Every time I've gone here and the food was very SUB PAR. They always run out of food and they've lost their minds with the price increase. They charge $1 to substitute each side which they don't tell you and the food is always COLD !!! I called in my order the girl said 15 minutes and it took 40 ! By the time I got my food it was cold. Which means it was just sitting in the back. If the staff members would get off Snapchat twerking in the kitchen maybe I'd get some warm food. If I could give this place no stars, I would.... there were people that waited an hour for their food, (quoted 20 min) and then had things missing and girl behind the counter had the nerve to give attitude when the customer asked for their money back when they didn't get the side order because they didn't want to wait for it (I wouldn't of either) and there is a sign posted that they give no refunds if you LEAVE, they didn't leave and she still refused a refund and made them wait. It has been several years since we came here for wings. They always had the best around but will NEVER go back again. I would have given a negative star if possible. First of all . . . Where is the menu? There are 4 TV's placed about 10 inches apart where you would think the menu should be and they all were on the same basketball game. When I asked to see a menu the girl gave me a look, grabbed a dirty laminated copy out of the basket and tossed it to me then disappeared into the back. About 5 minutes later she came out with a bald guy and they proceeded to talk while ignoring me standing there ready to order. Unfortunatly, it only gets worse from here. He finally took my order while juggling phone orders. He was telling everyone on the phone that their wing order would be ready in 25 minutes. I would have assunmed that my wings would take just as long. After 45 minutes passed and EVERYONE that called in had come and gone, Everyone else that came and placed an order had received their food and left. I was still standing there. At the1 hour mark he finally appeared from the kitchen with my wings and said he wanted to make sure the order was right. When I commented on the amount of time I waited he sarcastically said, "Well someone had to be last". I still cannot believe that someone would be that incredibly rude to any customer. This establishment caters to its regular customers and most of them are black. Forget about southern hospitality here folks. In this economy I would think new business would be appreciated by all businesses but I guess not this one. Food was mediocre. I got the chicken, shrimp and fish meal. With a side of mac n cheese. The mac n cheese tasted like they used sandwich cheese. The consistency and texture was meh at best. The fish in the meal smelled like it wasn't cleaned. And to top it all off, I called in my order bc it was going to take me 15mins to get there. When I get there to pick up my order. The gentleman behind the counter was friendly. The prices were decent and I wanted to order everything! It was almost midnight and me and my daughter decided to go to Hotlanta. We stopped in and ordered. I wanted the 10 piece lemon pepper meal with yams macaroni and cheese a side of greens and a piece of cornbread. My daughter ordered the tilapia with catfish nuggets and two sides of yams. We ordered food at 1159 to be exact. Within 15 minutes the food was done. Good thing we checked it. The yams were not even done. So my daughter and I walked back inside and the girl at the front (maria) said that there was no supervisor there at the time and there was nothing that she could do. OK understandable. But someone needs to be in charge if any business is open. So I left unhappy. Now mind you that I drove all the way from San Bernardino. So when I got home and tried my chicken I noticed that the chicken wasn't fried all the way through. Ugh?!?! So I called Hotlanta to let maria know that also. She told me like she told me before there is nothing that she can do and she doesn't know what Felipe is going to do to compensate me. The nerve!!! First off you are not the supervisor and it is not for you to tell me what the supervisor will do for me. So I let her know that too. I would first like to say that I have been coming to hotlanta for about five years and I recently noticed a decline in the service and the food quality. I ordered my food over the phone and went there for a pick-up. I ordered the catfish and wings combo with Mac and cheese and yams. I arrived around 1130 and the place closes at 2 am so I wasn't expecting low quality food seeing that there was 2.5 hours to close. I walked in and it seemed really dark and sloppy behind the counter. I waited a couple of mins and a cashier came out. I noticed he had food on his face like I interrupted his meal. I wasn't able to use a credit card so cash was the only option. I received my food and the order was wrong. I got greens and yams. I turned around to let the cashier know and he was gone in the back. I stood there waiting in a empty lobby for 5 mins. I waived, opened and closed the door and nothing. I wanted to go behind the counter and knock on the door. Finally the cashier came out and gave me a bit