The BBQ pork was slightly dry but I'm still giving a 5 star because the staff took the time in choosing the pork that was not too burnt and will cut off the charred pork edges. Thick sweet sauce with a nice crunch. Some pieces had a bit more breading than I would like but most were just right. The teriyaki was juicy. Think of Panda but they give you 3X more.. that's Hong Kong Express! The amount of food you get for an affordable price is just ridiculous - around $12 and it feeds me for 3-4 meals. Just because of the value this place is worth the visit to me! But I do want to note that the quality/taste of the food is not as flavorful as Panda. The orange chicken is decent but perhaps the sauce isn't as on par to Panda. Also the orange chicken isn't the best as leftovers the next day tbh. Small, ~$6.99, Medium $10, Large ~$20) On to the food... everything is on a steam table under heat lamps so it is best to pick things with a glaze on them: chicken with mushrooms, beef with broccoli, pepper chicken, kung Pao chicken, etc. My personal favorite is the mushroom chicken, very tasty! The grilled items are very good too (BBQ ribs and grilled chicken)... *IF* you get them when they are just made. Unfortunately, the heat lamps don't do them any favors, they dry them out quickly. I don't know if we just got unlucky or what, but we didn't have the 5 star experience. We came on a weeknight and it was PACKED. Probably over 30 people in line. People had to wait inside for the food to finish cooking. The wait wasn't the problem. It was that they were going to charge me $18+ for 2 bowls, the $5 tax didn't make sense. Also they kicked out my service animal right before I was going to order. They could have told me they refuse service animals while I was in line. Plus it's illegal to refuse service animals that do not pose a threat to others. We were even carrying it too. Also the food didn't wow us. I ended up buying a 1 item combo and they gave me a small box for it? I hope to try again because other yelpers pictures look amazing and I hope to get decent service when there. read more
