Brought my car to Ryan, knowing it had some issues . He went over the car and told me the things that were wrong . I agreed to have front end work ,belt and thermostat taken care of first . ( over $900 worth of work , for those 3 issues). I had the work done and picked up car. Before I left the lot "Break Wear " light was on . Me, not knowing anything about cars assumed it was a sensor that was knocked off . Ryan responds " oh maybe you need new brakes "? Really , I'm thinking sensor . Didn't he think that would more then likely be the case, given the work that was done ? Yes, it was the sensor . The next day after work I started my car and the battery light was on and steering wheel was locked . I called my ex husband , he came ,opened the hood to find the belt on the floor. I called Ryan he sent a tow truck , but would not take any responsibility until he saw it . Really ? The belt he just replaced was now in my ex husbands hand . Well end result per Ryan ,the reason the belt came off was because it needed a new pulley and tension rod. Should a good mechanic know this before they replace old belt and send you off their lot ? This mistake could of proven fatal if I was driving when belt fell off . But Ryan got his additional $182.49 for his pulley , tension rod and labor. read more

So I took my car to Hondaman after my boyfriend tells me to have it checked because he thinks my wheel bearing is shot. Ryan takes it for a drive and checks it out and as expected, my rear driver's side bearing needed to be changed. He gave me a quote which I thought was fair and he even gave me a discount since I was paying in cash. He worked on my car the whole afternoon and when I went to get my 01 subaru forester, I couldn't believe how smooth it drove and so quiet! I was impressed. Ryan is cool and very friendly. I took my 2012 Honda Civic to Ryan today to get a transmission fluid change because the transmission wasn't shifting as smooth as it used to. I called Ryan beforehand and he gave me a same day appointment. Ryan is a very friendly and knowledgeable guy who knows a lot about Hondas. I really enjoyed meeting and talking to him. His shop was probably the cleanest mechanics shop I have seen in my entire life. The transmission fluid change was seamless, fast and quick! His prices are very reasonable compared to other shops. He is also very honest, the price of the repair was the lower of the possible two prices he quoted me on the phone! No upsell, no gimmicks. Mechanics like Ryan are really hard to find these days. Hondaman is a little far (harder for me to get a ride from/to), so I used a local shop for a routine valves adjustment. The local shop assured me they had a honda guy, he has an older CRV also... Anyway, I'm no expert, but the engine sounded like a loud popcorn machine afterward, and seemed to have lower performance! I finally trusted my instincts, and drove over to ask Hondaman to listen to it. He knew right away it did not sound right for this engine. When I finally got back to them, Ryan made my appmt easy to setup, was very fair in price (especially for his expertise), and corrected valves clearances that were all mixed up (I could do better!) I'd had some serious ongoing issues with my Honda CRV. It would not start intermittently whenever I was on the go. The car wouldn't turn over but the accessories would work. What was going on?? I had a fairly new battery and had had my starter replaced within the year and when i I had it towed a few times to my neighborhood retail auto shop, by the time they looked for the problem, the car was running and "fine". I had a diagnostic check at one of the dealerships - to no avail. So I decided that I needed to find a new mechanic, one who new what they were doing and who had a good reputation. I chose to take my car into Hondaman because of the reviews on Yelp and because I read that although they serviced all vehicles, specific to my dituation,, they knew Honda cars and would use Honda certified parts. Long story short, my car now runs smoother than it's done in years. Ryan quickly determined that it was the STARTER as to which I still had the receipt and an open warranty. But I really needed the reassurance that my money was going to be well spent and more importantly that my car would receive quality care. I asked them to replace the starter, the oil and driver belt. They knew my goal was to not have my car stay overnight and not only did they take care of those services, they discovered that the problem with my wiper fluid tank was that it was blocked, they noticed a wire that didn't belong there. The previous owner had It intertwined under the vehicle so that it could be hooked up and towed about. My car has been serviced many times and this was the first mention of that wire. They have a keen, critical eye for detail and it's not the good ole plant the worry seed in hopes to suck some more money out of someone in distress. They're great at what they do. Even though this is business, I left feeling really good. These are good guys, they treated me with respect and honestly went beyond, in terms of taking care of my vehicle. So I finally found a trustworthy auto repair shop!!! I'm happy to say that I won't need to see Ryan and his partner anytime soon but when the time comes - Hondaman will be my go to. read more
