Had my first visit today since the start of the pandemic. Eggs Benedict was absolutely amazing. I asked for it without home fries and was given them anyways which felt really wasteful as I never like them and won't eat them. The "homemade chai" is definitely from a powdered mix and not homemade as described. I don't know if this is just due to being off season, but the ambiance has gone way down compared with when I was here last. You order at the counter & they serve you at the table with to-go containers and plastic cutlery. That's fine if it's warm enough to eat outside I guess. But it really takes away from the experience of sitting down to eat at a restaurant. Not to mention, doesn't seem environmentally friendly. Totally worth a visit if you live or visit close enough to grab takeout but I wouldn't come back to eat in. read more

Nice find on a grey dismal morning. COVID conscience, very clean and well set up. Friendly staff, seated and waited quickly. We ate lite so didn't sample some the excellent sounding dishes. My friend and I were craving breakfast food at 6:00 in the morning, and Hole In One was the only place that was open so we went for it, without regret! The hospitality is friendly, the interior is so spacious, and the food is pleasant. We were seated upstairs, but I went down to order a few donuts since the bakery counter was right across from the entrance. I got a honey glaze donut and apple fritter, both of which were fresh and delicious. The apple fritter was more sweet, but speckled with cinnamon and brown sugar and apple chunks in every bite. The honey glaze had a mild sweet coating with doughy, yeasty goodness as a base. One of the best donuts ever! Our entrees came SUPER quickly which I loved!!!! Got the crab cake benedict and californian benedict, both highlights. haven't ever seen benedict's laid atop a bed of spinach but that was nice to soak up all the good hollandaise sauce with! the crab cake was flavorful but not too rich, which can sometimes be overwhelming. the californian was refreshing, focaccia nicely toasted. Never a bad meal here. Staff is amazing and they pivoted fantastically duringCovid requirements. The tent outside is great. Only complaint is that the tent is for people getting takeout, and people think tables are for waiting. Twice we had to leave because there was no where to sit once we got our food. I feel bad for this place to get such low reviews. People are going to be jerks and most of them only will review places when they are angry and grumpy and it's Not fair because that is some of the workers and owners livelihood But I understand that yea maybe the kids in the front arnt the happiest I've ever seen but you have to remember they are probably not old Enough to drink and this really is just something they are doing to make the summer go by and to be productive. Went here for breakfast this past weekend and wow was it a long wait, we were told 20 mins but ended up waiting 45 mins. I guess that's expected on a beautiful Sunday though so we stuck it out and waited. Finally after being seated we were waited on. I ordered eggs benedict with avocado with a small side order of biscuits and gravy. Everything was fantastic! The eggs were cooked perfectly runny and the gravy on the biscuits was to die for! The home fries were simple but had a lovely flavor sometimes less is more. My boyfriend ordered an omelette and he said he was very happy with his choice! It was filling and tasted great. I'm so glad my boyfriend and I decided to wait! Everything was really good. The seating was a bit tight downstairs but there's also a second floor with seating. Very slow service. We waited almost 2 hours and were consistently told 20 more minutes, hostess was rude and was frustrated at us when we would ask about where we were in the queue. Food was adequate, not worth the wait. I had the veggie omelet with rye toast, I don't think they even toasted the bread! I really enjoy this place - they have a great sour cream doughnuts and I really enjoy their bagels. Be prepared to wait in line when you are there, because they certainly a popular breakfast joint. I had high hopes for this place based on the reviews and pics. Unfortunately, it didn't meet those expectations. When we entered, it seemed a little disorganized and a little confusing on how or where to order. On the plus side, between the outdoor seating and indoor, there was a good amount of space. The bakery case looked good and I was looking forward to trying the "Mostest Cupcake" (their take on Hostess). I ordered one of their sandwiches while my partner ordered a burger. The sandwich was good and I think it would've been better if it came with fries, chips, or a salad like the burger did. Unfortunately, although I placed an order for a cupcake, I didn't receive it. I've been coming here for years, and always been pleased with the food and service. The first time this year we stoped for lunch. When walking in the door we were greeted by the most unfriendly hostess, did not say a word but gave a us a stare like we didn't belong here.We placed our order, found a table and waited. when our food came it wasn't the order we placed but the server insisted it was. She was wrong and rather trying to fix the problem she insisted she was right. Then the "hostess came up and I told her she should work on her interpersonal skills and she went ballistic, yelling etc. We left and vowed never to return. This place is decent for the Cape, a place I find to be lacking in the deliciousness department. The potatoes that came with my Benedict and the grilled corn muffin were the best parts. The California Benedict was fine. The hollandaise was bland and there wasn't enough spinach for my liking, but the eggs were poached perfectly. The iced coffees were ok, a bit on the sour side and weak. We were happy they had oat milk. We split a glazed donut - it was super soft and not too sweet. My wife & I had brunch at Hole In One today. Very disappointing. This restaurant has changed significantly and it is all bad. You order your meal at the counter before you sit down. Even though there were only a few customers in the restaurant, the wait time was long. The food was not good. My breakfast sandwich reminded me of McDonalds for twice the price. We were both craving sandwiches and were pleasantly surprised to find that the focaccia was excellent (not surprised that this place had great bread, but we usually find focaccia for sandwiches to be stale at other places). I placed an order for pickup and was delighted with how