Went to this IHOP as the other restaurants in the area were absolutely packed and waiting times were over 1 hr. But this restaurant was close to empty. Now I know why. It took the wait staff, if there even was a wait staff over 20 min to seat us with close to no one else in the restaurant. Finally when we were seated it took another 15 min before our order was taken. Still there was maybe 1 other family in this place waiting. 1 hour goes by before our appetizers were brought out. Dry and somewhat warm we recieved the appetizer, it felt like it sat under a heating lamp for 30 min of the 1 hour it took to deliver to us. Then 10 min later the waiter brings us everything we didnt order. We explained that what we got was not what we ordered and the guy just walked away from us. I requested a manager seeing as how we were going on 1 1/2 hour now. The manager said that he would fix the problem and pay for our meal. Still, again the wrong food was brought out to us. At this point we were pretty disgusted and walked out. I get it that "covid" has been problematic. However, when you have a full staff of workers and nobody else but maybe 1 other table to serve and still cant get it right, there is a bigger problem there than just the covid excuse. I WOULD ADVISE YOU NOT TO GO HERE. Typically I go to the IHOP location on Wells Branch, but since this one was new and a little bit closer, we decided to go here. Terrible idea. The one on Wells Branch has terrible service, but this one was worse. They just opened. This was a Sunday, we wanted IHOP since we love breakfast. We always got terrible service, so we typically get the Pick-up option. We called in at 4:33PM and we arrived at about 4:47PM. Since they said it would be ready in 15 to 20 minutes. NOTE: It wasn't busy, the parking lot was BARELY half full. When we went in, and told them we ordered on the phone. They told us it'd be an additional 15 to 20 minutes. - I doubt they even MADE our order. We paid for the meal and waited. Once we waited, they finally brought out the order. We're not leaving without checking because many places give us the wrong order if we don't check them ourselves. We checked, and they messed up our order completely. We paid for the meal and they give us half of what we got. We asked for a refund, but they said it was too late since they already charged us? After an additional 15-20 minutes, we finally get our order and we finally get to leave after about an hour of waiting. This was a PICK UP ORDER. We left, and when I got home the desert that I ordered was missing a lot of cream as well as the ice cream. HIGHLY disappointed in the service that I received since when we got home the food had already gotten cold, since we had to wait an additional 15 to 20 minutes for the rest of the food. I called the manager and demanded a refund and told him all of this. He seemed to be a generally unpleasant guy from the tone of his voice. However, he did say that a refund would be given and didn't really give me any details about it and then hung up. I'm typically a generous tipper if they give me good service or at least do their jobs right. If they gave me an attitude, but did everything correctly. This would've been much better than the CRAP service that we got. This was terrible terrible service. The WORST experience I've had. I never plan on returning to this IHOP. This was PURELY ridiculous. In my opinion, the IHOP on Research Blvd is far better. I don't know what's wrong with the Wells Branch or the one of Limestone. Always terrible service, but this one has been the WORST experience of all. We've told many people of the service and told them not to go. WORST IHOP EXPERIENCE EVER. ***Edit:*** I DID NOT receive the refund the manager said I would receive. I placed in a dispute. I am never returning to this IHOP. Bobby had to have been arguably the best waiter I've had to date. Normally I order a soup before a main entree to keep myself busy because if you know the IHOP I know, it takes ages to actually get your food out. Busy or not! We came for one of the kid's birthdays. Customer service was bad and not prompt at all- one employee came to us, spoke to us briefly, and then continued to serve other people to the point that another employee had to sit us instead, as he didn't come back. All employees greet you with a very slack face, no smile or friendly conversation, just muttering so we couldn't hear. We asked for some mousse to be "lighter" on one of the pancake plates and it came as a side instead. One of the burgers were very dry and the fries were soggy. Fool Me Once, Shame on You... Fool Me 5x I Must Be An Idiot We went first to this IHOP on opening weekend. It was packed, and service was awful, slow, and the food was subpar for IHOP standard. We chalked it up to opening pains. The server offered us a discount on our meal before we even complained because she knew it was bad. Second time was the next month mid-week during lunch. We were sat and then promptly ignored for 20 minutes until I tracked someone down then we were treated to huffy lackluster service, wrong food, and no one to tell about it since we couldn't even get a different server to find a manager. In the end another invisible manager that never spoke to us knocked like 10% off which was not enough. Third time was around Thanksgiving when my smallest had a dr appt and really wanted pancakes. We went again during a school day. His pancake had bitter burnt stuff stuck to the bottom of it and my Tbone and eggs was nearly inedible . We got our food before our drinks, and the server took the time to complain about how little training they get whilst picking the scabs on his face. I ended up throwing down approximate cash after waiting 17 minutes for a check after asking. Fourth time we went for my teen daughters birthday because that was what the group wanted. Service was ok, food was all lacking something or slightly wrong but fixable. Ticket came out on time but we were charged for food we didn't order and weren't charged for food we did. Took me going to a servers station and helping them figure out our real order to get it right. Last ( and 5th) time we went was Sunday after church time. I will admit this isn't the first time we have gone there after church, but the first time we stayed. I don't know why on earth they designed a brand new ihop so small. The waiting area is miniscule, and the ateroom is useless. Also the way that the doors swing open make 1/4 of the space unusable for waiting and impossible for people to form a line to check in and also let people be able to come in and our of the door. Everytime we have gone after church the wait is 45m+ and there are unhappy, uncomfortable people crammed in inside like sardines or standing around outside because there is no adequate space or benches. So we stayed because the kids begged. We were sat by the bathroom server station area and were treated to a a server who actually asked us to pause ordering so she could scratch/pat her weave/wig thing because it itched. Food was bad again, service was bad... seriously. We paid full price just to get out of there. So at this point you wonder why we kept going back. Hope that it would get better, I guess.... Having a new little IHOP right near your house and you have little kids is a big draw. They see it every time we grocery shop at Target. From the space/design to the food to the service, everything has been a disappointment. I told the kids we are going to go back to driving to the one on 35 near Parmer. Even if that one is old, the food is good and the service is fine. I am out of IHOPE for this IHOP. read more

