I've been seeing so many people come here and I just thought it was just dim sum, but it looked like they had so many other things on their menu (like entrees). There would always be outside waiting for a table, so I assumed it would be good. I'm not gonna lie, it was pretty good but our experience was horrible.
The parking lot is big and shared with plenty of other businesses, but if you're unlucky, you'll have to park on the far side of the lot and take a walk to the restaurant. I would just suggest you get there early or at least closer to the time that the restaurant opens. Once it's lunchtime, the parking lot is packed!
The inside of the restaurant is HUGE and very beautifully decorated. There are so many tables, but it was a little odd how close the tables were to each other. It wasn't uncomfortable, but I just felt like there could have been more room. For example, I had my purse hanging on my chair, and every time a server came around, my purse would end up getting a little push. Each table had a table number, except ours. I noticed it, but didn't really think it would be an issue. Well, I was wrong. It became an issue towards the end of our visit.
The food was pretty good but also pricey for the portions they gave. One thing that we noticed was that when we ordered the dim sum, it came out kinda cold. We would expected it to have been freshly steaming hot, but it wasn't. For example, we ordered xiao long bao and you would expect that the inside would be piping hot! It wasn't even warm. And we actually had to wait a little longer for some of our dishes for some reason. We were close to finishing eating our other dishes and then our last 2 dishes came out. It's not a big deal but more of an inconvenience. There was one thing on the menu that I was trying to order (Mango Pudding Piggy) but a server came out to use after we ordered and said they didn't have anymore, so I just accepted it. About 10 minutes later, I see a service holding a giant tray of Mango Puddings. I couldn't tell if they were the Piggies, but I figured I would still ask. So I called a server over to confirm that there were no more of the mango pudding piggies and she said "Yes, there's no more". Later during our visit, the same lady came back with a tray and she had Mango Pudding rabbits. She asked us if we would like those instead and we thanked her. That was very nice of her and that was probably the only enjoyable part of our visit.
The service is HORRIBLE! I'm sorry to say it but that's just how I felt. I understand that it's Chinese food and the majority of their customers are Chinese, but whenever I had a question or need help, the servers weren't able to understand what I was saying and they would have to grab another worker. In addition to that, it was such a struggle to get anyone's attention! This is just the beginning...keep reading!
Once it was time to pay, I asked for the check. When I received it, the total was around $70ish. Okay, no problem. I give them my card and we waited. I always try to keep track of how long it takes to pay the bill, especially with a lot of places nowadays stealing credit card numbers. So I noticed that it was taking a really long time for them to come back with my card...
Remember how I mentioned we didn't have a table number? Well here's where that important fact works into our visit: THEY CHARGED MY CARD TO SOMEONE ELSE'S BILL! Yup, and why am I not surprised especially since we had no table number. And I should've known something was wrong because 2 different servers came back to our table to verify which card was mine. So they voided the last transaction on my card and charged it again for what was supposed to be our table. Well, I check the receipt before signing it and of course ANOTHER DISCREPANCY. They charged us for 2 jasmine teas that we did not order! So I had to flag a manager down and let him know. He was making this horrible excuse saying "well I just don't wanna void it again and charge your card again because the bank might flag your card." I told him, "Well I didn't order that so how can I get it refunded?" And his answer was "Well I can give you a store credit so you can use it on your next visit." In my head, I was saying that we were not coming back so I pretty much just told him to refund me in cash to which he agreed to. Another thing to mention is that they do charge a 15% service charge.
We're definitely not coming back especially eating at the restaurant. This was the most annoying and inconvenient experience I've had in a restaurant in a very long time. It's clear that they don't care about their customers' dining experiences.
Maybe we'll order a to-go order, but I would highly suggest that everyone check their bill before paying and signing off on the receipt! read more
