As a tech-startup professional and a Crossfit coach, I trade off staring at a screen for 8 hours with working out and instructing fitness classes 2 hours -- every day. My body's always in want of some TLC, so I'm picky about my massages. Husband's in the same boat, so occasionally we treat our muscles with a couples' massage. HM Warm Spa absolutely delivered. The place is very clean and nicely decorated. HM's staff greeted us warmly and we were provided a room immediately as soon as we walked in (we walked a couple minutes late past our appointment time due to traffic, but they didn't fuss). The welcoming, low-lit room had a tranquil, pleasant atmosphere with serene quiet music playing. The massage tables themselves were comfortable (neither of us walked out afterwards with indents on our faces from the face cradle). The massage itself was superb! We had requested the 90-minute full-body massage, and it most definitely was that. They devoted just the right amount of time to each body part, and I was really thankful that they also provided facial and neck massages. Everyone has certain problem areas where they're tight or immobile. I noticed my masseuse was able to locate mine and pay special attention to those areas even though I hadn't mentioned a thing about them! I was also pleasantly astonished that they also used hot stones (which we didn't pay additionally for) in our massage, which I had never experienced before! And they wiped us down after using oil with refreshingly hot towels, too. It was amazing. I walked out of the place feeling completely relaxed and limber and my muscles felt completely loosened up. While I've been all over to different luxury massage places (Hawaii resorts included), I have to say HM Warm Spa gave me one of the most impressive massages I've received - ever. read more

5 star: massage 4 star: the place I think I may have been spoiled with my expectations of a massage place having been a member of a really great spa before. But since I moved to the Alhambra area, I've had difficulties finding another place that I liked. The last asian massage place I went to was horrible, so I was hesitant to try this place, but I'm glad I did. What really made my experience was the person I got, Sophia. She was really great and listened to what I really wanted and spent more time on the problem areas I pointed out in the beginning. I got the combo body and feet for $49.99 and it came with hot stone massage. It was my first time getting a hot stone massage and it felt great. It was also the best foot massage I've ever gotten. I also liked that she asked me first if I wanted my face massaged, which I don't like, so I said no. The last place I went to, she just started touching my face, which made the experience uncomfortable from the start. Sophia was great. It was kind of weird though that I couldn't find her afterward. I found out that she was already massaging someone else. I don't think she even got a 5 minute break in between :(, but she was able to step out so I could at least hand her her tips. I'm hoping she prefers it that way though, because she gets more customers. Sophia was very caring and I recommend requesting for her if you ever check out this place... and tip well please. The lady in the front was very kind also. Now, to the reasons I left out one star. I hate to not give this place a 5 star, because I think they really care about the quality of service they provide. But the bed and towels were uncomfortable. I think if the bed was softer (maybe add an extra cushion on top) and if they provided actual sheets rather than just towels, it would have made a big difference. Sadly I'm only in LA once a year otherwise I'd come here every single week. This place accommodates last minute appointments. They're so well priced that even tipping 100 percent I still paid less than what I would for a 60 minute massage in Boston. Erica is storing some ungodly strength in those tiny muscles and she found some crazy knots and tension I desperately needed worked out. For all you uninitiated souls (and I see some of you leaving reviews) this is not your typical white person spa. The cheapest deal is usually done with your clothes on in a non private room, so wear loose clothes. Although they do have private rooms for the non foot based massages. The masseuse probably doesn't speak a whole ton of English so you're not going to get a 10 minute pre massage interview. But it doesn't matter bc they can immediately figure out what's wrong with your muscles just by touching them. Like good massage therapists. And for the love of God - when i see people tipping a "generous" 20 percent at a place where a massage costs $30...ugh. I genuinely think the idea that we tip service people based on the price of the service is insane. My masseuse was climbing all over my table, grabbing my arms and legs and stretching me around, stepping on my back, and never let up the pressure. Meanwhile i've had people at $100 places half heartedly slap some lotion on me and rub it in slowly. My rule is I always tip at least $15 for a good massage regardless of how much it cost. Granted i purposely don't go to super expensive places. But a good masseuse is freakin really working for it and I just wish for these kinds of things we get rid of the percentage bias. So just think about that when you go to these value massage joints. They're probably making minimum wage and they need to touch your nasty ass feet so tip according. read more

