We ordered chips and salsa and medium buffalo wings to start. The chips had a good crispy texture but the salsa was bland. My husband that the wings were meh. The medium sauce was on the sweeter side. I ordered the meatloaf and got the beef barley soup which was decent. I got the beef barley soup which was pretty good. Nice, warm, and deliciously salty. I loved the family diner atmosphere. The menu was extensive with many comfort food options. My daughter got an omelette and loved it. My meatloaf had a bit too much gravy and I wasn't keen on the taste so I did not ear it. They have great desserts! I think we will come back for breakfast and brunch because their breakfast food menu is extensive and looks delicious.

It's good diner food and sometimes that's all you want. Cozy atmosphere, friendly waitresses, comfort food, cheap prices, and large portions. Price to portion ratio is good. Quality was pretty good. It wasn't overly salty or greasy like a lot of diners. I'd come back again if I'm in the area and the craving strikes me. :) There's nothing quite like flattop scrambled eggs.

    Steak & Eggs!

Hands down my favorite place for steak and eggs. They actually serve you a real steak and not one of those flavorless thin breakfast steaks. I had a rare hiccup last week for the first time in years and the manager called me to apologize and remedy the situation. You cant beat the great service and food here. Thanks Holidays!

It's Friday the 13th and we stopped by Holiday's to grab lunch with friends. We had an excellent experience. I'm upgrading my previous 3-star rating to 4 bright stars based on outstanding service (courteous and efficient) as well as great food quality. I had my usual Taco Salad while others at our table had a pair of sandwiches and an omelette. All of our meals drew positive comments and hit the spot. Holiday's delivered a solid cafe experience on the west side of Tree-town.

Consistently good, hot, traditional breakfast food! Service is decently fast without feeling rushed. A lot of tables, can accommodate large groups. Went on Sat at 10:30. Vestibule had about 15 people waiting but the owner (?) told us 10-15 min and he was spot on! Staff is always friendly. We had Angie today and she got my hubby's and my order correct. Especially when he got the egg white omelette. So many restaurants don't "hear" the egg white part of the order. He was happy! I hade the Homemade Hash and chose eggs over easy. Perfectly cooked, hash was very tender, not chewy. It all came out hot. Decir is nothing fancy, has a homey feel to it. We were in a booth by the window with a bird feeder outside, so it was fun to see the birds bickering for food. Atmosphere is loud and bustling, but didn't bother me. I am from Grand Rapids and l imagine this is a great local breakfast spit with reasonable prices. Been here a few times now and will keep coming back. Well done, Holiday's!

I ordered 24 Turkey dinners for my staff and it was absolutely amazing. Couldn't have been more satisfied with the pick up of the order. The order was ready exactly when they said it would be and all the sides were separated.. the cranberries the gravy etc. The meals were individually wrapped in a container and they were hot and delicious. Everyone loved the meal. Thank you Holiday's!!!!

Veggie burger with cheese and a side of sweet potato wedges with cinnamon/cayenne seasoning. YUM!

We ordered 3 large cheesesteaks, 2 fries, and cheesesteak rolls, plus paid extra for add ons like cherry peppers on the side. Not only did they forget the extras entirely, but the "large" sandwiches were a joke. They used bigger buns and apparently decided that counted as a larger sandwich, because there was definitely not more meat. In fact, the meat barely covered HALF the bread. We literally have to cook extra meat at home just to turn these into actual cheesesteaks. And the cheesesteak rolls? The menu photo shows four halves. What showed up was ONE roll cut in half. That's it. The curly fries were the only thing remotely worth the money. Charging extra for every tiny add on while simultaneously skimping on the actual food (and the addons) is wild. If you're going to charge premium prices, at least put enough meat on the sandwich to justify calling it a cheesesteak.

