Everything I tasted was delish and I pretty much tasted the whole menu! I went here for a work dinner and it did not disappoint. The drink special was a spicy strawberry mule which amazing, the succotash was a stand out dish! Had the pork belly and lobster tails as and entree, everyone in my group is still talking about the meal 24 hours later! Our server brendan was prompt and polite as well. Visited Rehoboth beach in early November. This seemed to be the place for steaks. Food was good. Service was great. Our waiter Steve (I think) was really helpful. The prices were a little high considering everything was ala cart. I ordered the 6oz filet and it came on a really small plate. We shared a loaded baked potato and I couldn't even fit half of it on my really small plate. My husband ordered NY strip and he enjoyed it. All in all it was a good experience just note ala cart for anything extra (except the homemade cheddar biscuits which were amazing). read more

Houston White was a sensational dining experience last night! The service proved attentive and superb in a setting with the relaxed ambiance of an old fashioned steak house. This place does not know how to cook their steaks or scallops. I ordered medium rare and my steak came out well done. When they came back the steak was medium at best. The scallops were never edible, they were translucent. read more

Never got to eat here. Went in sat night we had no reservations so the hostess asked if we wanted to sit at the bar as there were 2 seats available. I said sure as we were sitting down the hostess which wasnt very nice came over and said we now couldnt sit at the bar because there was a reservation for 4 people. Now how does 4 people sit in 2 seats. She then said we could sit at a little table with freaking stools to sit on . Yeah I want to sit on a stool waiting 50 dollar steaks. My friend who frequently eats at different restaurants there said he would never eat here because of the hostess. He has alot of friends in rehoboth so he is spreading the word about our treatment from this place. She just should have said no tables available and we would have gladly left and made reservations for another night. Starting with the positive aspects. I like the idea of a steak house in a beach town because there is not much competition. I also like the building because it was a converted house and you could tell that they put a great amount of time and energy into the kitchen (which looked really cool). As it relates to the food, the biscuits and butter were excellent (you should definitely get an extra order). Additionally, the mushrooms and creamed spinach were very good and meet the benchmark for any good steak house. Having said that, I left a little disappointed with the rest of the meal. The Mac n Cheese looked amazing as they brought it to the table but lacked something upon tasting. The texture was there but there was absolutely no flavor. My wife ordered the filet and I ordered the ribeye (usual combination for us). The steaks were both cooked to order properly and promptly. They just were not memorable. I attend every steak house with the expectation that this is going to be the best I ever had. Although quality cuts of meat, I was underwhelmed. Positive note: staff and owners were terrific. Very friendly and courteous. Note of caution: it can be very loud in there because of such a small space. If you happen to sit next to a very obnoxious group, it can impact your evening. Good restaurant and I might give it another chance some day but feel like I can spend that amount of money at better places. read more

Megan has done it again. We had dinner at La Fable on Friday night (AMAZING) and while talking with her, learned about Houston White - so we made reservations on the spot for the next night. This is the restaurant Rehoboth needed - a PROPER STEAKHOUSE with incredible service and even better food. I am very particular about the temperature of my steaks and the server informed me that they check the temperature 3 times during the cooking process to ensure perfection - and he wasn't lying. All 4 steaks came out PERFECT. We went here on Sunday night for a nice dinner and hands down it was fantastic. Our server Steve was so polite and attentive to our table of 2. He was personal and a pleasure to speak with. The dinner was properly paced out so there was no rush. As for the bar service it was 5 stars as well. The drinks were ice cold and served very nicely. My fiancé and I love visiting Rehoboth and were looking forward to dinner at Houston White. The room is comfortable and welcoming. Our waiter was attentive and friendly. Our porterhouse and sides were expertly prepared. The prices are reasonable and the portions are generous. If this review was based on food, I would award five stars. It pains me to report that our experience at Houston White will be forever marred by the behavior exhibited by the owner and a patron. We were seated near a family of five. I compliment the parents on their children's good behavior. The mother was loud and obnoxious, but we cannot blame the restaurant for this. When our delicious entrees arrived at our table, the owner began chatting with the woman. The owner proceeded stand right behind me and talk loudly about a melange of topics, not limited to a mutual friend's dog dying, travel to Disney World (the owner did not enjoy her time in the Magic Kingdom, as she was with her entire family) Greece and China (the family of five is headed there for two weeks this summer because the husband has a sabbatical) and a corrupt travel agent scandal. I feel it necessary to mention that this noisy and lengthy conversation was occurring a mere three feet from me as I was trying to enjoy our $85 steak. This conversation lasted the length of time it takes for two adults to consume a 36 ounce porterhouse and two sides. During dinner, my fiancé and I were unable to discuss how delicious we found the food. We ate in silence as these two women babbled on for at least twenty minutes. The room is beautiful, but small and the content of their conversation was easily heard at our table. A restaurant of this caliber should know better. My compliments to the chef. read more

