We told our order taker that it was our first time and he explained how the menu worked, told us how all the beef was locally sourced, and gave us some tips on ordering. The restaurant is not fancy, but it was very clean. The burgers and fries were delicious! We also had a Philly cheesesteak that was very good. Hit List is centrally located with a clean, comfortable atmosphere and a wonderful menu built with the carnivore in mind! However, this review is specifically of the owner Brad. Recently, I experienced an unfortunate situation with a good employee who was having a bad day. I also mistook the employee for the owner. When Brad received this information, he took immediate action, investigated fully and coached the employee with best practices. I appreciate Brads' genuine concern and desire to make it good again. Saw a lot of posts online raving about this burger spot. I decided to finally go try it for myself... while walking in - the decor and place didn't seem very special but the food spoke for itself. Using only locally sourced ground beef, it was rich, flavorful, juicy, and cooked to perfection. We tried the classic cheese burger which ended up being one of my favorite cheeseburgers ever, and the pastrami burger, which was okay. My wife liked the pastrami burger better but each to their own. The service was as prompt, helpful, and polite as well. Oh and I even had them special make a burger patty for my sick dog who wouldn't eat, but sure didn't hesitate to eat that burger patty. I had the single chsb with bacon, hubby had the pastrimi burger. I think he liked his better than i liked mine. Fries and fried zucchini...Good burger but I wouldn't call it the best I've ever had...although they grind it here from local beef. Good fries. I would've given them 4 stars, but THEY CHARGE FOR MAYO. And for Ranch. No tomatoes. No lettuce. Staff was helpful & friendly. read more

Food 100% 11/10!!! OMG! This was the best pulled pork I've EVER HAD!!! The girl at the counter goes through and tells you what kind of meat it is, where it's from, how they prepare it...and it's all local!! I had the pulled pork and my hubby had the cheeseburger . The tables were clean, the bathroom was clean. Overall we would come visit again! The only suggestion I have is to add maybe a tap bar or more decor to liven it up a little. This is an order at the counter, they bring it out place. My hubby and I always split the first order when we are trying a place for the first time. We are connoisseurs of house made pastrami. This joint did not disappoint. they not only cure their own, they smoke it in house as well...the result is tender, juicy, not overly salty, and just the right amount of smoke. We split the meal and were completely satisfied...fries were a generous order (and hot, crisp, yet tender as others have described). Nice clean place, simple decor, friendly attentive staff. We will be back...next time to try the house ground hamburger with pastrami on top!!! the bill was only $12.00 plus we bought a fountain drink. I have mixed feelings about this one, but mostly positive. We drove 30 minutes from Nampa to Garden City just to try this place based on reviews. We purposely went after the lunch rush and arrived around 1:25pm but the place was entirely empty. No big deal, just an observation. It's located in a rather obscure area so much that you wouldn't know it was there unless specifically looking for it. The place was remarkably clean and the service was fast and friendly. I love that the meat they use there is locally sourced from the Thomas Cattle Company. My daughter ordered the classic burger and I got the hot pastrami sandwich. We also got a side of fried zucchini This is where the mixed feelings come in. Pros: - Best French fries I've ever had. They tasted fresh, appeared hand cut, and had amazing flavor. I could eat them all day. - Fries come with every sandwich. - It was clear all the ingredients were fresh and good quality. - Place was clean (as previously mentioned) - Good fry sauce. Cons: - Pastrami was fresh and juicy but bland. I was expecting a bold and flavorful sandwich since everything is made in-house but honestly it was meh. - The grilled onions on the pastrami sandwich were minimal and added nothing to the flavor. The mustard was all I could really taste. - Burger flavor was the same, just meh. - Soda options were limited. Not a big deal, again just an observation. - Lunch for two people with tip was $42 and it was just so-so. (2 sandwiches, 2 drinks, one side of zucchini) plus the distance we traveled. All in all it was worth trying at least once. The fries alone made the trip worthwhile. We love supporting local businesses and would still recommend this place even though it didn't totally meet our expectations. Another observation is that all the tables have benches rather than seats. If you're dining with older people, may be a bit difficult for them to sit. read more

It was hood. Natural beef burgers from a locale farm. Talked to the cook/owner maybe and they have a lot of pride in creating their own ground. The burger was good though but it didn't have anything else on it to balance it like lettuce/tomato or pickles. read more

Been on a road trip with my sons for the past 10 days, this is the 5th burger joint we've visited. stopped at a gas station, searched local spots with good reviews, came here. Easily the best burger I've had this trip, and one of the best burgers I've EVER had. Also I must mention the fries which were perfectly seasoned and fried. The color and taste and texture was all top notch. Came in at 8pm, Parking lot was suspiciously empty, but boy was I wrong to be suspicious. Add the Hit List to your list of must try burger joints! This gem is hidden among a slightly dated strip of shops. The smell of smoked meats and barbecue greets you upon entering the establishment. The menu is minimal, but what they serve is well-made. Their classic burger is incredible: two super juicy hamburger patties cooked perfectly medium, oozing with melted cheese, and served on a fluffy, buttery brioche style bun. While its only condiment were perfectly caramelized diced onions, ketchup and mustard were available via a self serve condiment bar. Despite its simplicity, it was one of the most flavorful, tender, and juicy burgers I've had, and against my normal tendency to pile on the toppings, no other toppings were needed as the burger speaks for itself. As for the sides, the french fries were good: basic hand cut style fries with the potato skins still intact, slightly crisp, and minimally seasoned. The side salad wasn't anything special, just some chopped romaine lettuce with a few bites of tomato, and processed yet decent quality salad dressing. The staff was friendly and helpful, and food brought out quickly. While the sides weren't anything special, the burger well made up for it. Hit list is worth visiting! They have a great and simple menu of about 10 items- so far everything has been delicious. I tried their cheeseburger today, which is 2 Patties, cheese, and grilled onions. No fluff that takes away from their custom blend and spices. Totally delicious and I will have it again. The folks working there are super friendly and nice. Be careful- if you get them talking about how they make everything you will be ther for lunch and want to stay for dinner.
