This location is very disappointing. I usually will only come in on Saturday mornings and the service is decent. The food either takes 5 minutes to come out, or 45. By far the worst iHop i've ever been too, food wise. I see that the servers are almost always making an effort to do their best which I admire, but the food is just not good. It doesn't taste like normal iHop food. The bacon is almost always undercooked, and the eggs are usually not prepared the way you ask. I know this can be a mix up in the kitchen, but every time i've been here it's been the same thing! I love iHop and it would be nice if the location closest to me was like the rest of the chain. The service here can be spotty, but Salvador is ALWAYS a great waiter, and he'll come and seat you if he sees you waiting. The wait here can be an issue. If the place is crowded, like on the weekends, you'll wait around 10 minutes for a seat. But if the place is empty you might end up waiting longer - I once waited 15 minutes to be seated despite there being only 2 other customers! They need better coverage of the check in desk, but since they got a new floor manager I've seen real improvements (writing this 11/19). Update - I eat out for breakfast a lot, and have been trying a number of other restaurants lately. IHOP is actually better than most of the places I've tried in Frisco. In my opinion, this is the worst IHOP ever and it is getting worse each time. I walked in with a friend waited, waited, waited and not one person was manning the hostess station; this was on a Sunday! I finally walked around and found the manager Adam Patterson, which thought denial was a river in Egypt. I wouldn't trust him managing my automatic water sprinklers for my yard. He claimed they were open, but no one was around. There wasn't a host, no one was looking out for new customers and this was the 3rd time this has happened to me and my friend it happened to him twice. The service is sloppy when you get seated and the order is often wrong. This is in stark contrast to the IHOP by Stonebriar mall. They are so packed there is a waiting line, but it is worth it. The food comes out right, fast, and hot! This makes me want to open a petition to have the city close down these shops that do nothing for the city but bring it down. Save your money, go somewhere else and if you see a manager with the initials AP at another restaurant question it. I tried to reach the regional manager by the way, and they didn't return the call or try to contact me in anyway. A 40 minuet wait for pancakes at the international house of pancakes!!!! Ridiculous! Service was terrible, ordered a rooty jr pancake breakfast with no eggs because my son is allergic. The meal is supposed to include a pancake, bacon, sausage and egg. In place of the egg we asked for an extra sausage link. When the food arrived 40 minuets after placing our order.... it had a pancake and two sausage links (no bacon). When we got the bill we were changed an extra dollar for that one sausage link that was supposed to replace the egg.... doesn't add up at all especially since we didn't receive his whole meal to begin with. Pancakes were also complete rubber as well as the hashbrowns had a weird plastic taste to them. Miserable everything for a chain breakfast restaurant. DONT WAISTE YOUR TIME HERE! We have given this IHOP location so many chances to improve but after a year, nothing has changed. ONLY reason we keep going back is the proximity and our optimism that something will change if there are enough complains but apparent nothing has, based on the many negative reviews. To get 1 1/2 stars out of 5 for a restaurant screams disaster. Every single time we've visited, they take more than 10 mins to seat us and many times the staff walk by without even acknowledging us! As if that's not bad enough, we get food that's prepared in the back kitchen by cooks who simply have given up and take absolutely NO PRIDE in preparing it. I get it we are not at a fine dinning establishment but it's principle for me. I am more than happy to pay for a well prepared meal and breakfast isn't hard to make but what makes me upset is if you have the audacity to charge for a product or service, please have the integrity to deliver it - doesn't matter if it costs you $1 or $100 a plate. Sadly, that's not the philosophy of THIS IHOP location. I have literally given up on ordering ANY hash browns at this location as the last straw was last week when they served literally INEDIBLE hash that I could tell was STALE. Regular potato smells fragrant when you fry it and yes, I do make hash browns at home frequent enough to tell the difference but as soon as it came to the table, it smelt weird, took a bite and spat it out, horrible. The pancakes came out dry as well. IHOP is known for good pancakes and if they can't even get their signature dish right, something is really wrong here. We decided to try a different IHOP down by Preston Rd as the Yelp reviews were much better but we wanted to find out for ourselves and indeed, Yelp did not fail us. World of difference in terms of customer service and food!! Well worth driving the additional miles and that's highly recommended if you truly want a more positive experience and get your money's worth for food that's at least FRESH. Mind you, we went at 9:30pm at night and even though it wasn't peak period but yet the cooks took the effort to prepare a great meal - pancakes were fluffy, the hash was wonderful and the meats were fresh. We were all so pleased with the overall experience that we tipped our server double and returned a few days later! My daughter and her friend went in at 10am this morning. They were served water, waited 30 minutes patiently and never had a server come get there ordered so they left. I feel not only was that disrespectful towards my teenage daughter and her friend but as them being guests they should have been served. Jan 24, 2021 - I choose out of an array of options to show patronage to the Frisco, TX IHOP located at 9509 Dallas Pkwy, Frisco, TX 75034. Using the IHOP app not a third party to avoid any issues at pickup I placed my order for my 3 kids and I - this process started at 10:30am. I was sent a confirmation with a pickup time of 10:50am, I arrived and had check in by 10:45am. Upon arrival I noticed that there were several parties standing outside the lobby waiting to be seated and thus expected a reasonable delay to be communicated via app or employee since I was checked in. During my wait there another customer also waiting for her order prior to my arrival got out her vehicle and knocked on the window nearest to the hostess station to remind them she was waiting, approx. 