It was just okay. They give you a nice big piece of fish which I was surprised about. The fish itself (red snapper) was over cooked and tasteless. It looked really pretty on the plate and smelled good but the flavor was nonexistent. Not worth $11. They give you A LOT of rice and coleslaw(does anyone actually like coleslaw) on the plate. Its a cozy place, very relaxed. I ordered grilled cajun-spiced mahi-mahi with rice and a side of salad. Price was reasonable. Fish was nicely grilled, seasoned well but I didn't tasted the cajun spice that much. They do have condiments that you can add on for more kick. But overall, its a good place for seafood. read more

This place is a pretty solid fast casual fish grill restaurant. Came here on a whim with family on a random weekday afternoon. No other customers but us. We were immediately greeted and the person brought us some menus. You then order at the register and they bring you your food. I like that they have happy hour specials. We ordered crispy calamari and it was tasty and freshly fried. I just wish they had a bigger serving of it. I ordered the Garlic Butter Mahi-Mahi Plate with rice and salad. I'm a fan of the Garlic Butter but next time I think I'll try the Cajun! Mmmm. They have a condiments bar which includes salsa, tartar sauce, and cocktail sauce. The salsa perfectly complemented the Garlic Butter Mahi-Mahi which I loved. My little nephew had the Kids Pasta. Chose the Alfredo Pasta for him and it was great. They mistakenly served us a calamari and we weren't sure if the person with us ordered it who stepped out so we let it sit at our table for a few minutes. When he returned we confirmed he didn't order it so we brought it back up and then they immediately brought it to another table. Delicious & fresh sea food every time. I usually get the salmon plate or wrap and love it every time. One of the few restaurants in the area where I can eat a nice sized meal for a decent price and feel fantastic after. Nice and simple restaurant ambiance as well. I would give it 5 stars, but the prep time and seating makes it 4 stars. I love that everything comes out fresh, that's probably why it takes awhile (30-40 mins). Tried Hook'd for the first time and I must say it was very good! I live in the area and have always driven past but never went in... really glad I decided to give it a try. Casual dining with a clean atmosphere and great fish plates. I had the red snapper with garlic butter, rice and coleslaw which tasted fresh & seasoned just right. Portions are decent too. The cashier told us way later after we ordered and day down waiting for our food that the Cajun style ahi tuna was out. He shouldn't known before we ordered that. Then, he told us to choose a replacement, and we chose the jumbo shrimp after after asking how many shrimp came with the meal and he said 8 pieces. When we got it, it only came with 7 pieces. I wanted to eat his food because it was so delicious but mine was amazing too, so I had to quickly get over the fact that I didn't order the salmon. Seems a bit pricey for what you get. The food wasn't bad, but I think you get filled up on the fries more than on the fish and shrimp. So my shift at work doesn't give me many options to dine out or grab some food on the go after which is 830pm. Tonight a few of my colleagues and I wanted to grab something fresh, tasty and different. I am on my phone during breaks looking for something and Hook'd appeared on my searches. They do deliver and have pickup. The last pick up is 845pm. So, we were kind of saddened. However as I drove from Woodland Hills and reached to Northridge by 9pm, I gave a rang. They were able to accomodate me. I decide to order shrimp penne (pasta), tilapia pasta, and pasta with marinara sauce. Thus the other 2 orders were with alfredo. Hence, I did not tell my colleagues where this food came from. We dined at my house with some awesome red and white wine. I separated the fish and pasta in different bowls and we all grabbed bites from each. Amazing. The Alfredo is just amazing. The shrimp wishing it was a bit bigger and no tail. But that is ok. The only thing missing is Garlic Bread and some Sweet tea. Will be back to taste the other dishes. Think about garlic bread.. maybe?? how about some sweet beverages or even adult beverages. Not bad. My cousin picked this place after a good MTB ride out in Simi. He got the Grilled Shrimp Pasta and I got the Fish and Chips. For the starter we tried the Shrimp Cocktail. All were pretty fresh and tasty. Needless to say our plates were cleaned. The only complaint is that the fries are just run of the mill (maybe a little cajun seasoning). Had the salmon here the other night for dinner and was pleased with what I got. I ordered it with garlic butter, and my dining partner chose the seasoned tilapia. The fish is fresh and well prepared, and comes with rice that is solidly good, and a salad that is very fresh. The portion sizes are reasonable, not huge, and the food is pretty healthy and fairly priced. I think this is a great option for a good dinner that fits the bill for flavor, calorie count and portion size. Service was also good. This is not a "fine dining" establishment so I wouldn't come in with those expectations, but it is definitely better than most, if not all, the quick fish food restaurants I've tried.
