My go to is always the 2 piece chicken combo with mashed potatoes and a root beer or pineapple quencher. The chicken is always so tender I question if it's fully cooked but it isn't bloody and perfectly crispy on the outside. Tonight I ordered a deluxe spicy chicken sandwich combo to try something different. My first few bites into the sandwich made me think they gave me an original chicken sandwich. It wasn't until the last few bites that I saw a jalapeño and tasted a little spicy sauce. It would have been nice to have it more uniform throughout the sandwich but it did give me a chance to taste what both the original and spicy sandwiches would taste like. As a parent, I never knew how much I would appreciate a drive-thru at spots like Walgreens, Starbucks, and now, an actual restaurant! It's the little things sometimes that really help to take the heavy lift off, while giving back the flexibility and energy to the driver :) While I can't speak for the interior of the restaurant, we did roll through the drive-thru to test it out over the weekend while exploring Alameda and all of its charm. On a Saturday evening it seemed like they were pretty swamped, and no one was responding at the drive-thru window so we figured maybe it was closed. We pulled up and my husband got out of the car to confirm before we pulled away with a worker inside the restaurant and they apologized. Almost immediately someone came to the window and gave us printed menus because we had already passed the digital menu part of the drive-thru. We ordered hush puppies, a fried shrimp po' boy sandwich, mac n' cheese, and bread pudding. Oh wee, we had a feast when we arrived home and reheated everything! I think they may still be working out some kinks, but I'm open to trying the drive-thru again next time we're in town post brewery fun. A drive-thru in the East Bay for Cajun bites? Very cool! I've explored their menu before and wow, that bread pudding! Special. Would go back for that alone to try it hot from the oven!

I ordered to-go blackened fish platter with red beans and rice, and a chicken sandwich with fries. It took 30 min for the food to come out and when I opened the fish, it wasn't even slightly warm (mmm, room temperature fish!). What's more disappointing is that everything was severely overcooked and dry and nothing tasted remotely Cajun or appetizing. This place isn't exactly cheap, either. And all I can say about the ambience is it's got a cafeteria vibe. Anyway, I gave it two stars because the front people are at least friendly, but I in no way, shape or form recommend this restaurant.

The other day I went to try the Western Bacon Crispy Chicken Burger that fellow Yelpers were telling me about. It wasn't on the menu in the dining room. The young lady taking my order said they still serve it. It was only $5.99. I ordered the Combo Meal with Onion Rings (instead of fries). The burger was fairly large and very filling. All the food was fresh. BTW, if you eat in the dining room, the staff will still bring your food to your table. So if you're disabled or have trouble carrying a tray, the staff will bring your order to you. Only the soda is self service. Clean restrooms and free parking.

We definitely expected a long wait in the line to place our order but we certainly didn't expect to have to wait 25 minutes when they told me to pull over to the side and that they would bring my order out to me. Meanwhile several cars are going by getting their orders and leaving..I had to go knock on the glass door for somebody to come to me and ask where is my order and the person who answered the door said let me go get a manager for you, but before that happened the manager spoke on an intercom that I can hear outside in a very very rude tone and said "we're waiting on your extra crispy chicken" but it was the way she said it over the intercom instead of coming to the door to talk to me. Not only that, but when we got the food it wasn't even crispy it was like KFC original recipe texture and it was cold!!! I asked for my bread to be grilled on both sides It wasn't... so either they got mad that I was knocking on the door and gave me some crappy food or this is just how the service is here on a regular. The customer service there was absolutely horrible and it wasn't worth that long drive because our food was not that great. It is as cold AND My order was incorrect. Instead, the staff came through and made me an order of Animal Fries since they couldn't make another burger. So technically In-N-Out forced a cheat day on me. Honestly... I needed it. Been eating too clean lately! Bonus points to the security guard who made me throw away my cigarette because they were closing and there were no "In-N-Outs" allowed. At first I was annoyed, then I realized he's probably helping me live longer. Respect. Great staff, great customer service, and somehow they turned a stolen-order disaster into a memorable late-night snack. Highly recommend with my utmost respectful regards.
