This place has been great for everything I've tried it for -- cheeseburger, sweet potato fries, Korean BBQ lettuce wraps (3 huge ones!), and iced tea. Maybe it's not great for some other things? Every time I've come in, it's been a super quick turnaround on food, all delicious, and I appreciate that they have the various sweeteners out so I can adjust to taste rather than trying to describe to someone behind the counter how sweet I want my iced tea to be. Seconding what somebody below said about their sweet potato fries -- I usually hate sweet potato fries but theirs really hit the spot somehow. Service is terrible. There is a 45minute limit for dine-in which is unreasonable for a cafe. Also saw one of the waiter basically scolded one of the customers by accussing her of having the intention to sit there for a long time using her laptop when the customer was just simply asking whether her table had an outlet. I really tried to like this place. I've been here a handful of times but it's always a miss. After a couple of years, I came back the other day for an oat latte. I paid $6.78 - naturally (eye roll) but was disappointed. They use oat planet, a not so very good and not so expensive oat milk so right off the bat I know my coffee won't be good. If you're going to charge that much money at least use the better brand. Oatly I would suggest. I go to other coffee shops and they charge the same amount. Get. The. Waffles. They are amazing. The dairy free homemade whipped cream and fresh fruit make the dish, and the waffles themselves are cooked to perfection. Dang. Terrible place! Horrible Service! Went to Il Caffe Latte simply to get a salad and coffee. I got yelled at by older Asian woman who's presumably the owner. First, she says there's no seating and there's a 45-minute maximum use of the table. Then she proceeds to yell at and lecture me - "we don't allow people use their laptop here". I have no idea what gave her the idea I was there to use my laptop. Her wait staff was also very rude. Never brought me a menu, but came charging at me, "have you had a chance to look at the menu". I look at him surprised - I never got a menu and one would think that was pretty obvious. Anyway, I wait 20 minutes to be grudgingly seated, ordered my coffee and salad. Coffee came in good time but waited nearly 30 minutes for the salad. Not once did she or her wait staff check if I needed anything else - water, drinks, anything. As soon as I'm seated, the owner was quick to move chairs around and accommodate everyone else that came afterwards - no one waited 1 minute to get a table. When my food finally arrived, the wait staff practically threw the plate in front of me. At this point, I had completely lost appetite and was definitely concerned about what else could have been added to my salad, given the attitude of the owner and the wait staff. I decided I wasn't touching the food. I simply asked for the check and didn't say a word to complain. Wait staff decides to bring me a take-away box. As he was searching for one, owner as wait staff begin whispering to each other but I could hear them. Consistent with her extremely rude attitude, the owner's words were less than polite. I simply paid, tipped and left without touching the food. They both watched me walk out - no apologies, no questions about why I would pay for food and not even taste it. Instead, the owner frowned at and continued to mutter complaints about me to her equally rude wait staff. I decided to try out this spot for the first time as I do with every local spot. Clearly, her definition of service involves yelling at patrons, offering terrible service and taking people's money in exchange for nothing. This woman must think she's doing folks a favor by running her business here. Worse, her definition of who's local is clearly thinly defined. Terrible place! Horrible service! read more

This is such a good quality cafe. I've been coming here for a few years now and finally tried their breakfast menu for the first time. I had an omelette which comes with a big portion side salad. This has been my go-to place for an iced matcha latte, much better than the Starbucks version! I've also dined in and had a great chicken salad. I recently tried their salmon burger and sweet potato fries, this was kind of a mess unfortunately - the salmon patty was mushy (no bad taste or smell, but the texture was way too soft) and some fries were undercooked. The setting is intimate so it is great for catching up with a friend or date night. I ordered a soy cappuccino and pumpkin pie- first of all, having pumpkin pie on the menu in March is already impressive, as my craving for this extends beyond what is seasonably appropriate. The pie was delicious. The total check for two drinks and two pastries came to roughly $20. Service was attentive throughout our time and even though we did not order dinner, we were not rushed at all. The customer service was great. I plan to come back and try more items. read more

