Where do I start? The food amount was sufficient for its price. We ordered grilled mahi-mahi and grilled swordfish, which came with rice and salad (per our preference). The food was bland but it's ok, we asked for salt and pepper so we could season it ourselves. It was dinner time and my wife so my wife and I were extended hungry. When the food came, despite it being bland, we managed to make it work by adding seasonings ourselves, besides, we are not hard to please. However, when I was nearly done with my food, my food was 3/4 cleared, I noticed that my swordfish was not cooked. it was seared from top to bottom only. it was hard to tell, being that it was doused in white sauce and the fish was frozen. When I brought it to the cashier's attention, she said the the fish is normally cooked 90% through and mine definitely did not look that way, that my fish was only cooked 20%. Then I asked her to show the fish to the owner so she took my entire plate and showed it to the owner. The cashier came back and apologized but I said it was fine, just be mindful about it moving forward. Lastly, I asked for my food back because I at least wanted to finish the remaining 1/4 but the cashier said she already threw my food away! I took advantage and ordered off of the HH menu (well mostly) and I was feeling like some fish tacos! I ordered salmon, mahi mahi, crispy fish and shrimp. Of the 4, mahi mahi was at the end of my list. The salmon was probably the best; crisp, moist and oh so yummy! Its the healthier option compared to crispy fish. My boyfriend and I called in for a take out order and I spoke to a very unenthusiastic, borderline ride employee on the phone. However once we arrived we noticed how busy they were and were able to overlook and even understand why the employee didn't have the greatest attitude. Anyway, my complaint isn't about the service - but the food. My boyfriend got the mahi mahi pasta and his fish was extremely rubbery. Against his better judgment, he finished the meal... Unfortunately, he was up all night with stomach pains, running in and out of the bathroom. He's still feeling unwell, and my stomach feels a bit tender too. As much as we eat out, food poisoning hasn't been an issue for us until now. The place seems clean, however please teach your employees better food safety skills. Most importantly, For take outs, they some times pour the food in food containers with no paper layer placed between the food and the tray. Hook'd is a solid, no frills, and inexpensive option when you need a quick fix of good quality seafood. They offer a variety of wild and farm-raised fish, prepared in a few different ways to satisfy different palates. I posted pictures of their menu and you can see that it is fairly diverse for a fast food seafood joint. Prices are reasonable and food quality and taste are very good. I usually order the MahiMahi or the Trout, grilled, with either the Garlic Butter or the Cajun sauce. Both sauces are tasty and work out really well when you order rice as one of your two sides. The rice soaks up the sauce and creates a nice blend. The food quality is consistently high and I have not encountered any issues or surprises. They do not serve any alcohol, so you are pretty much limited to water and soft drinks. Service is polite, friendly, and to the point. This is one of those setups whether you order at the counter and they deliver to your table and clean up for you after you're done. This specific location is in a busy shipping center and parking can be a challenge at times. I visit this restaurant regularly and will definitely go back! read more
