    Ready to go!

I had been looking for a replacement car for about three months before I visited HJ Auto Group. I knew the model years, features and style that I wanted, but could not find the exact car from the big dealers or private owners. Sure enough, HJ Auto Group had a listing pop up and I had that car within three days. Oscar worked with me closely and took care of the background stuff before I drove away. The staff is friendly and the process was smooth. They seem to pick a nice assortment of autos that appeal to their customers. You should definitely check them out if you are in the market for some new wheels!

Busted key fob (right) Mercedes CLS 550

I had to revise my review from a 5 star perfect experience to 2 star. Here is the reason why... The car I purchased was a 2012 Mercedes CLS 550. The car gets 5 stars. Excellent condition inside and out. It had 2 very minor scratches at the time of sale. Moving on to the experience....Dave was the man handling my transaction. Prior to the sale of the vehicle he was prompt, courteous, professional, everything you would expect from a car sales guy. Returned my calls within minutes, no BS type of guy. He got me approved over the phone very quickly (My 839 credit score probably helped). I decided to make the 3 1/2 hour drive from Vegas to Rosemead, CA to purchase the car. During the sale everything went very smoothly as expected. I tried to haggle Dave for a grand because the tires looked worn. ( Price of 4 new tires on 19 in. rims would run well over a grand). He didn't budge and I proceeded with the purchase. After test driving this fine automobile, I spent 15 min with the paperwork and I was back on my way to Vegas. After the sale.....terrible. There were a couple of minor follow up issues that I had to initiate. One was the spare key had to be mailed to me separately. It was sent to me by mail, busted. There is a little lever door on top of the key fob that releases the actual hard key. This lever door was broken (not covered under warranty). Now when this key's battery dies, you have to use that lever to get into the battery area. Dave told me to use a toothpick to open the key. Yes it probably would work but I honestly don't want to be sticking toothpicks in my 50 grand dream car's key fob to open it up. Maybe on a Honda Civic. I asked for a key replacement or monetary reimbursement. Dave didn't budge. I mean....if a key fob is $400 and I spent 50 grand on the vehicle, that's less than 1%..... come on dude, keep a brother happy??......His words, "we usually don't even include a spare key on used cars (like I should feel lucky I got a spare). And "the previous owner won't replace the key". Another issue Dave was supposed to get back to me on was on the balance of the extended warranty. Again I had to call him and the answer I got (twice) was the "previous owner" was out of town and he had to ask him. (2 months now) I don't really understand how it works but because the car was Certified Pre Owned, I was not able to get the extra warranty that was on the car, which was an extra year. Only the factory warranty. Regardless, I never got a return call. Summary: The cars here are most likely going to be nice. Dave will do anything to get your booty to sign that dotted line, as he should. After the sale you can say Sayonara to any follow up, lingering issues. You are pretty much history. My advise is to make sure you get any unresolved issues in writing prior to the sale. If you are not completely satisfied DO NOT get the car until all of YOUR expectations are met. I honored everything on my end, as a 839 credit score man would.

The entire process was quick, smooth, and refreshingly transparent. Pricing matched the original estimate exactly--no surprise add-ons, no upselling, just honest service. A huge shoutout to my service advisor, Kelly Yang, who was incredibly professional and thorough. He clearly explained the work being done, set accurate expectations for timing, and even applied a promotional discount. After my prior experience, I walked in expecting the worst--but was genuinely impressed by the level of care and integrity. While it's a bit of a drive for me, it was absolutely worth it. I highly recommend Longo Lexus if you're looking for reliable, straightforward service without the hassle.

Last month, I had reached out to Longo online to request a quote for a 2026 Lexus NX 350h Premium. I notified them of the price I had received from a different dealership and was told they would "match" any competitor and also honor a discount I had received using the Costco Auto Program ($2500 off). They even notified me of their special APR rate for March 2026. Things seemed to be going well, but they didn't have any inventory and the car I wanted would not arrive until the following month. They also said they could not honor the APR for next month since it was a special promotion only for March. I called Crown Lexus and they were not going to receive any new NX hybrids until April, but the salesperson from Crown said their dealership would honor the discount from Costco and the special APR rate even though the car would not arrive until after the promotion was over. I called Longo back and notified them of what Crown was going to offer and instead of matching the offer, they said they'd only give me a discount of $1500 because there was a "shortage" of the NX models. I was a bit disappointed in their response and ended up going with Crown Lexus and reserved a car that was assembled in Japan. Also, check their inventory because the cars are assembled in either Canada or Japan. If the VIN number starts with a 2, the car was assembled in Canada.