The taste was excellent and the volume, huge. The bun was warm and fresh. I can't tolerate stale bread. The Beef steak sub with mushrooms and cheese (onions). Had a lot of beef. Almost too much. Maybe a mistake based on what I've been reading. Or that's the norm for here. It's a bit pricey, but it was a pretty big sub. I think we'll be back on our next romp through Ann Arbor. 10/25

So while it was chaotic and overwhelming, the workers would hand you a menu, explain the purchasing process and even give you requested samples! Due to trying a sample of their pretzel, I ended buying a bag. An $8 bag!!! It was perfectly crunchy and buttery and very good! I don't even like pretzels and these impressed me. Also got a $9 bag of only 5 palmier cookies. They were good but definitely a splurge. BF bought a small bottle of balsamic vinegar for $23, like wut?! I eyed a jar of salsa for $28 and jam for $16 but damn, everything was way above even farmer's market prices. The sandwiches start at $18 for a small and go to $24 for a large. BF and I got the chicken avocado on challah bread and a new crunchy pickle. Zingerman's does a good job with their pickles! Skins were a little too hard but I love that they're not overly pickled and still crunchy and not too much other seasoning. For $21, the sandwich was not very big and they don't include chips or fries. If I lived closer, heck yes I would come here pretty often to try a sample and buy a very expensive baked good. I appreciated the very friendly and knowledgeable staff. It was giving Trader Joe's employee energy! Parking was a little tricky but not impossible. We came with locals so they knew what was up.

(I'm thinking of holding my office hours here in the fall, IN PERSON, over real coffee! this coffee is yummmmmmmy) From the moment I walk in the door I am greeted with friendly, knowledgeable staff. Who all know me by my first name! (and I have a difficult Spanish name). They greet me with a smile, never rush me, and take my order all the while answering any questions I might have. Since their menu is always evolving and changing, it's great that they take the time to walk through my options. So they have their standard amazing pizzas (which i first had at the farm) and their shockingly authentic pastries (even better croissants than I have had in Paris). But last week I tried their new breakfast food, and MAN! It was GOOD! the quiche, the omelet....and although I am convinced their chai is the best in Ann Arbor (it's not a premade mix of sugar and chemicals, it's the real deal) ...they now have this new line of matcha, so so good. Sarah and Kat make baristas run for cover, they are that good. And even with all that goodness, I was SHOCKED out of my mind when I had their eggplant sandwich. That thing is fire. FIRE. My family and I are big meat eaters, so when this one hit the scene, we couldn't believe how tasty it was. Even writing this review right now makes me want to go there and eat one. (I'll still keep trying their amazing ever-new menu, but this eggplant sandwich has become a standard) Also, there is this very cute small little market attached where I stop by at the end of the day to pick up freshly made bread for dinner. We love the sesame bread, but geez louise, the baguettes are addictive. Their head baker is INSANELY talented. Remember that scene in Ratatouille when the food critic gets transported to a core memory? That happens to me when I eat that bread. I have purchased goat milk soap there (its handmade by the baker's wife), hot chocolate mix, a kabocha squash, this no sugar added mango puree (which I made a no-sugar added mango torte with). They have these really cool unique products, and it really is a treat to stop by. The place is beautiful, and it is a gem to have such a high quality place to eat on this side of town. The passion that these people have comes through in their food, the products they sell, and the way they treat their community. I love Ann Arbor, and I love this cafe. (okay now i really am going to go and get that eggplant sandwich)

They have a lot of outdoor seating and some firepits, so I really want to come back in the fall or summer. Our food was done quickly and we had fun picking stuff from the toppings bar. They had chopped onions, jalapenos, banana peppers, sauerkraut etc. and lots of sauces. I LOVED the brat. It was easy to bite and not super snappy which I didn't mind. The bun was perfectly toasted and the flavor combination was delicious. Kind of like a broccoli cheddar vibe. I had some of the currywurst which was also delicious! The chili was packed with brisket and pulled pork, and was really tasty. There is a bar so you can enjoy a beer with your sausage, but we just grabbed some cold drinks from the cooler. They even have ice cream and floats!! There are lots of great items for sale as well, including lots of pickled things, frozen pierogi, meat sticks and jerky, and they even have Trenary Toast (#iykyk). I am already planning my next visit to try more brats and the brisket sandwich. This is such a great concept and I really wish we had a place like this in Grand Rapids.