This is definitely NOT your average "foot massage place". I would say get rid of -happy feet- and put an HM Warm Spa. Now the setting, does need more room. Four beds are in the same area as the waiting room (enclosed with curtains only). So it is hard to relax. But I go for the massage. I like to get the $25 foot massage. Two ladies open the door and greeted us she then proceeded for us to face up. The massages went very well however her use of straight was a little too strong which was a good thing however it kept me sore for days. After the massage with then they handed us each a cup of water, During check out she charged us $60 for two massages although the flier says $25 for a great value so basically I felt like I got conned however I paid $81 with $10 tips to each masseuse Including one dollar credit card transaction fee . This was my second time here. The first time I came was with a friend and she loved her massage. I did too and decided to bring my boyfriend here. He said it was probably the best massage he's ever had. And I'd have to agree. The place is nice and clean. The staff speaks pretty decent English and they're always very kind. They barely talk during the massage. It's all good, nothing to complain about. The only thing that might be difficult is finding street parking and it's on a one-way street so it can be a little tricky. My masseuse was so good! I believe the host told me her name was Lucy. But the first masseuse I has was also good. Because I had a good experience both times, I am assuming that their staff all gives good massages. The price is great, $25 for an hour. They call it a foot massage but they also do your head, neck, shoulders, back, legs, and feet. I would definitely recommend this place. Booked a same-day couple's massage for 60 minutes, and it was great! My wife was having some back pain, and I had just started working out after a while, having all kinds of soreness. My wife's back loosened up and is feeling great, and my pain went down loads. The pressure was good and strong for both of us, and we loved the hot stone. It feels incredibly good along your muscles. Good amount of back work, and also on the legs. When we flipped over, there was a nice facial massage, and some work on the arms and front of the legs. I have been here a few times and tried their foot massage and it's always been sufficient. For the the price, you can't beat it. I have also tried their full body massage and it is only been alright. When I received a give certificate for a massage here, I was excited to come again. Feeling extra stressed, I decided to get longer massage than what the certificate covered. The massage itself was top notch, almost falling asleep because it was so good. The downfall of this place is the customer service. Upon paying for my massage, there was confusion on how much I had to pay. First the lady said $50, having misunderstood I had a gift certificate. Then she corrected herself and said $20. I paid cash and gave the lady $40 and asked for change, intending to leave $15 for tip. The ladies then proceeded to talk in Chinese and one of them was on their cell phone. Feeling confused, the lady on the phone handed me the cell phone. I can only assume that it was the owner/manager who I spoke to, but she asked how I liked my massage and I said it was good. She then told me that since it was good, I should leave $20 tip instead. Never have I experience this in my life when I was asked to pay more tip. I felt confused and disappointed, in which took away from the pleasant experience of the massage. Mind you that the massage was not discounted, even though it was being paid by a gift certificate, I felt it was totally unprofessional to ask a customer to tip more. I consider myself a pretty good tipper, so I was shocked when I was put on the phone with the manager asking to tip more. I believe this is more of a cultural issue where the establishment does not hesitate to be forward when it comes with money. I seriously hope that they improve in their customer service and focus on having customers wanting to come back to their place. Looking past the 4-star reviews, I do see that there are multiple complaints about the service and charging more for the tip especially by card. I have been to the spa to do massage since 4,5 years ago even when I was pregnant. I belive the service and the tip should be relevant. So sometimes I gave less tip for worse service but it's always more than $10. I was trying to book an appointment today and the owner told me I cannot only give them $10 tip no matter how bad the service might be. She said all the spa workers was talking about me saying that I gave more tip before I was pregnant (2019). I remembered I gave the same tip all the time even before pregnancy, I just gave less tip ($10) when I had bad experience, which was only once or twice. The way the owner talked to me today was definitely accusing me and disrespectful. She said because of covid it's hard for her to find workers, but I believe she shouldn't blame me for this. I have always been paying their stated rate on the menu and I noticed some of the customers were even paying less than the rate. And I was blamed for not giving enough tip and scaring her workers away. The worse thing was they gossip about (saying I was cheap after I got pregnant) customers. It's totally unreasonable. They should've put a sign to show how much minimum tip customer should pay everytime. read more
