Came here with a friend last week and was seated super quickly, although I recommend a reservation. I got the salmon and it was cooked perfect, my wine was delicious, and the broccoli the salmon came with was steamed and seasoned very well. The restaurant is very aesthetically pleasing however in the middle of our meal we were spray with water from the bar which was never addressed by the bartenders. Maybe they didn't notice they spray us but it was weird. We weren't even sitting at the bar! Otherwise our server was fantastic and we had a great time! read more

The absolute best experience every time we dine at Hudson house. The food is delicious, the drinks are tasty and the variety of martinis keeps you coming back for more. Service is on point, the servers know every inch of the menu. Management is our greeting guests and assisting their team. Worst dinner experience ever!!! Think of being trapped on an airplane. There are screaming kids on either side of you for the entire flight. You can't hear a word being said to the person sitting next to you. The kids are unruly, climbing on top of the bench seat while the parents do nothing. The waitress skips your seat when food is served and makes you wait for 15min to bring a salad. (Really??? The kitchen can't even put a salad together in a reasonable amount of time?) Meanwhile, the others in your party have nearly finished eating. It was on par with a Chuck E. Cheese experience. The parents of the more obnoxious kids were apparently regulars and 'famous'. The wait staff couldn't stop feigning over them, let alone ask them to take their spoiled brats outside. Apparently, the management's policy is not to intervene when everyone around them is glaring, shaking their heads, and covering their ears at the screaming. Ordered the French Chicken which came with French fries and a side salad. Really enjoyed the sauce on the chicken. Covid times and fancy takeout are challenging. Hudson house delivers. And they took care of us on mew years eve to boot! I've been wanting to check out this spot since it used to be an ihop (I think?). The remodel was something I witnessed from afar whenever I went to Lovers Pizza next door. I'm pretty sure the whole thing went down during the pandemic. We ordered a ton of food to celebrate the end of 2020 - bc good riddance! We got the popcorn chicken, the dynamite shrimp, the cheeseburger, the lobster roll, the truffle fries, and the Mac and cheese. Everything was delicious. The only complaint / recommendation I have is that the popcorn chicken was a little on the dry side. They do include 3 dipping sauces so that makes up for it! The star of the night was the dynamite shrimp. So tasty and not overly breaded and fried like many other renditions. The lobster roll was a good ratio of meat to bread and while it is on the smaller side, lobster rolls are never served in huge sizes. I understand many Texans are disappointed by this but it's just us being Texans. The cheeseburger was juicy and delicious. Two thin patties cooked perfectly. Only complaint here is they don't serve it with fries. We did get the truffle fries so that took care of us on this night. The fries are shoestring style and flavored perfectly with a good crunch on intake. All in all, the food does not taste overly unhealthy or greasy which is a huge plus. I went to Hudson House Lakewood location with my parents and husband. I got the fish tacos and my husband and the others got the burger. I would definitely want to visit again the food was very tasty. The only complaint I have is that the waitress forgot to put in our appetizer order so it was brought out after our food came out. read more

Hudson house is always a yes for me. Each location has its own vibe and I feel like Lakewood is more laid back, neighborhood vibes. A reservation was for 845 and we were seated a little bit after 830. It took a moment for a server to come and check in but as soon as they did, we were promptly served drinks and asked for our dinner selection. Having been numerous times I knew I wanted the French chicken as it's always good even though I don't actually like chicken out at restaurants. my boyfriend ordered the burger, which is probably my second favorite option here as well. The restaurant was lively, but not too loud where it was hard to hear. Our server. apologized that it took a moment for someone to come to the table when we sat down and actually offered us a complementary dessert. The food was fabulous, the drinks were strong, and the service was amazing. Hudson House is a date night favorite. A bit pricier, but worth every penny. Get their mule cocktail - it's so fresh with the cucumber! We always get oysters to start with, then I'm obsessed with their scallops in the lemon butter sauce. I dream about them. Husband gets the lobster roll - can't go wrong. It's huge and so fresh. I've been to a few of the Hudson House locations at this point, and each time I've really enjoyed my experience! Each one is located in an unassuming area (like a strip mall of sorts), but it's a beautiful, upscale diner upon entry. Some of the locations tend to get quite loud inside, but this one wasn't as overpacked/noisy. The cheeseburger is a must - it tastes as good as it looks! Unfortunately it doesn't come with fries, which were deliciously seasoned, so I'd recommend ordering them on the side. I'm also a big fan of dirty martinis so I ordered the bleu & gold martini, which was decent. Overall, this is a great spot for a nicer lunch! read more

