Had a birthday celebration here with family. Was surprised by the great service and variety of food. We ordered a combo BBQ, ginseng chicken soup, tofu soup, and a side of bulgolgi. Billy, our server was attentive, friendly, and helpful. We were asked if we want to cook the meat ourselves or they could help us. We took their offer and enjoyed the meal while they cooked the meat to perfection. The inside was spacious and there is a large area in the back that has large tables for large parties. It looks like they could seat 40-50 people. This restaurant is located at the mall (second floor outdoor), it's best to park at the parking structure near Macy's/Nordstrom's area.

Over the years, Hodori quietly became my family's go-to Korean BBQ restaurant. We value the price point, the ability to always get a table, the ample parking at the Santa Anita Mall, and the staff who help cook your meats. We always order a Small Pork Combination, which comes with a marinated pork steak, pork jowl, pork belly, and a spicy pork, and your choice of stew (we always get the doengjang chigae). We add a gyeran jjim steamed egg and we are set. They have an ample number of banchan side dishes (usually around 8) and our favorites are the potato salad and broccoli. Even the cheese corn is refillable. This is just about the perfect amount of food for 3 people. If we're with another family, we usually order a small Beef Combination to accompany the pork and that's great too with a lot of brisket. The food quality is good and service is prompt. Lately, I've had to cook our meats a bit more than I'd like but if you insist that staff help you, they will. We really like this place.

Let me start off by saying it's not AYCE and that's okay. At a certain point in your life you come to realize AYCE is not all about quality. As someone who can eat and considers himself a kbbq connoisseur this place checks all the boxes. From the moment you sit down, the experience starts with the banchan (side dishes) and it's clear right away that this is where the restaurant shines. The side dishes are house made, and you can taste the difference immediately. Each one feels fresh, balanced, and thoughtfully seasoned rather than mass-produced. The kimchi isn't fermented so it's not sour. Our server said it's made fresh which gives it a super flavorful garlic taste. I actually eat more banchan than actual meats at times so it was a bit. When it comes to the bbq itself, the meats are well-cut and thoughtfully marinated. I prefer the traditional non marinated meat such as brisket and beef belly over bulgogi. The combos they offered for two people was more than enough even with leftovers to take. That's the benefit of not going to ayce you can take your left overs home. This is the kind of KBBQ spot you recommend when someone wants more than just a filling meal they want a good one. It's ideal for date nights, small groups, or anyone who appreciates thoughtfully prepared food. You leave satisfied but not weighed down, already thinking about which dishes you'd order next time. Parking is easy. Not too busy. Good Hugh quality food. Servers cook for you. What more can you ask for.

Stopped here on a Friday night. We got reservations, but we didn't need it since it's pretty spacious inside so lots of room for big and small groups alike. We got the pork combo and half an order of ribs. I don't eat beef so I'm grateful for the ample amount of pork options. It does lean really fatty, but that's pork for you lol. We accidentally got an xl soup with our order so they let us keep it. All the food was great and servers were super helpful and friendly. Pricing felt standard for the area/quality. I'll definitely be back!

They are located in the Promenade (outside the mall -- near 3Cat). The mall itself has plenty of parking spaces, but it can also be hard to find a spot if it's packed. We ordered the Beef Special Combo, and shareable between 5 people. The meat quality was good and sliced thin, so it cooks easily. It comes with the usual side dishes, and you can get refills on them. You get three sauces, but you would need to ask for oil since the salt doesn't come with oil. Overall, everything was good! We walked by Hodori BBQ many times but never got the opportunity to try it out. The craving for sullungtang was real so we decided it was time after shopping. Restaurant is clean and spacious. Servers were friendly and food arrived fast. They were not stingy on banchan and asked if we wanted any refills. Sullungtang was delicious - The soup was so flavorful and it hit the spot right away. Self-served green onions were not on the table next to the salt, but I'm pretty sure I could've asked for more if I wanted them. I will come back next time!

