If you are a UC Berkeley student, this location and the one in Oakland and generally around the same travel time due to traffic. If you are unfamiliar with In-N-Out's (not so) secret menu, I'd highly recommend getting your burger/cheeseburger animal style and your fries animal style with a Neapolitan Shake. What are those you ask? In addition to the regular stuff, an Animal style burger includes pickles, extra spread, grilled onions, mustard fried onto each patty. The animal style fries start off as regular fries, get 2 slices of cheese added on top, spread and grilled onions. I'd recommend asking for extra spread when your order is called. On 8/29/17 11:30pm I guess I caught the place at an off time. Not very many patrons and it looked a bit sloppy. Very surprising as I've never seen an InNout in this condition anywhere - regardless of time of day or how new the location was. This location must have been around for a long long time. I went inside (because the drive-thru was PACKED) and just as I was walking out one of the employees came running out. He had this mortified look on his face and said they messed up my order. I ordered my burgers Animal Style and they made them regular. He asked me if I didn't mind waiting a sec and they'd fix the order. Also in the meantime, they offered me a free milkshake. I told them my gf was waiting in the car and they made her a free milkshake too. After an extra 5mins. they came straight to my car with the right order, let me keep the wrong order and gave me new fries because the old ones got cold during the wait. Not sure what was up with that. It took longer than a super busy In-N-Out. Three of us ordered the following: One Hamburger ($2.00) Two Double-Doubles ($3.30 each) - one Animal Style, one Protein Style Three French Fries ($1.50 each) - one regular, two Animal Style Three Medium Fountain Drinks ($1.55 each) It's remarkable how In-N-Out has kept its prices low without sacrificing quality. One of this chain's claims to fame is their use of fresh ingredients. Even though it's fast food, the quality and freshness of ingredients is a step up. Horrible service. I'm highly disappointed. I came in after a long vacation... my flight landed at Oakland airport and I stopped here on the way home. My food was cold, cheese on my cheeseburger was not melted and my fries were burnt. The only person who went above and beyond to resolve the issue was a customer service rep named Kailah. She went above and beyond to fix the issue. In-N- Out has always been a favorite of mine. I go there about once a week and the service is amazing. It is a great place to eat and to take your kids after school. You can tell that it is a great place by how long the drive-thru line is and how many people are ordering. That though is the only downside of the restaurant. I understand that during COVID they are short staffed and are trying their best to keep the customers safe. The cashier and workers stay as far apart as possible and they have plenty glass in place for safety. The workers are always kind and make sure that you come in and out with a smile. The Mill Valley location was too busy, so we went to the Pinole location instead. This is likely to be the second most convenient In-n-Out in the Bay Area, second to Pleasant Hill. It's only a few hundred feet from the Richmond Parkway exit, and easily visible from the freeway regardless of whether you're driving north or south. Because of this and their reputation for great burgers, they're usually busy, and the Pinole location was hoppin' too, although not the madhouse that the Mill Valley one was. This is not the place for gourmet burgers. It's casual dining, clean and refined, with a very high level of customer service to boot. They have a very simple menu, and an intriguing secret menu. The patties are high quality beef, the fries are cooked different and are better than most, and the prices are on the low side. It's that way no matter which In-n-Out you eat at. Today, the Hunny and I had my usual, a double-double, and the girl had a burger with no burger (their version of grilled cheese), and a good meal was had by all.
