Went inside to ask what happened since we waited and the order was confirmed. I believe that they canceled it because they have too many orders going on. There was people inside waiting for an hour one of the guys said. I'd rather have had my order canceled right away instead of waiting all that time when I could have gone elsewhere. Nothing has changed since we were here last well over a year ago. First, I have to say, don't make any judgements based on the location or the ambiance before you try the food here. Maybe not the best location, but a thriving business, and for good reason. There is a small dining room with one TV. Today, it was not too comfortable temperature-wise (it was warm outside, and it was warm warm inside). Three ceiling fans going did not make a hellava difference. Three small tables outside on the sidewalk, with a rocking view of a service station next door. So now you know why I decided it was probably wise to order to-go today. He always looks stressed out, still grumpy. I'd be grumpy too if it was that hot inside. I don't know, he looked like he was definitely trying to quell some of that negativism. The hot link came in a hot dog bun so it was pretty good as a sandwich with sauce on top but the hot link itself was a little dry. The ribs were good and big, doused in BBQ sauce. All of the meat tasted fresh and homemade like something you would have at a real barbecue. The yams were nice and sweet. The mac and cheese was good, better than any you'd get at a fast food place but not the best I've had. For dessert, we had the homemade banana pudding! So so good and definitely the perfect ending to our meal :) not too sweet but just right... You do usually have to wait a while for your food, expect 20 minutes maybe even 30 minutes wait on average. Often times you'll get put on hold and hung up on, then when you get through you'll be told some unrealistic wait time like 30 min but really it won't be ready for an hour +. I've worked in food service most of my adult life. Just a word of advice to the staff, management in particular: If the order typically takes 20 minutes to make don't give your customers a wait time of 20 minutes if the kitchen is behind. Add another 15-20 minutes to those 20 minutes. If it takes any longer than that, sorry but you need a new kitchen staff. Last night I was told my food was going to take 25-30 minutes (conveniently, after we already paid). Placed my order at 9:15. Went back in to check on my order at 9:45. Still not ready and they gave me an estimate of 8 minutes. I got one of the combos with 2 ribs, 6 wings, and a hotlink with the two sides. The order looked right until I was on the road. Was missing the hotlink which is one of the only reasons I got the plate. They don't let you substitute the ribs, which are dry and tough, but I really wanted wings and a hotlink and figured I'd give the ribs to my husband. If you're going to have your customers wait that long for food, double and triple check the orders. Completely unacceptable. As far as the quality of the food, it's fine. Definitely not a fine dining experience. Food is heavily seasoned and yams have WAY too much sugar, but I like to go on cheat days. I don't think I'll be coming back though. Worst customer service I've ever dealt with in my life. Placed a order on Yelp for pick up, which was confirmed! Show up at the restaurant at the appointed time to be I told my order was canceled and they are only filling large catering orders due to SuperBowl. They then ignored me when I asked for some kind of confirmation my order had been canceled, since Yelp showed it confirmed and bank account showed I'd been charged. The girl tried to lie to me and said she would contact Yelp. Since I dont live in the area and wouldn't be able to come back easily, I called Yelp immediately. Yelp saw everything was confirmed from their side, no cancelation. Yelp said they'd have to call the store to figure out what was going on. Yelp called and called and called, no answer. Luckily I hadn't left the area yet because I had to go in and literally tell them to answer their phone so I could get my refund done. Again ignored and had to call their attention several times to get any help. Finally had to hand one of the guys my phone to speak with Yelp customer service to get my refund resolved. To his credit, it was at this point we were offered an opportunity to order something since we'd spent nearly an hour waiting, ignored, waiting again, then finally helped. Obviously we had placed a new order at Epic Wings by this time and declined the opportunity to wait another hour or two with the other customers who were still waiting for orders they had placed up to a week in advance, but weren't ready as promised. Unfortunately never got to actually try the wings and doubt I'd try to go through any of that again.