Hondori has been my favorite Korean restaurant outside of Koreatown since they opened. They have the best lunch specials for Korean soups, and I find myself always wanting to come here for lunch or get takeout. Everything on their menu is good. I've tried their BBQ and several other dishes. My favorites are the dolsot bibimbap, samgyetang, and donkatsu. If you find yourself in Arcadia and craving Korean food, this is the place. Parking is never a problem, as there is plenty of parking in the mall. Service is generally good, but it can get busy at times, so the wait may be slow. The restaurant is spacious, and they even use robots to bring out food, especially for Korean BBQ orders. It's quite fun to watch the robots running around. All in all, come here for lunch -- you won't regret it.

After an afternoon of retail therapy, my best friend and I worked up an appetite and decided to come here. I haven't had KBBQ in a while. It's pretty clutch that there's one at the mall. Price is decently priced. It's not your average AYCE KBBQ, which can be mid by the way, but it one does it the spot. We ordered off the BBQ because realistically we don't need a COMBO. So we got the Prime Beef Brisket, $35.88. Enough for two women. Brisket and sides were A1 steak sauce! This brisket just hits different. Overall great experience with happy tummies! Super satisfied!

That alone gave us a good feeling--and after eating here with family, I can confidently say it's a solid 4 out of 5. What We Liked: No wait! We came for a family meal and were seated immediately, even on a weekend. That's rare for KBBQ. Spacious interior with big tables--perfect for large groups or families. Clean restrooms--always appreciated. Ample parking since it's located at The Shops at Santa Anita. No street parking struggles like other KBBQ spots. Food Highlights: Important to note: This is not an all-you-can-eat KBBQ--you order à la carte or by combo. But don't let that scare you off, because the meat portions are generous, and we even had leftovers to take home. We ordered the Beef Special Small Combo, and the meat quality was excellent. Every cut was tender, flavorful, and grilled beautifully on their high-quality setup. Banchan selection was limited compared to other KBBQ places, but what was served tasted great. Steamed egg: 3/5 - simple and soft, but nothing to rave about. Omurice (for our daughter): Huge portion, decent taste (3/5), but didn't look like the menu photo. Instead of a soft omelet, it was fried rice topped with scrambled egg. Bibim naengmyun: 3/5 - light and refreshing, but lacked bold flavors. My husband said he'd skip it next time. We also realized after the meal that we never received the kimchi stew that was supposed to come with the beef combo--a miss on the service side, and something that should've been caught. Service: Good but Could Be More Attentive Ordering was fast and easy. Staff works in a team-style service model, so multiple people helped throughout the meal. However, we had to flag someone down every time we needed something--water, sauces, grill change, etc. Once flagged, service was quick and efficient, but more proactive attention would've improved the experience. A good example: my husband's naengmyun didn't come with vinegar, and we had to request it separately. Final Thoughts: If you're coming here for KBBQ, Hodori delivers--excellent meat, fast seating, big portions, and a clean, family-friendly environment. Just know that the non-KBBQ menu items are average, and service is more reactive than proactive. That said, the meat alone makes it worth coming back, and in a city full of hyped-up KBBQ spots with hour-long waits, Hodori is refreshingly easy and satisfying.

I came back and instead of meat, got the spicy raw marinated crab and naengmyeon. Both were great in taste and portion. It was very refreshing and service was great.

I've heard about Hodori BBQ and finally had the opportunity to try it a while ago. My family and I came here because there is no wait during dinner time. I must say I am not impressed and I will not come back here again in the future. Despite my negative review of this restaurant, it was a full house and I'm sure they will continue to have customers. We ordered the Beef Special Small Combo and two orders of the Premium Thin Sliced Pork Belly (Regular). Service here is nowhere to be found and you must ask for every little thing or else they just dropped off the food and disappear for a long time. You cook the meat yourself. Also, check the drawer for utensils and napkins. Meat quality was not that great and for once I would say pork belly was better than beef. We left feeling icky and smelly since the hood does not work. For the price we paid that night, I could have gone to another KBBQ place and quality would be better and they would have cooked for us. That is just my experience and opinion.

