We just landed in San Jose on a Friday morning and found iJava via Yelp..party of 13 please.. iJava Service and ambiance: They are located next to a freeway so the parking is limited and the size is a mom & pop cafe. Natural wood colors and pendant lighting gives off an clean Ikea like feel. The staff was awesome as they pushed together multiple tables to seat our party of 13. The kitchen got all our dishes out to us quickly. iJava Cuisine: All the dishes we ordered were prepped perfectly with very fresh ingredients. I started off with the salmon toast and it was tasty. The bread was on the smaller side so it was a perfect appetizer for me. I went with the short rib burrito and it was delish. They were very generous with the short rib stuffing and the cheese, spices, etc were in perfect proportions for maximum taste. Highly recommended. The salmon panini, breakfast burrito and the chicken salad were sampled and all were on point. Every dish ordered in the group was good or great. It was completely random that we found iJava right at the beginning of our road trip to Paso Robles but we are glad we did. If you get the chance, definitely swing by for their tasty dishes. I really love this place normally, but this is a warning to anyone ordering doordash or delivery from here. I ordered a breakfast burrrito today, and I put in the notes asking if beans could be added to the fully loaded burrito (some of the burritos have beans, this does not). I figured they probably either wouldn't do it, or it may result in a 1 or 2 dollar upcharge. After my order was completed, I was charged an additional $8!!! For beans! Maybe $.15 worth of beans. Its unbelieveable i would be charged the cost of 10 cans of beans. Honestly, these after the fact charges should be illegal, but at least charge a reasonable fee. Beware any making any changes. You could end up paying $30 for lettuce with no recourse. On the plus side, burrito was delicious. read more

What a great breakfast spot this is. Came here for a sunday brunch and was not disappointed. This location Is located in a weird spot, nestled in a neighborhood in front of a freeway entrance. Parking is on the street, but there was plenty available. The restaurant inside was new and cozy looking, it definitely has that neighborhood cafe feel. We ordered the chilaquiles, the fully loaded breakfast burrito, an iced coconut cream latte and a hot toffee latte. Portions are generous and you can tell they use fresh ingredients. The chilaquiles were crispy and didnt get soggy in the sauce. They were a little spicy, but not too overpowering. The egg was perfectly runny and the beans were a nice complement. The burrito was perfectly wrapped and toasted and filled with all sorts of goodies. It was a nice hearty breakfast with potato, bacon, and egg. The chipotle crema was good as well. As for the lattes, the iced coconut cream latte was good and my girlfriend loved it. The toffee latte was good too, very delicious, I just wished at had some foam. There wasn't any foam at all for a latte. I think the food and coffee are hard to beat though, i had an amazing breakfast and couldn't have had a better start to my day. Was looking for a healthier brunch spot while visiting. iJava had great options! They have an array of burritos, crepes, smoothies, etc. They also have indoor and outdoor seating. Staff was super friendly, the food was delicious, BUT parking can be tough. We got the Chicken Pesto crepe and the Mexicali Burrito (w/ chicken added in). Both were really filling and not too heavy. Side note - Their marketing guy was working the weekend and he was so friendly despite how busy they were! Lol Parking can be really tough. We came here twice during the weekend. They had limited parking spots and and the streets around barely had any available parking. We found parking on Delmas, but walked a little bit. Wish I had her name to give a proper review but I had asked for any latte recommendations and she suggested the pistachio or coconut crème latte, she prefers the pistachio one over the other though. She even was able to take a picture of my mother and I when we asked, pictures came out great! Eventhough I've worked and lived in the area I dunno how this hidden gem got past me! Just walking in this is a perfect little shop. There is a full menu offered for breakfast and lunch! I usually never leave reviews but I had an upsetting experience in this cafe today. My friend and I came in today around 1pm to study and drink some coffee. Today was my second time going to iJAVA and was not aware what time they closed. Meanwhile i'm studying I can hear one of the cooks making many comments in spanish about my friend and I to the lady that takes orders (unaware that I can understand what he was saying). That whole time I was there no one had let me know that they were closed or closing soon. It's pretty rude to be talking about a customer thinking they won't understand just because he was speaking in another language. TL;DR: Good food, but painfully slow wait times for simple orders. Too expensive for quantity of food. After 4.5 years of working within walking distance of iJava and eating there probably on average once or twice a month, it's come time for a review. First off, let me say I think the food is pretty good- there's some more unusual mixtures of ingredients that definitely is original. You are going to have a hard time finding some of these flavors elsewhere, even though the entrees are not that uncommon. The ambiance is nice for a slow weekend morning, and it's nice they have a shaded outdoor eating area. That's about it. I don't take time to write reviews typically, but I'm fed up - even if this is the only place that's open within walking distance when I occasionally work on Sundays. Their worst flaw? Consistently and painfully slow. Even when I place an order ahead of time online, I still end up waiting 10-15 minutes after walking in at my pre-determined pick up time (which at a minimum is 20 minutes). I don't have a long time to wait- lunch breaks aren't just endless free time! My orders aren't even complicated! Usually a burrito and ice tea, that's it. 45 minutes from order to my hands is too long for a burrito! I end up spending nearly $18-19 dollars with a 15-20% tip. The entrees always leave me hungry, and their "large," $4 unsweetened plain ice tea is only 20oz (with lots of ice of course). Ridiculous. 6/7 days during the week, I can walk to Jalapeño Rojo and get a 32oz ice tea for $3. (BTW, I get a filling veggie burrito and large ice tea for $11.00 with a 20% tip at jalapeño, just up the block on San Carlos). Beyond that, they have issues with their menu - lots of items that are posted on their in store menu are not available, and haven't been for over a year, maybe even 2. More than a few times I've received the wrong size drink (evidence in attached photo from a previous, unchanged order), but I don't even bother getting it fixed because I've already waited so long that I don't have time to deal with their staff. Sorry to skew so negative, but something has to change if I'm going to be a patron again. Eating at iJava is just not worth it from a financial, time, or hunger perspective. read more

