Beat expectations. Went with family kids 7, 9, 10. Kids all had burgers adults had meatloaf and fish tacos. Meals were enjoyed by all. Initial wait was long, however table service was prompt and efficient. I expected mediocre chain food, atmosphere and service. We walked in and were seated immediately. Everyone is friendly and very nice. The appetizers were amazing (we got the calamari and the pot stickers). One son got a burger that he loved and the other got the loaded potato soup which was quite tasty. My husband and I got steaks. Completely unseasoned steaks. Not even salt or pepper. The side dishes (including the garlic green beans) had no flavor. I would go back, but I would ask for seasoned food. Also, service was really slow, so only go if you have the time. read more

I have been to Houlihans now 3 X and the meal is always excellent. twice I had the scallops and once I had a salad. Everyone at my table enjoyed their food, MY one complaint is the wait for a table, they do not take reservations, OR offer call ahead seating so you may end up sitting a long time before a table opens up depending on when you are able to get there. All in all, I'll go back because the food is good but not when I have any kind of time restraint. read more

We were very disappointed in Houlihan's take out. We ordered for a 7pm pickup. We arrived 20 minutes early to ensure the food would be hot. As soon as we got into the car we popped open the calamari to enjoy on the way home. It had a wonderful flavor but it was ice cold It's a 5 minute drive home. I only had a bowl of baked potato soup from here, but it was delicious! Nice size chunks of potatoes, creamy, very good flavor. The food is pretty good. But because of COVID the menu is very limited as for gluten free options. They are discriminating against us who do not eat gluten. Went on a busy Friday night after doing Hersheypark all day. We were in town for my son's 10th birthday so we were looking for a nice, but kid friendly place to eat. Parking in a parking garage was a bit of a nightmare but it was free so meh...it was what it was. When we got in, the wait was 20 minutes so we gave our phone number and then got a text that said 30 minutes. Hmmmm communication....grrrr So we needed a drinkypoo. We had been with our kids and surrounded by kids for days and omg...where is the bar? So I went to the bar to get me and the hubs a drink while we waited! It took so long at the bar that by the time I got back with our drinks, the table was ready. Our waitress was great, but it being a busy Friday we'd go quite awhile between visits and needing her some things. She did pick up on the hint that it was our son's birthday and she brought him an ice cream with a candle. Kudos! My family and I have been coming here ever since they opened in Hershey. Tonight we were appalled at how dirty the restaurant was inside. Empty glasses and dirty dishes never removed, bar top was filthy! Very inattentive staff. Employees were more interested in the sports games on the overhead tv's than cleaning or checking on their assigned tables. We witnessed an employee on his cell phone and just poor management overall. Very disappointed!! read more

Houlihan's is in the heart of downtown Hershey near the park. If you are staying in town or visiting the park and looking for a place to eat dinner this is an excellent option. I was home for Thanksgiving break so my family and I decided to stop here to eat. We have been to Houlihan's several times but first time reviewing them. First off do not be intimidated by the parking lot if it is full, there is a garage to park in. There are several businesses that share that lot. If you are getting an appetizer YOU MUST get the spicy chicken avocado eggrolls (I swear by them see picture on profile). If you are getting soup they have bomb chicken tortilla and baked potato soup. If you are eating light get the fish tacos. Someone orders them nearly every time I go. They also have a good chop chop Asian salad that my sister gets every time we go. Our waiter was good and the restaurant was busy, they operate well. Drinks came right away and the wait for the food was short. Overall great experience at Houlihan's the other day. Get the spicy chicken avocado eggrolls, you will not be disappointed. Arrived late and ate at the bar and the food, wine and wine was very good. Excellent bartender, however; I can't remember his name but if you happen to talk to him, he is originally from the area but has lived all over at different points in his life. The best part of all was they had the wine I drink and that in and of itself is a rarity in Hershey. Enjoy, you can't go wrong for a late night meal. read more