First off, IHOP is one of my favorite regular places to eat, especially for having breakfast for dinner. We usually drive in to Round Rock to the location there, but decided to try this new location. We were seated fast because there weren't many customers. Got our drink order relatively quickly, but from there everything crawled along. Once we ordered food it took forever to get it, which had they been busier I would understand, but at that point, there were only two other couples in the whole restaurant. While we were waiting we noticed a wad of paper on the floor that every employee stepped over or around, until finally one of the waitresses cleaning a table walked by it and kicked it into the kitchen area. Also noticed trash under several of the tables around us. I know they had plenty of staff on hand that night because all of them were congregated behind a wall where their register or drink station was located. They were all extremely talkative and loud for a good 10-15 minutes. I know with the trash present that there were a lot more constructive things to do around the restaurant that just chat time. We finally got our drinks refilled when the waitress brought our food. The food itself was off a bit, just didn't seem to taste the same. I always order a Country Omelet minus the onions with 3 buttermilk pancakes. The pancakes weren't as soft and fluffy as they normally are and the omelet was dry or maybe just a little bit over-cooked. There was a couple that were seated across from us right before we left. The manager came right over to their table and asked if they had been in before and almost as if reciting a script, they answered yes, but that it hadn't been a very good experience. Without skipping a beat the manager told them their meal would be on the house. Seemed a bit weird since they really didn't raise a big stink and because the pause between asking and action were next to nil. Kinda felt like she was just offering a free meal to a friend. She never once, in the hour that we were there, stopped by our table to see if everything was going well with us nor looked our way. Maybe we'll give this location another chance in a few months when most of their staff have rotated out and their kitchen has learned the right IHOP way to make their food. Really? 2 hr wait times, personnel not trained to work expedite orders and buss tables timely, and the manager keeps apologizing and giving us reason why they're service is so awful. We went today on what appeared to be a slow night. More than half tables were empty yet we still had a 15 minute wait to be seated. Hmm. The hostess apologized and took our name and gave some lame excuse about trying to keep everybody organized. Really? Most of the tables were empty and it was 8pm. Not exactly rush hour. From where we were sitting we had a good view of the kitchen and a big sign saying "if it is no perfect don' serve it." This is rather ironic because even after a long wait to be seated at a mostly empty restaurant things proceeded to go south. Evidently things were going so wrong that night that the manager on duty was double checking every table. This was a good thing. First our tea arrived and it was WAY too sweet. I know everybody has their preferences but this tasted like liquid tea flavored syrup. We asked for not sweetened tea. Our server came back and questioned this. Was tea too sweet he asked? People had been saying that all night he told us. Hello! Make a new batch! Then our meals were taking forever to come out. The server explained that my order was complicated. I asked for my eggs over easy. It is a little more trouble to make but if you are going to make eggs for a living you should be able to do it. Evidently mine broke. It happens if you are a novice. I don't know if the cook was going to try and pawn off scrambled eggs on me thinking I would not notice but the server did and had the cook remake the eggs. Really? A restaurant that specializes in serving a breakfast menu can't cook eggs to order? It can't get worse right? Wrong. I had to call the manager over to listen to my pancakes. Yes listen. I picked one up and hit it several times with my knife. You could hear a loud thumping sound like I was knocking on a door. She apologized and got us new orders. Apparently things went from bad to worse in the kitchen. The manager went back there to try and expedite orders and eventually she gave up and went back in the kitchen and started making everybody's food herself. read more