Came to Hodori on a Saturday night... After a full day of shopping at the Arcadia Mall I can now rest my feet in one of their giant diner sized booths...it's ok... I couldn't find the Labubu I was hoping to find... maybe next time... Server robots wander robotically throughout the whole establishment with raw meats and Korean delicacies... stop staring... sit down... robots don't like it when you stare at their naked meats...behave yourself... Pretty soon one of these "server things" will bring your food to your table... wait! Where's the server !? No server needed...they only come to unload all the "heavy lifting " the robot had to do to bring your food to your table...pretty soon human servers will be obsolete... not sure how I feel about that... a human server always makes me feel superior... now I'm gonna have to settle for a condescending electric gadget handling my food.... ... papa robo is gonna handle your order from now on.... Is this the future?! My Galbi BBQ ribs and sides were served up from the robot tray by an actual human being and then MY robotic charm kicked in ! my CHOMPERS.. !! were separating meat from bone like an industrial meat grinder from turn of the century London...yea I'm a bit out dated... but I got the job done... Delicious Galbi meat with over 16 pieces at $50 ain't bad... $68 total bill...comes with rice and a few Korean kimchi's and bean sprout and potato salad starters... is that tofu broccoli?! Not sure but good! We shared everything between two pesky humans... Who cares...!! I'm willing to accept this new robot trend...I promise to be kind to our new robot friends... It's good... it's meaty!! Nom nom ... beep beep! We out!

Good quality of food. Great location and great service! Situated in the Santa Anita Mall, on the outside patio area, next to CPK and Macy's exit. (So closest parking is around Macy's area) Nice Korean BBQ store which offer pure BBQ or other Korean food option. So your party can separated if only a few like BBQ but others are into the Korea soup option. We tried the small beef combo. It said that it's for 1-2 ppl. But the portion is pretty big, together with all the side dishes, rice and veggie, it can easily work for 3-4 ppl(If none are heavy meat eaters) Meat is tender and flavorful. Side dishes are fresh. Kimchi is nicely flavor as well. We also order kimchi fried rice. It's ok. Not the greatest that I had before. But ok. Will definitely come back to try other dishes next time.

Hmmmm. Prior reviews are correct. They cook the food in front of you to the point where you can't have any conversation. They also cooked the food not to our liking and rushed through cooking all the meats. No breaks in between. It was awkward and uncomfortable. We ordered the small beef combo and the short rib was tender and delicious. The brisket was whatevs. Honestly I wouldn't come back because of the experience. read more

Came here for the lunch special. While it wasn't particularly busy, the restaurant seemed understaffed, which affected the overall service. Several servers were not attentive at all and spent time chatting in the corner. One of the lead servers was great, but there just weren't enough of him to make up for the lack of attentiveness. The meats were poorly cut, and aside from the brisket, many pieces were too chewy or tough to swallow. I think there's definitely room for improvement in both service and the quality of the meats. read more

New KBBQ spot at the Promenade area of the Santa Anita Mall. The 2 of us shared the small beef combo which comes with wagyu galbi, wagyu bulgogi, brisket, and short rib. The combo also comes with salad, a kim chi or soy bean paste stew, and various banchan. Their regular kitchen menu is also extensive with noodles, tofu soup, and various appetizers. We added the omurice, it was a generous portion and delicious. Our favorite from the beef combos were the two wagyu items. The worker does come by and cook the different meat for us, but it's not as attentive as I would say at BaekJeong. We had already started cooking when they came by, then later it was getting a bit burnt so we had to take it out ourselves. I think they will cook for you if they happen to walk by? That part I'm not really sure about, so I would say pay attention to your food and not rely on the workers to cook for you. Otherwise, the meat quality is good and I would come back to try other combos and kitchen items since I'm at this mall often. read more

My family loves this place and kept trying to bring me and after finally joining them today I can see why. We dropped by when they opened on a tuesday afternoon and it was one of the better kbbq experiences i've had. We got the x-large despite only having 3 people because I wanted to try all the meats lol, and planned on taking the rest home if we couldn't finish. All of the meat had nice marbling, and was cut perfectly. Very worth the price you're paying. Service was amazing. Everyone working was super friendly. They cooked our meats for us on the grill and their timing was beautiful to watch. They always showed up at the perfect time to flip all the meats even though they were fairly busy. We were eating slower than the meat was finishing they brought out a little tray to put on the grill to keep the meat hot but not overcook. When they could tell that we were full they brought out to go containers and cooked the meat and put them away for us. read more

Food, service, and location! Everything is perfect! The beef combo is soooo delicious. It is juicy and soft and premium quality. All side dishes are awesome, and the salad is fresh. I've had salad refills many times. The staff were friendly and the service was nice and fast. I didn't have to wait to make eye contact with the staff. They were always ready for my needs. I ate a beef combo, but there were many other meals, and I had to-go galbitang for my family. They could have such a delicious dinner that evening. Highly recommend this restaurant. read more