We have been to Houlihan's many times, although it has been a while since the last stop. We decided to get two take out salads and were quite disappointed when we opened them. There was no dressing on or with the salad. More concerning was the chicken was not cooked well to a point we had to put it in the microwave to finish it, we didn't trust it. It wasn't very busy, so I don't think any excuse for that will work. Will think twice before the next time. read more

Our group stopped at Houlihan's while vacationing in Hershey as it had great reviews (gotta always check Yelp first!) and some of us had gone in the past, including myself. It's located in the center of Hershey at the best location possible, at the major intersection of West Chocolate and East Chocolate Avenue, adjacent to The Hershey Company building. It's a pretty large restaurant with a fabulous atmosphere and plenty of seating. Both tables and booths are available. Service above everything else is fabulous. Both of my visits here have always been fast, correct, and concise. Food is also delicious. The menu may not be as big as other chain restaurants, but they have the recipe down pat and everything is portioned beyond well. I had to take home some of my meal due to its size. And while they don't have complimentary bread, they do have rolls that you can pay fifty cents for. They are well worth it, and everyone should know the secret to order them as your appetizer. The interior is well designed, updated, and consistently clean. Decor is high tech in a sense, but that's a good thing. :) Throughout my vacation, this was the most filling and most delicious restaurant I visited. I suggest stopping here as one of the restaurants for any vacationeer in Hershey..... it's definitely one of the best places around. 5 stars. read more

Houlihan's is consistently delicious. As a vegetarian, it's hard to find restaurants that cater to my dietary needs. But houlihans has multiple options. They make their veggie burgers in house and are insanely delicious. Their soups are all fantastic. I recommend the tomato bisque with grilled cheese balls. My favorite houlihan's menu item is the Tuscan white bean salad. It consists of arugula and romaine topped with bruschetta and warm goat cheese on top, surrounded by an olive oil and balsamic reduction dressing. Service is terrible. Staffs are in a hurry to kick us out but no service! We had the ribs, creamcheese chicken breast, pasta, soup pizza bread for my kids. We loved the food. The steak that we ordered which is almost $30 was bad, we ordered medium well and it was completely bloody rare. It was ok if its not cooked the right way we want but it taste like $5! Not worth it. We are there at 720 they close at 8 pm but everyone is just busy cleaning that they forgot there is people who is eating still and needs service. Its not a good habit to clean under our chairs with the vacuum while eating. read more

I ordered online, 2 entrees at 2:50 PM on a Friday Afternoon. The confirmation said 25 minutes. I went in early at 3:10 PM, and the person running curbside and carryout said he just sent the order to the kitchen, so if I wait in my car he would call me when its ready. I waited and waited, finally I went in around 4:25 to inquire. He went to the kitchen and came back and his first words were "I know your going to be mad, but the order never went through to the kitchen" He said he would talk to a manager and came back and said its the next order up to be made, reminder it was just 2 entrees, not a huge order. Finally around 4:55 PM the manager brought a bag over and said here you go, except it wasn't my order, I gave him my name, he grabbed another bag from the carry out table and said this is it. No sorry, no apologies. I waited 2 hours for 2 entrees, because at 2:50 pm on a Friday the carry out guy was overwhelmed. I was offered nothing for waiting around for 2 hours, by the way the food was cold. Listen, if you are looking for carry out or curbside during one of the most important times for this kind of service, there are dozens of small local restaurants to support. Choose one of those first over Houlihan's, a chain that is only worried about money, and not service to its customers. If you need some recommendations, send me a message, i can offer you a smaller more customer friendly place to support for almost anything on the Houlihan's menu, and you will get better service and better food. Stay away from the corporate. I am not a part of any restaurant in this area, nor am I paid by them, I am just jaded about the most terrible service I think I had at a restaurant in a long time this past Friday, 12/11/2020. I must say, I am a huge fan of Houlihans ( of Ramsey, NJ ) so this particular venue had some tough shoes to fill. It did a very nice job from start to finish. Quick service, good food, good atmosphere. We thought it would be packed since we left Hershey Park just as everyone else was storming out but we were seated right away and served right away. In all, no issues, no complaints and we all left with a full stomach. read more