We were in downtown San Jose a few weekends ago for a wedding and were surprised how dead it was in general (it was our first time there) so there weren't too many brunch options on a Sunday but we were glad we chose this place! It's not in the greatest location, it's like on the corner right off of a freeway entrance/exit and there wasn't much of anything else around. But walking in it was quite busy. We ordered at the counter and decided to sit outside in their outdoor seating (a few tables) since it was busy and a little stuffy inside. You're literally sitting off a sidewalk with cars driving by so it's not the most pleasant but since it was a Sunday it wasn't too bad. I ordered the taco salad with chicken and it delicious! A lot bigger than I thought it would be and even though I came in very hungry, couldn't finish it. They have a pretty large menu so would be a good place to check out! read more

We ordered: - Fully Loaded burrito [$10.50]: I really liked how the fully loaded burrito had turkey bacon instead of pork bacon as I find pork bacon typically makes burritos quite greasy and too heavy half way through. - Smoked Salmon Toast [$9.95]: very generous amounts of salmon and eggs were perfectly cooked. this might be slightly better if we ate it on the spot rather than bringing it home/taking time for pictures lol. - Pistachio Latte [$4.95] sub oat milk [$1.50]: I was a bit thrown off on the cost of subbing regular milk with oat, but note they currently have a yelp check-in deal 2 entrees get 1 latte free, so my latte was actually on the house - thank you so much iJava! I got the Mexicali in bowl form and my sister got the chicken katsu burrito. *Yelp check-in offer!*: free latte with purchase of 2 entrees so we shared an xtreme toffee latte. Also wanted something from the baked goods case and got an oatmeal ginger cookie. The Mexicali bowl was pretty tasty. Quality ingredients. No nonsense additives. I felt "clean" eating it lol. My sister wasn't too fond of the chicken katsu burrito. I tried some of it and maybe it's because of the blend of overpowering flavors of kimchi, katsu sauce, and chipotle sour cream, but the whole thing had like a rich, almost-bbq-sauce-like taste to it. Flavor bomb in a strange way. I didn't hate it, but it was something I wasn't expecting. As for the xtreme toffee latte.....smoooooth coffee. As someone who doesn't drink coffee often because of the taste I really enjoyed this one. Very creamy as well. Contrary to the drink name, the toffee taste wasn't too sweet/strong and actually complemented well with the coffee. Definitely recommend this drink. Regarding the dessert (if the latte wasn't dessert-y enough), the oatmeal ginger cookie was a tad too sweet for my liking and I didn't taste much ginger. I liked how soft it was though. ijava cafe was a nice spot near the outskirts of DTSJ. Came here for a quick lunch and was pleasantly surprised by the lax vibes here and good food. I order the pork breakfast burrito and it was delicious. I comes with eggs, spinach and chipotle sauce with the pork. I would have liked to see more meat, but overall I enjoyed the meal. I also got a free signature drink (which is anything on the drink menu) from my yelp check in :) Cappuccino was great as well. Parking here is only street parking. There are 4 spots at the back of the cafe but one spot is only designated for the cafe. There is ample street parking, but beware one has to parallel park!