quick and easy it was, however when I brought my order home I found that an eggs Benedict I had ordered on gluten free toast was actually an eggs Benedict with a side of GF toast. As a result, my entire meal was inedible as I have a severe food allergy, which was marked on the order. I tried calling the restaurant 9 different times to correct the issue, but the number on ChowNow wasn't working. This restaurant has to fix this if they're going to continue serving people with food allergies, or else people are going to get really sick. The manager (white woman, middle aged, brown hair, black polo) is unnecessarily rude. I told her I have a dairy allergy. She meanly asked if it's deadly. I said it wasn't but eating even butter will make me throw up for 3 hours. She asked again if it's deadly. I said the same thing - confused as to why she was persistent since I just explained. She aggressively said they can't make their food without dairy (they have fruit cups, bagels, and other food that obviously isn't made with dairy). I don't understand why I was treated this way. I was not rude, stayed patient, and never raised my voice. The menu includes an entire gluten free section so I assumed (like most people) that the staff would also know about dairy- especially since dairy intolerance or allergies are way more common in America and especially in minority populations (Koreans 40% of adults). But I guess the manager felt being very rude and hostile to my reasonable question was necessary. Never coming back here until she's fired. read more

I love Hole in One, except for one thing that they don't seem to correct. I've probably eaten there 150 times. I'm a vegetarian. I often order eggs, home fries and toast. They consistently fry their eggs and home fries on a grill loaded with bacon fat. The last thing I want is to have my eggs taste like they are fried in bacon. Other restaurants somehow solve this problem, as I rarely experience this elsewhere. So, I know there is a solution. I wish they would solve this. I love this restaurant and the friendly wait staff. Wow. One of the best breakfasts I've ever had. My wife and I both had the Fairway eggs benedict and were blown away. It was a slight twist on traditional and was a great combination. We went on a Sunday morning for brunch and the line seemed pretty long when we got there. It moved pretty quickly though and we were able to order. The process of grabbing a table needs some improvement and is akin to the food court on a Black Friday. Ha. Also, the food took a while to come out, but when it did, it was was worth the wait! We stopped by Hole in One recently for Sunday brunch on the way home from a fantastic Cape Cod weekend. I came here before and got donuts and cupcakes to-go, but I hadn't eaten in the restaurant. There was a wait as per usual for a Sunday. We were seated in the sun room upstairs, which was pretty hot. One of my friends felt sick because of the temperature! My other friend had to stand up. I wasn't as effected by the heat as two of three of my friends were, but I did notice it prevented me from eating as much as I normally would. I got the Country Breakfast: two eggs any style and two sausage patties on a grilled homemade buttermilk biscuit, topped with "our own" creamy sausage gravy, and served with home fries. Instead of the buttermilk biscuit, I got the bacon scallion cheddar biscuit. I also got a side of Nanny's Potato Pancakes because I wanted to try them. The biscuit was probably one of the best biscuits I've ever had. I was upset I was too full to eat the entire thing. The gravy was also very good (I've had better but it was still good). The home fries were crispy as were the potato pancakes. I wish I substituted the potato pancakes for home fries because it was a little too much food. It was all excellent though. I also got half a dozen donuts: Honey Dipped (glazed), Sour Cream, Raspberry, Cinnamon & some sort of chocolate filled crueller to bring home to my parents. I tried some of the Honey Dipped, Sour Cream and Raspberry. They were excellent! My dad said that he enjoyed all the donuts he had. I would definitely come again (if just for the donuts) even if I was seated in the sun room. Definitely get a bacon scallion cheddar biscuit with gravy. I also want to try out the coffee. Located right on 6A and right off Route 6, Orleans's Hole in One Restaurant was well worth the 30 minute trip from Barnstable. I sat at the bar with my brother for lunch. We both started with the coffee, and I ordered up some chowder. While I could have ordered breakfast, I went with the sandwich special, a grilled ham and cheese on wheat with scallion cream cheese. Sandwiches are served with delicious house-made kettle chips. Service at the bar was fantastic. The restaurant is operated by the same owners as the Fairway Restaurant and Pizzeria and the seasonal Hole in One Donut Shop - both in Eastham. While I was enjoying my lunch, I noticed several locals come in, greeted with a friendly hello and their names. After lunch, I ordered a couple donuts to go. This review is for the sit down brunch. Let's start with the wait. An hour and a half. I get it. Summer on the Cape, there are a lots of tourists everywhere and the wait is going to be long at most places. So we tough it out and wait. It's nice outside, there is outside seating, we are about to get yummy breakfast food...it's not too bad. Now, if the wait had been worth it, that would've been one story, but the food was lackluster, unimpressive, and the service was just ok. The waitress was nice, but we waited 30 minutes for our food....after already waiting an hour and a half. By this time we, we were so delusional from the hunger, we were going crazy. Not to mention the long wait time, 2 of our 5 orders came out wrong. Yummy options for a sit down breakfast as well as counter bakery options. It's a popular choice and there is limited space so get there early. It seems that you can order most things off the menu to go from the bakery counter. I didn't know that the first few times we went there but if you're not feeling a sweet baked good, or breakfast croissant (although they are amazing!), you can order a bagel sandwich. Estimates varied wildly - 45 minutes at the onset, then later told we were next, then told no, there are three parties ahead of you. After we sunk an hour into waiting, we ended up grabbing bagels and iced coffee from the take away counter. Service was nice but hurried and frenetic - maybe we caught them on a particularly busy day but they were very unprepared.