I never felt pressured, rushed, or talked into anything--I felt taken care of. The process was smooth and handled in a timely manner (about as good as it gets when buying a brand-new car), and their communication and attitude made the whole experience stress-free. My car has been at this dealership since October 14 (over 5 weeks by now), and the lack of communication and follow-through has been terrible from the start. I was repeatedly promised updates, timelines, and calls back -- and none of them happened. I had to call over and over just to get basic information. Most of the time I was told the advisor wasn't available, or someone would call me back, and it simply never happened. What made the situation even more frustrating was how long the diagnostic process took. I was initially told they would look at my car within a couple of days. Then it became a week. Then another week. I went long stretches with zero updates, and whenever I did get someone on the phone, every person had a different explanation. There was absolutely no consistency or urgency. During all of this, I didn't even have a car. They told me repeatedly that there were no loaners available, even though my vehicle was completely undriveable. It took two full weeks before they finally provided a rental. In the meantime, I had to rely on family, friends, and pay out-of-pocket just to get to work. I work in home health, so being without a car was not just inconvenient -- it disrupted my job, my income, and my daily life. The stress of figuring out transportation every single day took a huge toll on me. Then, after all these delays and no clear answers, the dealership told me they believed the issue was fuel contamination -- something I knew was not true. I've always used proper fuel. Later, they changed their story again and said the problem was actually due to wear and tear, and that I would be responsible for covering the costs. The inconsistency and constant shifting of blame made it feel like they were trying to find any excuse to avoid taking responsibility. It's extremely frustrating to be told one thing one week and something completely different the next. To make matters worse, after they had my car for over a month, they contacted me asking if I could authorize a $10 charge so they could put gas in the car to test drive it. After everything I've been put through, being asked to pay for gas on a car they've had for so long just felt like another example of how unprofessional and dismissive they've been. On top of all this, I've been trying for days to speak with the service manager, Diana, to confirm final costs and get answers before authorizing anything further. Every time I call, I'm told she's "not available," and I've never received a call back. At this point, it honestly feels like I'm being ignored. This entire experience has been emotionally draining, financially stressful, and overwhelmingly disappointing. What should have been a simple diagnostic and repair turned into over a month of delays, miscommunication, shifting stories, and lack of accountability. If you're looking for a service department that communicates, follows through, or treats customers with respect, I would strongly caution you to look elsewhere.

After discussing what day and time to meet, and over the course of waiting for Monday any updates or questions I had he would respond positively. Once I got to the dealership Ivan greeted me and we went to go see the Prelude. Looking around the lot from what I could tell Ivan took care of the vehicles he had, they were detailed from what I could tell and were very organized. When looking over the Prelude he let me look over everything, trunk, touching all the buttons, and there were some problems but just small things like the powered windows not working but I was purchasing a 20+ year car. After that we worked the final process out and now am currently waiting from confirmation from my bank and soon be able to pick it up! There's also a foosball table inside the store but I never got to use it. Ivan told me the store is family owned, and I would recommend purchasing your first vehicle, second, or third vehicle here because the service and communication with Ivan just can't be compared to regular brand dealerships better Update: The car had a check engine light come up but it was just minor like spark plugs and cables needing to be replaced. TL DR, "Ivan" was extremely rude and a sleazy salesman that endangers his clients. Do not buy the…read morered Mazda Protege5 that is for sale (or rather any car that is for sale here) To my credibility, this is not the first Mazda Protoge5 that I have owned, I have done top to bottom maintenance on this kind of car and am not naive nor a novice to this vehicle. That being said, I will detail the pre-test drive issues I found with the car. For starters the glove box handle was broken. Just straight up missing. When I asked how do I open the glove box, "Ivan," said "here let me open it for you." He then proceeded to finger the broken glove box, prying at it to open, where he never got it open, and then just moved on. The roof rack trim is cracked, and on this kind of car this can result in water leaking into the cabin and causing mold to build up. Before the test drive I turned on the ac to test its functionality. The belt that drives the ac let out a loud squealing. I asked him "So whats up with that" and he remarked "its just because you just turned on the ac, it will go away." During my test drive I noticed that the seat belt light does not shut off despite all passengers wearing their seatbelts, I don't even begin to know why. Another problem I noticed is that the shifter linkage needs rebuilding, the shifter is "floppy" and does not return to neutral, you can literally throw it side to side and it will stay there. The two major problems with this car are ones that I consider dangers to the client. The clutch is almost gone in this car. The clutch is "all the way to the floor" meaning the diaphragm spring in said clutch is wearing out. I asked him when the clutch was replaced, he responded that he did not know, this means it is probably still the original 150k mile clutch. The most dangerous of them all is the brakes. I notice that when braking, all of the linkage and body of the car shakes, this means the rotors are warped or severely worn down. This is an EXTREME safety hazard. DO NOT BUY THIS CAR. When I asked him when the brakes were last replaced he claimed that his shop had replaced them. I asked "the pads and rotors, or just the pads" he said "both." Intentionally lying and risking the safety of the client. What bothered me extremely is that when I asked to test drive the vehicle "Ivan" said "look man, I am busy, the price of 5000 is firm if you aren't going to pay full price don't even bother wasting my time" (The audacity of this dude I swear). I drove an hour to purchase the vehicle, and after being extremely mislead, this "Ivan" was not even willing to negotiate. Overall, in my experience with this "Ivan" and the Active Auto Group was not only disrespectful, but downright criminal. Do not even consider buying a car from here. As similar to the other individuals leaving reviews, I was blocked shortly after leaving his lot. This is in an attempt to prevent negative reviews on his Marketplace account that would hurt his pr. I know this "Ivan" will probably respond with some cookie cutter pr rebuttal trying to devalue or dismiss my review. That is because he only cares about making a quick buck at the expense of the safety of his client. Do not be mislead, do not buy a car, do not waste your time, do not risk your life. Also suspicious that on Yelp the name of this location is "Forza" instead of the actual name of "Active Auto Group."
