This is a review on Service since we didn't stay. I made a reservation about a month ago for three for bingo night. We were the very first people to arrive. There were two people at the bar. The person in charge said they were overbooked for the night and because we were three people he was sitting us at a tiny round table, right off the front door and the furthest away from the bingo person. So we were going to be blessed with the door opening and closing all night long right by us and we practically begged to have another table and he said no those are only reserved for four. I think it was very poor management and a poor decision by that person. We got up and left. And yes, he offered us communal dining on stools that don't have backs and for us with back issues that was not an option which I told him I will never go to this place again they lost a potential customer. read more

This was my first time at Hudson House. I sat at the bar and only had cocktails, but I'll definitely be back for a meal soon! Johnny (I think) the bartender was so sweet and made some delicious drinks. I ordered the Mellow Yellow (a mango cocktail with tequila) and a Crush on You (similar guava cocktail with rum. )Both tasted SO fresh like they were made with real fruit puree, they were bright and tangy with a texture that's thick, but thinner than a smoothie. Their cocktail prices were extremely reasonable imo, ranging from $12-$16 for the craft and tiki style cocktails. The 2 I had were $12 and would easily be $16 at a similar spot. The ambiance is like a casual So Cal tiki dive vibe with an adorable inside and outdoor patio! Place it legit empty and every server here hates their life. It's like they're not getting paid to serve tables but someone is forcing them to go take orders. My Manhattan was solid albeit surprisingly stiff while a mezcal variation of their Crush on You recommended by our server was smoky and refreshing. Food included sweet potato fries, buffalo cauliflower, grilled octopus, brown sugar pork ribs, their signature pretzel burger, and the shrimp & lobster roll. Overall, just decent at best - the ribs were a little overcooked and lukewarm, the burger patty similarly dry, and the seafood overdressed. Additionally, the octopus was disappointingly cut up into small pieces compared to the whole tentacle preparations of nearly every other place I've had it. So while the noms weren't the best, the range of drinks, spacious and relaxing atmosphere, and great service still make Hudson House worth returning to for gathering with friends & family. read more

Our group came here mid-week to check out their Happy Hour but we had a great time and ended up staying for hours. It was bingo night and while at first that sounded a little slow it was a fun and energetic crowd and we had a great time. The service was quick and friendly, drinks were exactly as ordered and all of the food we tried was tasty. Our favorites were the salty dawgy, black ball, mac and goat cheese, fritters and fish tacos. Will definitely be back, great place with a fun bingo experience! read more

I am not a huge steak guy, but I love the Skirt Steak and fries I tried here. The steak is soft and thin. Seasoned well, and you tell them how you want your steak. French fries were good too. We ordered the cheddar serrano grit fritters, buffalo cauliflower, pecan crusted salmon and their pulled pork tacos and the ribs. The grit fritters were good and different but the cauliflower was super saucy which made them lose some of their structure and texture. This place is delicious and a hidden gem!!! I highly recommend it for craft cocktails and yummy food. We made a reservation for late afternoon on Saturday and sat outside. The weather was perfect and we were thrilled to know they have plenty of outdoor heaters in case it got chilly. The outdoor setting was adorable with a mix of picnic tables and regular tables. Most tables were full and they had a young/hip crowd. It is just a couple of blocks from Redondo Beach. We started with a couple of craft drinks and moved into small bite plates. The drinks were served quickly and were very refreshing. There were two of us and we shared the corn cakes, edamame and shishito peppers, and kale grit fritters. The food was the perfect amount and I loved all of the dishes equally. The flavors were popping and everything was served extremely fresh. Food wise, we had two rounds of burgers and fries, shishito peppers (so good!), edamame and short ribs. The ribs were a little salty but everything else were tasty. Best when shared with a group of people so you can try different items. Their main menu looked great as well, but we were too full so we didn't order any. Came here last night for dinner. We've been here before (a long long long time ago). Got a few drinks. Wine and beer. Nothing special there. I got the fish and chips with the chips (fries) extra crispy, and he got the pulled pork sandwich. They accidentally mixed up the fries and put extra crispy on his plate and the normal on mine. Then, they brought out an extra plate of extra crispy fries just in case. I was happy but ate too many damn fries lol. Erin was a great server!