Came here for the first time and we were both pleasantly surprised. My wife and i ordered a small beef combo which we were hesitant to order since the platter looked small but ended up being enough for us to share. Even took home leftovers. Our server Amy was friendly and attentive. My favorite was the pink radish, delicious! If you come here on a Tuesday night be prepared for a bit of a wait as they looked quite busy but the beef was tender and superb. Worth it. Will definitely be back. I recommend going earlier if you want to skip the dinner rush. read more

This is my first time here and I had a very positive experience. There wasn't a long wait and the restaurant was very clean. Most importantly, the meat was very fresh!! Our server Ryan was very attentive to us. We were treated like royalty! He cooked the meat for us and we never had to cook anything ourselves. The ventilation was very good as well. We didn't come out smelling like we came from a bbq sauna. I didn't even see any smokes! And here, they used very good grills - never had to change the grill and all the meat came out so tasty. Ive been coming here for a few months now and I honestly feel like the servers, or most servers at least, care about the restaurant and the food comes out with consistent quality. But I give it a 1 star mostly because of the lack of care the restaurant as a whole gets from who im guessing is the owner. Broken bench seats that havent been fixed, oily and stained water bottles that I sometimes have to ask for to be washed again because the water tastes weird. Stained cups or cutlery. And even the food, while it can be good. There have been too many occasions where my brisket sits there and is just gray until it becomes super dry from the lack of fat. And I take a bite, and sometimes it is the toughest, driest beef i have ever eaten. And don't even get me started on how when it is busy, how long it takes sometimes for your food to come out at times or how difficult it is to get a server to help you. Last week I had to wait 20 minutes after a 40 minute long wait to finally have someone ask us if we would like to order. read more

After reading all about bad service, inattentive service in this location. We still decide to give it a try! All I can say is, everyone's comment holds. The food and meat quality is not bad at all, I would say for $80(2 persons) pretty good! However, their service is sooo bad. They put your mean inside the grill and not coming back for it. When you want to cook by ur self, they keep trying to stop you but keep overcooking your meat. They don't let you know when it's last order even it was 1hr away from their close time. Also, when I tried to give them honest feedback for their improvement. They don't seem care and listening at all. I wouldn't recommend this place. Just go to Kang Ho Dong ! Haha environment is okay not too loud and but airflow not perfect. read more

HEAR ME OUT. Great food, great service. The meat is good quality. For me, it is def 4-5 stars, but the reason it is 3(personally a smidge off 4) is two things; Way too fast. Got a small combo and it was very rushed. They cooked it too fast, came to our table a lot so it was hard to keep private conversations, and the food was just piling up. It would've been better if they just did everything a bit more apart and was observant enough to see how fast their guests were eating to consider cooking more. Also, why am I being charged for a box? This place is high end, expects an 18% tip for quality and service, and it isn't even AYCE, it's full priced. Why am I being charged .50 for a Togo box? Yall couldn't bear losing a .50 box? A bit odd to me, that sounds insensitive and cheap. read more

This restaurant is still in it's "soft opening" stage at the time of this review but regardless, I had a wonderful experience here! Not only is the food and service excellent but, believe it or not, they have robots that deliver your food to you! You heard correctly. ROBOTS! Welcome to the future folks! This was really cool to see and kinda surreal. Ignore all the negative reviews of this restaurant as they are a bunch of nonsense. i only went here bc my parents insisted? i think they just wanted korean food and failed to tell me that it's a bit lackluster... the galbi seasoning is way too sweet and salty. the meat quality is great! my parents liked that it wasn't unnaturally soft like some other korean bbq places - where the meat tastes suspiciously tender...? i feel like if they change their seasoning/marinade, it would be so much better none of the servers were korean or spoke any - not a big deal - but it just seemed like they didn't really know how to cut and grill. one server kept trying to cut the meat at its rawest (galbi cuts better when it's been grilled a little). the heat for the meat was not so right either and we had to adjust. the server also forgot things we had asked for a couple of times their gaejang (marinated raw crab) was actually pretty good. i may come back for that. and reasonably priced when you go for the lunch prices. the banchans are not so memorable. sorry for the lack of pics. read more

