I've been to in the greater Sacramento area. Dinner is excellent too. They serve their traditional menu. This place has the best service. Everytime we come here to eat we are never disappointed. But wait it's not just sushi!! Their kitchen food is incredible. Chicken teriyaki takes a little longer but it's really worth it. Cooked fresh to order and grilled to perfection. Try the steak teriyaki too!! I recently visited Hisui for the the unlimited Sushi lunch, and it was a letdown. The only good thing about this place is it's unlimited for only $25, but the fish was not fresh. This experience was quite disappointing, especially since I've dined here for lunch before, and it was never this unpleasant. The rolls seemed overloaded with rice, and the Nigiri meat left a bad taste in my mouth. I had higher expectations, especially after noticing a price increase. All you can eat is an all you can take advantage. I eat so much nigiri for $25 bucks I feel bad for it. Everything on the menu isn't available, but everything I want is. I usually stick to nigiri, but sometimes get appetizers. If I'm being honest, the rice isn't all there, but the fish is good quality. For an all you can eat, this place is amazing. I highly recommend. I've been looking so long for an all you can eat near here that I don't have to go to Reno for & I thank God I found this place. read more

I am really happy about this place. We just moved to Folsom, and we live across the street from it. The quality sushi isn't that amazing, however the value of the All-you-can-eat lunch buffet deserves the 4 star review. Now It isn't the worst quality Sushi. Some of the rolls are actually really tasty. Even my wife, who is a non-sushi eater, liked one of their rolls. I will be definitely coming back for the lunch buffet at least twice a month. :-) read more

Only small note would be that if you offer All you can eat on a weekend maybe put one extra sushi chef on. Make a point of eating lunch at least once a week there. I guess there had been an ownership change that happened not too long ago. Food is just as good as before but the service took a hit and definitely a lot slower, about 30 mins per 5 item order for ayce. It used to be about 20 mins per order previously.
