Had the worst experience ever by one of their artist (Austin) today September 29th, had my appointment set up for 1pm and this guy was already moody from the beginning because I didn't like his design. I first walked into the shop September 22nd to better explain my idea to the tattoo artist there and hopefully be pointed in the right directing to someone who will be able to get my idea correctly. But Austin (ig: electric_tattoos_by_austin) was the artist I had the misfortune of being helped by. At first it seemed like he understood exactly what I wanted. So I was excited for my appointment because I've had this idea for a while now and like any normal person you want exactly what you envisioned. When I saw my design I did not like any part of it which got this guy moody as hell.I was going to try to work with him but the way he started to speak to me was like he didn't care for what I wanted at all and was trying to push me on the design which had everything I told him I didn't want. He raised his voice at me like I was stupid for not seeing that it has everything I asked for. "How is this not what you asked for" No tattoo artist should speak to someone the way he did. They're supposed to work with you. Was told I couldn't get my deposit back, I told him to just keep the money just don't want his work. Not sure how he expects to build his client list this way. When he tries to fight you on something that's going on your body forever. Lost money for me just to waste my time and ruined my whole day. As much as I wanted work from this shop I'm not sure I ever want to return. Save yourself the bad energy and have any other artist created your masterpieces. read more

Charges $300 for piercing that fall out in two weeks. Owner is rude and doesnt care. No refunds or even an offer to re-pierce the ear. Update after the owner replied: Cutting people off and not letting them speak is considered rude last I checked. Telling customers "don't start with me lady" isn't either. I think you might want to think about using a different question when speaking with clients. I would've been more susceptible to you had you not cut me off every sentence, listened to my concern with empathy, and then shared this info in a polite manner. Telling people "don't start with me lady" and using a nasty tone isn't exactly great customer service If you would let me finish speaking on the phone, you would've known that I wasn't asking for a full refund, and was instead just going to ask if the piercing could simply be redone since the hole closed. You're probably too much of a penny pincher to even think about doing that though. Maybe you were just having a bad day. Maybe this problem happens to you a lot and you're sick of clients complaining. I don't know, but I do know that as a businesswoman and owner myself, I would never speak to my clients the way you spoke to me read more

I have to say this place is really chill, very friendly and they do amazing work, I didn't have an appointment I went with a friend that did have one with Sawooli, after seeing her tattoo be done I just knew I needed ink done by him. He's really amazing at his work, I didn't know how his schedule was but he was able to tattoo me right after my friend, I was even more surprised to see this shop has CC or debit payment not many do. Well worth my trip to Venice I recommend them and I cannot wait to return for more. I've gone to different artist that I've asked for watercolor and most say they don't recommend it or bring some excuse what made me super comfortable was Saúl say "oh I love watercolor" what more can I ask for in an artist :) just the fact that he made me comfortable was the cherry on top. I called a couple places to inquire about their piercing rates. This place quoted me $100 for service and basic earrings for a child. Since this place got really good reviews I decided to take my five year old in to get her ears pierced. They don't have a private parking lot so I found street parking nearby. We walked in and a lady asked us to email our passport to them so they could confirm that we were her parents. After about 10 minutes she came back and showed us the three trays of earring she recommended for my kid. My daughter quickly picked a pretty blue gem. A few minutes later they lead us to the back room where Lucy greeted us. She offered my daughter a stuffed animal to hold but my daughter said no thanks! She climbed up into the chair and Lucy explained the process then got right to it. The lady that greeted us helped by handing the tools to Lucy while she worked. Lucy cleaned the ear lobes, marked the lobes, used the clamp then pierced the lobe with a needle. My daughter was such a brave girl. She didn't even let out a peep! Lucy inserted the earring and repeated with the other ear. The piercing took a few minutes and we were done. She then lead us outside and explained how to keep the piercing clean and gave us an info booklet. Total service fee was $44 to pierce two lobes and earrings plus the ear sanitizer spray costs $96. Total with tip was a bit more than the original quoted price. So far so good. My daughters ears have not gotten infected. We will come back to change out the backing of the earrings to a shorter one. Lucy was great! Tip: They only do child piercings on the weekends around noon. read more

Rey did an Amazing job on my daughters tattoo! He stayed very late to get it done (over 9 hours, with only 2 short breaks) as she limited time off of work. The attention to detail is excellent the lines are very sharp and shading is awesome! I would highly recommend him over and over again to anyone needing/wanting a tattoo. read more