Hodori?!? As in the 24/7 soondobu place in ktown? Yes! Went from eating Hodori after clubbing to eating with family for kbbq. It's on the outskirts of the shoppes at Santa Anita. The food was fresh and delicious. They're japchae was well seasoned but the kimchi fried rice wasn't sour enough. The sulungtang was delicious. My 7 yr old enjoyed his first experience. One of my favorite types of soup too. There's a good variety of banchan. You also won't leave with a kbbq smell. The vents are built into the sides of the grill. Genius. They also have robot waiters but they didn't even come to our table! We did see it pass by to the kitchen. Plenty of seating for large parties. Highly recommended. read more

Ive been here a couple of times now and it seems like every time I come back there is always something new. They added mulnaengmyun and bibimnaemyun which is the PERFECT combination with kbbq. Personally, i liked the mulnaengmyun as it comes with refreshing soup. Add to that they have Draft beer now! Got the Kirin draft in a nice looking glass. And to top it off they finally got some ice cream for dessert! I gotta say, this new kbbq place is looking pretty great! Hope they stick around. Also i read some of the reviews about service but i think many ppl are mistaking kbbq to have servers cook your entire meal. Hands down this is the best Korean restaurant in the 626 area. I always crave for their cold noodle and marinated beef. The cold noodle soup is perfect for hot summer days. My friend got the spicy cold noodle and she loved it too (the flavor is not spicy at all)They also have bbq combo options that are good for sharing. Me and my family have been here several times and we all love the food. The restaurant is very clean and nice. Service is always attentive and the owner is very accommodating. This is our second time. We ordered the 149 beef combo for one adult and two teenagers. Luckily, each person has their own bowl of rice. If your party have more than three people, you guys need to share the rice. I still had my ginseng chicken soup and rice . The chicken meat was softer compared to my last experience. I used Yelp to place my wait list. When arrived, the waiter did not look up my yelp placing order. He just followed his own list. So, we started waiting for a table when we arrived. You can left your mobile numbers to him and walked around in the mall. When your table was ready, they called you. The seat planner was polite and gentle. We did not mind wait a few more minutes because the line was not that long. I was a bit confused by its Yelp wait list system. Should we continue use it or not?? The quality of 149 beef combo was still good. There was one kind of steak did not offer in the 79 beef combo. That steak was super soft and melt in your mouth. In general, they offer high premium meat and good services. I hope they can carry out more promotion and offer mid-price range meat combo for customers to select. read more

Some of the staff have been there for a long time and know a lot of the customers. Overall, this is my favorite restaurant in the neighborhood, and when Monrovia comes up in conversation, I always mention Jake's :)

I always felt like ordering plain broth at Haidilao might be a waste of all the famous soup bases Today I met up with a friend at the mall, and he suggested Haidilao, so I decided to give it a try. I'm so glad I did! The vegetables were fresh, the meat was delicious, and everything tasted great. I wish I had come here sooner. The service was excellent, the restaurant was clean and comfortable, and I really enjoyed the sauce bar and side dishes. What makes it even better is that I actually work right next door, so it's super convenient for me. I also found out they have a great lunch special, which is a really good value. I think I'll be coming back often for hot pot lunches. Highly recommend!

There were 4 different noodle options - standard round, flat, knife cut, and triangle. I got the knife cut and it was so fresh and chewy. The broth was rich and flavorful without being too salty or spicy. Wish there were more chunks of beef shank and tendon but not a big deal! Really enjoyed how the beef tendon was very tender and not too fatty. However, the beef shank was a bit too dry and rough in texture for my preference. Overall, I enjoyed the noodles and the broth, as well as the beef tendon! The Signature Beef Noodle Soup ($15.50) was good. Really enjoyed the noodles since I got knife cut so it was very fresh and chewy! Definitely recommend their knife cut noodles! The broth was slightly too salty and I wasn't a big fan of the broth because it tasted a bit minty due to some of the herbs and spices used perhaps? I didn't like the beef since it was too dry and rough but I still ate it all because I don't like wasting food. Overall, I definitely enjoyed the Spicy Beef and Tendon Noodle Soup more than the Signature Beef Noodle Soup. Also, I liked the noodles much more than the broth and beef.