size side of Mac and Cheese. The portion size of the sides were next to nothing. I literally took two fork full's of yams and it was gone. I wasn't impressed with the food flavor either.The catfish was hard and over cooked and the wings were greasy. I think this will be my last time I'm going to Hotlanta. I'm from Phoenix Arizona, I visit California quite often. My niece brought me here back in 2015/2016 because I am a wing lover. Let me say EVERY single time I come to California I make a special effort to make it to Hotlanta! The wings are AMAZING!!! This morning was my most recent visit, brought my mother here for the first time also. Upon arrival we were greeted by a young brunette girl with glasses(didn't catch her name unfortunately) not only did she go above and beyond to be hella polite, she walked my mother through the menu, made sure our order was made as soon as we ordered and gave us extra ranch and hot sauce at no additional charge. Making our experience even better! We ordered the 15piece wing and fries and shrimp and mac an cheese on the side. I love all flats and it's NEVER an issue for the team to make that happen. This was my first time trying the shrimp, the batter was seasoned to perfection and the size of the shrimp is worth paying for! My mother said she'll definitely be back as well. Pretty good food but the service is horrible! I've been there a few times and if it weren't for the service, I'd rate them a four. This is not a place to go to if you are hungry. If you are already hungry, it's too late. Go elsewhere or you will find yourself on Yelp complaining..as you kill time waiting for the food. But if you plan ahead, and have time to kill, you'll enjoy the ribs and cat fish and just about everything else on the menu. But, back to service, make sure that you ask for the tarter sauce if you order the cat fish. Although I would think that common sense would tell them that their customers would want it, you have to ask. For instance, today my wife drove a little ways to get there. Waited the usual "eternity" waiting period for the cat fish. Drove home only to realize that she didn't have any tarter sauce. When she called to inform them, their reply was that you have to ask it when you order the cat fish. That's just stupid in my opinion. Omg!!! I had the worst experience with this place today. We waited over an 1 1/2 hrs for our food. I can't lie the food was good but cold even after we waited the 1 1/2 hrs. There was an employee that was giving her friends great service and quite a few people was saying she was giving them free food, hay it's their place so I guess you can do what ever you want, however not in front of paying customers. I'll start with the good: Their Mac n Cheese is so dank. Grade A ,Premium, Top Shelf Mac n Cheese. Never had Restaurant Mac that even compared. Only my momma back in Nashville can top them. If you stop in, get a $5 pint and you will be pleased. That's where the good stops. The bad: they always have a help wanted sign out front and I can understand why service is so slow there. Soooooo sloooooow. On top of that they stay pretty busy so you could easily wait 25 min for 1 side dish. (Which I guarantee was made earlier in the day, and all they had to do was scoop it in a serving container. Their cashiers pick and choose who they will be courteous to. I absolutely love coleslaw but theirs tastes like a they just dumped a jar of mayo on some shredded cabbage. Their ribs are very expensive especially considering they are like short ribs (very very cheap cut of meat) not typical baby back ribs, and 3 of the 6 ribs I got were literally nothing but fat and bone. Also the owners are from the Northeast not the southeast and it shows in their cooking.. I lived in Atlanta Tallahassee and Nashville and am positive that is not Southern cooking. I try to support small and black owned businesses as much as I can but sometimes we need to do better when catering to the community especially when your in demand. I came to this restaurant on the recommendation of my little sister who is a "Wing Connoisseur." I ordered the red snapper and shrimp plate on my first visit with greens and mac n cheese. The food is great! I mean REALLY good, there were two problems for which I gave them three stars. I had to wait 30 minutes just to get my order and the sides were about a spoonful each. I can understand things are made to order but 30 minutes is just really ridiculous; especially when you only have two people waiting ahead. Also, people pay for a service or item don't cheat them out of their hard earned money when their helping you out in the long run. Overall, I would come back here for the fish, shrimp, and sides but I'll call ahead because each time out of the three times I've came I waited 30 minutes or more just to receive my order. The best wings EVER!!! The flavor is spot on and the wings are the size it should be. We stay traditional with the hot buffalo sauce. Be sure to get the yams as one of the sides, they are amazing! The 15-piece lunch special that comes with Fries is a tasty value for $ 7.99. The same deal at wings and things will cost you $15.00 and the food is inferior.