I loved my experience here it was so easy and they were so quick with everything. I went in for a nose piercing, got pierced by T who was incredibly kind during it, and was out in maybe 15 minutes. I came in with my mom with an idea of what we wanted done: a scene in space with a sun and a planet orbiting. Doug really took his time creating the design for us, checking in multiple times to make sure he was on the right track with what we wanted and had pictured. Once we decided on the design, he very meticulously tattooed both me and my mom in a very professional and clean setting. Also came in with a friend for an ear piercing of the cartilage. The nice lady who helped her out was very quick and professional, again with very clean facilities. Definitely will get my next piercing here where needles can be (and are) sterilized as opposed to Claire's piercing gun, which we were informed cannot be sterilized and thus has touched many people before its use. Came here two days ago to get a tattoo done by some guy named Zach or Jake I can't remember. I gave him a Photoshop file. Of what exactly I wanted and even brought a flash drive prepared and he still took a picture of it with his iPad. He said give me a minute while I set up. He started setting up at 2:15 and didn't start tattooing me till 330. Even though we have a tracing machine that does the job for them he still took an hour and 15 minutes to set up while he was talking to his friends and other coworkers. Then he over priced me which is crazy because I've gotten nine tattoos at this shop in the last year from an amazing artist named Ray who never charged me no where near that but did triple the quality work. This guy completely ignored the things that I asked him to do, didn't follow directions and set a tattoo smaller than most of my tattoos on my body would take over two hours that's why he wanted to charge me $300 I ended up working something out and I ended up moving at $200 and I left there completely unsatisfied. I don't know what happened to Ray but he was my favorite tattoo artist there and he did so much great work that it's almost a shame that I got another tattoo at this place without him. Point is i'm completely unsatisfied with my work and if you see Zack/Jake/Whatever his name is I'd advise you to wait for another artist to free up read more

Super friendly and skilled, had my sister and I laughing the whole time and helped picked out dope jewelry for our piercings. The place is super clean and nice also. I came here to get my tragus pierced. Everyone was so nice and accommodating! I did not have an appointment but was able to get my piercing in less than 30 minutes. The room they did my piercing in was very clean and neat. Thomas did an awesome job and explained each step which really helped to calm my nerves. He was very quick and awesome to work with. The other workers were very helpful and friendly as well! I can't remember all the names but they gave me advice with the jewelry and gave thorough instructions with cleaning. My tragus piercing was $50 (+ $5 for the jewelry). My friend got a new ring on her cartilage (which another worker put in) - it was $10 for the ring. I asked for the pricing of other piercings - a lobe starts at $40 and a conch piercing starts at $45. Their pricing is very reasonable! Overall, I would recommend this place. Don't ever show up to this place without an appointment thinking you'll get good work done. I showed up on my birthday after seeing the reviews here, just to see if they had anyone available midweek off hours. I could have waited weeks for an appointment with a professional to do the work I wanted. Instead they handed me off to some lousy beginner thinking they'd be able to do a simple square with clean lines. Except they can't because they suck. The lines are fat, uneven, and the ink bled, because this person didn't have enough experience. Worst part, tattoos are for life. This happed a few years ago and since I see my tattoo everyday I'm constantly reminded how much I hate this parlor and their nonchalance. So finally a review. Maybe I'll go and spend hundreds of dollars and endure hours of pain to get this removed so I can have it redone the right way by an artist and parlor that cares about people. read more

March 2017: I have sadly not added more piercings, but I did have my existing ones cleaned and checked on by their piercer Thomas. I also introduced my younger sister and my best friend to him, and both their nostril piercings have healed wonderfully. We love that he asks for you future intent- always a stud? Hoop? Will you be adding another? Makes a difference in the angle and position of the piercing. The room dedicated to the piercings has been spotless every time. Answers every single question. November 2016, added another tattoo by Saul. We had a traumatic loss of our precious family dog, MJ. Couldn't and wouldn't trust any one else but Saul to handle the original print of her paw and tattoo it onto me. I also brought in my younger sisters to have it matching mine, one being her first tattoo. Had to make sure her first was clean, safe and gorgeous. A very personal tattoo and time for us and everyone at Ink Monkey kept us distracted from the pain involved with our loss. January 2017, again brought in another dear friend, first tattoo, EXTREMELY nervous and vocal about it- not a single problem and she's in love with her piece. The shop has been ridiculously tidy every time, and the bathroom is never anything other than clean- never been afraid to walk into it during or after a fresh tattoo or piercing. Finally got the balls to just get a piercing done by Lance, don't let his appearance scare you he is very soft spoken and knowledgeable! A couple days later I heard they were doing friday the 13th specials so of course I got up early to wait in line! Me and my husband decided on the middle finger design by Saul that's reminded us of one of our favorite shows Rick & Morty. No lie the tattoos took about 3 minutes each, crazy.
