Had my first visit at this establishment and must I say it was worth my while. The food was great I loved everything about it no complaints. I got the Mississippi skillet and would recommend it to anyone going to eat at Huckleberry's. On top of the great food the service was excellent! My waitress Jennifer was very friendly and helpful with questions I had, she was very attentive towards my table and made sure everything was in order. They greeted me when I came in and said it was a 15 min wait. My table was ready in exactly 15 min, happy abt that. We had nawlings breakfast and the pancakes was amazing! The eggs and bacon were ok. Tried Huckleberry's for the second time today. First visit was delicious but the skillet breakfast was way too much for one person - good news is that it made four meals for the price of one. Decided to go for something less ambitious today so I ordered biscuits and gravy, bacon, and a Huckleberry muffin. The bacon was the best part - flavorful and perfectly cooked. The muffin had a weird aftertaste and I couldn't eat more than two bites. The gravy had a heavy raw flour taste with one bit of sausage - no depth of flavor at all. Starting with a roux would fix that. The biscuit was passable. The Mississippi skillet from the first visit was far superior in flavor, but it would be nice to have a smaller version available. I saw this place as I was out and about, but have never been here before. Since my daughter was home I asked if she wanted to join me for breakfast. I told her there was a place called Huckleberry's breakfast and lunch I have been wanting to try. As drove in the parking lot was full. We walked in the place was plunb full with customers, and we were promptly greeted, by Ms. Emily, one the hostess. She was very polite, with a very nice smile and welcoming. She lead us to a booth. Although the restaurant was full staff were well organized, the place was neat in appearance and very clean. All staff worked like a well oiled machine,no maddness or chaos when very busy. We also had the privilege of speaking with Ms. Courtney, the Manager of this fine restaurant. Ms. Courtney was polite, very friendly and welcoming. Her attitude and kindness, reflected on her staff who all appeared ready and egear to serve their customers. Our server Mr. AB, was very polite, quick sense humor, friendly and very welcoming. We found out that this was his first day on the job,but he must of had a great training because he didn't miss a beat. He was very efficient and read orders back to ensure that he got our orders correct. He promptly brought water and a cup of coffee. We order the Mardi Gras Beignets for $8.49, to our surprise the beignets were larger than depicted in the menu, they were served nice and hot, the beignets puffy, it came with a custard cream, strawberry sauce, blue berry sauce, and peach sauce. This was so delicious. My daughter ordered the banana Foster platter with candied pecans, side of green fried tomatoes, ham, and two eggs prepared to your specifications, for $17.69, a cup of coffee for $3.99, and I ordered the Pumpkin Spiced Pie platter with 2 pumpkin spiced pie candied pecan pancakes, crispy hash browns, and two eggs cooked to your order, for $17.79. My daughter said her food was very delicious and very tasty my food was so delicious the scrambled eggs were fluffy tasted great, the hash browns were crispy to my liking and the pumpkin spiced pancakes were so tasty. This restaurant restaurant was super busy as customers kept coming and going no table was empty for too long. Came the second week for breakfast/lunch. I had Tom's scramble, which was okay, but nothing special. My guest had the Monte Cristo sandwich and a Peach iced tea. He thought the sandwich was fine but he barely touched the tea. I tasted it and found it full of berries, no peach so the waitress realized she brought the wrong drink and exchanged it (in a to go cup, since he had already finished his meal and we were preparing to leave.) The atmosphere was quite loud, so not the kind of place I would go to again for breakfast. I really have to be up for a few hours before I'm ready for that kind of vibe. We were loudly and boisterously greeted at the door. A hostess seated us and shouted out some of the menu highlights. This was followed by our waitress who started shouting out the same menu highlights when I asked her if we could just look at the menu ourselves and then let her know if we had any questions. Before our food arrived another loud, boisterous employee came by, not to check on us or see what we thought, but to shout the attributes of their great restaurant. Not the kind of environment that appeals to me and when all the staff has to shout at you in order for you to be able to hear them, which was really unnecessary as I didn't have to shout when I spoke with any of them, it's just too extra for my taste. The decor is California's idea of Louisiana. Overall, breakfast for 2 was $48, including tip. For that price or less, there are so many places that are better. read more

Tried this for lunch first. Pretty crowded, but we were seated quickly. We were told our server would be right with. Not true. Finally flagged down one of the wait staff and they took our order. Food was OK, but nothing special. I had the Dixieland Steak Melt Sandwich. Not much flavor. French fries were not good. Prices are on the high side. We are more of a breakfast couple, so we went back later in the week to try their breakfast items. Service was not any better. My wife said the oatmeal was good, but the toast was less so. I had the Stuffed French Toast . It was somewhat tasteless. Not sure it was even tosted or grilled. Just looked and tasted like bead. We had to actually find someone when we needed coffee refills, three times. The wait staff seemed to spend most of their time behind the wall in the kitchen talking instead of actually serving the customers. I say customers, but there were only 2 or 3 other customers there for breakfast, and they appeared to be ignored as well. Probably will not be in a hurry to revist. Service is indifferent, food is average, and prices are high. read more
