The employees are pretty nice and they have a rewards/points program that you could sign up for that gives you some good deals. This place is all about SUPERBLY DELICIOUS ice cream made in a unique way I've never seen. Here is how it works. Go inside, you can pick plan vanilla or you can pick from a whole host of concoctions. We ordered the Ferrari. First, they put the Nutella, waffle cone pieces and chocolate syrup on this special flat top freezing thing and then they make the ice cream right in front of you. Slowly the ingredients gets mixed with the cream and magically this smooth creamy delicious delightful treat is created. Then they scrape the ice cream mixture with all the toppings off the flat top into seven or eight rolls. It doesn't stop there, we are then escorted to the topping stand and my oh my, more magic. They have all kinds of things to add. We added more chocolate syrup, whipped cream, almonds and popping bobo. I had no idea what a popping bobo was but they let me taste it and blam, I'm hooked. I arrived to icicles just now. To my surprise, the doors were locked and not one single employee was inside the establishment. The hours of operation say they are open from 2PM - 10 PM. It is currently 4:42 PM. I am very disappointed due to the fact I had brought my whole entire family here after raving about the ice cream quality. I been trying to try Icicles forever in San Jose, so when I found out they opened one in Sacramento I bookmarked it right away! Finally tried it tonight and it was one of the best delicious rolled ice cream I had in Sacramento/SJ! The Icicles location in SJ are always busy with super long lines, but I'm glad they expanded to Sacramento. I was surprised to see such a short line when I arrived at this location (the crowd started to come in after we ordered around 9pm). Ordered #10 Wake Me Up (hazelnut coffee) & #4 Bravaocado (fresh avacado). It cost $7.75 each with unlimited toppings. **$1 off if you check in on Facebook!** (I wish they had a offer for Yelp check-in too). Omg the rolled ice cream was super yummy and loved it at first bite! You can actually taste the flavors and doesn't taste artifical/nasty like other locations (Ice Panda, 16 degrees Farenheit, etc). There's a variety of toppings to select from and the fruit toppings tasted fresh too. The workers are super nice! When they are about to make your rolled ice cream they will yell your name, so you can watch them make and video record the process of making the rolled ice cream :) Once they are done making the rolled ice cream you can select all the free toppings and syrup you want! Everything is made super quick and it's always fun to watch your food being created in front of you. Overall, the store is spacious with plenty of seating and tables. There's even water cups available! Ice cream was tasty and I can see why this place is so popular and expanding everywhere! Customer service was excellent. Even one of the staff (I assume he's the manager/owner) walked by to make sure we enjoyed our ice cream and even checked up on the other customers. Walked into this ice cream parlor at 8 o'clock at night, with no patrons inside. No big deal let's see what the menu has to offer? Before I could order I was told to put on a mask even though the California mandate says that as of February 15 masks are not required for vaccinated people. I respect that it is a private business and that is their rule, so I asked them if they had a mask that I can wear. They told me no they do not, so I ended up leaving with no dessert. I don't know if their ice cream is trash, but their customer service certainly is. CDC says that if you are social distancing, and you're not in a common area for more than 15 minutes, and you're vaccinated, the chance of spreading this glorified cold is slim to none. Oh well. We needed to get out of the house for a little bit and what better way than to head over to an ice cream shop. We've heard great reviews about this place so we wanted to give it a try. Be forewarned, there are no tables and chairs outside for you to hang out and enjoy your ice cream. We hung out outside the shop and stood as we ate our ice cream. Flavors we ordered: Nutella and chill with whipped cream topping, Mint Oreo Blast, Time for Reeces and All Fudged up. Nutella and chill with the whipped cream topping had the right blend of nutella and banana with graham crackers mixed in and topped with whipped cream. The ice cream wasn't sweet at all which is a nice surprise since it did have nutella in it. Mint oreo blast is basically cookies and cream but with mint oreos mixed in. It has a custard base but you can't even taste it. It just tastes like a mint cookies and cream ice cream. The Time for Reeces is peanut buttery like a Reeces which is good if you like reeces in general. It was smooth and not sweet which is good in an ice cream that mimics the chocolate candy treat. And, last but not least, All Fudged up...I really like the name. hahaha. If you are a chocolate and a caramel lover, this one is a good choice for you. It has caramel, chocolate and brownie. It's all nicely blended together for this not so sweet treat. Everything was delicious and creamy and rolled into nice rolls that fit perfectly into our cups. My 7 year old enjoyed watching, from afar, the person making our treats. We would definitely come back again to try their other flavors. So many options. And, if you don't like what you ordered, tell them right away and they'll remake something else. Don't take advantage of them though. This is a nice gesture. read more