What a disappointment! Have been here many times in the past. This no longer is a "prime steak house." Only a few beef choices with no aged beef as in the past. NY strip was tasteless and there are non steakhouse restaurants with better. No traction all sauces other than their own A1. No sides other than combos- Small bak potato with a few asparagus spears for 15$. My steak ordered medium came gray. Manager took back but told me the lighting in the kitchen show it was not gray. His knowledge of the menu and preparation could not have been more spot on if he was the chef. Wonderful experience. We had recently eaten at the owner's other restaurant, La Fable, and had such a perfect dinner we wanted to try her other place. The steaks were melt in your mouth delicious. We had the dry aged Kansas City and the filet. Both were awesome. We also tried the onion rings and cauliflower followed by their signature ice cream sundae! My wife and I were celebrating the recent birth of our second daughter and decided to come back to Houston-White because of our fantastic experience from a prior visit last year. I consider myself very picky when it comes to steak and living in the Lewes-Rehoboth area, there are slim options of finding a restaurant that is on par with the steakhouses you can only find in or around major cities. Houston-White clearly fills that void and saves you the 1-3 hour trek to NYC, Philly, Baltimore or DC to enjoy really, really, really good red meat. All the food was consistently delicious as our prior visit and the service was awesome with Peter as our waiter (on his very first night there, nonetheless!). I'd dare say that the steak was just as good as what I've had a Keens Chophouse in NYC - so full of flavor!!! What really took our dining experience up a notch, though, was a complimentary dessert from the owner, Megan! Thanks for making our evening extra special! Even though it was the "off"-season, business seemed to be good as the restaurant was fully packed by the time we left. I'm a bit conflicted. We sat a the bar for a pre-dinner drink and were virtually ignored. When we asked the bartender (older gent, salt/pepper hair) about getting a drink, his expression and demeanor made us feel like we were intruding on his time. A brief "eye meet" with other bar customers suggested that they had experienced something similar. Not a good start. Just as an aside, a friend relayed a remarkably similar experience during his visit which makes one wonder why he's still there. Steaks were good but similar to another review, insufficient seasoning on all four steaks. Hard to understand a gaffe like that when steak is the reason for the restaurant. Absent the seasoning issue, steaks and sides were good but not great. For the prices and service, I'll stay with La Fable. The staff there makes the place feel like home and the food is wonderful! read more

The steaks were cooked perfectly and they had an awesome amount of fat and marbling as expected for prime beef. Sometimes I order prime Delmonico and I'm afraid it won't truly be "prime". Disappointed today with our experience at what should have been an nice evening. We should have read the signs at first the male host wanted to seat us near the street close to where patrons would be standing waiting for their reservations. But it was only 5 pm and no one was even there and he insisted. I did not want to upset my husband so we waited till 5 and saw that no one even showed up at that time so my husband asked to be seated further back on property out side. He was very insistent till co owner told us we could pick our table. Then we ordered ribeye steak Monte Carlo medium done. I had the halibut The appetizer was excellent (Burrata). Our meals came out with no silverware and we had to wait, then the steak was rare and loaded with pepper. My halibut was dry and over toasted on top. We decided that returning our meals was not an option. This was our 2nd dinner out since the pandemic and what a let down. It saddens me to think that we had a better dinner at Hook and reel than an so call upper scale steak house. read more

Were we in New York, London or a Chic restaurant in D.C. no Rehoboth Beach! A fabulous eatery on Rehoboth Avenue. Cocktails are great, not shy on creativity nor on strength, wine list excellent. The food, where to start Ribeye was perfectly cooked, baked potato flawless Bernese sauce perfect. My dinner partner started with a Caesar salad then Lobster macaroni and cheese, and was more than pleased. Needless to say there was no room for dessert.,maybe next time. WOW! Perfect date night restaurant! Being right on the strip @ the Boardwalk made it very easy to find. The small size of the place creates a very romantic, intimate atmosphere. The BEST part was the FOOD! Everything we ate was AMAZING! We had the Delmonico Ribeye made Rare with the garlic butter topping. Wow. The butter created a great flavor and it was cooked so tender I couldve cut it with my spoon. Ive eaten at many nice steakhouses and I was blown away at the taste/quality for the price! The service was GREAT and I regret not getting my servers name. Told us all about the history of the restaurant and other places to try in the area as well. The onion rings were the best ive ever had, my girlfriend loved the bacon brussel sprouts but the butter they serve with their rolls is reason enough to return!
