Finally got a chance to head to hungry bowl and it was worth it! Heads up, they do take reservations but I overheard the hostess telling someone over the phone that they need to come in person to make their reservation and place a deposit. Otherwise, if you're willing to wait, you can come and put your name on the waitlist for that day. We came here on a Saturday pretty close to the time they opened and overall the average wait time was anywhere between 45 minutes to an hour and a half depending on your size of your party. Food wise, they offer a huge variety between the Mongolian Grill, sushi, and Korean barbecue. My personal favorite was the surf and turf sushi, and the bulgogi. They were very generous with the size of the fish. They served in the sushi rolls, and I also think the garlic shrimp was really good too. I was not too impressed with their appetizers compared to their other offerings. Despite ordering from the tablet, the service was amazing. Shout out to our server, David! He was constantly checking on us, making sure we were taken care of, but not overbearing. The food came out very quick and I would say on average we waited no more than 5 to 7 minutes after placing the order through the tablet. I would highly recommend hungry bowl if you're in the area or if you're with a large party of picky eaters or people who just like different things.

All you can eat for sure! The sushi was great and Mongolian is always amazing. Just be careful not to over sauce your food. Service is superb they are fast and polite. The pricing is more than fair. Everything is clean. Overall great experience.

We came to Hungry Bowl in Bowie for my wife's birthday dinner, and I'll say this right away, the Mongolian grill is the star of this place. There are a lot of options when building your bowl. Beef, chicken, shrimp, pork belly, onions, green onions, green peppers, mushrooms, and plenty more. You choose your base like lo mein, udon, rice noodles, white rice, brown rice, or fried rice and build it exactly how you want it. If you like customizing your food, this is definitely your type of spot. It's $29.99 for all you can eat and everything is included. We definitely left satisfied. If you come hungry and plan to try a little of everything, it feels worth it. Be prepared to wait. We had about a 1.5 hour wait and the place was packed. Luckily, it slowed down around the time we were seated, so it felt more manageable once we got inside. The atmosphere is loud and fun. It works for a date night, but it's also perfect for a big group. It's more lively than intimate. For sushi, we ordered the Naruto roll and it was really good. It tasted fresh and clean. The short ribs were decent, and the garlic chicken was solid, but I could have done without them. The Mongolian grill easily carried the experience for me. One thing I was not a fan of is how you leave your bowl on the counter after building it. You just set it there and walk away for the staff to grab. With limited counter space and several trays sitting there, it felt crowded. Even after it slowed down, there were still five or six trays waiting. People behind you end up shifting things around, and I am just not a big fan of walking away from my food while others are standing over it. I can see that area getting backed up quickly during peak hours. The restaurant was pretty clean. We came near the end of the dinner rush, and for that time of night it was still in solid shape. Our waitress was great, very thorough and attentive, and made sure we were taken care of the whole time. Overall, this is a great spot for people who like variety. Between Mongolian grill, Korean BBQ, and sushi, even a picky eater should be able to find something that works.

All you can eat sushi sashimi appetizers and bowls! How can you go wrong? The sauce selection is outstanding and everything is cooked to perfection. An absolute MUST if you're in the area!

Quick and easy ordering and fast service! Second time coming since they've had their liquor license so we've enjoyed coming more.

*Tiktok convinced me* I have frequented the surrounding area - being raised close and was more familiar when this establishment was Fridays but I am LOVING Hungry Bowl. There was a 2-hour table limit and it was perfect timing for my cousin and I. The concept of this restaurant is great, where you have the option to either order your meats, sushi, and appetizers a la carte and/or enter the 'grab & go' section of the establishment to grab your meats, sauces and sides. If all of this makes sense... anywayyyy what's important is that the TASTE is present in either choice that you make. I would love to go here again. On the way out you have the option to take your food to go for $7.99/lb which in the grand scheme of things is not a bad price. For two people our total with to-go weighed.. was roughly $70. So!...5 stars from me!

TLDR: Hungry Bowl is Bowie's go to spot for all you can eat sushi, Korean BBQ, and Mongolian stir fry under one roof. Expect a wait, but the system is efficient and the food is worth it. If you want to see where Bowie comes alive on a weekend, head to Hungry Bowl around lunchtime. We showed up at noon on a Saturday and the place was absolutely packed. Full capacity, buzzing energy, and a quoted 30 minute wait. Thankfully, their system is dialed in. They take your name and number and send you a virtual waitlist link that shows your place in line and estimated time. Our wait ended up being closer to 20 minutes, which felt very reasonable given how busy it was. Once seated, our waiter immediately came over and explained how everything works. Each table gets a tablet to order sushi, Korean BBQ, soups, salads, and apps. You also get a physical table card for the Mongolian grill station. That is where you walk up to a buffet line, load a bowl with raw ingredients, hand it off, and they stir fry it fresh and bring it straight to your table. The tablet menu is extensive. Specialty sushi rolls, bulgogi, Korean short ribs, fried apps, you name it. The Mongolian line is just as impressive with everything from fresh veggies to marinated steak, scallops, and shrimp. The sauce selection alone means no two bowls have to taste the same. We ordered about half a dozen sushi rolls, Korean short rib, bulgogi, and a few fried appetizers before heading to build our Mongolian bowls. By the time we finished at the grill station, our tablet order was already waiting at the table. Wicked fast service, especially for how slammed they were. The fried apps like calamari, shrimp, and katsu were solid but not something I would double up on. The real surprise was the sushi. Generous cuts of fish and some genuinely creative rolls. The surf and turf roll with torched steak over a spicy lobster roll was a standout and something you do not see everywhere. The Korean BBQ was also excellent. The bulgogi in particular was well marinated and delivered tender, savory bites with great umami flavor. When our Mongolian bowls arrived, they were piping hot and perfectly cooked. After finishing an 11 mile run at the gym earlier, this absolutely hit the spot. Overall, Hungry Bowl delivers variety, speed, and quality in a fun, high energy setting. It is a great choice for groups who cannot decide on one cuisine and an even better choice if you are looking to refuel after a serious workout. Definitely one of the hottest spots in Bowie.