3 min later they delivered her food. By 11:00 I called the location which now had a clear lobby and 2 employees could be seen interacting at the hostess station and the call rolled after a few attempts to voicemail. At 11:05 I entered the location in which I had to get the attention of the wait staff and requested to speak to the manager on duty. A few moments later I had to complete this process once again since no one showed up. After the second attempt Ramon finally presented himself and stated he was the manager and did not have time for me because he had to cook for everyone seated in the restaurant or they would be mad and that's his focus. He then stated that I needed to leave because he was not in the mood for this and walked back into the kitchen. I requested the staff have him come back to refund my order since I no longer wanted nothing but a refund receipt from this representation of IHOP. Ramon returns even more aggressive advising that I was an embarrassment to myself and that I needed to leave his restaurant because this is not what I want to do, now at this point I have been Chastised and threatened by a IHOP manager for merely being a customer. He also stated that he was not going to provide any contact information for corporate management/complaints and neither would his staff. Before he exited this time, he gestured that I better leave as he attempted to intimidate me with threat of law enforcement and instruction that I can return after 4 pm to have the refund considered. This was the final point of disrespect and resulted in myself contacting FPD to assist before this issue escalated further. Within moments they arrived and the officer advised that he would attempt to de-escalate the situation and get the necessary information to file a grievance and provide a refund. The officer entered alone and returned to provide what little information he was able to get from Ramon, and advised that he too could sense the hostile mode and had to advise the hostile tone was unnecessary and has led to an avoidable escalation. One in which he mentioned in different environments, persons, or temperaments this could easily have turned into a criminal situation. I was requested to return to the location after 4pm to have the refund process and I left the location and IHOP lost this lifelong customer at approximately 11:45 am. The refund confirmation was received just before 1pm. If this is what represents IHOP's newest brand perspective at a time when eating out is truly a luxury in a great number of American families. I can definitely say I respect myself too much to hand my money to any company that allows this to transpire. read more

Visited IHOP in Frisco Dallas Pkwy on 08/21/2021 7pm today. Will never to go back to this place. Horrible and inconsiderate staff. When asked when the food will be ready, they keeps you hanging by saying the food will be ready in 10 min, and yet no food showing up for an hour. Manager hides in the kitchen and refuses to come out to address any issue. The restaurant is not even half full and other people are leaving because they are tired of waiting. Understaff is one issue, but not telling the truth to customers that the food may not be ready for an hour is bad practice and immoral. In the end, customers are frustrated and requesting refund. All these could be avoidable if they plan capacity appropriately and be honest with customers on the waiting time. As we walk out the store hours are posted on the door and they close at 12. We then let the lady know your posted hours say 12 and then she says this is not our problem we should of came in earlier. I've tried this one three times and each time it's a total failure. Last time the waiter forgot to order food for one of my kids, the other kid had undercooked pancakes...today our family of 5 went and pretty much every piece of food was cold. Not lukewarm, COLD. Our kids didn't complain about it and after how difficult it was to deal with the manager last time, we just kept our mouths shut. Our waitress today was GREAT. She was very sweet- and we just mentioned at the end that she may want to let them know all of our food was cold. I haven't been to an IHOP in years so I thought it would be fun to take the kids there for pancakes. Boy was I wrong. After being seated it took 16 minutes for our server to come by to take drink and meal order. Then we didn't get drinks until 10minutes later. With drinks it took her 3 trips too because she could not remember what our drinks we had. My poor daughters hot cocoa didn't come out until with the food. 2 of the forks at the tables had dried food on them and we had to ask for new ones. The service was extremely slow and bad. We never got refills on our drinks and barely saw our waitress. We ordered 3 kids meals which they ate. My omelet was just ok not spicy for being a poblano omelet which said it was spicy. my husband's biscuits and gravy were ice cold and his eggs way under cooked. When it came to pay server dropped off our check but 21 minutes later never came back to collect it. We actually took it up to the front desk because we just wanted to leave. Then they found our waitress and gave her our check and loudly told her we were upset in front of everyone. The restaurant was filthy besides the dirty tableware. We went to use the bathroom afterward and I almost puked thinking I ate at this place that had the worst restrooms I have seen. Floors looked not cleaned in weeks and had a horrid smell in there. I went into the location on the Tollway & Main St in Frisco. There were 7 of us in our party. We arrived at 1028pm. There were two Servers at the front desk. There were three tables that had people Eating in the main dining room, a 4 top, a 2 top and another 2 top. No one had their food yet. There was a large party in the back room. We asked for a table For 7 and the two young ladies said we are closed. I said "the hours on your website show you are open till 12:00am." They both said we still aren't seating anyone else. I said are you taking to go orders? They said no we are closed. Both were super rude. I asked to speak to the manager not knowing that she in fact may be the most condescending human to deal with. She was beyond rude. As she was embarrassing herself one of her servers named Stuart overhear the discussion and he came up and said "I'll take them" and Angela, His manager said no you want, and he said yeah I don't mind,I tell you Stewert?" Stuart has just fallen Minnesota star table. At the same time Angela was in the background yelling at Stewart through the dining room, in front of all of the customers. Very unprofessional and made everybody very uncomfortable. Stewart was not listening to her, and said he was focused on making sure that we were taken care of. When he got back to the kitchen she was blatantly yelling and chastising him for taking this table in front of everyone. This was the most unprofessional and rude encounter I've ever had with anyone at any time in my whole entire life. This woman, Angela should be fired and session 2 girls were at the front desk we're trying to deny service to us. If you're only open till 11 o'clock put that on your website don't have 12 o'clock I suppose time. And if you do happen because she's a more professional way to tell the customer the standing in front of you. You need to reprimand one of your boys do it in your own office and not in front of the whole entire dining room.