In my opinion, it was not the best on the day we visited and tasted bitter from what I usually expect. Other than that, everything else was great and I would definitely come back.

The waiter responsible for cooking our meal appeared to be in a hurry, preparing everything at a rapid pace. It felt as though they were eager to wrap up our dining experience, even though the restaurant's closing time was still a good distance away at 10 pm. What made the situation less enjoyable was that once one set of meat was cooked, the next batch was immediately placed on the grill, leaving us with little time to savor the already cooked portions. Considering the price, it's worth mentioning that you might find a more satisfying experience at an all-you-can-eat establishment. To add to the rushed feeling, we hadn't finished our meal when the check was promptly brought to our table, making us feel like we were being hurried out the door. While the presentation of the food was aesthetically pleasing, the overall quality of the meat didn't quite meet our expectations. In summary, it's important to be cautious when dining here, especially if you plan to arrive later in the evening past 8 pm. We have been to Hodori Korean Restaurant in Arcadia Mall a few times with friends, and it was a pretty good experience! The menu offers a variety of traditional dishes, and each one was packed with delicious flavors. I recommend the Suluntang and Galbitang, both hearty and soothing in flavor, perfect for a comforting meal. The Tofu Soup was warm and flavorful, and the Korean Kimchi Fried Rice had just the right amount of spice, kimchi and flavor. The Galbi BBQ Beef was tender and delicious, grilled to perfection. The Omelet Rice was a great addition with right amount of tomato sauce, creamy and satisfying. The only downside to the restaurant with the high ceilings and open space setting, the air ventilation system isn't quite working properly, which made the entire restaurant smell like a very smokey BBQ joint, which might not be ideal for everyone and especially young children who are sensitive to smoke and smells. Still, the food and service were great, and we would definitely return for another round of these amazing dishes with generous free refills of banchan. read more

Hodori, once a favorite KBBQ spot, has seen a decline in both quantity and service. Our usual order, the small beef combo and Theok Nanduguk (dumpling and rice cake soup), was a must when we visited. We placed our order and received most of our food promptly, except for the soup. When I inquired about its whereabouts, our waiter promised to check on it but never returned. During this time, other waiters would usually assist us with grilling the meat. After a while, a waitress came and asked about the soup again. Our original waiter finally arrived, apologized, and informed us that the order had been mishandled and the soup wouldn't be coming. He offered us free soda or tea as compensation, but we were already full and didn't appreciate the gesture. The waiter never returned after that, and we had to ask someone else for the check before leaving. We understand that mistakes can occur, but they certainly could have handled the situation more effectively by checking on us and our order more promptly. read more

Last night, our party of 4 enjoyed the tasty food at Hodori BBQ without any issues until we received the check. Surprisingly, we were charged an automatic gratuity meant for parties of +6. Despite our intention to generously tip for the delicious meal, when I questioned the waitress, she offered a blank stare and returned the check without addressing my concerns. I persisted, pointing out the discrepancy in our party size versus the added gratuity. The waitress took the check, but as she discussed the matter with her colleagues in a foreign language, laughter ensued, leaving us feeling ridiculed. "Perfect Spot for Hosting Guests" Came here on a Saturday night for a dinner with guests. Despite the crowd, the staff handled the wait time with grace and seated us at a very comfortable table. The service was excellent throughout the night. Our server explained the menu clearly, helping us choose the Large Beef Combo. I had an amazing experience at Hodori KBBQ, and a huge part of that was thanks to Billy, our waiter. From the moment we sat down, Billy was incredibly attentive, friendly, and on top of everything. He checked in at the perfect times, made sure our grill was taken care of, and never let our table run out of sides or meats. What really stood out was how genuinely welcoming he was -- you could tell he cared about making sure we had the best dining experience possible. The waitress was super friendly, and they even had a robot-assisted server--which was a neat surprise and definitely added some charm. The food was solid overall. The food here is great and its honestly really nice having a decently priced Korean food spot in the area that serves both good quality BBQ and al a carte options in an area that is lacking in more affordable yet authentic Korean cuisine. Sure there are other KBBQ and Korean restaurants around, but Hodori has been the most affordable Korean food in the area that is comparable to those found in K-Town or Korea.
