This coffee was probably one of the best iced coffees that Ive had in New York. I ordered the viral, honey iced latte. The foam was so thick, but it was enjoyable because it added a meaningful taste to the iced coffee and not in an overwhelming or empty way in which a lot of colds foams usually do. The actual coffee itself was perfectly sweet and milky, I didn't have to add any thing additional. Hungry Llama doesn't really try to get your attention. It sits quietly in the West Village, easy to overlook, except for the fact that it's always packed. When we stopped in for lunch, the place was buzzing with people waiting on takeout orders and others clearly in no rush to leave. We ordered to go, and for the most part, it delivered. The chicken club was flavorful, satisfying, and put together with care. The masala fries were less successful that contained a seasoning that didn't quite work and felt a bit off. My partner ordered the half grilled cheese with bone broth. The grilled cheese was solid and comforting, but the bone broth leaned too oily, losing some of the clean richness you want from it. A breakfast burrito passed by our table and looked tempting enough to file away for next time. We finished with a brownie, which was excellent and worth ordering. Though we took everything to go, the space itself felt calm and inviting, the kind of place you could easily imagine settling into for a longer meal. omg, the whipped honey latte actually 100% lives up to the hype!! my friend and i both got the iced whipped honey latte and loved our drinks so much, i will say it got better as we waited to drink it because the whipped honey melted into the drink and elevated the latte. if you like honey, you absolutely must get this drink! the cafe itself is super cute and has a lot of indoor seating options - on a weekend it's relatively busy so you may have to wait a little bit to get a seat. i've heard their food is delicious so will definitely be back to have this latte again and get some food read more

This review is long overdue!! I am from and live in California but whenever I am in New York, I HAVE to stop by at least once now at the Hungry Llama. I am friends with Chef Mark who oversees all the food menu items and his level of dedication to his food is SO OBVIOUS in every dish you order there. The breakfast burrito is to DIE for with his homemade hash brown inside (and it is probably the best burrito I've had hands down in my life which is a massive statement coming from California). The drinks here and coffee are also to die for. I had the honey whipped coffee and it was also probably one of the most unique and amazing coffee drinks I've had in a long time. Aside from the actual food and drink being top tier - the AMBIANCE IS EVERYTHING. If I lived in New York I would be here working a few days a week at least. This place combines the vibe of a chill coworking spot with amazing energy along with an outstanding coffee and food joint that will keep you going through long work blocs. As an entrepreneur who is always working but appreciates a good space, Hungry Llama ticks all of my boxes. There's nothing as good as this place back in California for me and so I have such high praise for what the owners Nitasha and Danny have been able to build here. Super cute coffee shop, reasonably priced and tasty coffee. Came in on a Saturday morning just before 9 and it was largely empty but they have a ton of tables inside and at least 5 outside so we snagged one outside. The server/barista was super sweet and gave my pup a treat as soon as we walked in. Service was fast and looks like they have a good selection of speciality coffee, pastries, snacks and beer and wine later in the day. Seems like they do breakfast and lunch food too. This place is such a neighborhood gem. Stumbled upon it while walking to the west side highway today. I had THE most amazing whipped honey latte with oat milk and vanilla. This latte is incredible you guys. Sweet without being overly sweet and the coffee quality is definitely there. The ambiance here is unparalleled. Great co working space (they allow laptops and have TONS of places to sit with comfortable chairs that don't require you to hunch over to sit and see your laptop), as well as space to meet with friends and catch up. The ambiance is set up nice to work out of with clear signs set up for WiFi as well as rooms in the back with closed doors you could take a meeting or call out of all. All the decor is really fun and eclectic and there are smaller tables as well tables for large groups. Featuring free range scrambled eggs similar to the Japanese take on slightly runny eggs on omurice, Chicken Apple Sausage, Grilled Zucchini and Sourdough Toast. Great food & drinks definitely not a bad remark there, 5 stars. But they are busy and maybe need to work on their order number system. Guy warned us ahead of time it'd take around 35 mins, but it took almost an hour to get our food. People who showed up 20mins after us got their food, same order, the breakfast burrito at the same time as us. The guy who ordered right in front of us got his 17-18mins before we did. Although he decided to bug the kitchen staff a couple of times which maybe we should have done. Anyways, if you go you will enjoy everything, I'd just have one person ask the staff about your order after they reach their time estimate and hover a bit . Drinks come out quick though! read more

Found this place near my hotel to work from and it was perfect! There's so much space indoors to work from there or even hangout. I got a chai and it was delicious. For some reason, there are two exhaust vents above the griddle that blow straight into the seating area and at you when you're standing in line. Not sure that's healthy, but my bigger problem is my eyes were burning and I left smelling like cooking oil. The lattes are okay .. I've had the honey one, which I remember being pretty good and the house chai with almond milk - it tasted pretty watery, which could've been from the almond milk but I've also had thicker almond milks before. It's also a huge pet peeve of mine when employees spray table cleaner all over the place and it gets on your food/drink. At a glance, I think this place is sooo cute and has great vibes, but between the exhaust vents and difficulty to find a comfortable chair (there are all different seats, which adds character, but I had to hop around like I was playing musical chairs to find one comfy enough to stay put in), this place might get crossed off my list :( read more

Nice cafe with unique decor and layout. Busy both times we've been - once for grab & go coffee and another for brunch. When busy it's pretty difficult to find a seat as there is no hostess and tons of people parked at tables on their laptops no longer eating or drinking. On our most recent visit this weekend for brunch we were told our food order would take 20 mins since they were busy, which was totally fine at the time. The food ultimately took more than 40 minutes (it was a simple bacon & egg sandwich) and there was no apology or "thanks for waiting" from the staff. The food and coffee was good but not great. We live right around the corner so we were hoping this could be one of our new go-to's, but unless they institute reasonable hours/limits for those with laptops so everyone can have somewhere to sit, I don't see us coming back often. read more