While I love IHOP this location seriously suffers from a lack of staff. On a Wednesday evening there is no staff to answers phones or get food out on the table. This is a constant issue here as this is probably the 4th or 5th time this has happened. It's not even that crowded, no service, no food!!! read more

Had dinner here with the family last night. The food and service was fine. I ordered ice water as my drink with the meal. The water had an odd taste in the beginning of my meal and I thought it was just me. I drank more from the glass at the end of my meal and the odd taste had become stronger as the ice had melted in the glass. The odd taste stayed with me for several hours after leaving the restaurant. Now wondering what I ingested. read more

Visited this location for the first time, and I doubt I will go back to this particular Ihop again. Things started out good. Very busy Sunday morning, but we only waited about 10 minutes to be seated. Not too shabby! Our server took our drink order right away and came back with them quickly and then took our food order. Pretty typical experience up to that point, and that's were it ended. We waited over 45 minutes for our food to show up and when it did everything was cold. Not one food item was even slightly warm! My pancakes were hard, and I could barely cut through them. I have never had that happen at an Ihop before. I have no clue if this was a kitchen issue or a server one, but unacceptable either way. Our server never apologized for the slow service, and seemed to make herself pretty scarce during our visit. read more

I was hoping that the next time around would be a better experience, but it wasn't. Our first time, we ordered kids chocolate milks, and when the oldest didn't like the taste of it, I took a sip only to find the milk was soured. They were apologetic and brought her something else. Lesson learned...check out your child's drink before they do! Today, my silverware was dirty with some type of dried green stuff on the fork (front & back) and the knife with some burned black stuff. I had to hunt someone down in order to get a clean set, no apologies given. Then my toast was stale, and smelled & tasted moldy though I didn't see any. The server only checked on us once and they were not yet busy. Lesson learned...don't go back!!! For a fairly new restaurant, this one shouldn't be this bad. We got seated right away ordered our food quickly then it took about 30mins to get our food which half of it was cold looked like it had been sitting for awhile. Not happy and on mothers day along with a breakfast birthday also. This location is the only ihop we have had this issues with and this is the 2nd chance we have given this location. I genuinely really enjoy IHOP. Food is great and service is fast. However... on one Monday morning after an extremely long flight, I put in a phone order on my way back home and as I went to go pick it up at about 545am on 11/14, a young woman (in a orange tshirt)...who worked supposedly every Monday... was upset that she wasn't on the schedule that day and started chewing the manager out and the other young woman working already. The cook then had to come out of the back and yell..."Am I going to be serving and cooking around here?!" This was something that really should've never happened. Terrible... I made an order online for pick up on Christmas cause not many places were open . When I went to pick up my order I noticed a couple items were missing right away & they gave it to me , no biggie ... But when I got home my husband noticed his order was a completely different order so I had to go back up there . Being 9 months pregnant, it's 1 am & it's Christmas you'd think they'd provide better customer service for their mistakes. Instead when I told them to remake my order & add extra cheddar they said ok & came back with the fixed order letting me know it'll be extra charge for extra cheddar so they didn't put it . Be careful getting anything with chicken they like to serve it still raw when it's in an omelette. I guess they don't look at it before it's served. My husband and I have been here several times and I feel like they got better around the holidays but since have gotten far worse. They will skip you on the list and say they called you. If you go in early they will be empty and every table will be dirty like they haven't cleaned anything all night. And the floor is always greasy feeling. You will wait forever for your order even if it's slow. And your server may leave and not come back. This ihop needs to get their act together because they will start losing business if they don't. read more
