This Florida boy finally got to try In-N-Out and... he loved it. I didn't even know there were In-N-Outs in Texas until I drove past one on the way to my hotel from the airport and immediately made a detour to visit. In-N-Out is simple: there's very few menu items. But when there's few menu items, that means they've perfected them, and boy have they. I got a double double, animal style (of course) with fries. The burger was massive, most fast food style burgers are not that big. There were tons of veggies and sauce on top. I thoroughly enjoyed my burger. The fries needed a bit of salt, but we're good nonetheless. For vegetarians, there's not much here. The fries are vegetarian, and there's a "grilled cheese" if you ask for it. There's also a secret "veggie burger" but it's not a patty, it's just the burger with no patty (all veggies). I hope in the future, with the amount of fast food places getting veggie patties, that In-N-Out will get one of their own. At the end of the day, I'm glad I finally got to try In-N-Out. Thanks to the introduction to the Dallas market, one doesn't need to venture all the way to SoCal or even the Vegas Strip. What it has going for it: + Simple straight forward menu, burgers, fries, shakes, and soda..plus the not so "secret" menu. Just Google it or ask about Animal style, protein style, grilled cheese, or even the number of patties X slices of cheese ( any one up for a 3x3 or possibly 4x4?) + It's cheap and budget friendly + the ingredients are fresh + So might find it off putting or a bit of a throw back, but the staff is overly friendly. Think overly smiley people that always say please and thank you. It's always been apart of their restaurant culture + Gluten free - they do a good job of handling this. You can actually taste the potatoes in their fries. The hamburger buns are toasted to perfection. Service is always 100%. The assembly of the hamburger could be neater but it is easy to shift into place. Bathroom is a little small but not many people use it anyway when I go in. Ketchup dipping cups are great. Sometimes ketchup dispensers are lacking but there are two dispensers so try the other one. Shakes are kinda thick so maybe they should get wider straw, but they taste great. The design of the interior is chill and stylish with the red trees everywhere. Can take a few minutes for them to get your gift card to work. Food comes in a cool tray with all the stuff you need like salt, pepper, and napkins. Time it takes to prepare your food is pretty efficient at about 2-6 minutes. They are good at not messing up your order. I think they have never gotten my order wrong except when they forgot to give me a water cup because they were distracted by getting the gift card to work. You might feel like your food was held to a fine standard. These places are not very common, but if you see one while you are driving around, go try it out! read more

I went to in n out burger for the first time, the one off of North Central Expressway, and I'm sticking with shake shack. No only did I see them dump french fries into my takeaway bag, resulting in a mess, bit they nervously laughed and looked around to see if the buyer was watching. I was sitting right there and saw it all. No biggie. But when I go to the car to eat my meal, now there's french fries everywherend but there are some alien hairs on them that I know I didn't pay for. Hamburger cheeseburger or double cheeseburger burger. Never frozen meat and you can taste the seasoning, buttery bun, and all fresh produce . Thats hard to find now days.. Although this was far from my first visit to the chain, it was my first to this location. It's one of the newer ones, with pristine concrete in the parking lot and a squeaky clean exterior. Coming up to the drive-through, the menu is there in all of its 65 years of glory, but who needs that - I know what I want. The ever-pleasant order taker greets me, and I order a double-double animal style with light spread. No fries, no drink. After verifying the last two and asking if I'm eating in the car (yes, please), he gives me my total and asks me to pull forward. I'm greeted at the window with a smile, and soon the burger is delivered. As with almost every one of the burgers I've ever had from there, it was perfect enough to take a picture and put it on an ad. They are masters at this. The bun is pristine, the ingredients are even and well-centered, and it's at the perfect temperature. Diving in, it was delicious with just the right amount of spread, the lettuce was crisp, the meat and cheese were perfectly "melded" together and that picture perfect bun was fresh and tasty. All this for less than $4. Bottom line, I still don't fawn over the fries like some do, but those burgers are awesome. No, they're not "craft" or "gourmet"; they're unapologetically "fast food", but they're always fresh, always delicious and always look fantastic.