My first time here and i enjoyed the speed and quality of the service here. food was SUPER fresh even the fish, crab, eggs and all the beef and chicken is so clean and prepped in front of you! The restaurant may have a long wait being that it's newer, but it's totally worth $55 and all you can eat! No excuse not to try everything on the menu as long as you can stomach it! Once the bar will complete the ambiance in there will go off! The music and staff are amazing

The place was definitely busy on a Saturday evening. Not great, but not the worst. Some things I enjoyed more than others. The place definitely gives the feel that they just opened and that they are still working on a few things. A definite plus was the variety of options for the buffet. On the more negative side, some of the sushi didn't taste fresh. In particular, the spider roll. It didn't taste or look like it contained real crab. Pro Tip: Check it out when it's cheaper for lunch and then go back if you enjoy it.

Parking: There is plenty of parking in the lot outside. Wait time: We had to wait a hour to be seated. They gave us link to see where we were in the waitlist. There was some shopping places across very close by, so we were able to go browse there to spend time while watching where we were in line. Food: it was unlimited for sushi, korean bbq and mongolian bbq. We were able to order sushi and korean BBQ from a little ipad looking thing. They had specialty sushi as well but it was included in the price; there was no up charge. I liked that the food came in small quantities, so we could try a lot of dishes. My favorite the korean short rib and shrimp tempura sushi. They also had some interesting sushi choices for those of us that like cooked sushi, like a lobster and steak roll. For the mongolian bbq bowl we went to an another section, where you could build a bowl to put your starch, vegetables, and meats. There were a lot of options, shrimp, squid, fish, zucchini, broccoli, different types of noodles (lots of options). We were able to out our table number down and go back to our table. Everything was brought to us cooked. Everything we tried was really flavorful. And our bill for 2 was around $63. We did want to take some food home and that was an additional $8.99 pound. It was a fun experience and we will definitely go back.

5 stars 5 stars 5 stars!!! This is AYCE and the pricing is extremely reasonable. We went on a Sunday and it was $29.99. On the weekdays I believe you can it for lunch time for $22.99. A steal these days! The selection across the board has something for everyone and also includes desserts. I unfortunately can't remember our waitresses name but she was absolutely top tier! It starts with understanding the process if you've been before, if not they will explain. To help you before you go, you get to order most sushi and apps from the iPad and the server for the rest. You then receive a card which you will place on your tray that gets handed to the cooks after you load up your bowl. This card is reusable to go for seconds. It allows you to check if you want rice/starch options or if you have allergies. You order your apps/sushi and go load up your bowl with all the goods. Noodles, vegetables, meat and poultry. One thing that threw me off which is now understandable but at the end they have seasoning for you to add to your bowl. Salt and pepper, Badia Complete, Badia Cajun, and Badia Lemon Pepper. We went with a mixture of complete and Cajun. After the sauces were also a lot of options, chili sauce, teriyaki, yum yum, soy, spicy chili, and more. It didnt take long for it to come back to the table. The only comment Ill make is with one line for self serve, you can run into people who are indecisive and take forever to add to their bowl. If there was a way to have two lines that met in the middle that might improve some of the slowness during peak hours. All in all, we'll absolutely make the drive back from DC to dine here again! += !!!

If you love Asian food, Hungry Bowl must be on your foodie list. They have Mongolian Grill, Sushi, and Korean BBQ. My husband and I stopped in last night and it was buzzing. They opened less than a week ago and a great addition to the Bowie area. It's basically all you can eat. You pay a price (lunch , dinner or kids price) and can throw down! You order appetizers through their menu and certain things like soups you order with your server. You then go to the grill to pick out your base like rice, noodles , veggies, then meat and sauces. Then you had it to the grill master who takes your order and server brings to your table. They don't serve alcohol yet. So, we ordered Pepsi products. I had Dr. Pepper. This is great for date night, groups, or a casual meal.

I know this place offers seafood and seafood boils but let's be honest if you're coming here,…read morethere's a good chance that you're here for the AYCE sushi! It's incredible! The pricing is great and it includes apps. The crab rangoons, mozz sticks, and gyoza are my favs! I enjoy the dinosaur roll and the crunchy roll as well! I would try other rolls bit a majority of them have avocado in them and I have an avocado allergy. Either way I find ways to get my moneys worth! I was a first timer and she's been once before. Given the name, I figured it was a seafood restaurant. Although some seafood is on the menu, Pier 99 is primarily a Sushi/Asian food restaurant. I think a name change should be in order.. Lol! I literally had to switch up my taste buds to partake in some sushi! I ordered a seafood boil because I couldn't switch them up fast enough while she ordered sushi. I actually love the concept because so many people aren't sushi fans but most folks get down with seafood! The food was actually good and they pulled off both cuisines effortlessly! My margarita was as good as any chain Mexican restaurant, so that was additional plus given the Mexican holiday. The interior is on the smaller side, however, they offer booth seating and it has a decent size bar. If I lived in the Upper Marlboro/Bowie area like I used to, I'd come here often but since I don't, I'll occasionally stop in when I'm in the area! Good job Pier 99!
