Fast service, employees are always friendly. Best bagels in the county and they are open early which is great for those 6am dog walks

French toast bagel with French toast cream cheese was good, but $6.65 for a bagel is crazyyyyyyy I know this is an extremely short review but that's all there is to say lol

Taylor Ham, Egg, and Cheese on an Everything Bagel
    Danielle R.

I came on a Sunday morning and it was pretty busy, even though it was snowing. They have a lot of workers so the line moves fast, so I would recommend knowing what you want before you get in line. There are tables to dine in, but I noticed a lot of people were just getting takeout. Parking is on the street but there are plenty of spaces. I got a Taylor ham, egg, and cheese on an everything bagel. It was good, but nothing special. I wish the bagel was toasted more, there was hardly a crust on it. My Taylor ham was also burnt. However, they did cook the eggs perfectly and I like how they put a slice of cheese on both sides of the bagel. They also load it up with ketchup which I didn't mind, but if you're not a fan keep that in mind.

Hands down our absolute favorite bagel shop! We used to live in the are, but moved about 24 years ago and still anytime we are in the are we head to Hot Bagels Abroad. Other states don't have a clue how to make bagels and honestly, I think people in the NY/NJ area take their amazing bagels for granted! On this trip we had a plain bagel with olive cream cheese. Olive is hands down my favorite. Though I do miss the roasted red pepper. My husbands to is always the TH, egg and cheese on everything. My son gets a plain with butter and my daughters go to is the French toast bagel. The crunch of the bagel crust and the softness of the inside of the bagel is my favorite part! Store was hopping this weekend, but always clean, has a nice menu display and great workers!

A fucked up $33 bagel sandwiches

Paid $33 for 2 bagel sandwiches and 2 coffees. I got my sandwich with the wrong bagel and they forgot the ketchup. The cheese wasn't even melted

Great bagel spot! Fresh and made on the premises . The young lady at the register was sooo nice and wore a bright smile to each customer and it was pretty crowded! Bagels were how I like them firm on the outside a bit and nice and chewy in the inside! They toasted it very nice and didn't overdo the butter and jelly like most places. The scallion cream cheese was also tasty as well. Nestled in my fav Brookdake section of Bloomfield! Will def be back!

SOOO GOOD. I've had the everything bagel with veggie cream cheese and the french toast bagel with plain cream cheese. Both were toasted, I'm no amateur bagel eater. Amazing. AH MAZE ING. The size the bagels were huge, I love the amount of cream cheese on the bagel too. Nicely toasted that the cream cheese wasn't too melted. Beautiful bagel, beautiful time, and eaten by a beautiful girl.

Everything bagel w scallion cream cheese
    Priya R.

Came in on Saturday morning, great environment. They were pretty busy so clearly people like their bagels! I got an everything bagel w scallion cream cheese. While I think the texture was good, for me it was a little lacking in taste-both the cream cheese and the bagel itself. Especially because the garlic on the everything was pretty burnt so that flavor was really sticking out. I probably won't come back but I can see how some might like it!

I loooooooove a good bagel spot. Man I really do. I honestly have no idea why I haven't tried this place sooner. The staff is very quick, friendly & attentive. The little details matter and the shows! I placed my order for pickup (my first time having lox so I was a little indecisive on the phone) and the young lady was very patient and super kind. I walk in, huge line, staff is getting things done quickly.. which I loved. Like everyone was doing something to help someone it was so nice to see. It's my turn, the man who helped was super kind & personable. Made great suggestions to me for juices. The whole experience was awesome. Now the food: Perfect amount of lox!! So many people are cheap with stuff. Scallion cream cheese was a perfect compliment to it & the bagel itself was amazing... can't wait to try a traditional bacon egg & cheese next time. This place I would totally recommend, it fixed up my rainy Sunday morning. Everyone was pleasant, the food was perfect. I'm glad I tried a new bagel spot today. I loved it all, thank you!

Whole Wheat Everything Bagel with Tofu Vegetable Cream Cheese.

I was in the area yesterday morning & I took a chance and yelp searched vegan cream cheese & lo' & behold Hot Bagels Abroad popped up! I was so pleased to see that there were MULTIPLE vegan tofu cream cheese options. I used to live in NYC where I was spoiled by the vegan tofu bagel options. NJ has been a bit behind and I have yet to find a place to accompany my vegan tofu cream cheese needs. I ordered the whole wheat everything bagel with tofu veggie cream cheese. They also had olive tofu cream cheese and 2-3 other options, but I stopped looking after I saw veggie cream cheese bcuz home is where the heart is. Ok fine, I lied, I ordered two bagels! Listen one for the ride home and one for later. Had to take advantage of this lovely surprise! Also, the gentleman who made my bagel was friendly. I'll be back!! *I'm updating it and taking just a half star off - if I could - just because the bagel was a bit denser than I'd like it to be. I like my bagels on the fluffy side.* still delicious!

Larry was very accommodating, and helped compose a vegan dish from the setup of another dish. He was considerate to recommend something that would feel "substantial" - something that I really appreciated. It's already a bit inconvenient to come up with a dish on the spot, but to go the extra mile by caring that it would be satisfying as a main dish was really very kind. And it turned out fantastic. This restaurant has so much going for it in the quality of its ingredients and dish compositions. I would encourage the chef to consider how the can apply their creativity to a dedicated vegan dish as well. There's a big world to explore in creating modern, high end, plant-based dishes and I think this restaurant would hit it out of the park ! :)

This one pound mozzarella stick definitely fulfilled that criteria. It was so gigantic it was almost like getting a workout in just to lift it. The outside was heavily breaded with bread crumbs and the top was sprinkled with parmesan cheese and chopped scallions. Even the dipping cup was supersized to accommodate the diameter of the stick! Typically, I would have posted until after my I finished my oversized food compilation project. However, it's being posted early because The Brookdale is permanently closing its doors. It's cozy, genuine, and the kind of place where you can tell there's a lot of love going into what comes out of the kitchen. And speaking of that kitchen--you can see it from pretty much every seat in the house. Watching several cooks navigate what looks like an incredibly tiny space is almost mesmerizing. Somehow, they move around each other seamlessly, and the best part? The food comes out FAST. My wife went with the hummus, and it was creamy, flavorful, and delicious. But the surprise star on the side was the salted dried kale chip--such a simple little addition, but ridiculously good. Then came my pancakes. Out of this world. Small in diameter, but super thick, with a beautifully crispy exterior giving way to an interior that was fluffy, light, and airy. I've tried making this style of pancake at home countless times, and I still have absolutely no idea how to get that texture. The syrup and berries were the perfect finishing touches. Everything just worked. I've made and had soooo many pancakes in my life, and this is easily top 3 best.
