I don't write reviews, but this is hands down the worst Indian food I have ever eaten. The restaurant opens at 11:30. I picked up a To go order at 12:00. The tandoori chicken was completely dry and seemed like it had been sitting under a heating lamp all day. The chicken curry had two pieces of chicken in it and was overwhelmingly sweet. First time here and it did not disappoint. We started off with the samosas and they were absolutely delicious. Perfect combination of crunch and savory with a unique blend of spices. The chicken tikka was also very tasty! I must say the portions are on the smaller side compared to other spots in the valley nevertheless the flavor and quality made up for it. Accidentally ordered on doordash instead of from another place. We paid $46 (with 10% discount) for the chicken masala and chana masala and garlic naan. The chana masala was good & actually spicy (which i wanted!! but was surprised it was actually spicy bc most places are mild when they say spicy) & I had to eat it over a few days. Garlic naan was good too. The chicken masala was not great & have had better ones elsewhere. None of dishes came with rice. CRIMINAL:( We were disappointed to not get rice, especially for that price. We will likely not go back as the dishes don't come with rice and there are better alternatives. read more

My husband and my mother did not like any of the food or the sauces that I picked up today. The portions were large which was the only good thing. I thought the food was just ok except the chicken tika was too dry to eat. Puppy ate it so we didn't have to toss it. All the sauces were not good. He charged us $8 extra for two tiny sauces that I asked for. He did give us some sauces for free though. We were wondering if they have changed ownership because we used to really like the food and the people here but we didn't recognize the two gentleman we saw . 1 Star - Very disappointing experience I had a very bad experience with Indian Oven and would not recommend it. We ordered Paneer Butter Masala, Veg Korma veg Biryani, and Chicken Biryani, and unfortunately, all the dishes were spoiled. The food had a bad smell and taste, and it was clearly not fresh. The paneer butter masala tasted sour, and both the veg korma biryani and chicken biryani were inedible. We had to throw the food away, which was extremely upsetting and a complete waste of money. On top of that, the customer service was terrible. When we contacted them to report the issue, there was no proper apology, no responsibility taken, and no effort to resolve the problem. The staff was rude and dismissive, which made the experience even worse. Food quality and hygiene are basic expectations, especially when ordering Indian food, and Indian Oven failed on both quality and customer service. I didn't love it, but I did have a hearty meal there. It is within walking distance of the Hampton Inn where I stayed and I like that. Service was fine. I think my biggest critique is that I'm accustomed to an intense spice level when enjoying Indian food and this place was unable to accommodate that. Terrible experience ordering at this restaurant. First off, the flavor overall was lacking and felt really poor quality. Second, the chicken in my dish seemed improperly cooked and spoiled so I only ate one piece before throwing it all away. It seems as if they use spoiled meats in the curry's to avoid throwing food out. The reason I know this is because I woke up in the middle of the night with the worst food poisoning of my life. The chicken tikka and bone-in tandoori was very good!! The customer service was lacking though. I ordered two orders of fried chicken as an appetizer and they came with the outside fried and the inside solid frozen! The waitress took them and brought them back edible and hot. Later, a different waiter knocked over my my iced tea while he was putting down a dish, causing the entire tea to splash all over my pants. The waiter left smiling without a word which I found upsetting. Everything is basically a La carte. Great to share family style. Not cheap, but not overpriced. The only complaints I have are (1) $5 for what amounts to 1oz of mango chutney is a bit much, and (2) horrible airconditioning is unpleasant during the summer. The fans have are too noisy, inconsistent, and definitely inadequate. I prefer to go once the weather is cooler so I'm comfortable. Nice customer service. Although I do wanna add that we were the only customers during that time. The food was great, I was able to finish all the chicken from the chicken butter. My friends wasn't able to finish due to getting full. I'm not sure anout the prices because I don't go as much to an indian cuisine. They also let you choose if you want your food to have low, mild, high amount of spiciness. I did the mild one and it was good for me and not that spicy. The biggest downside a while ago was when I asked for some extra napkin, they only gave us 2 when there's the 3 of us. Napkins were important to us since we used our hands to eat and we need something wipe the sauce off, and it seemed that they were skimping on napkins for some unknown reason. read more

Total was $162, and it was worth $10 (I'm being generous)!!! No flavor with some food, too spicy to eat with other options. Exceptional authentic Indian cuisine! This was our 1st time visiting this restaurant, even though they were the first Indian restaurant in the Coachella Valley. We ordered the Tandoori Dinner with an appetizer of fresh garlic Naam bread. Everything tasted amazing and plenty of it! And be sure to try the Taj Mahal lager beer!