Sooo disgusted with this place, even after giving it a second try. Just walked out after the proprietor started an argument with me over whether I could use a second paper cup to insulate my hot drink to go. I had thanked the cashier for being kind enough to indulge me, but even after explaining to the little old Asian lady who runs the place that the paper sleeves keep popping off the bottom of the cup, she insisted patronizingly (to my view) saying "Here, let me show you how it works..." She almost seemed worried that the people in the restaurant would judge her about the differential in paper waste between the paper sleeve and the paper cup. All grabbing my cup and touching it, removing the second cup, and I don't know if her hands are sanitized... So I said "I never had anyone cause this much of an argument over a paper cup in a coffee shop..." To which her eyes widened, "This is not a coffee shop, this is a restaurant!!" I happened to go on a Saturday and the place was quite packed so lets chalk it up to that. - The coffee isn't the greatest so be sure to pack on the sugar. I also ordered soy as an option since I don't drink dairy milk, which my girls had with their coffee, but I was charged an extra fee. When is this going to be the norm to add non-dairy options to your coffee at no extra cost? But I digress. - After looking over the menu I decided to order huevos rancheros. I really wanted something with home fries, but decided to be adventurous and get something outside of my comfort zone. My dish was actually really good. I came here to kill some time while I waited for an appointment close by and grabbed a latte and figured I would do some work on my laptop. I was shocked when I walked in to find the owner belittling the employee behind the counter taking my order so it immediately made me want to sit outside. I sat outside for a few minute, open my laptop and within 10 min the same owner came outside, cut me off from the conversation I was having an someone else to tell me "you can't use your laptop, no laptop, no wifi" very rudely. When I said " oh I don't need your wifi I have my own" she proceeded to get even more rude and say "I said no laptop or leave". I then told her "well that's weird" and she got even snappier then decided to stand behind my table and watch me my entire visit and stand outside. She's probably watching me type this out because she was very adamant about NO WIFI - which is so sad because this place has potential to be a great working cafe. So needless to say, I will NOT be returning here and anyone who treats their employees like that does not deserve to own a business. Came here on a late afternoon, enjoyed the contemparary cafe ambience..a few tables, a partially open kitchen, artwork for sale on the walls, and the sight of the owner with dreds/locks..very hipster vibe. The food though wasn't as interesting and appealing. The menu looked promiing: black bean burger, shrimp and crab on croissant, and the salmon burger. Chose the salmon burger, unfortunately it was dry, overcooked, and bland, not saved by the spicy mayo sauce or the cilantro sauce I asked for on the side. Needless to say, I didn't finish it, which is surprising for me..I eat every and anything. The fries were good though. So in an attempt to redeem myself, I ordered the chocolate cheesecake..another fail..chocolate was so thick and rich every bite brought me closer to a diabetic comas. My friend on the other hand, a Harlem resident, enjoyed the black bean burger and a smoothie drink. So I'll be fair and say 3 stars. Service was also pretty good. This is my new favorite neighborhood spot and central harlems best kept secret. It's both low-key and high-key at the same time...very cozy and easy to miss if you're not looking for it, but also a great setting for people-watching and getting a glimpse of Harlem legends like Dapper Dan and celebrity chef Marcus Samuelson. This dish included flour tortillas, scrambled eggs, fresh queso fresco, guacamole, pico de gallo, sour cream, lettuce, and fresh mango. Oooh-wee (as my friend would say), it was delicious! I walked in just to purchase a coffee and while doing so an African American gentleman walked in looking to sit and use his laptop the Asian woman who was at the register advised Ii Caffe has no wifi policy, the gentleman then left. After he walked out the door she made a comment about him being Black and all covered up.. Its fall and the weather is chilly there was nothing wrong with him having on a hoodie. The irony of it all is 90% of the patrons in the Cafe were African American or Black. These establishments open up in our neighborhoods and have no respect for us and our money. I've been stopping by here for years and finally decided to give a review. My first experience was awful so I thought to give them a few more chances because anyone can have a bad day... well, here it is. I've been about 10 times, but mostly for coffee or deserts. The food is not that great, unless it's an egg sandwich - maybe. From the first time I purchased a croissant and apple turkey sausage a few years ago and nearly paid $9 I was skeptical. I went back anyway. Service was off, poor, slow, good, bad, confusing, none at all... yes it's like that there. Then I went again to order the croissant and was told I could only have it separate but not in the sandwich toasted. Yup. I was confused, too. So I purchased it and placed the sausage between the croissant myself. Next time at around 11:30am I was told I couldn't have it because breakfast was over, I had to order brunch. I did that. I didn't like it. Average to say the best. Today I had a cheeseburger for a friend and I, $27. Wow. The meat taste like ground toenails. End of discussion. I'll stick with the carrot cake and coffee and keep it moving. How people eat in there is beyond me. read more

The girl that serve me was pretty nice, She had to save me from the Racist elderly lady that was the cook. The thing that sucks about businesses like this one is that they come in to your neighborhood and when you're willing to give support they treat you like an outcast or an outsider when you don't look like the other white people moving in.