My husband and I recently took a week getaway in Hershey, PA. While there it was recommended that he take me to Houlihan's for my birthday dinner. The restaurant itself is nice, clean and the staff was very friendly. They run a happy hour between 4:30-6:30 which was a bonus I thought but it was very confusing. Upon arrival we was asked if we were interested in happy hour and was seated in a both near the bar but the host nor the waitress never gave us the happy hour menu. So I ordered a chocolate martini flight (Not included in happy hour pricing). My husband ordered a local beer the waitress suggested than she came back and said they didn't have it. We started with a portabella flatbread pizza which was good. For our entrees I ordered meat loaf with garlic mashed potatoes and green beans. The meat loaf tasted like a frozen beef patty from the supermarket. It was so disgusting that I ate nothing on my plate. My husband ordered AHA tuna salad and a side of pineapple brown rice. The salad was not fresh and the rice had so much soy sauce in it that you could not enjoy the pineapple. At this point I was ready to go but my husband had preordered with the waitress apple pie with ice cream so he could sing happy birthday. I took it to go. So in conclusion the flatbread pizza and chocolate martini flight was good. The main entrees need a lot of work. The best part of our meal was the $15 birthday credit they gave us off the meal. read more

Houlihans is a great lunch choice for those who work near Hershey. I had their scallops with risotto and it was light and tasty. Service was not very good, as our waitress seemed forgetful and slow in a laid back kinda way. I had a delish drink that was featured and came in a Tiki mug. Their French onion soup was a bit over powering. Too much cheese and packed with onions. It was a challenge to eat and quite messy. I did not enjoy it at all. Overall, I wouldn't make this a number one choice if going for a dinner date, but for a casual supper or lunch at work, it's perfect! read more

This restaurant is located in the midst of a sleepy tourist spot of Hershey. But don't let that fool you. The inside of the restaurant is bustling. The staff is super friendly and knowledgeable. The kids menu was awesome. And the gluten free menu was great! Terrible for gluten free! We called ahead to see if they accommodated; the manger was very positive and upbeat about it and said they could do pretty much whatever. We get there, I decide my order, they say they can't do it gf. I order onion soup after much discussion they say they can do it. 10 min later kitchen manager comes out and says can't do it gf. I order something else she says she can do gf. 10 min later comes out of kitchen and says can't do that either. I ended up ordering the only choice I felt I had at that point, a chicken sandwich. We are currently doing a day trip in PA and hit Hooligans as a "safe bet" (we typically don't do chains). We were seated much quicker than quoted and the food was pretty good. Everyone ate everything they had and there were no complaints with the food. The service however is awful. They are terribly understaffed. To get the beer menu took 15 min. To get the actual beer took longer. If you require more than 3 visits to your table in a reasonable amount of time this is not the place for you. read more

As we ate, a waitress came next to our table and began operating a loud floor sweeper that emitted a grinding noise. After several minutes I asked her if she could please possibly sweep somewhere else while we finished our meal, as the noise was disturbing us. She dismissively said she was "just about finished," but proceeded to keep up the noise right next to us long enough to show us that she did not care that she was disturbing us, and was not about to honor our request. She finally moved to another section--so she easily could have moved away and returned later as a basic courtesy. My wife talked with the manager, and was also treated dismissively. Omg finally found good food in Hershey/Lancaster! LOL, haven't been to Houlihan's in so long! This was a great experience from the start, got seated right away by the friendly hostess and it was a pleasure to deal with our wonderful, friendly and informative waitress Brianna, she gave me great recommendations on drinks appetizers and entrées! For apps went with these wonderful little artichoke balls with goat cheese, they were phenomenal followed by chipotle chicken nachos which were just as good and all the fixings! And then potato skins with cheddar and bacon which you can never go wrong with! They make them really good here! For dinner I had the shrimp tacos which were some of the best I ever had! Very flavorful!And the wife had some sort of chicken and cheese flatbread which looked pretty good as well! Washed everything down with some of their choice cocktails which I simply cannot remember the names because I'm very buzzed right now!, But once again Brianna our waitress was amazing, definitely ask to be seated in her section she will take care of you! read more
