Cookies are so yummy!! Nice, warm, and sweet depending on what you get! I love their double chocolate chunk so perfect in my opinion! The location is a good spot especially since they are open late at night, so stoping here after a couples drinks is good choice! The service however, was a little strange but still decent. My girlfriends and I stopped by here on Saturday night, there was a couple in front ordering mind you all their guests look like teenagers and the guy working that night definitely was a teenager he had a beanie on, and one AirPod in, and was maybe even high... Anyways, the couple in front took advantage of him being in that state so they asked for some samples and even asked for a free scoop of something. They finally after like 10 minutes of talking to the guy, finally got their order and left. Then it was my turn and the worker says "oh shit, I forgot to get their payment" as the bill on the tablet is still there. like sir? Anyways he just says whatever and takes my order and my friends. I get my order quick and easy, just cookie. My two friends order two cookies and they want to pay with cash, the guy says "I don't feel like counting right now can you pay a different way". My friends say no he says whatever and counts the change lol. Weird service experience that took longer then it should've to get cookies, but funny as well. Hopefully the boss checks his workers better, don't want to keep losing money! read more

I stopped in with a pre order on a Friday night and they keep the box nice and warm as they wait for you to come and pick up your cookies! I got their classic chocolate chip cookies and they were delicious. The service was quick as it wasn't super busy. Parking can be a challenge. But I did park about a block away walk in and then I was on my way. This location has some seating .So if you want to you could definitely enjoy your cookies in the moment or take them to go! read more

I'd be here too much if they were a little closer or a little cheaper. They always hit the spot. Crumbl and a lot of the other gourmet cookie places are just too much for me after a few bites. Within insomnia, I find myself always craving more when I'm done. I also like that they have all of the classic flavors if I'm just wanting to keep it traditional. It's in a great location where you can pick them up and go enjoy them on the beach for sunset too, which is perfect. read more

I received a promo code around Halloween last year for free delivery so I tried these cookies and since then I've been hooked. I love the fact they aren't gigantic cookies like some of the other cookie chains. They are also served warm which makes all the difference. The cookies are nice and soft and gooey, but with that buttery crisp outer edges. They are ideal cookies in my opinion. I have tried most of the flavors, the chocolate chip and the double chocolate are my favorite, but the white chocolate macadamia, the M&M, and snicker doodle are pretty good too. I like the small dippers too, although I miss the cream cheese frosting which is some of the best cream cheese frosting. Please bring it back! Parking can be difficult, I tend to park in the red zone in front with hazards on to get my order. Ordering online makes this much quicker so you aren't there long. read more

Hot and fresh cookies?! WINNING! We stopped at Insomnia on our way home and what followed was a casual dining experience to full on cookie assault on our minds. I also grabbed a blondie as if our splurge wasn't enough. This place is cuuuute! They pull cookies from a magical oven below the counter and it's heavenly. And they're so delicious! I know it's hard to gauge how fresh something truly is when it's warm like this but... ugh.... I don't even mind being fooled. This was amazing. My favorite was the red velvet and oatmeal. OMG my favorite cookies. We were visiting San Diego and I door dashed these cookies. The order was canceled because it had said the door dasher canceled but low and behold they showed up at my door in the hotel. They were still hot and I can not say how amazing they are enough. Came here.. well... more like stumbled here after a night out in PB. I had an itching for something sweet all week. So I was happy to find this place. The cookies and ice cream were huge. But it didn't quite hit like I needed it to. Me and my group ordered two things: Classic 6 pack of cookies and an ice cream sandwich. For the 6 pack our favorites were the double chocolate mint, and snickerdoodle. For the ice cream sandwich we had the top cookie a s'mores deluxe and the bottom cookie a confetti deluxe. Unfortunately our top options for cookies were out. We came right after midnight on Sunday morning, so that was a bit disappointing especially since they don't close until 3am on Sunday morning. Service was quick. There wasn't a lot of people in there so we had all day to pick and they didn't seem annoyed that we didn't know what we wanted. The inside of this location is small. One group of 4 was already in side and had already orders and it feel cramped with our group of 4 inside with them. Definitely a place that's meant to grab and go. Either way it was a 3.5 out of 5. That extra .5 star is because the ice cream sandwich is huge. I'm not sure if the cookies are THAT good to justify the price but you gotta at least try it once to judge for yourself. read more

Came here on a weekday afternoon. There was one other person in store and one employee. We were greeted and ordered. I ordered a chocolate chunk, double chocolate chunk and double chocolate mint. There had been a large order prior to us arriving so we were informed it would be a 5 minute wait. We decided to wait. There was an odd smell in the air that I could nit place and someone else who came into the store commented on it as well. As a bonus for waiting we got a peanut butter and jelly cookie. The chocolate chunk was good. I didn't eat it hot and it was still tasty. They remind me of thicker version of great american coookie company (not sure if they existed in malls on the west coast like they did in the midwest). The double chocolate chunk was super tasty. I enjoyed this one the second most. I did not try the mint cookie but my husband said it was very mint heavy (he likes mint so not sure if that is a positive or a negative). The stand out cookie by far was the peanut butter and jelly cookie which is a cookie I NEVER would have ordered as I do not like peanut butter cookies. This one was only lightly flavored of peanut butter but the sweet jelly flavors came through (if you don't like super sweet cookies may want to skip them). I am glad I tried them and will scoop some up if I am in the area but I have another cookie place that is closer to me, who has cookies I like more. read more

