This is my 2nd trip (first time was years ago) and I joined the waitlist via Yelp. Upon arriving, there's a sign that says wait to be seated in front of the restaurant, however that wasn't the case. After a few minutes of wondering why no one was coming out (even though I made eye contact with one waitress through the glass door), I decided to go in and request a table while showing my reservation. I was seated shortly with my family and it was a breeze from there. Ordered: 1. Corned beef with potatoes and over easy eggs w toast that was buttered 2. Egg Benedict with hash brown 3. Onion rings Corned beef was in chunks as well as the potatoes. Their take is good Egg Benedict was all right, not sure if I it was missing anything as I only had 1 out of the 2. The English muffin was just ok but the hollandaise sauce w as creamy, hash brown was good. Onion rings were tradition but just just right! We moved close by and will give this place another try from something else on the menu next time. Service: Our waitress was very well informed and quick to attend our needs. Atmosphere: Small, chill vibe. Nothing overwhelming nor was it underwhelming. There's an outdoor patio but I did not get a chance to see it. We were comfortable and have no complaints where we were seated and everyone around us. Menu: Good amount of variety and sure to find something for everyone. They also have a selective menu for alcohol too! Parking: A little tight but we were able to park in front of the real estate next to HBC. read more

What a fun place! This place is definitely popular so plan on waiting, there was about a 35 minute wait when we came but it's right on the beach so we didn't mind at all. We sat in the sand with our kids while we waited and the time passed quickly. We had the huevos rancheros, eggs Benedict and kids plate with eggs and sausage. Everything was delicious and our plates were completely empty by the end of our meal. I've got to mention that the breakfast potatoes usually are not the star of the show but here they are! So seasoned, so flavorful, so delicious! Paired with the fun hot sauces provided it was a great meal. The only thing I wasn't a fan of was the boujee mimosa flight, I had thought it would be fresh juice options but instead it came with thick sour concentrates. Just not for me, next time I will order a different drink. They have a full bar so plenty of options to choose from. Love the vibe of this place! They are also dog friendly, which is a plus! I live to say that their breakfast is the best! On the other hand I decided to go for something different a couple weeks ago.. not a good idea:( it's only one time out of half a dozen great breakeys that I've enjoyed.. I got the BLT with the avacado on the side. First off, it literally came with an enormous amount of iceberg lettuce and super over toasted bread which was impossible to bite into , and with a weird sort of sad tasting tomato slice in between with some mediocre bacon that was dry as .. well you know. Swift and delicious service! Fantastic menu items made it hard to choose breakfast. We had a chili Verde omlette abs a vegetable omlette that were really out of this world. Didn't fail me at all We checked in it said 30 minutes but 15 minutes later we got seated. Few minutes after we got our drinks and few minutes we got our orders in. 15-18 minutes got our food and oh men it was on point! The server was great and gave us good recommendations. It definitely a good local spot here and definitely a must visit! Looking forward to visiting soon! read more

We come here as often as we can. Yes, it's small. Yes, it's busy. Yes, the parking is lacking. Yes, it's 100% worth it, every time. The food is always on point, customer service is never lacking. Speed to get food is very good considering the level of business and I could only imagine the small size of the kitchen. We take EVERY visitor we have from our-of-town to eat breakfast there because we know what we're getting. My recommendation: *Tri-Tip and Two Eggs --Eggs how you like them --Sourdough Toast --Hashbrowns --Grilled Tomatoes (the first things I scarf down, and I'm not a tomato guy) --Of course, the tri-tip, which has got to be marinated or seasoned with crack cause it keeps me coming back. 10/10 read more

What a local neighborhood cafe. Non-pretentious and simply a favorite spot for brunch! Service was excellent and food service was so quick. Food selection in the menu is abundant. So good!!! Been coming to HBC since the original Mrs. Olsen's opened. Loved it then, and was a bit worried the food may not be the same when the new owners bought it. I was delighted to see the new owners have done a great job over the years. Everything is fresh and delicious. Love the staff, and so glad I could stay with my favorite tradition of breakfast at the HBC. It's located on Hollywood Beach in Oxnard. read more

Everything was delicious and beautifully presented. I really enjoyed the tacos and chilaquiles! My only suggestion would be to swap the beans that come in the Hangover plate. The dish came with bbq beans, while I think refried, pinto or black beans would have suited the taste better. We also ordered 4 different alcoholic beverages, they were only ok. read more

Hollywood Beach Café is our favorite breakfast place! My husband loves the Dude omelette or the breakfast burrito. I love the eggs Benedict; and the chili Verde omelette. This place was such a great find! My boyfriend and I were heading to Santa Barbara and looking for brunch spots in Oxnard. After seeing some good reviews, we decided to give it a try, and I totally understand why it has such high ratings. The service was fantastic and our server was really attentive. I had an Irish coffee, and honestly, it was probably the best one I've had outside of Ireland. I also ordered the avocado toast, which was delicious, and the pico de gallo on top added a little something to give the toast a different flavor. The tater tots and hash browns were also delish. The inside ambiance was nice, but we sat outside, which was great too. Even though it was a bit chilly, the heat lamps kept us comfortable. We dined her for a date night and found this place on Groupon. When we first entered the building there was a reception desk. A woman was on the phone so we patiently stood at the desk for over 5 minutes. The woman never looked at us or acknowledged us in anyway. We were dressed nicely and excited for a romantic evening. We assumed this was the check in for the tour of the winery. We felt awkward and eventually moved on, opting to not do the tour. We were greeted nicely by a waiter at the restaurant. The food was elegantly presented and delicious. We had the Salmon and Grouper entrees, 2 different salads, the chocolate cake and caramel flan for dessert. Well, we have been coming to HBC every so often for a few years now. Today was an experience that will not have us returning. I do understand the food service business, and I also understand food service management, and some days it goes bad, today was that day for us. 1 hour and twenty minutes with no food after placing our order, we were told after 1 hour that the manager (who never made an appearance to even smooth over the situation) was going to comp a portion of the check, too little, too late. Hollywood Beach Cafe is one of our favorite spots in Oxnard. We bring our doodles there all the time and absolutely love how dog friendly they are. They even have a convenient dog entrance in the back, which makes it so easy after a walk by the beach. The staff is always warm and welcoming to both us and our pups.
