What happened here was nothing short of mystical. My friend and I share one hookah. It lasted for 3+ hours. After about 1 hour we were both so relaxed our speech had slowed and our concentration had increased by about 90%. After about 2 hours, we were baffled at how the music videos from Lebanon and Egypt on the TV magically aligned with the restaurant's hip-hop soundtrack. We even tried to film it. By the 3rd hour I think we were different people---better, more spiritual, perhaps even full of wisdom-- you know, it's hard to say. But, I have to recommend it. I have been here twice and will not be going back. The second time was the straw that broke the camel's back. The staff was rude and not attentive. They tried selling us on the most expensive hookah, but we wanted something more simple. When it came out, it pulled very poorly and when we asked our waiter to change the coal he had to call someone else over and that person did so very grudgingly. read more

Have gone here a few times with no complaints, an average hookah bar. Then Tuesday came and had a good time with some friends and then bill came. They always charge automatic gratuity (which shouldn't happen with a party less than 6) but that's not the problem. They charged an EXTRA $10 on my credit card tip when I did not leave extra!! Service was TERRIBLE. We waited over 40 minutes to get our hookah, while those that came after us got theirs soon after they arrived. We asked a couple of times about our hookah & all they kept saying was "it's coming, it's coming". We finally decided to just cancel the hookah order and leave. A few minutes after we canceled the order they brought out the hookah. Once we told the guy we canceled the order he looked pissed. Our bill came w/ the hookah charged (which they should have taken off before ringing up the final bill), but obvs we didn't pay for that portion. Love this place - and props to Ziza. He's so nice. This is one of the "nicest" hookah/shisha places in midtown. Definitely good for taking out of town guests. Good vibe, good music, nice decor. Reason I didn't give 5 stars is because the hookah is unbelievably expensive! You have to buy the fruit-head because they don't have the regular hookah. For this reason, you always want to go with a friend so you can split the cost. The first time I went, I paid $90 for 1 hookah, 1 order of humus and 1 cocktail (including tax & tip). Dig deep! When I went back and ordered the least expensive hookah, $40+ (cheapest hookah is $35, then add tax and tip). Way way too much guys! If you're a regular smoker, go to La Kasbah for $15. Random after-work night in the city, my friend was visiting from out of town and was just getting in, wanted to do something laid back, being that there arent too many hookah lounges in the midtown area, we decided to give it a try as it came up as one of the closer hookah places in the area.. Went inside, were seated promptly, ordered a hookah, ordered some appetizers and kabab entrees..the appetizer plate came out right away, the food was straight out of the freezer, disgusting, couldnt even take a bite on the falafal as it was very stale, nothing in the plate was fresh..the entree's were also very bland, small quantity..the meat did not taste too fresh and seemed a little processed but was still more bearable than the appetizers. The hummus was clearly the Sabra supermarket hummus. The hookah was okay, we had to keep asking for the coal to be changed, the manager who seemed to be the owner/chef/manager/bartender/coal guy all-in-one.. was a little clueless about EVERYTHING barely spoke english and didnt understand much and was a little rude when I complained about the food. Service was WAY too slow esp considering there was only one other party there at the time. All in all, the place def is not the greatest or even close to it, very small and claustrophobic, seating is horrible, you feel like you're sitting on the same table as the people next to you. Terrible. 1. 30 bucks for hookah? Um you can find ten other places in the city that have ten dollar hookah. 2. The staff was extremely rude. We asked for a one flavor hookah and the guy said "no you can only order the fresh fruit one" because we had four people with us. Even though we told him only two of us were smoking. He really didn't give a shit. Throughout the whole night he barely came to our table. When we asked him to replace the coal, it took him like half an hour to do so. There are only four tables in the place, he wasn't that busy!! 3. He told us that we would all get one drink included with the hookah price. What did he do? He charged us for the drinks!! Absolutely awful experience, and it seems I'm not alone in my thinking. The waitress got my drink order wrong, and when I nicely told one of the other servers that it was wrong but that I would still drink it, he snatched it and walked away, only to bring me back a completely watered down version of what might have been a Bay Breeze at one point. I took 2 sips and eventually politely told the same waiter that he had brought me a watered down drink. His reacted by blaming me for not telling him sooner. Another man, who I assume to be the manager, apologized and made me another drink that I did not order or drink, but after being stared at and laughed at by the staff hiding behind the bar, I didn't feel like accepting anything this establishment offered me. read more

I got up to go to the restroom, asked a group of 3 employees where the restroom was, one of them said he didn't speak English, so I said sorry and the other employee pointed to the restroom and the three of them began to laugh at me. Even when I got to the bathroom they were still laughing. After that I saw that same employee speaking to other customers in English. I'm actually Brazilian, so I am bilingual, but I felt disrespected. Absolutely hate when people make fun of me. Since then that same employee keeps looking at me and laughing. Went here the other night with a group of 5 and had a good time! The place was long and small but they did their best to accommodate the 5th member of our group when they showed up later than us. The music was good, a lot of new hip hop and a few throwbacks. They offer pitchers of mixed drinks for $55 and the hookah was $30+service charges. We had a pitcher of long island iced tea that was pretty strong but as the ice melted it diluted it. Would probably stick to a pitcher of beer next time ($40). Disclaimer: this review was only going to be 1 star until we finally received our food. We ordered the hummus, tabouleh, falafel, vegetables, and grape leaves. Not a huge order, considering it was all appetizers. Our delivery was estimated between 11:50am-12:00pm...we did not receive our food until 1:15pm. After calling multiple times and being reassured each time "it was on its way", and the tardiness was due to "network issues". I tried to call and cancel the order and was forced to leave voicemails that were ignored- forcing us to pay over $60 for food that was cold and clearly not fresh. I'm appalled at the service. We were staying at a well known hotel that was about a 5-7 minute walk away. Horrible costumer service, delivery, and ridiculous to have a $30 minimum when they can't guarantee that you will even receive your food. Don't waste your time or money, there are plenty of other establishments that can actually deliver food in a timely manner. read more
