For what it is, I HOP is a decent diner, especially for breakfast. I come here for the crepes/Swedish pancakes... but this visit my father had the Swedish Pancakes and I had the double monster burger (the idea being I would take half of it home for later). Mine came with a big pile of large cut onion rings and they were as well prepared as I could possibly have expected at an I HOP: crunchy with perfectly cooked rings of sweet onion inside. What a great excuse for catsup. My father's pancakes were good, but he compared them to his Swedish mother's, which was totally unfair to the Mexican cook. The server was a delight and attentive. Of course the place was virtually empty, being around 4PM, and she was doing everything herself from answering phones, to serving, bussing tables, and doing the side work on the food. We just had brunch at this location on a Saturday. It was really busy. We were blown away! I would like to recognize Brittany who was a warm and genuine hostess, Jorge for providing the most excellent customer service, and the person who made our meal (we don't know their names). It was the most delicious waffles and eggs because they were tasty and fluffy. My kids even said it was the best food they have had from an IHOP. I've been to a few IHOP's and the experience was always pretty subpar. However I really enjoyed eating at this location. Service was great, all the servers were really friendly. We were seated in a booth and it felt pretty clean. Tables and seats did not feel sticky and everything looked like it had been wiped down. They had funnel cake! As Breakfast! It was great love the bacon, not small, just right. Eggs, can't go wrong. FRIDAY NIGHT AT AROUND 7PM ON DECEMBER 8TH 2023. WORST SERVICE OF MY LIFE. Seated by a blonde woman who (quite rudely?) took our drink orders and once she gave them to us, did not tend to us ONCE. There was literally one other table with like 3 people but the rest of the restaurant was empty. After 45 MINUTES, we got up to leave and they brought us our food COLD. Christmas night at 6 pm and IHOP was open. I don't know what low IQ person scheduled only 1 server, but Dana was incredible. A full house and working it alone. Dana never made us feel as if we were intruding, but welcomed us warmly. Explaining being short staffed, she still managed to deliver great food and good coffee in a timely manner. All with a smile. Ordered the country fried steak & the corned beef hash with eggs. Food here is always on point when we go. To drink, we got a cold brew coffee & a lemonade iced tea. This was the first time we ordered those drinks, & they were tasty! The cold brew was subtle & milky. The lemonade iced tea had the perfect balance. Jasmine is a great server. She checked in on us periodically, had a smile the whole time. Near the end of our meal, she asked if we wanted another refill, but we told her we were leaving soon. It was my first time dining at this I Hop. The the staff is friendly (and funny). There's an ample amount of parking spaces, which is a plus compared to the Arcadia (Baldwin Ave) location. Breakfast food for dinner is always a nice change. I enjoyed the diner style hash browns and sausage. The bananas foster French toast brioche is a new menu item and tastes amazing! Very poor quality service! My waffle was cold and soggy! The butter was hard. I told the server that my waffle was of poor quality, she was "Sorry, do you want another one?" Hidden away under the shadow of their neighbor Walmart is my IHOP of choice. Why? The Arcadia location's parking situation stinks and interior spacing is more cramp. It wasn't too loud, but I wished it were a little softer. My mom thought the music was particularly loud in the restrooms. The location has an outdoor patio that runs parallels to the small side street IHOP resides on, which caught my eye on my last visit here. I didn't get a chance to scope it out properly, but it looks fairly pleasant and may request to be seated there next time. Service is rather attentive, which is a plus. The food is decent, as what you'll expect from most IHOPs. Nothing impressive. This time I had the chorizo & eggs, which I found wasn't very filling for the price ($8.99). It's certainly pricier than I'd like for my breakfasts. Our entrees costs about $7.99-8.99, though that's generally on the lower end of the menus there. Good thing we brought a BOGO offer from a local coupon magazine (Monrovia Quarterly), though it's one of those coupons that make you buy 2 drinks too ($2.49 each). Even taking into consideration the COVID issues, our service was absolutely terrible today. We sat down and within 10 minutes were able to order, but the food took an hour to get to us and most of it was cold by the time it was in front of us. The sad thing is most of the food tasted good, but the service was awful. Couldn't eat the scrambled eggs because they were cold and had completely dried out on the top and the pancakes were so cold the butter on them wouldn't melt. The crepes had started to harden around the edges and the butter on the crepes had melted and then started to harden again. We didn't send anything back because the food wasnt awful, and we didn't want to have to wait for them to remake everything so we could have hot food. Once we gave the waiter our card to pay, he walked around the outside area and talked to the bus boy and then took a bunch of orders, it was another 25 minutes before we got the card back and could leave. If ut had been super busy it would be more understandable but there were a bunch of empty tables in our area. We should have just ordered delivery, at least then it wouldn't have been a surprise that it was cold. read more

Oh so good! I haven't stepped foot inside an iHop since those debaucherous late nights in High School, and let me tell you, it did not disappoint! I ordered the Chicken and Waffles; it was cooked perfectly, and so delicious! The chicken strips were so crispy, as were the Belgian style waffles. Ordered my granddaughter funny face kids meal which comes with egg & 1 slice of bacon or sausage. Told waitress did not want the egg & she offered sausage. I said no I'll just take another strip of bacon. Order came I got 2 strips of bacon. Seems right until I got the bill. Charged kids meal than a funny face charge.I asked and she said she charged me for the extra bacon. Stating they would never substitute egg for meat. But I told her than why did you offer sausage when I said I did not want the egg. And if that is the case you should of said something as I would not pay $5 for a strip of bacon. The other server told me I should of received a total of 3 strips since I was charged. Still does not make sense to charge me $5 even for a side of bacon when online it says 3.99 for 2 strips. I paid the total but what got me the most is how someone can't admit to making a mistake and fixing it. I'll never come back to this ihop. So unprofessional. I have been to this IHOP a few times with my parents for dinner because it is close by and also the wait time to be seated is always pretty short. Service is actually pretty friendly and attentive when we sit in this one server's area. I do not remember her name, but she is rather heavy set and Hispanic. She is very friendly and always introduces herself to each table she is able to take care of. I like that you can always count on IHOP to offer breakfast all day. I have ordered their pancakes and egg breakfast and have always enjoyed it. But usually when you stray from their breakfast menu offering, you may get disappointed with what you ordered. But my parents are not picky people and usually like to order from the senior menu. My mom likes the wild rice here for some reason. Food is average (thus the 3 star rating) and service is friendly (especially when we sit in that one server's area). Pricing is pretty cheap. Wouldn't make a special trip out here, but if I was hungry and just wanted something easy for lunch or dinner, I wouldn't mind coming here and have breakfast. Parking is plentiful. IHOP is located in the same plaza with LaZ Boy. Plaza is also right across the street from Wal Mart. read more
