Had a wonderful experience at Il Pastaio, per usual. I came in on a Sunday so I expected a bit of weekend foot traffic, and I couldn't help but notice the Eataly team's consistent effort to maintain both quality and efficiency. My server, Brendan, helped create the experience I was looking for by being very tentative to not only me, but the other customers around me. He answered my questions about the food with genuine knowledge and interest, had my order out quick, and created a great time for seemingly everyone! I hope my review does not offend anyone. However, here is my honest opinion from today's experience: I'm a simple person, I don't search for anything special or anything looks necessarily appetizing. As we are wandering around Eataly, a man making pasta with a big mirror above his head caught my attention and decided to sit here for lunch. Great ambiance with subtle lightings, and it was packed with people on Sunday afternoon. I'm not a huge fan of blue cheese, or goat cheese to enjoy the strong scented cheeses, but if you do, go for this bruschetta con gorgonzola. Personally, there were TOO many strong flavors going on with this dish to even taste what I'm tasting. Sauce for Cacio e pepe was okay, but the noodles; as this is why we decided to eat here, was so al dente that it felt like we were chewing a yellow rubber band. Perhaps, this is how the real Italians cook their noodles, but it definitely wasn't for us. Lastly, just a comment I wanted to make... is that I thought the napkin here is so hard I could get a paper cut as I am using. But looks like a great, thick quality! read more

Dinner can be challenging on Movie nights, especially when you desire something delicious, healthy, and convenient, but Il Pastaio di Eataly, Dallas in North Park Mall has it covered. The open floor plan of the restaurant in the middle of the market feels friendly, and cosmopolitan. Although they focus on pastas, the warm staff quickly points out the other options on the menu, from salads to delicious appetizers. If time permits it's the perfect place to linger a bit, enjoy a nice bottle of wine, and people watch. My favorite dish so far is the Gnocchi Ai Porcini, but it's nice that we order a few things, and share. Of the 3 restaurants in Eataly Dallas, Il Pastaio is the one where we found the prices the most wallet friendly, but these aren't food court prices, nor experience! See you soon! Il Pastaio di Eataly - The perfect seat for us to dine, and people watch - Pasta Shops Near Me - Dallas, Texas

Last night was my fourth time to eat at Eataly. Il Pastaio is my favorite of all of the restaurant/cafe options. The atmosphere is intimate and classy, in spite of being in a bustling section of the place, right by the market. The pasta is incomparable: the best cacio e pepe I've ever had, plus delicious salads. We almost skipped dessert last night, but our excellent server -- Eduardo -- recommended the tiramisu. The particular dish was never a favorite of mine: until now! What a magical rendering of a classic. It's costly, but worth it because it's plenty for two. Eduardo even brought me sample of Moscato to try along with it, and next time I'll definitely be getting a glass of that. In the past, the only drawback of my visits was poor service; this time, thanks to Eduardo, the service was top-notch, and we plan to visit more often. read more

Food was very good. The server was excellent But the waiting, and the way they sat us was horrible. They were two empty four top tables. Apparently they were reserved and no one sat there for almost an hour and 15 minutes while we waited for over an hour!! The hostess was absolutely horrendous. read more

Worst foods we have at such a nice establishments! We tried their Rest Fest this week. For $29 per person plus $10 extra added on, total $40/p, the so called seafoods squid ink pasta does not even had a whole piece of seafood in it. They have to cut one shrimp into three pieces! What a ripoff & over charged. Only the salad & dessert was decent. Service was ok. The open kitchen needed some management attention for hygiene & cleanliness for food preparation. We lost 60% of our appetite after watching how food was prepared. One star was for the service & the set up. Definitely will not return again. read more

The Trenette al Pesto Genovese was quite bland. The menu states it includes green beans and yukon potatoes but with 4 quite small pieces of each I would not agree. The support staff were lovely but our waitress forgot to bring my beverage order and did not return to our table after we placed our order. I really wanted to enjoy this place. I had been wanting to come for a while but my schedule never allowed it. Even when I did come, I had to bring my laptop. My experience was purely based on my rude and disinterested server, Andrew. I was trying to ask him about the menu and he acted as if he was annoyed simply by my presence. He even shrugged his shoulders at one point when I asked him a question. I told him that I was looking to satisfy my cheese craving and asked him what pasta he would recommend. He picked one that wasn't cheesy at all and he served it so poorly. He even disappeared and stopped coming by the table. Someone else had to give me my check. I was so disappointed and my feelings were hurt a little bit, because what did I do to deserve such treatment? I get better service at Chik-fil-A. And it was the middle of a week day, there weren't many people in there, so it's not like he was overwhelmed. read more

I love Eataly and go there frequently, spend money there, etc. Today had another lunch at Il Pastaio. Diners, beware of the Daily Crudo. Priced at $16, it was described as "sushi grade" tuna. But it was chewy and tough and fibrous. I mentioned it to the waitress but I have my doubts that the message made it to the kitchen or management. Other than that, reasonably enjoyable meal. read more