For my birthday my daughter knows that I have a great love for cookie so she brought a variety of cookies from Insomnia Cookies. I think we had these in New York. It might be a chain. Anyway, the cookies were delicious. They were so rich that we had them over several days, even though there were five of us who all love cookies! I think my favorite was the birthday cake funfetti one. All of them was really delicious. They came in different sizes. I'm not sure why, but it didn't matter. They were all really good and I would highly recommend it for the cookie lover in your family. read more

I love insomnia cookies! I have to say I love it more than crumbl cookies. My favorite flavors currently are double mint chocolate chip (reminds me of Andes candy), candy apple, confetti cake, everything I have tried from here tastes home made especially the classic cookies, not too thick which is perfect for me. I also love the ice cream too it goes perfectly with the cookies and has a homemade taste to it. I highly recommend getting your sweets here if you have an appetite for deserts. Also the customer service here is great. The Filipino guy who helped me near closing time was very friendly and answered all my questions. read more

So I did not plan on doing a review for Insomnia Cookies but when I ate these cookies, I was truly blown away. I ordered the Vegan Birthday Cake cookie, the Reese's Peanut Butter Filled Deluxe cookie and the Sugar cookie. ALL OF THEM were on point! That Vegan Birthday Cake cookie was just as good as the others. The Reese's cookie was warm and decadent. I thought about going to get another one today. Both times I went (I picked up an order for my students one day and an order for myself the second day) the store was empty. I was able to pick up my orders at the time I requested to pick them up. The store is located on a street with street parking. But if you order ahead, you can attempt to park in the lot off of Cass and Hornblend real quick and hurry back. The workers are chill and nice. It is not a space with seating inside, this is more of a togo store. They got other items besides cookies. They have ice cream, ice cream cookie sandwiches, icing, cookie cakes and more. They also cater. Looking forward to going back for another Reese's Peanut Butter Filled Deluxe. read more

June 14 11:40 AM. Insomnia Cookies emails me about Father's Day cookie promotion for the week. June 14 3pm. Arrive at Insomnia Cookies and order the Father's Day cookie box and a deluxe cookie. Girl at the counter informs me the promotion is only for the weekend. Dejected I walk down the block and drown my sorrows with a steak sandwich from Steak N Fries. June 14 7pm. Email Insomnia Cookies customer service for clarification. June 14 8pm. Customer service states the store has been emailed that the promotion has started already. June 16 11:45am. After driving around the block was able to locate a parking spot. Note there is not much parking in Pacific Beach in the summer. Ordered the Father's Day cookie box and a deluxe cookie. Girl at the counter informs me the promotion is only for the weekend. me: I have an email from customer service stating the promotion has already started. girl at the counter: My manager says the promotion starts this weekend. me: Let me talk to your manager. girl at the counter: Manager is not in right now. me: How about you call and let me talk to the manager? girl at the counter: He's not on shift right now so I can't call him. me: How about you read the emails I have? girl at the counter: I will make an exception this time. Confetti deluxe cookie was about twice the size of the regular cookies. Most soft with crispy edges. Sugar cookie base was delicious while rainbow sprinkles and white chocolate chips gave this cookie an extra sweet kick. My favorite cookie. Snickerdoodle tasted just like a sugar cookie with some cinnamon flavor. Nice and soft with crispy edges. Classic with M&M's tasted like a chocolate chip cookie loaded with M&M's Loved the flavor. Nice and soft with crispy edges. Oatmeal raisin featured a delicious oatmeal cookie with raisins giving this cookie a sweet kick. I noticed they now serve Bon Suisse ice cream which owns Alta Dena, Knudsen and Foremost. Insomnia Cookies has a great Father's Day celebration with delicious cookies but there seems to be a disconnect between corporate promotions and local management. read more

The cookie place we usually go to was closed on New Year's Eve and we really wanted some cookies so we decided to head to Insomnia. It was my first time and I was pleasantly surprised by how good the cookies were. They were hot, tasted fresh and were melt in your mouth delicious. There was no one else in there when we went in but there were three employees. All three were very sweet and let us know what was available and what wasn't. Parking is what it is and I wouldn't hold it against them. Overall a good experience! read more

I ordered cookies online at 11am today to be delivered at 7pm to my home. Waited around all night and finally called. They never placed my order and the guy on the phone was rude and pretty much hung up on me after I canceled my order. Will not be ordering again. If you want a treat just go get it, using the internet and getting stuff delivered sucks! read more

