The steaks are the best in this area. They offer many options to top your steaks, but they are seared and have plenty of flavor. This establishment is small and intimate so you get superb service. The staff offer suggestions on food and drink options. The table gets complimentary biscuits which are served fresh and warm. Enjoy!

This was our 3rd year celebrating our wedding anniversary at this establishment. Every single year it has blown us away. I promise you, this steak is the BEST you will ever have! I don't know about you, but in our country's current economy it's near impossible to find a great steak. Houston White always delivers. Our server was Kelly and, just like last year, she was phenomenal. Very attentive and knowledgeable regarding the menu! My husband had two old fashions with Basil Hayden, and he said they were made very well! To start, I had a Caesar Salad which was massive and delicious! My husband had the soup of the day, a seafood chowder... Outstanding! We both had filet mignon (one 6oz and one 10oz) medium rare, which was made to perfection. We ordered two sides, THE BEST MAC AND CHEESE YOU'LL EVER HAVE I PROMISE YOU! and the potato wedges (which were good not great). Although we were absolutely stuffed, we decided to spilt the peanut butter pie for dessert. If you're still reading this review, I'll leave you with this. If we didn't live in Jersey, we would make this restaurant a frequent date night! I promise you, you will not regret it.

Impeccable service and food Sunday 4.30.23 5pm. This was our first time here. *Drinks: Razz A Tini, Old Fashioned, La Crema Chardonnay, 20 yr Fladgate Tawny Port *Shrimp Cargot App *Filet With Horseradish Cream & Butter Poached Lobster Tail Add On *Lobster Thermidor *Sides - Mashed & Green Beans *Chocolate Mousse Cake Cozy banquette seating and classy atmosphere. Food was delicious. The complimentary cheddar biscuits served hot right at the beginning gets the experience off on the right foot. Shrimp Cargot was a scrumptious, cute word play served on an escargot plate. Filet was cooked spot on. I have never had Thermidor served with lightly dressed greens and frites on the side. It works. Cocktails were well made. Excellent experience. Highly recommend.

I am going to start off with saying that Andriy is an ABSOLUTE GEM! Hold on to him for as long as you can! He absolutely made our experience one we will remember for a long time! We came here for our 2nd anniversary before we get married Jan 1st. Honestly I am so incredibly blown away from making the reservation, to us walking out the happy tummies and the best dining experience we have ever had. We started with the Shrimp Cargot and it was good absolutely perfect! It was enough to get our tummies excited for what was to come. We decided to have our cheddar biscuits with the honey butter. Ummm.. WOW! For our main dishes we ordered the pan roasted duck breast, 6oz filet mignon, with butter poached lobster tail and brussels sprouts. We've never had duck before and with the recommendation of Andriy, we had it cooked Med Rare.. Everything melted in your mouth. It was by far one is the best meals we've ever eaten. There was melted butter served with the lobster tail, but we ended up dipping the duck in to it and WOW!! We decided on the peanut butter pie and chocolate heaven pie for dessert too. Again, blown away! We can't wait to visit again soon! This place is so romantic and the mood is very very easy to cozy up to with a special someone. The prices and total cost for the meal was also very fair for what you ordered.

We were in Rehoboth DE for the weekend and did what we always do and turned to Yelp for a recommendation. 5* made us confident we wouldn't be disappointed, yet we were. Located on the main street a few blocks off the beach,in an old house. The greeting we received at the front desk was lacking enthusiasm and warmth. Most of the tables in the front room were empty, yet we were seated in a corner in a back room Our server Tyler was friendly. We checked in and noticed an offer for free onion rings, Tyler was unaware and said he'd need to check. We proceeded to order and assumed that when onion rings arrived, they were honoring the yelp coupon. The wine list is average. Usually, a steakhouse is better. Also, I expect 2x on average markup for a restaurant. Their bottles seem approx 3x, so we only ordered a glass each. $16 a glass, decent size pour. Wedge salad was bib lettuce with blue cheese, candied bacon, tomatoes, and egg. It does state Bib lettuce, though I was surprised and disappointed because I love a traditional iceberg Wedge. Candied bacon was rock had. Oysters Rockefeller arrived as a massive pile of cooked spinach on top of three oysters. See picture, not appealing. The Oysters themselves were not separated at all from the shell and tasted fishy. They give you one biscuit with honey butter. Additional biscuits are 4 for $8 Green beans were cooked perfectly, though more butter than I prefer. Horseradish sauce with onion rings was delicious Our steaks were cooked to the requested temperature and were high quality. They ask you to cut into the center when they serve to check the temperature There was more blue cheese than steak on my plate though. Overall, I feel the meal was overpriced. What really disappointed me was the manager's reaction to the Yelp offer. Our bill came and we were charged $14 for the onion rings. Right as the bill arrived, the manager was making rounds asking tables how their meals were. I asked her about the yelp coupon and she immediately stated "it's a scam, we didn't put it on there" and "Be careful what you do on yelp, it's a scam" I told her we only ordered them because of the coupon, she repeated the statement above and walked away. A few minutes later, our waiter came over and said they were going to remove them from our bill. Then the manager came back over and repeated "Be careful what you do on yelp, it's a scam" They clearly thought they were doing us a favor taking $14 off our bill of $222. What we ate: Wedge salad Oysters Rockefeller 6oz filet with blue cheese Ribeye Green beans Onion rings My rating rationale +.5 Service +.5 Food~Taste/flavor/quality +.5 Presentation +1 Atmosphere/vibe +.5 Value

