I guess most things are already prepared so the food came out quickly. The fava beans were cold, which I didn't expect and the beef kebabs were not bad but not a flavor that I enjoyed (and quite red in the middle after taking out the cinnamon stick). Also, I think I learned that I don't like tahini that much which was on everything I ordered. I would not come back for my personal tastes but others in my party were generally pleased. The portions were a bit small considering the price and were more like appetizers/tapas which makes sense with the menu setup but I could get more/better food for less somewhere else. Great food, not at all great service. Ordered delivery from Hummus Kitchen because we were starving, and the system estimated delivery would come at 7:40 pm, 30 minutes after we ordered. It came at 8:50, an hour and 10 minutes later and a full 1 hour and 40 minutes after we ordered. Absurd! The food was cold when it arrived AND they got our order wrong (they left out the hummus! At Hummus Kitchen). Also, it only came after two phone calls to the restaurant. During the second one, we spent several minutes just trying to locate our order, and were then informed that the restaurant could not call the delivery person "in the middle of the street." ?? Food: pretty good overall. I've sampled a few things, salads and the hummus dishes(favorites are sirloin and vegetable hummus) are all very good! Entrees are a hit or miss. My mom was not a fan of the tilapia morocco fish. it was overcooked. The chicken kabob and Schwarma are good however. I'd recommend trying a few dishes to see what you like. Service: nice waiters though quite slow service Ambience: really nice. It's a very down to earth place. the only downfall is the location, which is undergoing construction. Also the place is glatt kosher(meat) so there is no dairy whatsoever.. there are tons of meat dishes obviously, as well as vegan vegetable based (and dairy free) dishes. I am extremely appalled! The service was extremely slow. The kitchen took forever to cook a meal. We asked for extra bread and it took forever. Then the manager had the audacity to add a gratuity to a $100 bill and claimed it is their policy. When I questioned the manager about the bill he said no one has ever complained. Absolutely disgusting to blame a customer by underestimating if they would tip the waitress. I was a waitress in the past and understand the hard work it takes. It saddens me to see such average reviews for this place because we had a double date here with our friends and absolutely everything was on point. Service was friendly and quick with our waiter providing excellent suggestions for vegetarian dishes (SO MANY options !). We really enjoyed everything we ordered. We had the garden vegetable soup, one chicken hummus, one regular hummus, mediterranean chopped salad, and of course the shakshuka classic. The drink was just incredible, refreshing, delicious, well presented- everything you want on a late summer evening. Sadly the name escapes me now, but it was a green drink! This is a pre-theater crowd restaurant that's okay for a quick but overpriced meal. My dish was some boneless chicken in a broth with a few chickpeas dropped inside, it came with a side of rice. The chicken was really tender but at $18 was grossly overpriced. The broth (chicken fat) was very thin and added no flavor. The best part of the meal was the free hummus you get using the Yelp check-in. Maybe I should have ordered one of the hummus options instead but I'll never know 'cause I'm not interested in coming back. I can cook this at home for less than $5.00.