Oh my gosh I absolutely love it here and will be back the next time I'm in Dallas! We had the cute back room called "The Pineapple Room" since we had such a large group of girls. Our server was such a doll for dealing with all of us girls who we are super loud. 10 out of 10 for weight staff. I got the burger and the side salad it was absolutely delicious just look at the picture of how good it is. If I was to come back there are several other things I would want to try on the menu, however I did get to try a bite of someone's mac & cheese...O.M.G. .... Thank you Destiny for being a great server to my wife and sister in law, showing up 45 min before closing without a res, the hostess who was also kind and gave us our favorite table the one just to the left up high from the door that side is our favorite side to eat on.......we come here about 5x a year and the staff never fails to be amazing.........The food is always on point my wife always orders the chicken parm and that is good she loves it, I get the last half of it every time.....then the girls always split the Mac and Cheese which is probably the best Mac and Cheese in 500 miles if not more, I rarely get a bite of it cause they hog it and this time my sister got some salad named after a girls name and she loved it and I got the some sort of sushi plate and it was probably the best sushi I have ever had my sister in law split it and I wish we didn't. My family and I enjoyed our dinner at Hudson House, despite the insane overcrowding at the bar because of their bar only happy hour. The crowd spilled into the front host stand area which made entering the restaurant feel overwhelming. It definitely felt like a potential fire hazard with so many people crammed into the front of the restaurant, blocking doors and pathways. We made a reservation and I absolutely recommend making one as well. I felt dissatisfied with the finer details, especially viewing this as a nice restaurant where people go for date nights, family and group dinners, special occasions, etc. - the booth showed heavy wear and tear, the menu felt sticky, the napkins came with stains, and the seats and table looked like they didn't get wiped down from previous use (crumbs everywhere). Despite this, our waiter was very friendly and knowledgeable of the menu. And, the food tasted delicious. While Hudson House offers a simple menu with both meat and fish options (no real options for vegans/vegetarians except for salad), they clearly specialize in seafood rather than meat. A family member ordered the steak and said it tasted "just okay". The rest of us ordered seafood and all of our meals tasted excellent! I recommend the lobster roll (limited availability) and the fish tacos! We also ordered appetizers which tasted decent. The "avocado dip" is simply overpriced guacamole with homemade chips and the popcorn chicken tasted chewy and greasy/oily. For those ordering alcoholic drinks, be advised that one bartender pours very strong drinks and the other does not. Family members that ordered drinks all agreed that the drinks tasted noticeably different each time. Overall, I recommend Hudson House... provided they work out details like cleanliness, consistency, and overcrowding. We will, however, give it another try in the future. read more

It has a good cozy vibe. I love the hostess and waiters uniforms. I get the feeling that I'm eating at a seafood restaurant on a pier on New Hampshire (maybe that's what the concept is) We decided to dine for brunch. I had the chicken and red velvet waffles...the chicken was juicy with a nice crust but I wasn't too fond of the waffles. I used to love this place so much. The cocktails were fantastic, the service was impeccable, and good was always fresh and delicious. I've been three times over the last 7 months and had an increasingly terrible experience each time. This last time was the final one. In short, the service was terrible. We got there thirty minutes before happy hour and didn't get our first beverage until about 45 minutes later. Not that we were waiting for HH. That's just how long it took them to serve us two cocktails. We wanted food but never got the opportunity to order. The drinks were just thrown down in front of us, and the server left in a rush. During the time of all the waiting around, we watched the expo area. Seemed really chaotic with no one person taking control. At some point, a person with a laptop in arm came over and started handling the food and garnishes. I'm a big hand washer and didn't see any of that going on. At one point, i saw the oyster shucker pick up a dirty towel of the ground to throw it away. Immediately went back to shucking raw oysters without washing. That really turned me off, considering oysters are high on the easy to contaminate list for foods. I won't be back for a fourth visit. read more

Went to Hudson House for our fourth time today. First time at the Lakewood location. Went at 4:00 for happy hour which is from 3-6. It was already full. (Make a reservation!) The manager Veronica was very nice and suggested we wait a few minutes to see if anyone canceled. They did and she got us in. She continued to come by our table and give us excellent extra service, Along with our waitress! Go for Happy Hour 1/2 price martinis and oysters. $10 burgers! All are excellent. And Veronica will be there to make sure you are happy and taken care of. Everyone went above and beyond! Which now a days is something that's forgotten! We will be back! The Benedict was not that great but a bit too salty, too much hollandaise, the lobster was dry and stringy. Always disappointing when the price point is so high. The wrap was good the fish "tacos" are great. When you order coffee at lunch you get your own French press. Good service. Oh the clam chowder is delicious. I was expecting to be wowed by the service because I've heard so many good things. I sat down at the bar and was immediately greeted. Beyond that initial warm greeting, everything else was mid or sub par. I ordered an iced tea. I asked for a lemon and the bar tender proceeded to handle my lemon with her bare hands and stick it on a pick. Ordered the $10 happy hour cheeseburger (great value) and the bar tender suggested a side of fries ($7 ouch). Once I got the burger and fries, the service went out the door. My iced tea sat empty for more than 5 minutes. And when they refilled, they didn't put more ice in the glass. I just had a glass of room temp tea. Mid-meh-won't be back! read more