I was surprised to find this well reviewed steakhouse nearly empty on an October Sunday. Still our server, Andre, provided a good sense of hospitality. I began with a HWCO-hattan, which tasted like a Bourbon Negroni, La Portena had a glass of Sauvignon Blanc. Both were very good. Next up were biscuits, with honey butter. Warm, flaky, and tender, I wish our server had left us the third one. For apps we shared the lamb pops and the wedge salad. The lamb chops were among the best I tasted, with the sort of deep flavor you will find in North African cooking. The wedge salad was not a slouch, but it was not exactly a wedge either, the Bibb leaves had been arranged in a loose pile. I followed Andre's recommendation and ordered a glass of a red blend which went well with the Delmonico steak. The beef was perfectly portioned for one, about 14 oz., and precisely medium rare. It came with greens on the side. I plumped for the deep Bordelaise for an extra kick. The saucier knows her stuff. La Portena had the duck breast, which was also perfectly cooked to temperature, tender, with two accompaniments -- a mustard sauce, and a fruit conserve. The kitchen's only stumble was the creamed spinach - not enough greens to handle the overly rich sauce. It left us unable to risk a dessert. I'll try the roasted Brussels sprouts next time.

Salisbury steak special

Went here because a friend said it was the best place around for a steak. We made a 5:15 reservations and were seated as soon as we arrived. Took our drink order and then we sat. After 10 minutes they realized we had no menus and apologized. We then started with the crab imperial dip which was the best we ever had. The only downside is they give 4 small toast triangles which is not enough and takes away from the dip. Then ordered the crab cakes and Salisbury steak special that was recommended. The crab cakes are a 7 out of 10 however the Salisbury steak was just a $44.00 meatloaf that needed onions and peppers in the mix. We finished dinner and it seemed like 15 minutes until the server came back. He then cleared the table and asked if we wanted anything else. We had to ask if the offered desert in which they did. That was yet another 20 minutes to order and get the desert. The place has a great atmosphere, fairly cramped for space and very slow service. We were there for over 2 hours and had a bill over $230 for 2 without a tip. If you have time to just hang out and want a great atmosphere, this is the place to go. If you want a great meal and service at a fair value, then go to the steakhouse at the Midway shopping center. My wife & I eat 2-3 dinners a week out in Rehoboth & Lewes area and do not think we would go back. There are 2 many restaurants in the area with better food and service

Complimentary cheddar biscuits were amazing!

First time at Houston White Co. and won't be the last. I've been wanting to go for a while now and so glad tonight was the night! I think we just found our place to celebrate special occasions! My boyfriend and I had the NY Strip and it was cooked perfectly. He said that it was the best steak he's ever had! It melted in your mouth and was probably one of the best I've had, as well. Our server Kelly, was amazing and so sweet! She was very attentive and gave us the perfect recommendations when asking questions about what we should try! We can't wait to come back again!! Thank you, Houston White Co. for making our "date night" perfect!

In the outdoor patio portion, which is fully covered and protected. The restaurant itself was not full and they were plenty of open tables. It wasn't awfully loud either which helps to enjoy dinner. There was also indoor seating if you opt for that. We started with cocktails. They had on the menu, a dill pickle martini, so had to try. The perfect blend of salty and boozy. I opted for the old-fashioned, which was a classic. Good and strong just the way I like it. We opted for the Himalayan salt block which came with grilled shrimp and fillet tails. Became served on a piping hot salt block. We also opted for the onion rings after seeing another table will have them and having food envy. We ordered the tempura green beans which were more bread than tempura. I ordered the wedge salad. This preparation came chopped instead of an a wedge. I had the 8 ounce filet mignon cooked to my liking. We also had a crab cake which was good with little filler and a lot of jumbo crab pieces . We also had one scallop entree . I did order a baked potato for a side which was a normal size baked potato. That was my only complaint. The potato tasted like it wasn't fresh. It also is eight dollars. We all know how much a potato cost. We also ordered the crispy brussels sprouts which were good not great because they weren't exactly hot. The scallops were grilled perfectly and flavored and seasoned well. We finished off dinner with a bottle of Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand. All in all the service was really good and the food was good. The spot is a little bit more on the pricey side, but given the nature of where it's located, you expect that. $450.00 for three dinner , apps, drinks and bottle of wine.

We made our way through the lobby and were joined by a friend visiting from Scottsdale, AZ. Our group was seated at a pleasant table for four, which provided a view of the Atlantic Ocean beach and the boardwalk. Our meal featured two Mango Creamsicles, crafted with vanilla vodka, Liquor 43, mango puree, and cream, priced at $14 each. I also opted for the $22 ahi tuna poke bowl, which included rice, avocado, edamame, radishes, carrots, seaweed salad, toasted sesame seeds, spicy aioli, and soy sauce. Our experience concluded with a mutual agreement to return for a future brunch, lunch, or dinner.

The vibe is one of a relaxed old school pub. Leather furniture, big wooden bar, tables for games, etc. It felt like we'd been transported away from a beach town! The bartender was very friendly and talented with the cocktail creations. The Old Fashions were spot on! My wife tried one of their specialty drinks that had a frozen ball of different flavors/liquors in it then prosecco is poured over. As the ice ball melts different flavor appear. It was quite a unique drink (a bit pricey, but good). The rest of our cocktails were on par with prices at other establishments in RB.
