Employees are very friendly -espousing southern hospitality. Despite what appears to be a busy parking lot I was able to get in and get seated quickly. The food - I had chicken and waffles for breakfast and was not disappointed. I did go in expecting the menu to be similar to Denny's but it is not (and that's ok). The only negative is the coffee didn't seem to be that good and it was a little more expensive than what I would expect from a restaurant. Overall it is worth a return visit to try other menu options. I do miss the 24-hr diner (Denny's) that was here previously- but Huckleberry's is a fair substitute. read more

I gave this place a second chance and was extremely disappointed! Just when I was about to take my first bite of the stuffed French toast I noticed a hair in the strawberry sauce, it clearly wasn't mine since I have dyed red hair! I let the server know and she said she would have them make it again, but at that point it was clear that everyone at the table was turned off and second guessing their next move. Do it! I loved everything about this place. The decor is really cute! The T-shirts they sell-adorable marketing! The real star here is the food! Every person at our 8 too table raved about their breakfast! I had the Mississippi which is a skillet type meal-it was delicious! The orange juice served in the Ball jar was perfect! And my table raved about the fried green tomatoes served as an accompaniment to most dishes! The flap jacks were very fluffy and the huckleberry muffins so light and wonderful! I finally pulled over for a breakfast at Huckleberry's this morning with a buddy. The environment is charmingly thematic (Southern Bayou themed) and walking in is like the beginning of the Pirates of the Caribbean ride, but not so cheesy as to be annoying. The staff was very friendly and we were instantly seated. (Weekday breakfast hours have a lot of availability they said) The coffee was hot, tasty, and my mug was never empty. The food js Southern themed and my crab cake eggs Benedict was delicious. Compared to other local breakfast establishments the prices were several dollars cheaper and in my opinion, the service was even better than other local breakfast options. Our server was knowledgable, kind, and just the right amount of attentive. As opposed to other restaurants where they are clearly trying to rush you through your meal and get you out the door, I felt we had all the time in the world. Clean and fun environment, hot and tasty food, prompt and thorough service, and prices below other comparable restaurants...Huckleberry's is now going to be my go-to breakfast and meeting haunt. FYI, they also serve lunch, but I will have to get back to you about that one when I try it. I rarely write reviews, but my buddy said he had heard a negative review about the place before and I just wanted to give you my opinion from a pretty picky person. If I could put a negative review I would! For starters, the hash browns were more wet then cover of the menu. Pretty sure they are not fresh and more like frozen. The eggs are watery and I order food that never arrived. Also, how is it that the name of the restaurant is Huckleberry's yet they have like only 3 ITEMS on the menu with huckleberry's in it. The wait staff were not overly attentive, but friendly. I ordered the Louisiana Omelet. The omelet itself was subpar, but I was hungry and ate it in its entirety. The shrimp were not individually seasoned. Bland and probably just thrown in the omelet from whatever frozen bag they came from. The tomatoes that were supposedly the second ingredient in the omelet were barely there. The sauce was passing and the reason I continued with it. The only seasoning seems to be the paprika they dusted on the omelet. The eggs were the typical overcooked diner variety. The worst part was the accompanying "fried" potatoes. I use quotations because these came out cold and undercooked, still pale. How this was missed by both the cook and the waitress, I don't know. They also forgot the muffin that was included with the dish. It wasn't until the end of the meal that I was able to actually address these problems with my waitress. On the positive side she did bring out some excellently fried potatoes, my missing muffin, and took off the price of a drink as compensation. I rated this as a 3 star and not lower because my group did enjoy their meals (French toast and a children's meal). I've been to the one in Fairfield several times and have enjoyed the food. The Staff saves the Day... This has been our third time eating there for breakfast. Believing any company that specializes in breakfast and lunch only, should have it down-pat. Unfortunately, this isn't the case. The previous two times eating there for breakfast has been lackluster at best. I tend to order the same thing each time which is 3 eggs, CRISPY bacon, fixed fruit, no potatoes. Oh yes, the blueberry muffin too. This last time, today, I ordered the same thing with the same results when served. Eggs were lukewarm and the bacon was barely warm to cool, which is what has happen the last two times before. I have to say, for those that like bacon, Black Bear Diner is so much better. Huckleberry's bacon is so thin & really ranks up there with fast food eateries which isn't a compliment. Again, they specialize in breakfast which frankly tasted no better than a regular fast food. And again, I gave this place 3 times to get it right along with my wife which experienced something similar. How can it be cool to cold when it comes out so fast. We have been to the Huckleberry's on Fairway and were excited to see one so close. I had hoped after our meal to write a glowing review, but my parents always told me "if you have nothing nice to say, it is better to say nothing at all". So we have nothing more to say here. read more

This is the fastest and friendliest Huckleberry's I've ever been to. The food was perfect. I was expecting to wait 20 minutes to be seated and then another hour or so eating. Now this may not happen all the time and it was only me and my cousin but I'm still amazed. We arrived at 10:55 and had our food by 1110 and we were done eating by 1135. Four of us ate breakfast there on the day after thanksgiving. We were seated immediately even though they were quite busy. Our orders were taken and food brought promptly. The coffee is like dishwater- worst I've ever had. Everybody seemed happy with their order except mei order red fried green tomatoes and the picture beside it looked like 2 soft boiled eggs and sliced avocado came with them. The owner (Rick?) was loudly yelling at his employees, to the point that it was uncomfortable and my mother felt frightened by him. When my party questioned his conduct he responded with " it's my f#$%ing restaurant" . I've been to both Huckleberrys and they both have decent service but the food is nothing to write home about. $3.79 for coffee is outrageous even with inflation. The gravy on their biscuits is tasteless. Seems like the kitchen takes a lot of shortcuts when making breakfast. read more

My wife and I love this place. They are always so friendly to us and our little son. Food is great and the sizes of everything is very generous. I would give huckleberry 100 stars if I could if you haven't tried huckleberries, then you better try it now you will not be disappointed. I am very, very picky and my food usually goes back but not at huckleberries. I ate it all to the end the staff was amazing. They're very kind and sweet they make you feel welcome and the place is clean now all they need to do is have dinner because they have breakfast lunch but they don't serve dinner so we need to make sure they serve dinner because it's awesome. Let me speak for the meal and service I received. Having this be my first time, I was pleasantly surprised. The waitress was great being that she explained everything highlighted on the menu. She even seemed to add to the southern theme. The ribeye breakfast I received was the absolute highlight. Never would I think I could get a quality cooked steak how I had asked it to be cooked from a breakfast place. I asked for a medium ribeye and I received just that.