Came here for the first time. We came on a Saturday night and it wasn't too. The guy behind the counter was courteous. We had: birthday cookie, white peanut butter, Double Chocolate Mint Cookie, White Chocolate Macadamia Cookie, Chocolate Chunk Cookie & Snickerdoodle Cookie These were some of the best cookies I've had. I like that the sides were crunchy and the inside was soft. My favorite was probably the chocolate chunk cookies. If you're looking for a late night snack come check this place out. I'm very disappointed with insomnia cookies. My daughter and I were excited to try crumbl but they were closed so we hearses here. We VERY disappointed. The workers stared into ours livinge soul and were dead silent-- and my daughter was actually quiet scared. The cookies are all very soft and undercooked and pretty average. I won't be surprised if I receive food poisoning within the next day. OVERALL insomnia cookies, despite the named, made me SNOOZE! read more

I'm pretty good at baking cookies, so I was surprised to see how much Insomnia was selling for theirs. We were waiting for our food next door, so we decided to get some dessert beforehand. My friend and I decided to share the s'mores ones since those are a little harder to make. I liked that they warm up the cookie, so it's warm and gooey. While in the area we were looking for a sweet treat while picking up dinner for another local hot spot. We used Yelp and found Insomnia Cookies. Takeout was available so we stopped in to grab what we read were the "best cookies" and went with a special they had that included mini cookies. They only take electronic payments, no cash, so in case your a cash only person, be prepared. Most of the cookie orders really focused on cookie sandwiches but give that we still needed to eat our dinner we were picking up we weren't sure it was the right move & would last that long (ice cream part). The mini cookies left us hangin'. Looking back, we probably should have gotten the full-size cookies as the mini's we picked up tasted absolutely no different than a packet of mini-toll house break-aways. Yeap, these mini's just didn't leave a great impression... Even after picking them up, they traveled with us back home and we still have cookies left. We decided to turn them into cookie crumbs for ice cream at home. Would recommend getting the full-size cookies to anyone looking. They get a solid 3 stars for our 1st time as someone could have sold us on getting the best cookies. I do have them bookmarked for a return trip to see if they live up to the hype!! read more

Disappointed! Hubby wanted a cookie cake for his bday. I ordered delivery and when delivery arrived was handed the box, driver left. When I look down on the box, there written on my receipt was "the cake broke so I gave whatever sorry" opened the box to find an assortment of different flavor cookies (only two chocolate chunk when the cake I ordered was all chocolate chunk" I understand things happen but honestly I should've been called and asked if an assortment of cookies was an ok replacement for the cake or do I want my money back or maybe make a new cake?! Not sure what the hype is about.... $20 for 4 cookies that honestly look and taste like the ones you make at home. Flavors were nothing different either. Stick to crumbl if you're looking for something sweet. read more

The latte was good, and my friend bought a kitchen sink type cookie with chocolate, coconut, and macadamia nuts. It was warm and gooey good! Another friend tried the gelato and said it was very good. There are a few tables inside and tables out in front outside. We sat outside and enjoyed the beautiful San Diego weather. The decor and tables definitely gives you an old school Italian neighborhood vibe with Italian markets right next door. If I am in the neighborhood again, I would definitely come back here to try the gelato and/or a piece of an excellent looking lemon pie bar I spotted.

It was later in the day so they were out of or running low on some flavors. Nevertheless, the two flavors we tried were incredibly rich and flavorful. A little goes a very long way. Parking is incredibly tough in Little Italy but it is worth it for gelato this good.

The smallest of gestures and niceties are what make leaving the house worth it. GIANDUIA. This cake is nothing you can be prepared for, yet everything you need without setting expectations. The boysenberry was the perfect separation for the waves of chocolate and the subtle crunch of the hazelnut toffee type of layer on the very top. The chocolate mousse was the exact mouth feel needed to separate the rich layers of chocolate cake. I saw, I conquered, and I was yet again impressed by what Extraordinary Desserts so purposefully and gracefully offered. Because water ice is a Philadelphia-style Italian ice not commonly found in SD, I decided to order two types in The Midway which was a mid-size cup. Cherry and mango were my picks. Both were as refreshing as advertised, but I was dismayed by the $12 price for the serving. There should be a cost differentiation between water ice and the gourmet ice cream blends. The former certainly is not as expensive to make because it has fewer ingredients in each batch. The worker (owner?) seemed distracted with his phone. Most places like this greet you warmly upon entering and willingly explain or assist with the selections. I didn't receive such a reception as there was awkward silence until I asked for samples and placed an order.

Not only that, but they also have a small selection of gelatos which look pretty authentic like Spumoni! Other desserts I saw were mousse, tiramisu, cannoli, cheesecake, carrot cake, and rugelach. The cafe is small and the service may take a bit if you are waiting for the food, but overall, I enjoyed my coffee and sandwich.
