I had heard il bambino was good but I was severely disappointed from the moment I walked in. After standing at the door for 2 minutes, a waiter simply pointed at a table, no hello, no welcome, nothing. After we got the menus we had to wait 10 minutes to order, at which point we had to order our drinks, appetizers and main course all at once, since we didn't want to risk waiting another 10 minutes. The only reason this review isn't a 1 star is because the food was actually okay, not spectacular, but not terrible. Throughout the meal Noone came up to pick the plates from the salads and appetizers, nor refill our drinks. I actually had to get up and go to a store next door to buy 2 bottles of water so I could drink some water with my meal. Long story short, don't bother going to this place. read more

My family & I have been dining at Bambino since Nick was the Owner. It's been a good 20 years. Came to have dinner and to my surprise children plates are not allowed to be ordered for take-out. Which I find very wrong and discriminatory. Legally, if you want to classify your restaurant for only adults then the children's menu should be removed and it should be stated and classified like an only adult restaurant. I am very disappointed! Why kids shouldn't eat out of the restaurant? For me & I my family it was the last time I step foot at il bambino. In the Westchester area so my date and I decided to check out Il Bambino Ristorante because of some good things we heard. Arrived to find it in a strip mall, so parking was not an issue. We entered to be greeted warmly and shown to our table. Found the atmopshere to be a rather quaint, casual and rather a romantic ambience. In the mood, we ordered the house red wine and it was to our liking. We were served this warm and crispy garlic bread and house salads with very tasty dressing. We were intrigued with the build your own pasta concept where you could mix and match from about 10 pastas and 10 sauces and10 toppings. We found all the choices rather overwhelming and decided to pass and rather order the chicken Marsala and chicken Parmasen instead, with spaghetti. We were not disappointed! The meal was thoroughly enjoyable and we savoured the experience with the careful attention to our needs from the wait staff. We were very pleasantly surprised to see how very reasonable the total bill was at the end and were amazed at the value we got for the price. Personally I consider this place one of the best-bang-for-the-buck Italian restaurants in Miami. They have excellent lunch specials at around $7, every M-F. Their lunch specials come with a basket of garlic bread and a house salad. Their service is extremely friendly, efficient and attentive. I love the escargot a la Medici, deliciously bathed escargot in a wonderfully well balanced vodka sauce. I recommend their lasagna, cannelloni filled with chicken and spinach, their chicken Marsala and chicken picatta are wonderful and last but not least linguine with white clam sauce. This place has been around for 30 years, always clean and pleasant service. I had not gone in a few years so we stopped for dinner last Sunday night. Only two other tables were occupied so we expected quick service. This did not happen. A waiter came by a few minutes later and brought bread and water, and disappeared. A few minutes later a waitress came by and asked for our drink order and left, over the next 20 minutes she came by three more times to excuse herself and left again without our order. Another couple asked for the bill (they had wine) because they were tired of waiting to place food order. We finally placed our dinner and appetizers order, and waited and waited. Finally, the fried mozzarella arrived cold, just as the food arrived. Other guests arrived and we saw the same no one took care of them either. It appears that the kitchen was fully focused on take-outs and errors in delivery. We were very disappointed with the service and the food was somewhat plain. Will not go back. read more

Il Bambino used to be so great... I have no idea what happen to it throughout the years. The past two times I've visited I've had a horrible customer service experience. I was seated right away but wasn't attended until 35 minutes AFTER being seated and at this time, the waiter mentioned she could only take our drink order and would have to come back to take the food order. Once she returned (after 23 minutes) she explained the kitchen had limited food items due to how busy and late it was. (It was 8:03 PM) we understood and went on with ordering what WAS available. Our food was "okay" not had amazing as I've had it before there which really disappointed me because if the service is bad and the food is still as amazing then whatever I'll deal with the eh waiter but that was not the case. This place was so great and has so much potential. I really hope the owner is reading this and makes a difference. I grew up going here and it's so disappointing that through the past 2 and a half years this restaurant has gone done in quality of entrees and customer service. This is a truly Italian Restaurant. My Grandfather would have enjoyed eating here. The calamari entrée were very fresh and tasted like calamari should taste - delicious. The service was also quite good. The wait staff kept up my incessant need for water and the bread with garlic and powdered cheese. Then I got my Linguini with Shrimp in Marinara sauce. Again, the linguini and the shrimp were very fresh and tasty. I was reminded of what my deceased mom used to say about my grandfather. If the food did not taste good, he got up and left without eating. I wanted more, but my stomach had not more space and I have a large capacity stomach. Besides I had to leave some space for dessert and an expresso coffee. The flan was also fresh and recently done. It was served with just enough syrup to lick one's finger no matter how bad taste that is socially. And the expresso was perfect. Nice and hot, with a cover of froth. For those of you whose roots are Italian, this is the place to eat at. There are three selections of lunch specials to choose from daily. For those of you whose roots are not Italian, this is also the place for you to try some really good Italian food. read more

I went here for a lunch during the holidays with some co-workers. We decided to give it a try because it was near by and have good reviews here on yelp. It was definitely worth it. The food was good. Everyone really enjoyed their meals. I ordered pasta with vodka sauce and it was good. The garlic bread is amazing. It's a good place to go to especially if you want to try good pasta in Miami without having to go a chain restaurant. A plus, is that the portions are big so you always have leftovers for later. Just came back from a party we held at this restaurant and unfortunately I don't have much good to say. After making reservations for 14 to celebrate a graduation we planned to bring a couple of our own table decorations just for presentation when everyone arrived. Our request was simple, let us put our cake on the table and we will remove once everyone arrives so that it is not in the way of the food. The owner could not grasp this concept and kept telling us that she couldnt do that because they would be serving food on the table. We explained multiple times that the idea was to remove the cake before the food was served. After much struggle and argument they finally agreed to let us do this. (Something we have never had an issue with at any other restaurant). Despite the owner of the restaurant being unaccommodating, difficult to work with over this issue and rude to both my mother and aunt i still had no intention of leaving this review until the owner proceeded to call my aunt rude and say that she had an attitude problem. This is unacceptable behavior from an owner of a business in the hospitality industry. Not even the good food was enough to make up for the owner's attitude with us! This is not the type of service I expected from a restaurant we have frequented and held parties at before. Two stars only because the food was good and the waiter was great to us. read more

Where do I begin???... We thought this place was going to be great. It was awful. Our waiter was friendly, nice, and attentive. Unfortunately it was semi packed and he was working all alone and doing the best he could. We got our food. It was gross, my partners was missing the eggplant and it was just noodles and sauce. My dish the chicken Marsala was bland and gross. We kept hearing a lot of screaming from the kitchen. Then the Chef comes out from the back yelling at the only waiter, screaming in his face. The waiter was professional and just excused himself and walked outside while the Chef went on acting crazy in front of all of us. The funny thing is out of no where there was like 10 people from the back to help. The whole time the waiter struggled and did good but had no help at all just people demanding him. The chef needs to be fired and if he is the owner then he should sell it. No matter if the waiter messed up all day for which I don't know you never ever as a chef present yourself that way. And yell at someone and scream and point to their face at all and especially to the whole restaurant. So to add more to this, the little manager guy not sure who he was said how was everything and I said awful. He said sorry and brought us our check. Not asked why, offered to discount the bill, or anything. It was basically like a sorry but F U! This place is absurd. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY!!!! read more
